After having moved into the Tamarac area 9months ago, finally found a barber shop I can call home... I came in as a walk-in, waited about 30min... normal wait time for walk-in. Was attended by Chris and he was able to cut my hair form picture provided.. Price was reasonable for cut and beard trim. The establishment is very clean professional great value. Glad to see they were able to overcome lockdown with stiff competition in the area.. Barber shops in every corner here in Tamarac. They have my 2 thumbs up... Thnks Chris

I have resided in this area since 1996. I have been with the same barber since then, but he was at a point in his life (84 yrs. old) where his hands were just not as steady as I would like them to be. I live across the street from University Barbers and I just walked in and will now Never leave them. Chris worked with me and styled my hair differently for the first time in years. He is truly an old style barber with the ability of a modern day stylist and then some. Chris, schedule me every six weeks for the duration. Thanks for the professionalism. Wayne.

I only ever have time to get a hair cut on my lunch break and these guys make sure Im never late back to work and that I have time to pick up food.. Chris takes care of me, gives the best fades and cleanest line ups. I wouldnt go anywhere else honestly. When I went for my first time I let Chris know he was the first different barber to cut my hair since I was 7 years old and he took that seriously and made sure my cut was amazing. this is the only place to get a great cut.

They are truly professionals. Not everyone knows how to use scissors except these Professionals and may be some others. Kudos to Fernando who is the professional I go to. Started going here after my barber retired. Will have to say that these guys are undoubtedly the best barbers with the cleanest and most efficient shop around. I go to Fernando and have to say that he’s one of the best barbers that I have ever gone to. That’s for 60+ years which says a lot. So, if you need personal grooming, I say you can’t go wrong here!!!

Ok first I do actually think this place offers really great haircuts but my I have not been satisfied with my last two haircuts here. The other haircuts were excellent. But my last 2 haircuts were done by the guy on the right end side. I wasnt happy with how my part turned out. Kinda sloppy if you ask me. I will be going back but probably get someone else next time. Other than that I honestly think this place gives great haircuts.

This place is sub par and the barbers have poor communication with customers. When you get to a barber shop and 5 people that arrive an hour after youve been waiting simply walk in immediately get haircut. I dont think its right.

I took my 7 & 8 year old boys for a cut. Sign says $10 for kids. After getting the haircuts I was charged $36! $18 each for a kids fade! Was told its because its a skin fade it costs more. My fiance called afterwards and just asked how much for kids? She was told $10 to $15 max....of course unless you want a special design. Haircuts were ok but come on.....$18 for a childs haircut is ridiculously high!

Theyre proof-positive that when you have quality professionals that also happen to be nice people providing finely-detailed, individualized work in a calming, clean, convenient, environment, even your deepest hair fears go away. I was looking for a new barber after trying a few others that were either too far, too fast, or too overpriced, so my doubts were high. But I figured Id give a new small business near home a try, and goodness, am I thrilled I did!I called to let them know I was coming (but they welcome walk-ins warmly - see what I did there :-) Chris welcomed me as if we knew each other for years. As I sat in his clean, comfortable barber chair, I did not have to scream over loud music nor try to grab his attention away from the game on ESPN. His focus was on me, on my haircut needs, and soon enough, on me as a human being. He asked key questions to begin the job that I hoped he would do, without judging any of my answers or hesitations. He gave me some great options both before the cut and during the cut as he began to do his magic.So about the cut. He uses scissors, shavers, and razors... for the ears, around the hairline, to even out the sideburns, and ends with a delicious hot shave around the neck. He started and completed my sides with a 1 setting because thats what my clueless self asked for. Once done, he asked me if I wanted it lower. Yep, I became that guy. He happily and quickly cut down my sides with the 1/2 razor, and things looked beautiful (at least to me). He made the groove along the top right side of my hair to give me that clean, professional side split. He even offered to trim down and shape up my eyebrows and ears (I admit I had ignored my ear hairs... ya got me!).I left Chris barber chair and University Barber Shop feeling so good about the experience and really looking forward to my return visit in a couple of weeks. My hair looked awesome without any gel or pomade (Chris offered, but I told him I was going right home and would just wash it off). Awesome without any gel! That never happens to me. Ever.Chris has been cutting hair for a dozen or so years. He and the rest of the barbers at University Barber Shop seem to get along really well with each other (which sure beats some of the Mean Girls-like barber shop Ive been to before. They have older barbers for the picky. They even have a Colombian lady who, Im sure, will cut womens hair to be as fabulous as hers. Theyve only been around as a business for a couple of months, but truly deserve to be very successful. Theyre a great new addition to the barber scene in Tamarac. You wont be disappointed. I promise.
