Arturo is a great at his work. Very detailed and took his time to make sure my hair turned out well, which it did. I’m glad they provide other services too like the waxing. Will definitely come back next time. Hopefully shaving services will come back by then.

I generally get the Classic haircut and Ive had my hair cut all over this big USA and nothing compares to the friendly, fast and professional customer service she provides. She takes the time to consider what looks right and executes her haircut vision perfectly every time. Now on the location itself , everything from the warm greeting you receive when you walk in, to the offer of a beverage to enjoy while you wait, Its all wonderfully crafted and delivered. When you consider the Stylist expertise, the locations wonderful atmosphere and cleanliness the price is just right. Heres to many future great haircuts and experiences.

Edit - they contacted me after this review and were very helpful wanting to fix the problem. I had paid for an executive cut, which was supposed to include a hot stone massage and towels, which he didn’t get. They refunded the difference and apologized for the lapse in service. They offered to have him come back in and meet with their stylist Ashley to fix the hair. We came back in yesterday and Ashley was so gracious and kind and did an absolute fantastic job of fixing up his hair. This was the standard we were expecting and are very thankful they took the initiative to right the wrong. We will go back in the future!They did the SLOPPIEST job on my boyfriends hair. For $60 you’d think they’d at least style it. He had long hairs that were missed around his ears, uneven fading and generally a very awful haircut. We were both very disappointed. We asked to keep his top length and they did not. The cut looks fuzzy and not tidy. So very disappointed.

Ive had great experiences with 18/8. Staff is always kind and courteous. Mitra has been cutting my hair. I highly recommend her. She does an excellent job.

18/8 is worth it and is always a great experience. Ask for/schedule with Mitra. She takes her time to understand what you want, is experienced, and makes sure you are happy with it each time. Overall, the location is clean and the staff is always nice.

Walked in with the longest hair and walked out with the worst hair cut ever. I don’t think the stylist knew how to cut. Big time mistake for not checking reviews on the stylist.

A few days ago my boyfriend got a haircut with a stylist by the name of Arturo, it was exactly what he wanted and afterwards he came home feeling like a new man! We also like that this place is conveniently close to where we live.

First time I went there my haircut was only meh. But the second time was on point.

Jackie did a really good job on helping me find a hairstyle. I hadnt had a haircut since right before Covid hit. She did an amazing job. Also Arturo does a really good job at beard trimming. Took his time and it came out looking great

This is the second time Ive been to this location and both times makes me not want to go back. I scheduled the relaxation package costing about $140 total. My experience was not relaxing at all. On top of that some of the things included in the package I did not receive. The stylist was whiping my head around and bouncing it back and forth. The only relaxing parts were when she wasnt working on Me. I didnt even finish the whole package because I couldnt sit there anymore. The only good thing that came out of this was the manager making things right for me. They didnt charge me anything because of the experience I had. At least that made me feel better. I was very upset thinking I was going to pay a lot of money for an awful experience.

Always a great experience and care. Mitra is my favorite barber; she does amazing work and is friendly. I will continue to be a customer here.

I only went once, so my experience is just for the one visit and the one stylist.The hair cut was fair. About as good as Knock Outs. It was uneven after the first try, but when I pointed it out she corrected it.I specifically went here to get a beard trim and beard coloring. They were not offering razor shaves at the time. I understand why, but was still a little disappointed.The beard trim was fine.But, the beard coloring was terrible. I asked for her to take out most of the grey, but leave a little. She applied the gel, let it sit for quite some time, them just wiped it off with a towel.A half hour later, the beard had turned solid black and was so dark it looked like it was drawn on with a sharpie. It was so dark, it even got laughs the next day at work in our Zoom meetings.For $150 hair cut, I expected more. I will stick with Diesel for now.

Was going to the same hairdresser for many years and decided to venture out. Came across 188 at Huebner Oaks and booked an appointment with Arturo as he had an open appointment available. Best decision Ive made in a minute! Arturo is professional, listened to what I wanted, and executed with gentle care and precision. Everything from booking (online) to paying was seamless and youll definitely leave feeling fresh!

This place is very nice. I feel like the haircut I got was handled with the kind of attention to detail that mens hair does not often receive. The staff was very nice. I was offered a beer. They had some other drink options as well. I enjoyed my experience very much. If I ever visit the area again, Ill be sure to make an appointment.

I got my haircut here after scheduling an appointment with brianna the friendly receptionist. My haircut was with Martha, and she was great. She was very good at making sure that I got exactly what I wanted from my haircut! I recommend this place!

Horrible haircut! A barber cut my hair. I expressed to her exactly how I wanted my haircut and she did not follow any instructions. It took 3 months to grow my haircut back to decent shape. I will never go back and not recommend anyone.

Hi, after 3 months of not getting a haircut (when I was used to getting one twice a month), I was very excited to finally get it done. One of my friends recommended me to go to this salon, and it looked like a great place, but the haircut that I received was not what I wanted/asked for, nor was it worth the price. While the stylist was nice/personable, she did not do what I asked/showed pictures of, had to correct it several times after I noticed patches of longer hair in some areas, among other things. I left and was not pleased. I wish I had experienced what others have at this salon.

I have been using this location for the past 3 years. I have never had a bad experience, the staff is amazing. Shout out to Martha, the only one I trust with my hair and beard.

Ive going here for haircuts for a couple months now. The receptionist, Bri, who has been there every visit, has always been very welcoming. Martha, the stylist Ive been using, is fantastic!

Great haircuts. Got tired of haircuts I thought were good until I went home and shampooed. So, I paid a little more and got a quality haircut.Martha is awesome. Had her trim my beard a couple of times, too. She provides good suggestions and does great work.Had another guy trim my beard up to look like White Goodman from Dodgeball. . .see the picture. . .yes, I did wear it better!

Worst haircut ever! Wanted to give this a couple days but WOW! Actually brought in photos and she scalped me. Save your money, no better than great clips. Have family pictures this week and I will be wearing a hat.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed in this place. While the haircut was good the “luxury” experience lacked. They advertise a 45 min session and guarantee a relaxing experience. My appointment was at 1:15 and I was out of the chair by 1:30. My stylist cut my hair very quickly and gave very little effort on the massage. For $50 I expected a lot more time and attention. Won’t be returning.

Ive had trouble over the past couple years finding and keeping a stylist who will cut my hair the way I want it vice a cookie-cutter cut. I saw the shop one day while driving thru the Rim and, when it came time for my next cut, I looked them up on line. Did some research and liked what I read. The price seemed a bit high but Ive paid the same elsewhere so... I booked an appointment with Deb. I was a bit apprehensive but when I met Deb and she began by asking how I wanted my cut and then clarifying my response, I knew I had found the place. When all was said and done, I was VERY satisfied with the service and will DEFINITELY be a regular!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Now this is a proper barber shop. The entire experience, from start to finish, is prime.Everything is comfortable, the haircut experience feels luxurious, the haircut itself is always good, and it seems like the keep a solid line of hair products. Certainly worth a try if youre looking for a good barber shop in San Antonio.

Marisol got me in VERY last minute and saved me from a Sport Clips haircut. She had me in and out quickly (we were headed to a wedding) and delivered one of the best cuts Ive ever had. Thanks Marisol. I did not get the name of the employee working the front but she was fantastic as well.All around phenomenal establishment.

This place is amazing. Ive been twice now. Jackie cut my hair the first time; Martha cut it the second. They were both fantastic. You have your choice of beers, soft drinks, and water while you wait... Then the show really begins. The stylists spend a lot of time and attention on you, and they know their craft well! My favorite part of the haircut is definitely the shampoo/conditioner/hot towel treatment at the end... Surpassed only by the amazing haircut staring back at you when theyre done. Go here. You wont be disappointed.

Worse customer service. Came in and no one was the front desk counter to great. No acknowledgement from stylist standing there. Waited 12 min for someone never came. This is the exact reason I go to the 18|8 at Huebner. Always disappointed with this location. Thought I’d give it another chance my mistake

Ashley is amazing, she did a great job on my straight razor shave. She went above and beyond making sure I was looking Sharp for my wedding. Wish I lived in the area so she could be my permanent Barber.

Got an amazing haircut and style from Amber! She crushed it! I enjoyed a few beers and was treated very well, even though I initially went to the wrong location and was 20 min late!! Will definitely go back and highly recommend Amber! She is amazing! They also have legit barbers if that is your thing too! I’ve been in San Antonio for over 2 yrs no and I finally have a hair stylist. Woot woot!

My Sunday was off to a rough start and luckily the very helpful Cheyenne squeezed me onto their schedule for the morning with a stylist named Amber. I have had the worst luck going to some other salons (not mentioning bc I’m nice) that are known for quick service but not quality service. Amber was literally so sweet and extremely professional! She took her time with me to accomplish probably one of my favorite haircuts and even took note of what she did for me after so we can continue the legacy lol I walked away with a rad new place to get a haircut and also a new stylist! I would & will recommend to my guy friends in the area. Very happy with the experience. Thanks again Ms. Amber :) PS: discount cuts for students/military!!!

A great place for guys that like next-level service but dont care for the typical salon setting. The lounge has complimentary beer and chilled beverages, and the price point is good for the service you get. If youre tired of the typical chop-shop haircut experience, or new to town and looking for good stylist, I recommend giving this place a try.

Love getting my haircut here, especially from Ashley. She’s very friendly and fun to talk to. They have free waters and sodas when you come in. However, they typically don’t have walk-ins because their clients book before online at the website. But you might be lucky one day, or call ahead if it’s your first time going.

I was able to schedule an appointment and get a style change. The appointment was great. My stylist listened to my ideas and made it come true. The atmosphere was great and professional They even offered me snacks and drinks while I waited for my appointments. I wouldnt take a kid there its a mens shop and they cater to adult men not kids.

Place is great, nice style, nice people. Tommie is wonderful to talk to and the only person to ever cut my strange hair and make it look good. Fantastic experiance at good a price.

This place is really fancy and the prices show it. Everyone was really nice and it would be a good place to go for a special treat but I can find a haircut just as good at a cheaper price somewhere else. I did the gentleman shave and it was very nice treat but not so that I can do on a regular basis.

THE WORST!First time I tried 18/8 there was a two year old getting their hair cut. A two year old at a Mens salon???? The kids screamed the whole time! The barber college would have been better.Decided to give this place a second try. The stylist was so busy talking that she cut my ear. This place is a joke. Go anywhere else!

I am from dallas. Came to San Antonio for work reasons. Been here for 3 months. I tried 3 different places to get a hair cut. I didnt like none of them. A friend of my, I work with at Glorias told me about this place about 2 buildings up from us. I decided to give it a try. I called to make appointment the gentleman was nice and courteous over the phone. He was able to book me right away. I showed up for my appointment. Has I walk through the door, I was greeted with friendly smiles. The place has a great atmosphere. Martha introduced her self as my stylist for today, with a great smile. She ask me a lot of questions about my hair. How I comb it? Whats the look I trying to go for? She was very polite, and patient with me. Martha is a very skilled, and detailed. Over all I had a great experience, and will becoming here for the rest of my stay in San Antonio. Ask for Martha

I visited this place for the first time last week and after my haircut I realized it was not properly tapered/faded and there were clear lines up the sides and back of my head. I was wearing a hat so didn’t want product in my hair before leaving. When I got home and did my hair the next day one half on the top of my head was an 1”+ longer then the other half.I had to go to a different barbershop to fix it and they had a good laugh at how bad the previous haircut was. For $40 it was very disappointing.On a positive, the establishment is very clean and has a good atmosphere. If only they could give an acceptable haircut...

Best mens cut Ive had in a while. Never see or hear a complaint from the stylist when I ask them to cut it a little shorter multiple times.

Sarah and Ashley are just amazing people. You could be a 6 and with a hair cut from one of em youll become an instant 10. Girls would lose their mind over your new look, ex girlfriends will want to reconnect and the wifie will be extremely happy. This place is worth the higher pricetag.

Cuts were decent. On two separate occasions they lost my appointment and proceeded to suggest the error was on my end despite evidence to the contrary. No attempt at getting management involved or smoothing things over. Will not return.

Horrible place, went in just for a beard trim but they were so confused that I did not want a full haircut and just a beard trim so I left. I think maybe I should of just spoke Spanish instead
