Phil did a great job fixing my sons 1986 Ford Crown Vic. The AC is working great and he replaced the heater core...a couple of big jobs on such an old car! I wouldnt take my vehicles anywhere else in Sioux Falls for service. Friendly, honest, and timely with getting our car back!

I went here when I first moved to Sioux Falls and they were amazing! Got my oil changed here and even fixed a flat tire! I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Professional. Transparent. Up-front. Great phone etiquette. Limped off the interstate with a bad alternator at 3:00pm the Friday before 4th of July. These guys had us diagnosed and fixed inside of an hour and a half while maintaining their other customer base. No other shops we called even entertained the idea of trying to help. Amazing service. Highly recommend… these guys are pros.

Was looking to buy a used car, so brought it here to have it inspected first. They thoroughly inspected it from front to back, and after telling me it looks great, I bought the car. Since then Ive had all sorts of issues, many of which should have been pointed out (damaged radiator hose, bad strut, dangerously loose engine mount, etc.). They might do good work, but dont take your car here for an inspection, its a waste of money.

They are so wonderful I woukd recommend them to to anyone. I went in because my window wouldnt work and they were able to tell me what was going on and went above and beyond to make sure I was safe on the road, I had an issue with my barrings and hubs that couldnt have resulted in a really bad accident. They called me to let me know what was wrong and made sure I knew all costs up front. I took it in and they had it repaired the same day and made me feel safe and confident by answering my abundance of questions. I will never go anywhere else.

After spending almost $5000, they didnt even fix what was wrong with our car. These guys used to be a good shop to take your vehicle, but they have clearly gone downhill since the last time we had work that needed to be done.

I am in town for a few months and needed a coolant flush for my car. Even though they were full, they were able to squeeze me in. They explained to me what they were going to do and gave me the price upfront. They also helped me with a ride.These guys are honest and do the right things. I would definitely come back here again if I need more work done on my car!!!

While traveling through Sioux Falls we encountered a Compressor problem. Chriss Auto Repair diagnosed it quickly for us. We had a really great experience with them.

Had an electrical short under the dash of my BMW, took it to Chriss as they were listed on the BMW registry as an approved repair shop. I ended up having them fix my broken door handle and replaced both batteries as well. Few months later I had to go under the dash and was surprised to see the level of quality of the electrical repair. Everything was shrink wrapped, put back in place just as it was when new. Seriously fantastic work in a cramped area. I will certainly visit them again if (more likely when) something breaks on my car again. 5 star +++++ in my book.

While the owner replied to my review that he was unable to locate your name in our system, I have proof to the contrary. My experience with this business was poor. Dont take my word for it though, just get other quotes elsewhere for the same repairs and reach your own conclusions.

Went to them 1 weeks ago. Smoked in my car, didn’t tighten my power steering belt so I went home with out power steering, and my car has never had any engine codes come on, and now it’s saying my system is running lean. I just had them do one simple repair and they made it into multiply repairs that I’ll have to do on my own time.

I think I might of missed a few things that Chris and his experienced mechanics have done for us over the years. Edit: I am editing this review due to unreasonable quotes and misdiagnosis. I was told Id need a $5000-$6,700 repair because of a coolent leak. They said my head gasket was bad. I got another quote from a dealership in town and they said a head gasket replacement should never be that much, and an engine replacement wouldve been $2,800. I took my car into the dealership and they found that the issue wasnt even the head gasket, it was a cooling component for the oil that cost me only $800 to fix. Even if it was a head gasket, the dealership (which usually runs a high dollar amount) was many thousands below chris autos quote. In the words of the shark tank hosts, because of that, Im out.

I can’t say enough good things about Chris’ Auto Repair! I’m not well versed in this area but they explained everything with a TON of patience and never once made me feel unprepared for my decisions! They also had the most reasonable prices, and made sure to talk you through any questions you had! Even brought me back and showed me the problems so I could see for myself! I highly recommend, especially for those who are not an expert in car repair!!

I knew my car needed some suspension work. As always, I got two quotes.Chriss quoted the repairs at $4,650. The other shop, a long established company in Sioux Falls quoted the same repairs at $1,580. (Im not sharing the name of that business because I dont want them booked even further out than they are already)I have never seen such a shady and disgraceful price quote as Chriss Auto.Do yourself a favor and get multiple quotes. Its just too bad that Chriss charges $69 to give a quote. Thats the last penny they will ever see from me.

While I was doing some research on auto mechanics in the Sioux Falls area, I came across Chris’ Auto Repair. I had a diagnostic completed for new struts and wanted to find a local shop that would also provide a great price and quick service. I had already called a few places and asked not only pricing, but how soon the work could be done. Chris’ Auto broke down the pricing for me, let me know how soon the parts could be in, how long it would take, and could get me in the very next day. I was impressed by the quickness and the price was more than reasonable. When I dropped my car off, I was greeted professionally, had the quote price reiterated to me, and said they would call when it was done. When I was contacted that my car was done, in the amount of time they told me, I picked up my car and was extremely happy with the service. My car is riding better than it was when I bought it. I highly recommend bringing your car to Chris’ and will be going back for all future needs! Excellent job!!

Asked to change trans fluid with filters on my truck. Estimated price was 237$. Next morning they called me and told that price was not accurate and i have to pay 720$, because filters for RAM truck are special order. Of course I declined that kind offerSame day bought OEM mopar oil for 100$ from dealer and both filters with oil pan gasket for 30$ and spent 2 hours in my garage to change it.2 stars just because they gave me coupon for free engine oil change, which i will never use.Thanks for wasting my time

I and my husband were travelling from Chicago to Washington state. We started having problem with our Volswagen . Thought that got bad diesel . My husband is a trucker , those things happens all the time. So changed the filter ,still would go a mile and stop. Decided to go to repair shop .We are not locals , dont know which one, googled the shop. Called them , they said come in. We couldnt make it to the shop ( too many starts ,batteries couldnt take our abuse ::::),towed the vehicle. They did diagnostic , fuel pumps failed . Ordered the parts. This happened on Friday and the parts would be on Monday. So we decided to proceed with our trip to Washington by renting a car. The owner Chris took us to rental at no charge . Very nice guy. So we came back from Washington on Monday to the shop. Same Chris went to pick up the parts. The car was fixed same day. We hang all Monday around the shop , my husband is kind of picky , knows a lot about cars , semi trucks ,fixes himself a lot of things. He was asking lots lots of questions . Mechanics were very nice . They definitely know what they are doing. Very polite , professional ,excellent and fast service. Fair prices. No more to say.Guys like this we need in Chicago.

Was referred to Chriss by a friend for new tires. From beginning to end,they were nothing but great to work with! Shannon is a complete sweetheart who takes the time to make the process easy. This is a very nice small business that works great with their customers. I called the day before and got in the next day. Ive called at 4:45 pm in an emergency to get brakes done and they had me in at 10 am the next morning!

Best service ever!! We live out of town, but we were having a baby and had car issues. They not only took care of our issues, they did it fast, way cheaper than I thought they would/should charge us. Their communication was wonderful and they also clued us in about a different problem we would have soon! I wish I lived closer to them to make them our mechanic. They were wonderful and I would definitely recommend them!

Great and friendly. No shady or underhanded vibe here. Very trustworthy. I took my truck here twice and great service both times. 2nd time problem was outside price range but they gave me a great breakdown of the problem and was helpful and polite throughout. I could not recommend more.

Travis and Anthony are spectacular! Theyre simultaneously personable, professional and casual, making the experience less stressful, even enjoyable. They are rightfully proud of their dedication to the safety and satisfaction of the client. They remembered our names, returned calls as promised as well as communicated what they were going to do and did just what they said they would. They were very good at answering questions, and even encouraging regarding doing some of the needed repairs at home. I really like that they emailed the detailed summary to us. Overall the people at Chriss Auto made the experience of my truck repair easy and stress free . They were constantly in contact with me through the whole process. They were extremely kind and if I had any worries i could have them look at it to make sure everything was alright. In March of 19, when on a cross-country road trip my a/c compressor froze up and snapped the serpentine belt, requiring a new compressor and belt. Had my car towed to Chriss. His shop replaced the compressor and belt and after 2 days was back on the road, but only now discovered how I was taken. After nearly $1,500 with what was represented as a top-of--the-line compressor it started to make noise and really loaded the engine down. My local mechanic said it was a subprime, piece of sh#t compressor, metal filings throughout the system that apparently werent properly addressed, and when checking the invoice discovered nothing was itemized, just a flat fee $ for the labor and parts. Talk about taking advantage of a distressed out of down town traveler. If I was local Id not just never go back, but would consider legal action for fraud.

Phenomenal experience

Broke down on the first leg of a trip from Chicago to Seattle, and after having my car towed to the Audi dealership in Sioux Falls, I quickly found another option. They werent significantly less than the dealership, but they saved me additional time and got me back on the road quicker than the week ETA from the dealer. Best part, work is guaranteed and if I have this same problem in my home state, theres a 1-866 number I can call for a local shop. Sioux falls has a reliable and fair mechanic shop in this place!

I have never seen any mechanic shop that much friendly and helpful. I had a 2005 Honda Accord, and they have to fix it for months. They always value the customer satisfaction over money, I would love to take their service if I need to in future, and I would recommend them. They are obviously the best in Sioux falls.

Very friendly. Had my rear differential go out on me when I was here for work. Had to get it towed to these guys and they diagnosed the problem and instead of fixing the truck themselves they called the Chevy dealer for me to see if it was under warranty and it was. Super honest and very friendly

Brought my Volvo is a couple months ago, and the quality of the work done, was equivalent to a 6th grader. I was told no warranty of supplied parts which is fine, but I have found hose clamps that couldnt even be righted right, bolts, missing and now a car that leaks oil, no AC, and is a direct reflection of how this business feels about the customer.Thanks for the response Chriss Auto. When the vehicle left, the valve cover wasnt sealed properly, the a/c still does not work, and the vehicle did not leave operating correctly, my PCV box leaks right at the engine, your tech Richard did not even put a hose mount back on.Its okay though Ive found a much better mechanic and overall person who I can trust to repair the over 2,500 in poor repair work, and most of all the complete lack of detail, care, and concern of customers vehicle. I took my car to Chris for an oil change, and thinking I need rear breaks. After his shop took the time to throughly check the breaks, it was just dirty in there. Any place else would have changed the breaks costing a few hundred. Also, during this troublesome time , they made sure everything was clean and sanitized! I felt safe there.The expertises and honesty at Chris’s Auto is second to none!Thanks for all you guys do!

These guys are amazing. I broke down while here for work and theyre the only one who would take me in at short notice. They even called me a ride to get to my hotel, and a ride back once my car was done. They were honest with the diagnosis and fair priced. Ive seen many sketchy shops and they are far from it. If you have a choice where to go, choose these guys.

Chriss Auto Repair replaced my starter and solenoid about 8 weeks ago with new parts. The new solenoid had some issues, and I needed to get the car up and running quickly! I drove in, they went to work, and replaced the solenoid, starter and relay switch. No charge as the work was under warranty. I left happy and satisfied. They are reputable and I recommend them. I have an older car that I am trying to stretch the life on before I purchase a new vehicle. The staff worked with me to do what was needed without trying to convince me to spend more money. They truly seem like they run an honest business and I will definitely continue to use this shop.

Being a 20 year old girl who knows absolutely nothing about vehicles, Im always hesitant about bringing my car into a shop. I always feel out of place and have had auto shops use my lack of knowledge on cars to their advantage. But the staff here were beyond friendly and immediately made me feel comfortable. Something I had not experienced at any other auto repair shop (and Ive had to take my car to many in the past year)! As for my car, the news I got was not what I had hoped to hear and I ended up choosing not to have any repairs done due to the fact that the repairs exceeded the value of my car (I would be better off investing in a new one). But, when I purchase a new car, this will be the only shop I ever take it to!

My experiences with Chriss Auto Repair have been the best I have ever had with auto repair. Not only is the work of high quality, but the customer service is beyond anything I have experienced - Anthony explained everything that needed to be repaired in detailed terms I could understand and it all made sense. There was no attempt to sell services I didnt need, and I always felt he was honest and genuinely cared about my safety in the car. I initially chose this shop a few weeks ago to have them diagnose the ABS light showing up on my dashboard after I had read several reviews, all of which were excellent. I highly recommend this shop.

Great shop. Called at 1pm with what I thought was a coolant leak and they said if I could get there fast theyd at least be able to look at it and get me an estimate. Turned out to be the power steering pump. The quote was reasonable and backed by a warranty with road-side service included. They said they could have the part there in 20 minutes and have it fixed in a couple hours. Picked it up about 5:30 same day and its running great. Id definitely recommend them.

My family and I are traveling across the country and we broke down in Sioux Falls and had to stay in the truck stop overnight. Called Chriss in the morning and they went to work. Got us towed in, taken care of, and back on the road quickly. Super friendly folks and genuinely good people. The coffee was pretty good and strong as well haha.

First off, they deserve a 10 star rating. Not even joking. I have never met a more compassionate and caring group. Business is there game, but at the end statement they look at you as a human. They understand when you are down on your luck, they go above and Beyond there responsibilities. My family was coming into town from the Twin Cities area for a softball tourney on a Friday. Our van was overheating so we started calling auto shops in Sioux Falls. Chris and his crew were fantastic at being willing to help us on such short notice. From start to finish, including what we paid for the repairs, they were awesome. I took my Silverado in because it had a bad DF wheel bearing. They diagnosed, repaired, and had my truck back to me that same day. They also provided me with a ride back to work. It was all straightforward and stress-free. The costs were easy to understand and everything was explained very well as to what exactly was done and where the expenses came from.

On the morning of March 10th 2020, during a family emergency I was traveling across SD on my way towards SW Missouri.About 45 miles out of Sioux Falls I started having engine problems. Not familiar with the area, I pulled over and read the reviews and decided to call Chriss. I explained my situation to Shannon, the manager for Chriss. She said that if I could make it in, they would squeeze me into their schedule.I arrived about an hour later with a little apprehension because the facility is unassuming---however, they were clearly busy (a good sign) and I didnt have much choice. My concern was quickly gone as they immediately took my vehicle in, diagnosed the problem, (without trying to up-sale me on other items--I was pretty sure what was wrong with my truck) and after giving me an estimate on the cost, got to work.About 3.5 hours later the owner, Chris, personally test drove my vehicle, double checked the work, and said that I was good to go. (The price was just a little less than quoted and was within the lower range of the national average for what they did.) I then headed on to my destination in time to take care of my family. Shannon texted me later to make sure that everything was good.I definitely recommend Chriss if you have a problem They did an outstanding job for me, especially considering how I was under a time constraint with a sick loved one waiting for me. These guys are fantastic! I was 800 miles from home and had a major issue that needed to be fixed before I went any further. I didnt have an appointment - just called early in the morning and was told to come on in - they pulled out all the stops and worked extra hard to get my car back on the road that day. They didnt try to sell me stuff I didnt need, and were upfront about everything. The mechanics who worked on my car did a great job. Anthony and Travis in the office were wonderful and accommodating, seriously top-notch customer service. They even followed up with me a few days later to make sure I made it home safely. Only reason I changed to Chriss Auto was I had been referred because of the top notch service from manager Shannon. Unfortunately I was informed when I called today she was no longer there. Was not impressed with service from techs as mistakes were made the last two times I was in but knew I could trust management to make sure things were done and made right. Unfortunately that is no longer the case so I will be finding a new mechanic and oil change place for future services.

Nothing but absolute amazing service. Anthony took almost a half hour answering all questions and going over what he did with my car with certainty and knowledge. The things hes willing to do for myself and my family are beyond average which means everything to us. After moving here and needing a mechanic that will do exactly as we want and need Chriss auto goes over and beyond to do exactly what we ask. I would recommend Chriss Auto to absolutley anyone knowing they would be well taken care of.

While traveling through South Dakota on our way to a medical conference our car which was being towed by our motor home experienced a battery problem and would not start. The car needs to be started periodically to prevent transmission damage. Based on good reviews my wife called Chris after hours and left a voice message explaining our situation. Chris called back a few minutes later and said to meet him at his shop at 7 am. We did, and he quickly identified the main battery fuse was blown. It is a quick and easy repair to replace the fuse, however there were none in Sioux Falls, so Chris found a fuse in a junkyard in an adjacent town. The car started when the fuse was installed, and we were on the road by 12:30. Chris charged us only about an hours worth for his efforts!

Chris’s auto is truly a honest fair auto repair shop. I went in to get a quote on a replacement steering box and was a little hesitant about having to go in and have it looked at where others quoted over the phone. Well I was grateful they did. They went and did a thorough inspection and found some steering parts that were in dire need of replacement (I did know they were bad just not that bad). They were quick to get me in and did a great job. I will definitely be back for jobs I don’t want to tackle. Thanks Chris and the guys!

I was traveling from Seattle to Philadelphia and my car was losing oil fast. I was stranded and these guy made sure to diagnose my car right away. They went above and beyond anything Ive seen in a service station. Anthony was genuine and honest and most importantly these guys really know the technical side of automobiles. I more than recommend them!

They seem to inflate the cost of repairs and exaggerate what repairs are necessary for their warranty. Someone I know hit a curb going pretty slow and did some damage to one of the wheels. Inner tie rod needed to be replaced, and maybe a few other things, such as hub assy. They thought that everything that is aluminum from the manufacturer was compromised and needed to be replaced with steel parts. They wanted to replace all four wheels in addition to other unnecessary work for a grand total of $13k. Just ridiculous.Edit: I decided to bump it up from a one star review to two stars because no labor/repairs were performed. I do believe that if the work was completed it would have been quality work. However, after having read the estimate, I still stand by what I originally said about the inflated cost of repairs. I understand the business has to make a profit and has certain profit margins. I also understand the business model of providing a warranty. This is just my honest, unbiased (not upset) third party opinion. I personally would not recommend this service. I do however recommend rotating your tires regularly and using decent tires!

Above and beyond. The entire staff went above and beyond anything I’ve could have asked for. After I blew my transmission, the whole team rallied around me and my wife to make sure we were taken care of while we were in the midst of a cross country move. I originally chose them because of their stellar Yelp reviews and their service proved why customers love them. Trustworthy, hardworking mechanics.

I can’t say enough great things about Chris’s Auto Repair! I recently had them put new tires on my truck and the experience was unmatched. They actually came and picked my truck up (across town) to get the job done on a Friday after I made some schedule changes earlier in the day! These guys are serious contenders in the auto repair business. I brought my 2011 Mercedes Benz E350 4matic in for a thermostat issue. They had it done in just a few hours. When my coolant low light popped on I just swung by and the tipped off the coolant with genuine Mercedes Benz coolant. The skills are top notch, and I feel they are leading the industry in service. Bring back the true Service Station of times gone by. Thanks guys for providing a better option to the dealership.

They fixed my car fast, and for a good price.

This was the absolute worst experience i have ever had. They claim to change my fuel pump and fix a leak in my antifreeze which costing me $1,400 little over. Still I have an antifreeze leak now oil leak and my car still wont start I have to jump my car every morning and my vehicle has only gotten worse since I dropped it off to Chriss Auto when I called to get things fixed they refuse to do anything about it and they were very rude and then refuse to talk to me after I continue to call to make things right. Still saying they made repairs ky vehicle wad lookedover by master micanic an the things they claim were never even touched

I am from out of town on a college visit for my daughter when my truck starts to run rough, so I show up at Chriss shop on a Friday night a half hour before closing, not only did they diagnosed the problem very quickly they were able to get parts delivered and installed while staying after hours to do so when all along they could of said no, thats excellent customer service in itself but it gets better, I leave Friday night thinking my truck is all good but I still find it running a little rough on Saturday morning so I message them and Anthony calls me back and has me meet him at the shop (remember they are supposed to be closed on Saturdays) their mechanic Mike comes in and they do some more testing and figure out I have another problem, they get some different parts and get my truck running like a top so I can make it back home, its been a few weeks now and I havent had anymore issues! I cant thank Chris and his team enough for helping me and my family when we needed it the most, all of his guys are honest and hardworking, Sioux Falls is lucky to have a shop like this!! thanks again!

He was going to charge me 700$ when there was absolutely nothing wrong with my car. Im glad I took my car to billion auto instead and they told me your car is doing just fine. So be aware when u take your car there. Dont drop hints as to what might be wrong with your car or they will make you a fake bill. Dont let the 5 star rating fool you

My wife and mother and law have both come here. You can’t find a better service in Sioux Falls. Whatever you need they will get it done quickly and cheaply! We absolutely love this place and won’t go anywhere else.

These guys are great. Had a crew cab long bed dually that needed a lot of work after a pretty bad accident and these guys did excellent work on it. This company is Class Act. Great communication and follow up through the whole process. Hard to find nowadays, highly recommended. Thank you!

WOW! Great service every time-Anthony and Travis have taken great care of my husband and I. We have both had a ton of random issues with our cars in the last year and we were just pouring money into it until we came to Chriss based on my father -in-laws recommendation, then we started seeing results and our cars are doing so much better. I bought a minivan from a lot in Sioux City and the next day had the engine light come on. The van went from running great to horrible instantly. Called several shops all predicted major diagnostics and repair costs. Anthony at chris’s In the other hand calmed me down had me bring the van in, explained that it “could be” a lot of things and promised that we would figure it out without racking up the bill. Did they deliver? Hell yes! He kept me informed every step of the way before making any repairs or billing me. Not only did they repair a multitude of issues, he told me what could and couldn’t wait, got me financing for the repairs and back on the road within hours, they even gave me a ride home while they worked on it. Thanks to the folks at Chris’s, I was able to make my daughter’s concert. Finally a shop that knows what they are doing and cares about people. My new mechanics period!
