The location is beautiful, the service was amazing. The food is small portions and overpriced.I ordered the chicken cobb salad and the chicken was not the best quality, and I could count the number of romaine lettuce leaves. I am not a cheap person, but I know when Im being overcharged. I wouldnt have minded eating a half size portion if the taste was amazing, but it just was okay. I didnt mind so much because what I wanted from my lunch experience was a great place to sit and talk with my friend outside. The views are lovely and the service is 5-stars, very attentive. I just feel like the food was a let-down.

We absolutely love this place, we bring our kids here for plays, we bring our friends here for events, and we bring our family here for Theatre.We love all of the different seating arrangements, generally there are seats that have great views from every angle. The outdoor theater is it’s own experience with tons of viewing angles as well.The prices are always reasonable and the performances are always top notch. If you are visiting San Diego or a local we definitely recommend watching different types of events here.Plus after you’re done you can grab something to eat around the corner at Panama 66, which has incredible food and excellent outdoor eating. Then you can take a stroll around Balboa Park which has lots to see for both adults and children. We love the location of this theater as much as we do the theater itself.

We went to see How the Grinch stole Christmas. Fantastic venue. Parking can be difficult

If you have a chance to attend the annual free tree lighting event, do it. Tickets sell out and standby lines are long. Once inside there are lots of festive treats and adult beverages for sale at good prices. The short performance by the Who children and the Grinch are adorable!

FOUR STARS because after all these years of being situated here, since the mid 1930s, youd think that they wouldve come up with a better solution for decent parking.I see many senior attendees having to walk a LONG distance, they have a golf cart shuttle, for those PAYING EXTRA for valet services.Also, if youre using Lyft or Uber there can be a great level of confusion because there are two different spots that are available for pick up but they are FAR apart. Uber/Lyft maps lead most drivers to OLD GLOBE WAY while passengers not familiar with Balboa Park expect to be picked up at EL PRADO.Pay attention to the map and make clear to your Uber/Lyft driver where you wish to be picked up.Arriving via OLD GLOBE WAY can get you closer but drivers can be confused because there is signage saying employee traffic only.

Wonderful plays, Shakespeare every year and beautiful during the holidays. This year they had the grinch and another Christmas play. A beautiful theater with great service and many excellent shows throughout the year.

Love seeing entertainment at this location. Balboa Park is very cool. What a gem of a place to enjoy locally. Prados has excellent food and drinks.

Great Staff, great plays, saw The Lorax last year and just now saw The Tale of Despereaux.

This is a play to take in a play.

We dont go as often as wed like but its always a treat to see an Old Globe Shakespeare production. The outdoor stage is magic on a warm summer night.
