Upstate Karate is, undoubtedly, the absolute best martial arts school in the upstate. My son has been attending this school since age five (now, age twelve); we love the program, the instructors, and staff.

My grandson loves this place. Everyone is excellent with children.

The Thompsons have built a true gem in Simpsonville. Their passion for helping our community raise happy, healthy, well rounded children has been going strong for almost 40 years. They make the upstate a better place to live!

I’m a student who used to go here and I sadly quit but I highly recommend it bc it does work out, discipline, and last you learn self defense and I wish I can join back in a way and mr Steven is a really nice teacher and knowing how mr tony lives in my neighborhood I feel like I should catch up to him

Our family loves this school. Their kids program for Karate is phenomenal. Ive never seen so many kids eager to learn and listen. They really have a way with kids. From kempo, to kickboxing, Brazilian jujitsu, and MMA, they are definitely are worth every penny. I highly recommend!

Best in the state for Kids and families

I go there right now and Mr.Tony is super nice I really enjoy it! even tho I broke my collarbone there I still love it!

Really takes the time to work with the kids.

The kids very much enjoy it. I enjoy the discipline and training. My wife enjoys the view. Wish it were less expensive but were investing in it for the kids and the world theyll engage.

An excellent Karate program, great staff, good quality after school and summer camps. You will get good quality for what you pay... and the high cost is the only downside to Upstate Karate.

Upstate Karate is a fantastic place for everything from kids karate to adult karate or BJJ an fitness classes. Ive trained there for 3 years and Ray Thompson is a real professional. Stephen and Tony are incredible with the kids. They really manage to create a family and newcomer friendly environment at the same time as they provide a high level of technical training. With multiple home grown professional fighters, the training is clearly high level.

Love Upstate Karate. A truly special place. My son really has learned specific moves that he can use to defend himself at school from bullies ... without hurting himself or the other child. When you see what they learn, you think how much sense it makes. All children should go through this training.

Excellent family owned business in Simpsonville. Several programs available from the little tots through adult classes. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
