There was an accident that resulted in a broken window in our house. I googled glass replacement/repair in my area, and Glass Doctor was the top result. I can honestly see why! Glass Doctor is quick, responsive, and a great value. The person that I spoke to on the phone was extremely nice, and was able to squeeze me in for a repair. The man who came to fix my window was also a very nice person. They both were professional and courteous. I cannot say enough good things about this company. I definitely recommend Glass Doctor!

They gave me a very favorable price and set a schedule, weather permitting.They came as scheduled, performed all the work professionally and with a great attitude, cleaned up each day they were there. I had a piece of glass cut to replace a china cabinet panel that had broken. The replacement piece was done within a day or two and worked perfectly! The customer service was great all around, from placing the order over the phone to pickup, and they were very fast!

Glass Doctor of Central Illinois replaced 5 large windows on the front of our home and part of a sliding glass door. They were friendly and efficient, obviously experienced doing the replacement. My husband and I highly recommend them for any of your window installation, repair, or replacement needs.

To start I normally dont post reviews. This business is very unprofessional. I went in to get somethings fixed and I had to call multiple times to see if it was ready for pick up and each time I called was told it was going to be worked on. A month later I called and asked if it was ready and I was told no. I told the man on the phone I would just come get my stuff he said thats fine it would be outside. Rude and what made it worse was when he told me that I was a work in which was not told to me when I brought the product in to be fixed in the first place. Rude, disrespectful, very unprofessional. Dont waste your time with this place.

It is so satisfying to work with such a pleasant and efficient company. Josh the owner always called and was timely. Bob, who came out, measured, surveyed and estimated the project was most pleasant. Very affordable and when the thermal pane casement window was repaired it was a very nice clean job. We would certainly recommend them and will use them for any glass work in the future.

Was driving to Chicago and got a bad window chip. Called Josh and he was super helpful and told us to stop in. Josh repaired the windshield within 30 minutes or less and he was professional and accommodating. I wish I lived closer to refer people to them. You don’t find people as kind and service oriented as Josh. If you have a need I’d check them out! Prices are incredibly fair too!

I dont usually give reviews, but after reading the negative ones provided for this company from previous years to now, with the new management and employees, I feel that it is only fair that these guys get the recognition they so deserve! They have treated us with the utmost respect, courtesy, and professionalism that a company should! Josh has driven the hour drive (one way), often times after hours, to guarantee our satisfaction in the workmanship and quality of their products. And as for the cost of our bathroom remodel, no other quotes we received even came close to theirs!! I would HIGHLY recommend Glass Doctor and their staff for all your glass needs!!!

My experience with the new owner of this company has been great! I am a real estate property manager and owner and have been very satisfied with their prompt service, honesty and workmanship. They do not overcharge, honor their quotes and go above and beyond! I have used their services several times throughout the past year for everything from emergency broken window and windshield replacement to installation of awesome custom glass shower enclosures and will continue to do so.

I highly recommend The Glass Doctor of Central Illinois. Service was impeccable! The people were amazing to work with and very personable! But, above all else, my windshield looks amazing! Additionally, their quote came in far below the competition in Springfield, IL. My windshield started with a small rock chip, which I had repaired by a different company in town, about $50 and a week later, the whole windshield split along its length, leaving a huge crack right along my line of vision while driving. I called the same place Id had the chip repaired with and they werent really willing to work with me. So, aggravated, I called several other companies in the surrounding area to see about the best price, The Glass Doctor was THE cheapest in the area. So, when the time came, that I was severely annoyed with the crack, and decided to get it replaced, I called The Glass Doctor without hesitation. They got me in the next day, which was prefect because Im moving out of state and needed this to be fixed promptly! It only took about an hour and a half, which is just what he had told me for the duration! Instead of waiting for my windshield to be repaired I chose to walk down the road to get some food while I waited, they even offered to give me a ride, which, I declined because it was just a short walk, and who doesnt need exercise! But if you wanted to wait, they have a cozy office with a nice couch and a TV to pass the time. Once the car was done, I walked back, despite being offered again for a ride, and everything looked amazing. Checkout was wonderful, quick and easy!!! If you dont check out The Glass Doctor of Central Illinois, you are doing a huge disservice to yourself! Check them out, you will not be disappointed!

As a contractor its important to find quality vendors to work with. The new ownership at glass doctor is amazing. What a great experience. ALL GOOD SO FAR! I never write these reviews but in light of the bad ones the Glass Doctor has gotten below I had to let people know my experience was anything but bad.The story is this...the glass doctor did a rock chip repair for me during the summer of 2016. This past week (January 17) I got a crack (not connected to the rock chip at all) in the wind-shield. I intended to go straight back to them because of my good experience with the rock chip repair...but then saw the negative reviews on here...so I shopped around. After eliminating a few of the local glass repair places (they dont guarantee their windshields and Im not certain if they use an OEM rated glass) I narrowed the list down to 3 vendors, one of which was the Glass Doctor...with an estimate at approximately 1/2 of what the other 2 vendors pitched me. I called them last Thursday and made an appointment for today (the following Monday). I dropped off my truck this morning and picked it up late this afternoon. When I paid my bill I found that they gave me a credit for what I had paid them on the rock-chip repair last summer! This put my bill ($186 out the door) way below half of what the other 2 places quoted me.Im not sure what issues the other people writing these reviews have but I am very impressed with the folks at the Glass Doctor. Knowledgeable people doing clean work for a great price. They will DEFINITELY get my business in the future.

I have used them a few times for various reasons. They are always fast, do impeccable work and pay attention to detail. And the price beats any other place in town. Josh has helped us out each time and he’s very personable and knows what he’s doing. I believe they are under new ownership so most of the negative comments on here no longer apply to the business. Absolutely the worst service I have ever received.WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!Called for service, came out quickly and gave an estimate. 3 weeks later, they show up with the wrong glass. 3 weeks after the attempted initial install they call to schedule another attempt and never show up. At that point, we issue an ultimatum and they concede that they cannot comply so we insist on a refund. They agree to mail a check, two weeks later, ... no check, ... no surprise. At that point we begin a dispute with our credit card company and they agree to issue a check. Check is picked up from them and taken to their bank where we are informed that there are insufficient funds in the account, however the bank informs us that there are funds in other accounts associated with the business but they are inaccessible, again no surprise. My advice, avoid the trouble, use another company. This company also does business as Capitol Glass, Glass Doctor, and Retro-Foam. I am annoyed that I have to give one star to be able to post.

I have nothing but great things to say about this company. They got out to fix the window in my home faster than any of the other 3 local companies I contacted, identified and fixed the problem on the spot, and did so at a reasonable price. Given what I have learned lately contacting area window companies in the Springfield, IL area, I have to say it would be foolish to not contact this company for an estimate before making a decision about who to deal with.

Addendum Part 2!: I made the mistake of giving this company yet another chance, because the other glass company in Springfield was busy... Now I know why the OTHER company is busy and Glass Doctor is not. We attempted to have Glass Doctor fix a large bay window in another rental house. Long story short, after a 4 week wait to get Glass Doctor out to the house, because allegedly they lost the order and didnt know they were to come to the home to assess the breakage, they finally came out, measured the window, used cardboard as a temporary cover (classy) and ordered it only to find out that they ordered the wrong size. So here we are again, 7 weeks into a window repair with Addendum Part 1: We had to use them again, in January (which turned into April of this year) due to no other companies being available. This time, it took 4+ months to get the window repaired. Still 1 star at best. Springfield NEEDS more glass repair options. Original Post: Weve used Glass Doctor twice, within the last several months, as I was certainly hoping the first experience had to have been a fluke, as surely no company could possibly be that rude and incompetent twice. I was wrong. The first time we used this company, not only were they significantly higher in price than the other two glass companies in town (we were having window glass replaced in a rental house), but they also lost our information, did not arrive for their scheduled quote date, and did not finish the project in the timeframe which was quoted.This time, I made the mistake of phoning The Glass Doctor again, as I was in need of a repair fairly quickly as it was open and on the ground floor of another rental. I asked The Glass Doctor to provide a quote. They stated they would be out 4 days later to provide a quote. I was out of town with limited options, so I agreed to their schedule. They neglected to call us to inform us about the status of the quote and repair. We called them the following Tuesday (5 days after the quote was performed) at which time, they were unable to find any records that the assessment/quote was performed. After being on hold for approximately 10-15 minutes, the gentleman I spoke to found the quote paperwork, under a stack of papers on the receptionsts desk, and noted that, somebody should have called us. He said the cost for the window repair would be $300+, and the parts needed to be ordered, as it was a special window, and to expect 2 weeks for the parts to be in. I asked if we could go ahead and schedule a time two weeks out so we would be on the schedule very soon after the parts came in. He replied that customers can only get on the schedule after the parts have been received, and to expect an additional two weeks to get on the schedule.Since we were now looking at a month for a repair, I told the gentleman to NOT order anything, until I spoke to another company in town (since I had returned home in the meantime). Long story short, the other company could have the quote done and window IN, in a matter of a week, and at a rate of $150+/- less than The Glass Doctor. I then phoned The Glass Doctor and told them again to not order anything, and informed them that the other company would be performing the job and explained why. For those of you keeping score, that is TWICE, I told Glass Doctor not to order anything.Three weeks later (after the window had been installed 2 weeks prior by the other company for $150 cheaper) The Glass Doctor called and wanted to schedule a time to put the window in. I said we had this conversation a month ago, and no window was to be ordered. The receptionist proceeded to become quite rude on the phone and hung up after saying, she spoke with someone who said to order the window. After she hung up the phone mid conversation, I called back to further explain the previous events, and she was immediately rude, stating, I cant be nice right now and hung up again.I will not ever use The Glass Doctor again, and would not recommend them. Rude, disorganized, unprofessional and over-priced.

My basement window was badly broken and needed to be replaced as soon as possible. I had covered it in duct tape to try and keep out bugs, critters and the hot air from the outdoors from getting inside. I read all the reviews of the different glass repair companies and called 4 of them. 2 of them never returned my call, and one called and said it would be 4-8 weeks before they could repair it. 4 - 8 WEEKS!!! Then thankfully Glass Doctor called me about an hour later. One of their guys came out first thing the next morning, did an assessment and gave me a quote. It would be 10 days until the glass arrived and then I would be put on the schedule. Ten days later I called them and was told my glass was scheduled to come in on their truck later that day. The next morning they called, and the repairman said he has some time later that day. He showed up true to his word, replaced my window, cleaned up all the broken glass and even fixed the latch on the inside that had also been broken!!! He didnt charge me for fixing the latch and the cost was exactly what I had been told it would be. Give these folks a try, you will not be disappointed!!! 5 STARS!!!

This glass company is 3 weeks from everywhere. They will tell you your order will be in about 7 days but will take 3 weeks. I have made several wasted trips to pick my glass up and it not be there. I would find another place to get you glass from.
