They were friendly and did thorough oil change. My car runs like new and its never ran this great before. I have an 04 mercury grand marquis ls and it always needs servicing and now its running like a dream thanks to them. Awesome place!

DO NOT trust your vehicle to this place unless you want them to use it as a personal vehicle for their personal errands. Also, when you come and leave a review the owner Darin likes to claim he doesn’t know who you are or that he has no record of you when he knows exactly who you are. Just look at the other 1 star reviews below. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My husbands vehicle was there for 2 and a half weeks and the owner just kept asking for more time all while his people were using the vehicle for their personal use.

I took my 2015 Nissan Maxima here and dealt with Darrin. They were very honest and professional. When I took my car in they informed me they were very busy and told me that it would be a while before they could get to it. Because of all the good things Ive heard about this place I decided to go ahead and wait it out. I am glad I did...I initially took my car to a local Nissan Dealer and they told me it would cost $5500 to fix the transmission. Access Transmission got me out the door for almost half of that and the repairs didnt take near as long as they first told me. I would recommend these people to anyone that asks for a transmission shop referral..

Access Transmission was able to fix my transmission leak that I figured was not repairable. I was about to junk my 2011 Lexus RX350 , but they were able to fix it at a very reasonable cost. Good work. God Bless

I came here a while ago to have my transmission rebuilt on my Hyundai Accent. The first time I took it in it cost me $1900 to have it rebuilt. After getting the car back 3 WEEKS later, the car ran fine for 2 days and then continued to experience the same problem I took it in for. After taking it back and being without my car for ANOTHER 2 WEEKS, the car STILL was not fixed and they had me pay $60 to replace another sensor. Dissatisfied after spending lots of money and time trying to get this resolved (and it clearly was not), I basically had to argue with the owners son before the owner stepped in and personally went on a ride with me to experience the issue first hand. After countless times of them trying to tell me it wasnt the transmission that was the problem the owner finally experienced the issue with me in the car and ran the codes and could no longer deny that it was the transmission. They fixed the issue and FINALLY the problem was fixed. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Find literally any other shop. Darren and his team are awful

Can’t say enough good things about these guys. Went to another trans shop first for a quote and access was literally 1000 dollars cheaper on my 2012 dodge 2500 trans rebuild.

Recommended by Rubins automotive. Last time I take their advice.It took access three weeks when I took it in. Finally it was done, for $2150. But 3 months later it started making a loud whining sound in all gears. I took it back and told them what was happening. They said they would check it out. After a week, I called to check on it. They didnt seem to know why it was there. I reiterated the problem, they said their top guy would diagnose it.Another week, nothing. I call again, they seem to think I was complaining about a leak. Im quite sure they know that manual transmissions rarely leak. Once again, they didnt seem to know that it was there for a loud whining sound.After another week, I showed up in person. They hadnt touched it, and were quite clear that they had no intention of listening to my complaint, or doing anything about it.Their $2150 repair of a chevy manual transmission lasted just over 4 months, and almost a month of that was sitting in their shop.If you love getting ripped off and stranded when your expensive transmission job smokes and locks up during rush hour, by all means, go to access transmission.

Darin and his team are best the in San Antonio no doubt. I had to bring in my mustang for repair and in proper time it was finished before spring break. These guys are my to go and you cant beat the prices.

My 1995 Bronco was only shifting at maximum RPM. It was not a smooth shift as before. I dropped the transmission pan and changed the filter. The pan had very few metallic shavings in it. What I would consider normal. I had it towed over on a flatbed and dropped it off on a Sunday afternoon and placed my keys through a broken shop window pane. I noticed on the shop door that no operating hours were posted. I informed them of the problem and waited until Friday to call them back. The person that I talked to said that they didnt have an answer yet. I stopped by on Monday after work and I saw someone driving it around to the back of the shop. I talked to a man in his 30s and he said it would be about $1,600 dollars. If you dont feel right about something, dont continue forward. I didnt feel right about it. I had the same flatbed tow truck pick up my Bronco and take it to a shop near my work. I had read a few hours on Bronco and F150 sites and found a note that had the same problem that I did. He replaced his Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). A 30 dollar part. I asked the local shop to replace my TPS and he charged me 60 bucks. My transmission shifts like smooth butter now and has for the past 6 months. Stay away from this place. Far away.

I own an auto repair shop here in San Antonio, most of the repair shops here in town use Access for transmission rebuilding. If the pros trust them, you certainly can too! Wish I didn’t have to give one star! Had to leave one to warn everyone to stay away from this place!!! Darin the owner should’ve had a mask on when he robbed me. Took a truck to them 3 times and they could never get the transmission right. Every time they had it I was out a truck for 2 weeks. The last time I got it back, did not even make it out of the parking lot before I lost the transmission again. Had to take it to another transmission shop to find out that the work that ACCESS TRANSMISSION had done was all wrong!! They used wrong parts, even tried to rework my bell housing instead of putting a new one on! Needless to say! I payed double to get my truck running again. They lie, cheat and steal your money. Don’t use these people! Find a real transmission shop!

This place is horrible. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE! They kept my vehicle for over a month and I got it back in worse shape than when I dropped it off. No communication what so ever if I wanted an update I had to call. They kept promising me it would get done and they never fixed it. The manager was very very rude and disrespectful towards me. I got the car back with an exhaust leak, an oil leak and gas leak. Not even sure what all they did but I cannot drive the car now. Beware DARREN is very very rude after you drop off your vehicle.

Brought car to shop for esstamet told them losing transmission fluid only smoked when transmission fluid was full. Was told it was caused by engine oil leak. Took to Option transmission an found that the transmission modulator was bad causing the transmission fluid to be burned in exussed burning fluid.

I was referred to Access Transmission by my local auto mechanic. I had a noise in my truck every time I shifted that we all believed to be a transmission issue. I dropped my truck off to be evaluated and two days later I was called to pick it up. I was told that it was not a transmission issue and that there was no charge. I was very grateful to the people at Access Transmission for their honesty and integrity. I recommend them to everyone I know now because of the great experience I had with them.

These guys really got me out of a bad situation. I needed my transmission rebuilt and come to find out my transmission case had a huge crack in it, not only did they rebuild it in a timely manner but they were able to find a good used case for a lot cheaper than I could find. If you have any transmission problems go to these guys first before you see anyone else.

My father has had 3 transmissions done at Access, all great experiences. I called on a Wednesday to request a quote and they gave me one. The next Thursday I had my van towed to Access. They originally said the van would be ready in the following Tuesday. I had not heard anything from them so I stopped in on Tuesday, they had not started working on it yet. Now the day would be Friday for pick up. Again I had not heard anything, so I stopped by in Friday, not yet- Monday after 1PM. Today, Monday- no Van- should be Tuesday after 10AM. Darren told me on the phone there were complications, and if I didnt want them to fix it, just come pick it up now and do not pay anything. At this point I just need my vehicle repaired and/or returned.

I took a classic car to an intermediary shop for a transmission leak. After removing the transmission, they sent it to Access for repairs. Once I got the vehicle back, I discovered the leak was much worse than the original issue. I returned the car for warranty repairs. This time, the shop took the entire car to the transmission shop (Access). Another week later, I retrieved the car with work completed. Two days later, the vehicle was again leaking transmission fluid. After two attempts, and having sold the car in the midst, I was not comfortable taking it to this shop again; nor was the buyer. The real kicker...neither the transmission shop, nor the intermediary shop provided any remedy. I guess the solution was to deal with the leak and invest in transmission fluid or leave the car perpetually in the shop. Buyer beware.

Do not take your car to this place!! They had my car (1968 Mustang) for over a month and never worked on it at all. Every time I called I spoke with Darrin and he reassured me that it would be ready the next week but the time never came when they fixed it. The guy just lied even though they werent trying to fix it. I would never ever take my car to this place again! Garbage customer service...actually no service cause they were prob too incompetent to fix my car

Horrible customer service I waited 3 weeks to get my car in and every time I called they said that they were behind 3 months of work. The manager kept putting me off saying call back in a few days, that turned to a repeat responce. If you want good work with quality customer service I say this isnt the best place to go.

I had my 99 Honda Accord V6 taken into access transmission about three weeks ago, it had issues shifting into first to second gear (obviously a clutch and/or solenoid issue). They had called me and said they could not reproduce the hard/slipping shifts and that otherwise it was running fine. We advised them to go ahead and take apart the tranny and they refused because from the sounds of it it would be too labor intensive and unnecessary. My exact though was I thought I was paying yall to fix the problem. So they had it another week and a half and I called the shop to get an update. Well, now they can feel the hard/slipping shifts but it runs fine so they advised that we have the fluid changed and we paid $125 to have it done. We took the car out of the shop three days ago and it is now sitting out at my grandfathers barn and will not shift out of 2nd gear, now it revs at 5k Rpms and doesnt go over 50-60 mph. Overall opinion of this shop is that the owners are lazy and I dont think they paid attention when they were in school (if they even went) for auto mechanics. If you want quality work done and your transmission to actually be fixed I would high recommend looking at other shops. These guys do not know what they are doing.
