Not only did he save me $200 on repairs by fixing (not replacing) a rear hub, he went out of his way NOT TO create landfill waste, but save my wheel. I have a simple bicycle that I purchased at Fort Sam Houston but the two times I have been in this store I have been treated as if i owned a top of the line Trek. So dont feel embarrassed because Bike World will be happy get you back to riding on the road regardless of what bike brand you choose. I purchased a lock here a couple of months ago and the employee was helpful as she explained various locks in detail. Today my tire came loose after a morning bike ride and the employee fixed my problem in 5 seconds! I did purchase a phone mount and he opened it and placed it on my bicycle. What a nice person. My husband and I are visiting San Antonio for a few days to explore the bike paths. The battery became stuck and wouldn’t go in or out and the key was stuck on myTrek Allant+7 e-bike. Called Bike World 30 minutes before closing and they got us in, fixed the problem (a clamp screw had come out), and adjusted the battery compartment. It’s only a 2 month old bike so they did it for no charge. Efron, Mario and the staff were super friendly. Highly recommend them and will remember them for my next bike purchase, even though I live 500 miles away.

Bike World at the Pearl has a wide variety of bikes, bike parts, and other bike related items. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.

I was not disappointed at all and I’m grateful for everyone’s help. However, I realize my bike was not bought from Bike World and did feel a bit of tension with my technician, Mario, after calling twice to find out the status after a week and a half. I bought a bike that needed to be assembled (it was sent from another state) and just wanted it checked out. Mario called later that day after dropping it off and gave me an estimate of over $400 for tune up and other new parts. After what I paid for this used bike, I wasn’t prepared for that extra expense. So he said instead we could leave out new disc brakes (which happen to still be just fine) and brought the price down to $300 plus. It feels like now that more San Antonians are into biking, the biggest bike shop is also becoming a bit pretentious. I lived in other cities where biking has been the norm for many years and was treated with more humility.So, the day I picked up my bike (I had not received a call that it was ready) but went ahead and showed up and Mario didn’t bring out my bike(he was there), but Efron or another nice guy(sorry, didn’t get his name) did bring it out and said it was good to go. So, the best I can say about my experience is Efron was very professional and courteous. He and other nice guy helped me get my bike on my roof rack. I ended up paying $331.90.

Mario was as knowledgeable as he was helpful. When I came in I told him I was working on a fixer upper Mongoose frame, but it was missing a bolt for the front axle. He explained that these bolts are far from universal, varying widely even within the same brand name, but he might have something in the back from the description I gave him. His shot in the dark proved dead on as it fit perfectly on my bike. He did an awesome job managing my expectations, and providing as much help as possible despite me asking for a $4 part. Bravo all around Bike World. Id give you guys 6 stars if I could.

He took the time to explain everything to us about our new bicycles and let us test ride multiple models to find the ones we ended up purchasing. He was also able to get the bicycles checked out and built in my wife’s bicycles case. Overall it was a great experience and we will bringing our bicycles back to this shop for maintenance or in the eventuality that we purchase new bicycles in the future we will be returning here to do so.

I can’t say enough great things about this particular bike shop. I have been to all locations and this one by far has the best team working. They are friendly and knowledgeable. Being a new cyclist it is intimidating to enter a bike shop and receive snobby service when they realize you need eduction. Not Efren and Ezekiel.... they are so eager to help anyone no matter what experience level you are at. I would like to mention this bike shop is the furthest from my home but I would drive many miles for good quality service.

Im not surprised this place has 5 stars with 100+ reviews. I had lost 3 out of 5 gear bolts miles away from home before realizing it and wouldnt have made it home if they werent there to help. I was greeted at the door by staff, they helped wheel my bike in, and replaced the bolts for free, tightened the original two. Awesome service, everyone was super friendly and helpful.

Despite the fact that the store was busy, Jedidah was kind enough to ask me how he could help and pointed me to an immediate solution. While the transaction was quick, Jedidah gave me his full attention and had me back out the door in under five minutes. Thats a great thing....as my wife and I were just heading out on a ride and she was ready and waiting on me. Thanks Jedidah!

High quality bike rentals at low cost.

This place is great, especially Efren. I was traveling the country in an RV and was leaving San Antonio that day when my 12 year-old daughter told me that her bike wasn’t working. Sure enough the cables were frayed and busted up so the gears wouldn’t work. This could have been a nightmare because we were on a jam packed adventure of the country with lots of stops and limited time.I called Bike World and spoke to Efren. He said they could get me in on the following Tuesday. I told him my situation and he told me to come right down. He fixed the bike WHILE WE WAITED and charged me so much less than I expected! It was the 3rd of July and a Friday no less, so I’m sure they were jammed.Efren and his crew are the type of people that care about biking and their customers and really go out of their way to help you. I can’t recommend these guys enough. Thank you Efren.

Easily my go-to location for everything bike/cycling related. Always a great selection and ability to order if not in stock. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly; I never felt pressured to buy or up sold on what I was looking for. It’s obvious that the staff enjoy what they do and their enthusiasm makes for a much more inviting environment for customers (especially those that are new to cycling). Most recently, I worked with Ezquiel on a new single speed Retrospec and he was beyond helpful. Definitely recommend!

I went to this place yesterday to get a bike for my daughter for Bike Rodeo at school. Im not a professional bike rider and have very limited information on bike. The guy at the store (I wish I knew his name) helped me a lot to find an appropriate and safe bike for my daughter . He gave us different options with precise information. He also helped me to find the safe helmet for her. He even let my daughter to practice the new bike at store and did proper adjustments. The quality of bike is amazing. My daughter is so excited for her new bike. She had a couple of bikes before that none of them was as convenient as this one. I highly recommended this place.

Was visiting from out of town with a bike that had all new rims, tires, and tubeless setup performed the day before back home (another shop). The rear tubeless was not done appropriately at the other store and the tire was going flat on my ride here in San Antonio, so I came to Bike World for a tube to get me through the day. I just needed a tube put in but they came back out from the repair area with it still in tubeless mode and said it was no longer leaking and was fixed. Pleased but somewhat skeptical, I rode down the road, and not even a mile away it was already flat and leaking worse than before. Came back here for a tube (like was supposed to happen the first time) and got put in a perpetual wait cycle while they tended to new customers coming through the door despite me bringing it to their attention that they were waiting on person after person that came in behind me. Apparently they don’t comprehend the idea of honoring previous work done first and foremost when they didn’t do it correctly (or per agreement) the first time. When I pointed out that this was a return visit, the manager (Ephraim) then seemed to think he needed to school me on how proper business is supposed to be conducted, etc. As a quality director of many years, I think I have a pretty good idea of how customer service is supposed to flow, but hey, who am I to say? For me, customer care and standing behind workmanship is more important than chasing the next dollar with the next customer, but I guess that’s dinosaur thinking nowadays (or at least at this shop).

These guys were great in my rental process. They were very friendly, made sure the bike fit me, and directed me to the wonderful 30-mile ride on the San Antonio River Trail. I enjoyed the Trek hybrid I rented, one of the best rental bikes Ive ridden.

I took my bike in in the afternoon and asked if they could fix the brakes. They said their service center was closed but replaced my bike’s brakes anyway! Took maybe 8 minutes, didn’t cost much & they were all super nice. Everyone was wearing a mask.

My experience with the entire staff was awesome they really gave me and my 2 buddies a great deal and are satisfied with our purchases.... I will be honest when I picked up my bike I noticed the tires were the wrong kind BUT this was because the manufacturer sent the wrong ones. A tidy store with knowledgeable staff. I came by during the Trekfest sale and got a good deal on a used Trek FX bike and some accessories from the pro shop. Overall a good shopping experience, but I did find some damage to the handlebars that was not pointed out to me when I asked for an overview of any damage that the bike had.The shops location is very conveniently located right by the Pearl and a short walk from downtown. However, I feel theyve outgrown the space and could really benefit from some additional square footage. I had to go to this location to pick up the used bike I was interested in, but if youre buying new, consider going to the location on Military Drive where they have more space and appear less busy.I will definitely be returning here for any tune-ups or maintenance.

My son and I went into bike world today with a couple of friends who are avid bike riders. They told us how kind, and helpful the staff were at this location. I was looking forward to the first bike ride in over 8 years! I had my hopes set on the little kid trailer on the back of a rented bike. Unfortunately they were out of the trailers. Jax and I were about to leave (with my son in tears, he is only 4) when one of the employees suggested that we try a different set up with a smaller bike attached behind my bike. I was so excited! He absolutely saved the day. My son and I rode with our friends for over 3 hours and had such a fun time together. I will be purchasing a bike from this location soon.
