Went in last week and had 7 sunshine mint Buffalo rounds i wanted to liquidate. At the time silver was 26.16 spot price. I asked if he would buy them and he said for 24 a round. Well I called another place that buys silver and gold right up the street. and he gave me 26 per round. I know its not much but when I asked harry how much he would sell them for and he said between 30 and 35 I knew right there that he was a real scammer. Save your time and go somewhere else. I understand you want to make money but atleast be fair about it.

What a fantastic couple of guys, I took a pair of my wife’s earrings in for repair this morning, within five minutes the job was done, unfortunately I had no cash on me, and the minimum card transaction was $20, (Shows how reasonable there charges are), I offered to leave the earrings and go get cash but these guys just told me to drop the cash in whenever I was passing, it’s great to know people still have some trust, naturally I went and got the cash and took it back straight away.Thank you to both of you ,use these guys they deserve our custom.

I went by Harrys today to sell some foreign coins I had laying around. I got a fair price for them and bought a handful of silver coins. The guy with the sleeve tattoos actually taught me about market prices, which was really cool of him. While the shop is small, it has earned no complaints from me. If a customer ask when there watch will be ready after you have gotten the part to properly fix it, you should apologize for inconvenience and not give excuses. I have been to Harrys a handful of times to sell a few pieces here and there, mostly utensils and jewelry. I went in this week with a gold charm bracelet, a pin, a few odd coins. The younger man gave me an estimate of $5.50. I was pretty bummed out. I decided to get a second opinion and went into TEXAS Coin and Jewelry 126 W. RECTOR #100 78216 - my pin and bracelet totaled almost $600 - Ask for Tom!

The selection Harry’s Coins has is excellent. I have also used them to repair an old watch of mine, and I was pleasantly surprised how quickly they got the job done. I am not much of a coin collector, but I did ask about coins for my cousin, and I plan on telling him about Harry’s too, cause they really treat you fairly.

Bottom Line: Great customer service with an interesting selection in precious metals and gem stones with honest prices. Local, family owned and operated small business!Offered better bid and ask prices on my precious metals than even APMEX. I like APMEX, but he exceeds them in pricing and customer service. Needed to sell our holdings to put together earnest money for a new house. He was honest and personable. He was much more honest and upfront than the folks working the coin shop at Balcones Heights. I took a tad less than others offered, but I would favor a family owned small business (passed from father to son) with good ethics and customer service over anyone else. When we have money to invest (after we close and set up house) in either straight bullion (Silver Eagles for example) or want to find some neat Numismatic (coin collector) rarities at a good price, I’m heading to Harry’s!!!

Had a ring resized a couple of months ago. The solder material is obviously not correct as it is now two solid 1mm black lines clearly demarking where the ring was cut and rejoined. If I remember I will update this later with the assessment from another jeweler on what exactly they did wrong to ruin the ring.UPDATE: New jeweler (Rialto Jewelry) said that the solder was either not the appropriate metal or maybe it was just a poor mixture (they couldnt tell without knowing exactly what it was). They cut out the entire section and resized the ring again (for cheaper than Harrys first attempt). Harrys solder likely turned after going swimming with the ring. I swim a lot. Ive been swimming multiple times with the ring since Rialto fixed it, and it has not turned colors at all.
