Marius and Javier did a fantastic job handling our move! They were friendly, professional, and an overall joy to have around. They took such great care of every piece of furniture, and treated them like they were their own.It was disgustingly hot and there was a lot going on but they completed the job without a single sign of weakness. We offered them water and snacks throughout the day, and made sure they had a nice cold rag to cool off at the end of the day. They deserved it! We would highly recommend Interstate to anyone in the area.
If I could give Interstate 10 stars, 100 stars, 1,000 stars, I would. From Virginia to Oregon, every single person that assisted with the packing, loading and unloading of my fathers apartment was kind, patient and attacked the job with a positive and fun loving attitude. It put the entire family at ease through a very difficult transition point in our fathers life and we are supremely grateful. Worth EVERY penny, would recommend to ANYONE.
This was not a simple move! Picking up from an office where I no longer had access; two intermediate drop offs of certain pieces; an impossible turn into the final stop driveway! My Interstate Team handled it flawlessly and with excellent communications from intake through the final piece carried into my home.My contacts at each point of contact were highly complementary!I’ll use them again, for sure, and will recommend them to everyone I know!!
Disappointing! We expected better service and quality for the price of the move. On packing day, a large team showed up. Appeared organized and ready to go! Hours later, no truck arrived to load our items. One of the movers went to pick up a truck. Meanwhile, the rest of the team focused on packing the TVs. Getting them off the wall was a huge task and I am surprised they arrived in working order. We made multiple calls to our coordinator to see why there was no truck and the team packing seemed unprepared to pack our TVs. Our items were later loaded into an Interstate truck.Furniture arrived on the scheduled day with no confirmation email or phone call prior. The delivery arrived on a private truck NOT Interstate. Our items were moved to another truck at some point. Our items were packed to the ceiling with no regard to what was below it! We received smashed boxes and broken items. Curio cabinet base broken, dresser drawer broken. Items that were disassembled had parts in multiple boxes. Some items could not be reassembled by contracted delivery team since they could not find the parts. It is important to note that the team Interstate contracted with for our delivery commented on the poor quality of the packing of the truck. We did not receive a 10ft patio umbrella. We contacted Interstate and they said they would get back to us. No response as of today. They will quickly provide you paperwork to fill out regarding your issues. Clearly a process to hinder you from filing a claim. A missing 10ft umbrella shouldn’t require paperwork. Locate it and deliver it. It has to be at one of the 4 other deliveries made off the same truck.Interstate was a true disappointment! Lack of concern for your household items and unresponsive. I would not recommend them if you value your personal items and want a moving company that ensures you receive all your items un-damaged.
Incredible experience with packing and loading all of our home goods. The professionalism and responsiveness of the crew was phenomenal and we cannot express enough thanks this. The technology used for inventory and the techniques used for packing were top notch. Thank you to our crews!
Professiohnal, courteous and took great care of our things. Great experience with our office move!
Interstate did a great job packing up our house and then loading the truck and unloading at our new location.
Outstanding customer service from the start! From the FaceTime survey of our household goods, to the doors closing on the very clean tractor trailer, we received the highest level of professionalism! I highly recommend Interstate Van Lines for all you relocation needs!
I recently used Interstate to move from N. Virginia to NC. I would highly recommend them. Ive moved several times since the early 90s and they were the best. I had them pack all the kitchen breakables and art work and they did a superb job. They are fast but meticulous. I would definitely trust them again.
We were set to work with this company for 3 days for our PCS/ military move. The first day, the women packing were unprofessional. They refused to let me see what was in the boxes before taping them closed as requested. I could not keep eyes on both of them. They had attitudes and made me feel uncomfortable/pressured while signing papers. I had many questions and I did not feel comfortable with the answers I got. Many things were left unpacked that they claim they could not pack because the men had to do it the next day. Even smaller items. Day 2 no one showed up at all! I have not been able to get in touch with supervision and I’m still waiting to see how day 3 goes. Now I’m up writing this bad review at 3 in the morning because I can’t stop stressing over my belongings and how the rest of this experience will go. Wondering if either of the ladies with a bad attitude stole anything. I will definitely be coming back to finish this review
I moved from Washington DC to Atlanta Ga , from the beginning Mr Thompson and Sherry were great, the coordinator Ann followed up until the end of my move. Mike the driver and his crew were very polite and very professional, he was on time at pick up and delivery and did everything possible to make it easy. I would definitely use them again and would recommend them to friends and family.
MILITARY.Original pick-up date: 15APR2021.Movers were a no-show on 15APR. Contacting my coordinator, Ms. Courtney White, was impossible. I received a phone call at approximately 1530 PST, which I answered. There was no sound/no voice on the other end. Immediately after, I received an email from Ms. White claiming that she was unable to reach me by phone to confirm I was receiving a 5-star packing and loading experience. Other than this insufficient attempt, I never received any notification that the movers were not showing up that day. The only reason my issue was resolved in a somewhat timely manner is because I called incessantly the following morning (which was my last day in that location before I had to leave) and demanded that a new date be set up. The soonest available date was the following Monday, which resulted in me having to coordinate someone else to be there for the packing (the only person available on such short notice was my pregnant friend, whom the packers gave a hard time for not helping them carry heavy boxes down three flights of stairs. That alone was extremely unprofessional behavior, and unacceptable to have that expectation of her). It also resulted in me not receiving my full security deposit back ($280 was taken out), since I was unable to complete a thorough cleaning per my landlady due to the apartment not being emptied as expected/promised.Original RDD date: 28APR2021.After my goods were packed and loaded, no new ETA was given for delivery. I called at LEAST once a week to inquire about updates for my shipment, which never resulted in any answers. Most of the time, I could only reach another representative who did not have the answers I needed, and I was told that they would tell Courtney to call me back with information. *Either these representatives never passed along the messages, or Courtney never actually returns phone calls.* During this time, the most I was ever told is that a driver was assigned, but there was no ETA for delivery. After about three weeks of calling, I managed to talk to Courtney, who told me that they were still waiting on another driver to be assigned, due to the first one receiving negative reviews from other customers. Exasperated, I reached out to the transportation office at my previous duty station. They were extremely helpful, and managed to inform me that the company is aware of their violations [failing to meet pickup date/RDD], and theres currently a trace issue on my shipment. My question is why did Courtney or no one else at Interstate inform me that they didnt know where my stuff was?? Its one thing for a company to try and cover their own backside, its a totally other thing to leave a customer in the dark and LIE to them to try and save face.It is now 4 weeks after RDD, and the new ETA for delivery is 29MAY. I was only able to get any answers by getting all concerned Dept of Defense offices involved. Even after getting these offices involved, none of this information was provided to me by Ms. White. I called today (25MAY) to inquire about the ETA, as well as the inconvenience pay that Im entitled to due to the companys violations. Per an email I received 28APR, no action is required to receive per diem inconvenience payment for the first seven days. However, I still have not received any pay. I explained my situation to Melissa, who had no idea how the inconvenience pay is distributed, and said shell find out and get back to me. Based on my experience with Interstate since they first reached out to me on 03APR, I dont expect a callback with any answers.Overall, this entire experience has been an absolute nightmare. When its time to PCS again, I am going to pack and move everything myself so I dont have to rely on such unprofessional, uncaring, uncommunicative individuals to move my belongings. The way my account has been treated is absolutely unacceptable. I cannot I would especially hate for other DoD employees to have the same experience if they have families.
Quick and easy weigh station for military moves!
Military: the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. They missed our pick up date then after 3 days they came and the moving personnel were rude unprofessional and made my fiance uncomfortable. They gave us a confirmed no later than delivery of 26 April. Obviously they couldnt get that right either because we are still waiting for our household goods. Courtney the move coordinator was never available and when she was she would always have to ask someone else where our shipment was. Lost our shipment for weeks. Currently they said our shipment is enroute but no ETA and a contact to set up delivery. Courtney never follows up with us when she says she will. Very rude woman.
We had a very positive experience with Interstate Moving Company. When they came out for our first pick up of furniture for storage, they were on time, friendly and fast! The second pick up of the remainder of our items 2 months later went smoothly as well. They even changed to delivering our items the same day. That was a great bonus for us. Everyone was very friendly and took great care with our items. The office staff made sure we had everything we needed and kept us update on events. We even received a refund! Great service.
Interstate Moving & Storage did a superb job for our big move from Virginia to Massachusetts in May 2020. The process was seamless and each and every employee involved was hardworking, professional and efficient. Our packing team worked tirelessly for hours packing over 150 boxes and not one item was damaged. We could not have asked for a better group of women to get the job done. The truck teams both in Virginia and Massachusetts were also excellent, working quickly, handling our household goods carefully; professional in every way. I highly recommend this company.
I had move with a required delivery date of 16 November. My goods were not delivered until 3 December. Interstate Moving agreed to pay an inconvenience fee equal to seven days of the military per diem rate for my new location. After 2 months and 5 phone calls trying to obtain the payment for the inconvenience fee, I still have not received a check for the correct payment amount.
By far the worst experience I’ve had with a moving company.
Choosing Interstate for my move from Manassas to Richmond was the smartest thing I could’ve done when it came to relocating. Their team was impressive. Eric was knowledgeable & transparent when it came to generating a quote. I felt confident throughout the entire process because of Ann’s support. Troy, Lovelle, and Jon were awesome! They made the move a breeze & are experts in what they do. All three of them handled my possessions with care & were friendly along the way.
I was very impressed with the professionalism and courtesies extended to me for my interstate move from VA to FL. The driver and crews were prompt, efficient, polite, and obviously very experienced. They took great care of my belongings as well as the homes being moved out of and in to. The move coordinator did a wonderful job of keeping me apprised of the schedule as well as monitoring to ensure that I was not charged for services not needed. I highly recommend this company for your moving needs.
Incredible moving experience from WV to AZ. Mr Lee was the driver for the entire move. Oskar and Rigo were incredible on the loading end. They had two flight of stairs to deal with as the packed, moved and loaded 6,020 lbs of goods. We had packed 93 items and they took care of the other 80 items. Mr Lee packed most of the glass and fragile items. Did I tell you they were amazing?!Mr Lee did not disappoint on the unloading portion either. His incredible work ethic and customer service continued as Mario and Andre unloaded and moved our 6,020 lbs in our new to us home. They were efficient and careful. I am not sure if any of them could have done a better job.Clinton was great with the survey and initial contact. Charlene took over on setting up the move. Incredible logistics and customer service throughout. Thanks to all for making our move as stress free as possible. We would definitely recommend this company to others.
Im a commercial furniture dealer and ended up in a unique situation so I had a very unusual request. Carry a credenza that weighed 400 pounds up 11 flights of stairs in an office building! They even stopped half way up to double check the wrapping. 6 guys it took! All quiet, helpful, professional. They cleaned everything up after it was delivered too. I will hire them again in a heartbeat! They did an awesome job!
My husband and I moved from WA to ID. Was not sure about this company because I was expecting a brand named mover to contact me. I have to say that EVERYTHING went smoothly with NO up charges. The men were punctual, professional and efficient. I have a very old chest from China that I was worried about and it was delivered in perfect condition. The communication with the personnel was excellent, they did not keep us wondering about the move. I would highly recommend this company.
Claims department is the best.
Excellent and Professional service with care and quality! Our move from VA to storage, then storage to Iowa several months later was excellent. We had end to end customer care and contact and all of their employees and management were courteous, professional and totally focused on our satisfaction. I recommend them highly! Russ O
I work for an interior design firm that has been using interstate to receive and deliver large amounts of our product. I have never had a complaint about their timeliness, consistency, and Ive found them very easy to contact.Earlier this week I had the opportunity to get 6 pallets worth of material delivered early. Sid and company jumped through hoops to make my 5am delivery happen so that I could capitalize and save time.Great business to business interaction!
Amazing customer service, no issues at any point during the move. Easy coordination from start to finish. Packers were in and out in 1 day without rushing the process. Very courteous and worked with having family in the house the entire time.
I would highly recommend Interstate Moving Relocation Logistics based on my experience over the past three years as an employee. This company is family owned, professionally managed with a focus entirely on the customer. Your household goods and office furniture and equipment are guaranteed to be professionally transported and set up as you desire.
Interstate moved me into my first home and did a wonderful job! They were courteous and extremely helpful. Our home was undergoing renovations and the crew was very patient about furniture placement. Our furniture was carefully padded and moved through very tight hallways and stairwells. I highly recommend Interstate and will use them for all of my future moves!
For my move from Jacksonville, FL to Burke, VA, Interstate Moving Relocation Logistics did an outstanding job of coordinating the packing, loading, and delivery of the my household goods. All of the crews (packers, loaders, and delivery crew) were incredibly respectful towards my family and took great care of our stuff. During a stressful situation, they made it easy to relocate my family to the DC area. I would highly recommend Interstate to anyone that is looking to move.
Proud to be part of company with seventy-five plus years of service to local community, as well as providing moving services throughout the United States and throughout the world. Services include all aspects of relocation, moving and logistics for individuals, small to medium size firms, Fortune 500 companies, Government Agencies, United States military, non-governmental organizations, etc.... Outstanding charitable and philanthropic outreach. Pleased to have the opportunity to share my experience on a day to day basis with relocating employees, client contacts, internal and exterior partners to incorporate the shared values to create a positive overall experience.
What a great experience I personally had using this company. From calling up to start the process and get information to the last piece getting moved.. everything was great. The initial price quote was very fair and the price never changed, the movers were on time, everything was done very safely but quickly, all my questions were answered right away and the customer service and interaction with the moving crew was top notch. I would record Interstate Moving Relocation to anyone!!!!
Interstate was our assigned Transportation Service Provider on our most recent military move from Virginia to Texas. We had a phenomenal packing crew in Regina and Alex who packed our household goods efficiently, and with the utmost care. Our loading crew and pick up driver worked so effectively to load the truck. Our delivery driver Jim and his crew delivered without issue, and worked to make sure all the furniture was together and placed where we wanted it. My amazing move coordinator, Lauren, was there every step of the way when I had any questions or concerns. The open communication with her was something we have not experienced on our previous PCS moves. Our small damage claim was settled quickly without issue. The entire Interstate team from start to finish made this our best PCS ever (our 10th in 14 years) with their wonderful, professional, and exceptional customer service. I never knew a move could go seamless, and be without the stress, worry and anxiety that we usually experience on our previous moves. Thank you taking good care of our home while in transit, and treating us like family.
Interstate did an excellent job with my move. They were on time and very professional. Both the packing and delivery went smoothly.
Good service.
I worked with Interstate Moving during the Coronavirus pandemic. In a difficult situation, their customer service was excellent and follow through very timely. I would recommend this company without hesitation.
You are 2 days late!!!! Im left with my elderly mother here, Im stuck in limbo here everything is packed and nowhere to stay again. Why would you take a job obviously knowing you werent going to be able to be there on time. A little kate is one thing 2 days is UNACCEPTABLE. I need to get my mom to a Dr in Minnesota and cant leave until your movers are here! This will not be my last communication with this believe me.
I recently sold my home in Maryland and relocating to Florida. I must say from my first phone call to Interstate I was so impressed with their commitment to make this move easy! The pick up date of my furniture was flawless! The men who moved my furniture and boxes were excellent. They treated my belongings as if they were moving their own home possessions. The guys were professional in every way. On the other end of the move to Florida my son met the movers. He reported the crew who unloaded the truck were just as efficient and professional. I would highly recommend using Interstate Moving/ Relocation for your moving needs.
I am SO happy I chose this place to help me with my move. The staff were so incredibly friendly, on time, took good care of the belongings and they were so fair with the price. If I ever had to move again I would go with them in a heartbeat! I would recommend them to anyone!!!!
After 17 year on active duty, several moves with two overseas assignments, this has been the worst experience ever. Movers company in Georgia, took all my furniture apart and didn’t label the tools properly.Once in VA, the movers didn’t show up till till almost noon even though I was told they would be here between 0800-1000. They unloaded my household goods, a lot stuff broken. My bedroom set had a bunch dents. Normal for military moves I guess.I checked of the list making sure everything came. By the end of the day bunch of stuff still missing. The main guy kept calling the warehouse to see if possible a crate was missing. None of furniture was able to be assembled since one parts box was still missing a pieces of the each of the furniture. By 1900 the guy finally said they are leaving but another crew will be back at 0800 the next day to bring the missing stuff and put all the furniture together. The next morning by 1000 no one had called or came. I called the company to find out what was going on. I was informed that they hadn’t even looked for my missing items yet. So the lady names Courtney was going to find out what was going on. Couple hours later she finally called back and said they would be here around 1400. They told me they are also sending a crew to unpack my boxes. That crew showed up around 1400. They dumped out all the boxes since they couldn’t really put stuff anywhere as they stated. But my bookshelf’s were there and so were the closest. But now my house looks like complete disaster with stuff just everywhere and I can’t even get to anything. The other crew finally comes at 1640 with the missing items. They unload the stuff pretty quickly and then attempt to assemble the furniture. They admit they aren’t not experts in assembling furniture and don’t really know what they are doing. They were able to assemble the master bedroom set. They keep asking me what’s screws goes to what. After a couple hours they quit and said it’s getting late and we don’t want to be here all night. They will send someone else to finish.Day 3: I call again the company to find out when they will send someone out. I spoke to the manager named Brittany Jessup and she asks for pictures and that she would get someone to come for the furniture. While I wait I start organizing some stuff. Before I moved I spend hours organizing my paperwork, I made folders for each item and seperated it all. Now all the paperwork was thrown in pile on the floors all mixed up. That’s how this company cares about your items. They just called and told me that could have some next Wednesday to come assemble my stuff. So they want me continue to live in this disaster for another week because they couldn’t send compentent people or do this move right. Now I am upset and I did use curse words talking to the lady. She said I shouldn’t be disrespectful when I have been trying to be patient and nothing has gone right.
Awesome experience from start to finish. We only moved a short distance but the moving crew was amazing. They took really great care of our possessions. On moving day, it was a horrendous rain storm, and they made sure to wrap all furniture, cover the floors in both the old home and the new home and get the job done. I would definitely recommend Interstate for your moving needs.
Picked up household goods on JUN 9th. Transport is from Chesapeake, VA to Charlestown, IN (less than 700 miles). Failed to deliver household goods on delivery date, Jul 13th. Also didn’t notify me that they weren’t going to be able to deliver on that date. Failed to delivery household goods on second delivery date Jul 20th.
Just want to say BIG thanks.Always.
I had such a great experience with this company during my move. Of course theres always something when you pack and move from one place to another, but for me, everything was smooth, on-time, expected updates and continued support throughout. I worked with Tram, and she is such a helpful person. Calling to check-in, helping to schedule time, explaining all the logistics were few things out of many she did. The scheduled people came on time, packed it thoroughly, loaded it to truck and departed. Arrival was as expected, with updates and unpack, move in was breeze. Theres always some stress when youre moving, but Tram kept in touch and asked for updates, as well as provided updates. She even argued on my behalf with a hotel when things almost went sideways.Overall, I am very happy with the move and the follow ups provided. If youre working with Tram, you know youll be happy with her service.
Excellent customer service
Beyond pleased with this company the all the services they helped me with and very friendly and understanding. They really go the extra mile to make sure your happy with everything!
Fast, efficient, friendly, on time, very helpful. Just perfect. I highly recommend this company and will use them again if I need to move.It was a year between packing up and finally moving into a new home. The delivery guys were just as efficient and helpful as the packers. everything was in great shape.
Excellent service. Move went smoothly. Guys were great. We moved a short distance but had bulky stuff. No problem. Price & estimated time were right on money. Would definitely recommend and would definitely use again.
Today I had the pleasure to be assisted by 5 members of the Interstate Moving team. These individuals professionally and courteously reduced my storage inventory by 40%. The members worked continuously for 2 hours and carefully removed, then repacked my household goods. I cannot express my appreciation sufficiently to Chris and his work force. Thanks for a great experience! One concern I had was the amount charged for Interstate to dispose of the items that Salvation Army failed to remove. The Interstate disposal. charge doubled the price of my engagement.
I had nothing but a great experience working with Interstate for our move earlier this year. Weve contacted several movers, big and small in the area for price comparison , and we found that Interstate beat everyone for their service and cost. From a survey visit, to moving day, they were professional, polite, punctual & reasonably priced compared to other local movers in DC area. I would highly recommend Interstate to my friends and family for their move.
Gouged the price AFTER they had all of our items loaded. I gave a VERY thorough description of my items to the salesman (Jay) including photos and a map of the delivery site. They get there and immediately charge us an additional $150 for the additional feet from door to truck. I had read the contract and previously discussed with Jay but nothing we could do with the movers so I said ok. After they get ALL of our items loaded they let us know it was going to be more than $1000 more than the original quote. We did not add any additional items and they were 250 sq ft off on the quote. How can they possibly have estimated that far off unless they were just frying to undercut to get the deal. The other issue is this was a small moving truck with lines drawn on, not the semi we were promised. I do not believe our items took up 1.5 times the space from the quote. We had local companies come out and actually view our items that came in lower than this. I am very disappointed and would NEVER recommend them. One positive I do want to mention is that the movers were very thorough, careful, and pleasant. I wish we could have worked directly with them and avoided Interstate Van Lines all together.
I am proud to state that I am starting on my 20th year with Interstate Van Lines. While we are an ever-expanding company, Interstate was built around being family-oriented.Whether moving a family’s household goods with excellent care or reaching out to assist families in our community, it is a driving part of Interstate culture. While holding true to core values, we have also embraced changes in the work-environment, integrating technology and new processes to better ourselves and our customer’s experience.I have enjoyed being part of Interstate’s growth over the years and I look forward to being a part of the future!
As an employee of Interstate for 15+ years. It is great to see the trust of some of top realtors in the nation have with the team and Interstate. And they keep referring their clients over and over again.
My wife and I move from a 4 bedroom home to a senior living complex. Interstate handled our move with professionalism and courtesy from beginning to end. Since I was in a rehab facility due to a fractured hip, the responsibility for the move was left to my wife to manage. Interstate was of immense help to her during all phases of the move, including staying later than expected during the delivery to help in unpacking. If there were six stars in the rating system, I would add it since I was so pleased with the job that they did for us.
We used Interstate for our move across the US. They were very professional and helpful. They checked up on the packers and movers, as well as touched base with me while the move was going on. The driver came by and introduced himself to me before the stuff was loaded. It was a great move. I would definitely recommend Interstate!
We made an appointment for the movers to pack up our house, with the understanding that everything would be going into storage until we bought a new place. They were very polite, very knowledgeable about what they had to do and very efficient. They were packed up and gone in less than 4 hours. Every piece of furniture was wrapped in quilts and taped up before it was even removed from the house. They covered the floors in the house so there would be no problem tracking any dirt or leaves from outside
Very good and professional movers they really care about your household items. And they protect your house floor and wall and carpet.I give them a 10 star
Packers and Movers showed up on time and were professional and easy to do business with. I would be happy to work with this company again!
We had a great experience moving with Interstate. The packers did a fantastic job with all our property, and the day of the move went smoothly with a great crew. Id strongly recommend them.
I was very satisfied with Interstate Moving. I called them two weeks out of my move date, got an over the phone estimate, booked it and was scheduled in less than a week. The movers were very professional, efficient and friendly. I was doing a local move of a distance of just about a mile, but they took extra care of my belongings and wrapped everything individually. The arrived on time and finished early. I would definitely recommend them!
Great company, the care and attention to detail are top notch
We just completed a military move and were assigned this company. The local movers, who were outsourced, were professional. However, the logistics side was a complete train wreck. They apparently lost the shipment for a few weeks and couldnt tell us where it was, when it might arrive, or anything. Like others have mentioned, the move coordinator was nowhere to be found. They finally notified us 3 weeks AFTER the required delivery date to say we have it and it will arrive tomorrow. Great. The delivery team, again an outsourced local company, was good. However, we had several items broken or damaged including an oak dining room table which was severely warped (apparently from water) to the point it wasnt able to be put together. We submitted our damage claims and got offered less than half of what the table was worth (with the explanation that they are experts in damaged tables apparently). We tried to reach out to discuss, but (yet again) no one would call back. We ended up taking the settlement just to be done with it.This entire process has taken months of frustration and a complete lack of care/contact from their end.If you have any choice, choose someone else. If you got assigned this mover, plan on getting your stuff late, them dragging their feet on everything, and not getting paid what your stuff is worth. Consider this mover assignment a sign from God that you should move yourself.
I dont have my things. I was promised delivery TODAY! And that was only after a series of unfun screw-ups.1. When I phoned in to get an estimate and make my pick-up reservation, Samantha was courteous and assured me that:A. The estimate included all packing materials, the moving crews fee, and all other fees.B. That I would receive my household goods at the destination on the date I specified as long as we scheduled the pick-up 7-10 days in advance of my needed delivery date.C. I must say I was really pleased with Samanthas attention to detail over the phone with me. I was also really happy with the price because it was about $600.00 less expensive than going with U-pack. And with U-pack I would have had to both load and unload the truck on my own.D. Samantha also promised that I could simply pay-in-full up front and would then only need to pay any excess if my amount of things went over the estimate. BUT that the way their system worked I had to do it in two separate payments. First a deposit to lock in my reservation, and THEN she would send me a separate payment form so I could pay the balance. Samantha never kept her promise. And when I wrote her about it, she kept sending me only the original deposit form not the one with the remaining balance. I was too busy to keep tracking her down over the next two weeks so i let it slide.E. Samantha promised also that I would not have to make any payments in cash or by money order.
Fabulous experience! The guys that moved me were professional, timely, and so nice! I would highly recommend them to anyone for any move anywhere. Large or small, doesnt matter. Best decision Ive made this year was to hire them.
Very disappointed with service. Communication was poor, delivery was late, and my 8x5 floor rug was lost in the process. Disappointment continued with the settlement process, when my rug claim was depreciated in value, which did not even cover half of the replacement cost.
Invan has done a terrific job with moving our stuffs to Germany. Actually, we were assigned the moving counselor, Mary, who had done a terrific job in assisting me and the children with all the moving details. Also, Brian, who helped us with moving the car and household goods, has been prompt in answering our questions and helping us with all the details. The packing staffs are very polite and professional. They got everything packed on time.
From Start to finish, the process with interstate moving was seamless!Beginning with their fair pricing & culminating with the moving of everything!I personally would use them again & recommend so to my friends and colleagues!
Best moves of the 11 moves I have done. Interstate was extremely professional, cared about our goods and delivered everything on time and without a scratch. Even the boxes that I packed myself came to our destination without breakage. I highly recommend using Interstate Moving in Springfield, VA.
I was moving from Alexandria to Centreville; not a huge move and only one bedrooms worth of furniture (but with a couple of BIG, heavy pieces) so I utilized IVLs Clutter Buster Package. The crew was on time, friendly, and communicative. There was a misunderstanding with the schedule but the guys took it in stride and accommodated the move perfectly! As we were getting ready to leave, my car wouldnt start. Let me tell you, this crew saved the day! They jumped into action, put my car in neutral, and moved it from the driveway to a safe spot on the street. Then they actually jumped my car for me.Even with the car troubles and hour and a half commute from Alexandria in rush hour traffic, the whole thing still only took 4 hours.IVL was neat and efficient and went way above and beyond the scope of the job. I would highly recommend and will definitely use them again!
Interstate did a great job moving us from Northern Virginia to North Carolina. They efficiently packed our house and 2 days later delivered our stuff to our new house.
My husband and I had our first move with the military and this was the company assigned to us. They had done an awful job packing a one bedroom apartment, it took them going on 7 hours. Fine no big deal. When we arrived to my husbands station, they delivered our belongings to our new house and many of our things were damaged as well as the wall in our home. We filed our claim and at first they told us we’d hear back within 30 days, we called back roughly 24 days after our claim was filed to be told that we’d have an offer by 60 days after our claim was filed. Okay fine, we continued to check up on the status of our claim because our 60 days were coming to an end. We kept getting pushed off saying we’d receive an email within the 60 days. Our 60 days was up on a Sunday so we expected to receive our offer the Friday before. We called to yet again check the status of our claim and were told we would hopefully receive one sometime within the week and still have yet to even receive an offer.
I moved a 2 bedroom house. The movers were on time, fair rate, NO HIDDEN FEES n friendly service!
I used Interstate for a move within Annapolis and had an overall positive experience. The guy who set up the move was new and didnt organize it properly, but on moving day the crew and management went out of their way to work around the mistake. The movers themselves were really friendly and took great care of everything. If you use them, make ABSOLUTELY SURE someone looks over your house in advance. If you want a full service move, they will want to send the packers the day before your moving date.
From start to finish the crew was amazing. The packers were so nice and took great care. The movers worked so hard! I got the A team! Thank you.
If you place ANY value on your belongings...emotional or monetary...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Interstate packed us up the last week in April in Northern Virginia and held our stuff in storage until our new house was ready in North Carolina; we settled on 9/22 and the mover arrived 9/24. One driver hired two local guys to help him. Stuff broken. Stuff missing. Found out there were a number of items not even listed on our manifest so, of course, those things didnt show up either. Our king-size bed collapsed in the middle of the night because the legs hadnt been put on. Big gouge in our dining room table. More furniture scratches then I could ever describe. Shelf missing from an antique oak table. Their sales manager, Eric Barr, was supposed to call me to discuss last Wednesday, 9/28. Havent heard from him and cant get hold of him. Contacted our sales lady, Kim Jones. Oh, sorry, I dont have anything to do with operations. Oh yeah, the delivering driver wanted a cashiers check for $3,000 upon delivery even though I had already paid Interstate $4,000+ on my Mastercard! AGAIN, USING THIS COMPANY WILL CAUSE YOU NOTHING BUT ANGUISH AND HEARTACHE.
Do not trust this company with your belongings or business. This company outsources their movers from other states. These outsourced movers/companies are not liable for anything lost, stolen, broken, etc. For example, the movers who came from Texas to Utah to move belongings to Nevada, broke, lost, potentially stole, and left behind bellongings (entire large items!!!!), forcing the owners to go back and retrieve the items after moving. Also, the outsourced movers will show up unequipped, understaffed, and with the wrong size truck and there is nothing you can do about it. Interstate is so clueless that they call up to a month after the original delivery date and notify you that your stuff has been delivered. Complete unsatisfactory with this company. Dont use them unless you are desperate!
Interstate did a fantastic job with our move. They men who moved us were personable, respectful and did a great job. I would absolutely recommend them for anyone looking for a stress-free move!
Great job all the way around. The movers were polite professional and great to work with
My move was local, but a big house. Two totally full big trucks. Two packers took 8 hours to pack house. About 80 boxes. Six guys and two trucks took 11 hours to load truck, Drive 10 minutes, and unload truck. Nothing broken, polite workers and the rate was about the same as I paid 13 years ago the last time I did this (taking into account growth of our stuff and inflation). They pointed out damaged furniture ahead of time which was smart on their part. One scratch in a wooden floor, but that might have been there. If you dont want it packed, you better identify it or get it out of the way. We paid extra to very carefully and expensively pack stuff we didnt care about. The Interstate customer serivice guy called me about 5 times during the packing andmoving which was a little annoying, but I guess I would have appreciated it if things went awry.I chose them after calling 3 other companies who either didnt get back to me or wanted me to guess on the size of the move. I appreciate that Interstate came out and surveyed the house before estimating.
These guys were awesome! Polite, professional, friendly and helpful. I sure hope I get them when Im ready to move. Impressed with how polite and helpful they were! Thanks guys!!
Great company with fair pricing and quality care to your valuables!
Best moving company around. I’ve dealt with and spoke with several across the United States(and internationally) and the level of training and quality workflow that goes into their employees is incredible. They truly care about quality and not quantities. ISO certified. They even have an entire TRAINING HOUSE inside the warehouse for hands on training before entering into a customers home. The customer service staff go through extensive training for MONTHS before going into the floor. Webinars, on sight, team building, this way they KNOW what’s occurring and can handle every caller with the best experience and knowledge possible. The companies they subcontract also get monitored for performance in the quality work flow. I’ve never seen a company put so much into their employees and I understand now how they have been in business for over 75 years providing top hat service.
My internship was amazing, I loved it, I look forward to work at interstate moving and storage again soon
Once again, a new chapter of my life has come about. Interstate Moving organized a pack, load & transportation in 14 days! Thanks to them, I am 2 days ahead of schedule. The driver and crew did an amazing job at both pick up and drop off. I now have 2 extra days to settle in before I start my new job. This is the 3rd relocation they have handled for me and once again, they knocked the cover off the ball! Thank you everyone. God Bless!Services: Vehicle transport, Packing / unpacking, Out-of-state moveLets be honest, no one wants to move! My last 2 relocations were done by Interstate Moving and Storage. In both instances, they were expedient, helpful, and very accomodating. I had a semi tight schedule and they moved things around to get me to my destination on time. My house was packed, wrapped and padded. Everything arrived without damage, delays or issues. As stressful as moves can be, Interstate went above and beyond to make this as smooth as possible. Thank you!
Had received a phone call twice from the ones located in Philadelphia. Told them I pretty much wasnt interest and the guy told me I was stupid. I find this place very unprofessional I couldnt imagine how they would treat my belongings seeing how they treated me as a person when not interested. Its sad you got to at least give one star on here would be even better to give zero one star is way too much credit.
5 Star Service - Packers and movers were prompt, quick, and professional. The managers we spoke with before, during, and after the move were also outstanding. These folks made the angst of moving as pleasant as possible!Thank you, Interstate!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. (Packing) The packers did not care the least bit about our valuables pictures were wrapped in clothes electronics smashed together with no packaging. If you care about your goods this is not the right choice to make. One of the workers smelled so bad that now all of our clothes reek of his body odor from him sweating on the little packing paper they used, sickening. Our goods were stored in a non climate controlled facility causing major damage to our leather couch and love seat(standby for pictures of all things mentioned). (Unpacking) All our clothes and household items were dumped on the floor in large piles and we were told that is how they conduct business. With three small children our home was left in disarray for us to sort. This lack of job completion and total disregard is the reason America is the way it is no follow through or honor in the job market. Many reviews seem extreme but pictures tell the story. We had to hire a professional Organizing company (for $180) to complete the job they were graciously paid for. Unsat I rate this company a 0!
HORRIBLE COMPANY! My wife and I have been waiting for our stuff to ship from VA - ND for two months! We still havent received our furniture and I dont expect well be getting it in the same condition they picked it up in. This company takes advantage of the fact that, whether they provide good service or bad, they get paid either way. I took leave to be home for my original projected arrival date and when I realized that my shipment wasnt arriving I called customer service and they gave me the run around until they confessed that it never left the original pick up location. Its been excuse after excuse. After several weeks, we were called and told to expect our shipment to be arriving on a particular date. When it didnt arrive, the customer service rep said that one of the companies they chartered made a mistake on the routing documents and they had to send our shipment to a warehouse until a local company could fit us into their schedule for a home delivery. Come to find out the claim about the chartered company making a mistake was fabricated and Interstate was the company that made the error. This company and the companies they charter are absolutely TERRIBLE. They take advantage of their military contract. We will be contacting our regional military offices that book these terrible companies and make sure to file a complaint.
The moving team was fantastic. They were so helpful and efficient. I would totally recommend Interstate Moving!
Stay away from this company! This has been the absolute worst moving company that I have ever worked with. They lied about the location of my goods. They damaged more items than all the other companies I have used in the past. They were not even close to their delivery date. Worst of all, they are refusing to reimburse me for all the damages and missing high value items. It has been a nightmare dealing with them and the amount of time that I have wasted on the phone and writing emails just to get an answer from them is absurd.Save yourself the time, money and frustration. Use a different company.
We have moved 10 times and purchased 8 homes, all in different states. This move done by Interstate was the easiest.Their relocation group helped us get realtors who were very professional and easy to work with. Our listing agent worked very hard at marketing and selling our last house. And our buying agent was very willing to show us all of our different options for housing and locationsOur moving day was the easiest that we have ever had. All of our furniture was wrapped in padded blankets and taped. In fact, our realtor came by the house and was amazed at the care that was taken. She had just had a client who moved locally whose furniture wasnt wrapped. That person had several pieces of furniture badly damaged.Even though our move in day was delayed 5 days by PNC banks inability to find a clerical error our move-in day was very easy. Every piece of furniture was placed where I wanted it.Both move out crew and move in crew were very easy to deal with and were very politeI will use Interstate any time I move!.
Great moving experience with the Interstate crew. Some damage occurred in transit (still waiting for refunds!) but overall it went really well!
Good company unless they break something. Good luck trying to get it fixed. I moved into my new home on August 29th. My dinning room table was delivered broken. Today is October 17th and I still don’t even have an appointment of when it will be repaired. Home is incomplete because there is a broken table sitting in the middle of it. I’ve been more then patient emailing and calling to try and find out information.
The level of incompetence I observed while trying to move with Interstate is almost indescribable. My jaw is on the ground. I cant believe their constant mishandling, or how flippant they are about their large, unacceptable mistakes.I am trying to relocate from DC to London, and was referred to Interstate by my husbands firm. Don became our point person, our supposed main contact. Upon reaching out 2 months prior to our move, he suggested we have a call a week later to discuss move details.Red flag #1: he or someone from his company should have called right away.During the call, we confirmed our desired move dates. I had questions about customs when our items would arrive.Red flag #2: He did not ask any inventory questions, and he could not answer questions about customs or (even approximately) when our items would arrive.1 week after our call, Don emailed to say someone from Hildrup Moving would be contacting us to schedule a survey. I responded saying Id rather not use Hildrup. They followed up saying we could use Interstate for the move, and we scheduled a survey for the following week.Red flag #3: Three weeks passed from initial contact to scheduling the survey. I received emails from 5 different representatives from various moving companies (Corrigan, Hildrup, Interstate) asking about our survey, and none of them could answer my questions. When the Interstate rep came for the survey, all went well and seemed pretty straight-forward.Red flag #4: the guy who came could only answer questions about the survey. While very nice, he knew nothing about timeframes, packing, or really anything outside of counting furniture and estimating its weight.Several days after the survey, I received an email from another Interstate representative. She assigned us a pack date for the following week and sent over paperwork. She also told us that it would take 4-6 weeks to process specific UK customs paperwork that had to be done before our items would be shipped out.Red flag #5: Why didnt anyone mention we needed to fill out the TOR (UK transfer of residency) paperwork before? We gave them a desired move date, and we were only told that it may fluctuate depending on weather. This added 4-6 weeks to our move, meaning we would be sleeping on the floor for at least 3 months on either coast. Major fail, Interstate.Red flag #6: We never consented to the pack date, and responded to the email saying it didnt work for us. They responded saying our items needed to be packed ASAP and would be in storage until our paperwork was approved by UK customs. Theres no purpose for our things to be in storage for that long.I responded to them saying this was all unacceptable: the delay in sending paperwork, the mishandling of our time and move, and not consenting to the pack date. I received an out of office response.Red flag #7: 3 movers in a big Interstate truck came to my door this morning. Interesting. I specifically sent multiple emails to his representatives saying i do not want to pack today. When I called Don to tell him about his companys latest error, he not only did not apologize, he thanked me for my negative comments and argued with me saying he was indeed competent.Needless to say, I will be using another moving company. The lack of customer service, the inflated prices, the canned email responses with no specific answers to my questions, the terrible management (thats you, Don)... I wouldnt wish anyone use this company.
Well they do a great job in everything office moves household moves and international moves as well great company
WORST MOVE EVER!!! I did a military move with them a month ago. My move coordinator horroriable. He was never there when I need him and would never return my calls. The guys who moved my furniture was great. Even though I had two pieces of my furniture that was damage. It took me almost a week to get my furniture after the date that it was due to arrive at my new places. The worst thing is that once the move is over, a representative calls you and tell you to give them all 5s on the Post-Move survey. Them knowing that the survey might affect their business with the military, they offer you some cash incentive if you give them all 5s.
Wow. What an unpleasant experience. I just relocated across the country after my separation from the military. Generally, you have no idea who your moving company is going to be in these situations. This company ended up being who I had to deal with.I am not going to write a long explanation of what happened, but Ill leave some detail. They were 5 days late delivering my shipment, causing a lot of stress to my wife and me. On the day of delivery, they were 3 hours late. At the storage unit, in 40 degree weather, they were in such a rush that I reluctantly signed the delivery papers and he was off to be late to his next drop off before I had the chance to OPEN ALL 50 BOXES IN 40 DEGREE WEATHER (its been determined thats what I should have done to check that status of all my belongings). After sorting through the shipment, I noticed a few things missing. We have searched through every box 3 times and have not found what we are looking for. I filed a claim and they offered me $0 for everything that happened.A large part of this is my own fault for signing that paper saying all of my high value items were delivered. That is me trying to get this driver back on the road, doing his job. Due to their tardiness and other circumstances, I am unable to prove anything that happened and will be fighting this with DPS for years and will see nothing of it.Please choose another company.***EDIT***This is an edit to the previous review. I thought the issue was resolved when I received compensation for certain items that were missing, but I recently unpacked ALL of my items to find out that MORE items were missing. I had headphones packed in its original box, just to open the box to find the headphones missing. This happened with numerous items that I just unpacked. I unpacked these items on 10/13/2018. My move was over one year ago, and due to living circumstances I was unable to unpack everything until now.I have already filed a claim with this company, which was originally REJECTED. I had to plead with the company to get ANY compensation for what i KNEW was gone. And now to find that more items are missing, it is sickening. This company hires criminals, and I do NOT recommend them to anyone. ZERO stars.
You have the best rates and the customer services is excellent. Elsa is awesome. Again thank you very much.
Very bad experience, I did a PCS move with the military. Their deadline is tomorrow so they literally waited until the last possible day to have my stuff arrive, only for me to find out that this only means my stuff will arive in the warehouse tomorrow not actually get to my home on the deadline date which means they won’t have to reimburse me for anything. Unfortunately I did not have a say so in what company I chose but I will make sure for my next mormce it WILL NOT be this company. I could have went and got my stuff and brought it too my home by myself faster then them. Needless to say 28 days later I still don’t have my stuff and won’t be gettin it for another week or so. And from these reviews I don’t even want to know what condition my stuff will get her in.☹️
Avoid this moving company at all costs, if you have a vote in the matter.Interstate Van Lines failed to deliver my household goods shipment until 28 days beyond the required delivery date. This was a result of gross incompetence and mismanagement, as well as potentially unethical business practices that were by my perceptions spread across all levels of the company.Based on patterns that I see in the complaints, there is a trend that shows this company is completely unconcerned with customer satisfaction in the case of government contracted moves. They know that they will be paid regardless, and there is a low likelihood of them being sanctioned because of the exceedingly high demand for these government contracts.Frankly, the individuals in this company with any type of moral compass should be ashamed of themselves for the severe inconvenience that their patterned failures appear to routinely create for service members and their families.
