I purchased a personal laptop 2 weeks ago to the date. I made the huge mistake of buying the tech service plan for a year for $129.99 which was marketed as including 1 year of McAfee ($109.00 value) for free...so basically $20.00 for tech services, OK. The problems started at check out; however, when the receipt for the Tech Service purchase did not provide the necessary code for the McAfee download. So after the in- house office depot rep. contacted the Tech dept. it was determined the transaction should be refunded (different call to billing- authorization via Corporate), and he should try the transaction again, differently. Same outcome, no code. After 2 hours in store, being billed twice now, and NO 1-year McAfee download to show for it, I leave behind the computer (even though the laptop comes with 30 days free McAfee protection) and return the next day. Day 2- Problem is still unresolved, but I do get an email assuring me a refund of the first transaction 129.99 within 7-10 business days, AND I would be contacted regarding the McAfee download (for a year), so I take the computer home.Well today, 2 weeks later mind you, I have yet to see my refund of the 1st $129.99 charged (Business day 11), NOR my McAfee download, so I call Tech Services. I spend another 2.5 hours on the phone with Accounts Management, in addition to replying to billing via my incident report number which shows a status of solved mind you, and inform them this is still very much an issue in spite of what should be (in my mind) a relative simple fix (provide me a link to download the McAfee year version product that was included in the tech plan which I already purchased (twice at this point) and simply refund one of the purchases. OR better yet, lets drop ALL of the Tech Services plan charges (what exactly am I paying for anyway if this issue has been too much to resolve timely?) I clearly would be better off upgrading McAfee on my own when my free trial is up. Still awaiting resolution... very disappointing.

Nice experience finding the chairs that needed replacing. The staff stayed with us throughout our trying several out. Staff then went to find them and brought them to the car then proceed to load them up for us. Very nice experience.

Every person I came in contact with made me feel like I was an extreme bother. Starting with the woman who looked me up and down when I walked into the store but didnt say hi, to the two sales ladies having a chat who made it obvious I interrupted their oh so important conversation and looked annoyed when I needed help, finally to the check out chick who ignored me and then just stared at me without saying a word. Learn some customer service skills!!

Horrible service. Was having trouble sending a fax. Five pages. Long distance. Not only did I NOT receive any help other than hang it up and try again three times from s clerk who was doing basically nothing I couldnt get the sheets to fax. Thank God. I went to Box King. What wouldve cost me $12.25 at Office Max cost me $3.00!!!!! Thats not even funny. Go to Box King. Office Max you should be ashamed. Unarmed robbery. I wish you had minus stars for this review.

We always purchased performance protection plan from OfficeMax for all the electronics at OfficeMax. One of the shredders stopped working recently and it is under factory warranty and OfficeMaxs protection plan. OfficeMax asked us to contact the factory, but factory will not fix it because it is not a defect. But OfficeMax is just giving us run-around and will not do anything until factory warranty expires (one year). OfficeMax (now office depot) is refusing to honor its contract. Buying any electronics from this store is a very very risky proposition. The warranty they sell is worthless.

Staff helpful and quick, especially in fax/copy area.

Would give it 0 stars if I could. Went there today to shop for school supplies with my 3 kids a display fell over with no one around it and 2 employees working on the shelves beside the display had the nerve to say that I needed to control my kids. I want to point out no one was near it when it had fallen. Wont shop there again and I will let other people know about the rude people who work there. Wont recommend this store and will let other people know theyre better off to shop else where.

Needed to send a fax worked out good

Had to return a false advertised product. One of the employees looked at me like Im idiot and didnt believe me. Both of us break words. Then He examined thoroughly the product hoping to prove me wrong which it took about more than 18mins. But in the end, Im right. Got my money back.
