Incredible support for their product! Stephan took the time to help us on one of the vehicles he built that came into our repair shop in Montana. Very professional and build a very mechanic friendly product. Most of all the willingness to help make the vehicle Work for his customers. Thank you from The crew at Outlaw Kustomz!!!

I installed my own 1.8T conversion kit from Auto Haus but without Stephans professionalism and attention to detail in a final inspection I never would have passed the California Referee Smog Inspection. Greatly appreciated and nothing but praise for the whole shop. Thanks guys,Mark

Am over the moon with the high-quality work this shop did for the 1.8T conversion and restoration on our family Syncro my grandfather bought new in 86. Identifying as a woman, I practically expect to be treated unfairly, with disdain, or financially hosed at auto repair shops. Not at SAH; Scotty up front in customer service goes above and beyond to make sure I know what Im buying, (or looking to step in to!), the paperwork is always extremely detailed, and they are all willing to answer any particular questions I may have, either on the phone or in person when I pick up the vehicle. I value this greatly and will likely be driving all the way down from Montana to bring my van in for its periodic checkups.

If you are nearby and have a Vanagon, you owe it to yourself to have it serviced by Stephans. Always have a positive experience when getting repaired and just calling in for general questions. Have been to nearly all the Westfalia shops across the western US, Stephans is my top choice.

I found this place on Google search and it got my attention because of the 4.8 star rating. Liked the way Jason handled my situation for my car and parts. Was handled a well professional manner.Especially loved the tech Javier . Really appreciated his one -on-one way of customer interaction. And was updated on what was going on (really appreciated) Though I brought parts for vehicle, because when dealing with old cars things will brake. Yet the way they handled it was very Cool and hey things happened. Plus being a technician myself I understand.

I cant imagine a better place to take my car, unless maybe it were close enough to walk home. Great work, great people, great thoughtfulness about you and your car and what both of you need to take care of the issues at hand. I trust them to do the right thing and have not been disappointed.

I highly recommended Stephans to a very good friend of mine. Now I wish I hadnt. This the second time bringing her Lincoln LS in for the same issue (car over heating and check engine light on). They had her car for 10 days and it cost $1300, after already putting $300 into it the first time. When she got home she opened her truck and someone had pulled the truck liner all up and found two plastic engine guards that werent put back on. She called that night and left message. No one called her back in the morning. She had to call them. They denied messing with the liner and said the guards were taped on. All lies. I personally put the bolts on that guard. Im so disappointed in their work and professionalism. I wont be recommending them again.

Outstanding! Did my 1.8T conversion for my Vanagon. Excellent customer service always. My go to when my beast needs work. Lost a transmission hose today, got it towed in, and I was in & out in 2 hours to fix, wash and change the engine oil that was due... hard to find great shops like this anymore.

These guys always go above and beyond! It takes a lot of skill and creativity to keep older vehicles going, and the guys at Stephan’s have both! I trust them completely, and appreciate them always going the extra mile to help us maintain our beloved Eurovan.

Brought in my ‘02 VW Beetle with myriad coolant issues, as well as timing belt, water pump etc., and the customer service, communication throughout each of the processes, and work quality was accurate, thorough, and professional. Scotty the shop manager and Javier the tech are very easy to work with, were very real and down to earth with no BS, great dudes in my book, very quality work, no cut corners, fair prices... Thanks Stephan’s!

Our experience at Stephan’s Auto Haus was nothing short of superb! When our VW Vanagon had a bad coolant leak after a long drive down from Vancouver, Canada they made time to squeeze us in so we could get back on the road quickly and safely. Not only did they find and fix the original problem quickly, they also recommended a few quick fixes that were crucial to the safety of us and our van. Truly remarkable customer service, as everyone at the shop was friendly, knowledgeable, and seemed to genuinely care that everything was running smoothly. I don’t think there is a better mechanic one could recommend!

We are thrilled with the results of the work performed on our 90 Syncro Westy to ensure our vehicle met Californias stringent Smog Check Program! My first meeting with owner Stephan White was for a consultation on whether Stephans Auto Haus (SAH) could refactor my VW 1.8T build to conform to the SAH Executive Order D-712. Stephan was friendly, thoughtful, informative and encouraging.Next, the staff at SAH worked out a plan that kept cost to a minimum, preserving as much of the original build as practical without compromising the conformance to their EO and the satisfaction of the BAR-Referee.Once the project was underway, regular updates by service advisor Scotty, and the final product effected by Vanagon technician Tyler, were professional, communicated clearly, and respectful of the base build. They were attentive to detail, thorough in their execution, and friendly throughout the project. We can enthusiastically recommend Stephans Auto Haus!

I had Stephan Auto Haus change my motor in my 87 Vanagon camper too a motor I provided. They also changed all the coolant hoses, radiator, recharged my A/C, rewire my dual battery charging system and do some cabinet work. They did a fantastic job at a great price. I highly recommend Stephan Auto Haus to do all your Vanagon repairs.Thank you Stephan and crew.Cheers,

Not the cheapest, just the best.Been taking my vehicles to SAH since 2003--and that means 15 years now!For those who know, SAH is simply the best place to take your Audi/Volkswagen for straight-up service and repair by certified technicians in a timely manner. One of the best things about SAH is the transparency and communication they offer--they stick by their estimate, and if anything *might* change, they make sure to get clearance well in advance--and they stand behind their work and parts. Taking your car to the mechanic is rarely fun, but SAHs service and professionalism takes the sting out and sends me home with confidence.

If you have a vW Vanagon, Stephans is the place to take it. However, Im warning you ahead of time, your Vanagon may enjoy the treatment and love so much, it wont want to come back home :)Make sure to go a little early or plan on staying a little late, grab a beer at the local brewery, and walk up and down the block admiring all of the beautiful vans. Im already looking forward to taking my 1988 tintop Vanagon back in for more cosmetic work in addition to any fine tuning or necessary replacements. Truly an awesome experience.

I went in with a drivability problem in my 84 Westy, and they were smart, helpful and worked hard to get it figured out. Further, they were even pretty reasonably priced both in labor and parts. I trust their judgement and ethics, which is important in a car shop. Tehy put a lot of effort into knowledge base and customer service. Great place.

An excursion to Sacramento took us through WY. Utah and Nevada. The trip through Yosemite spelled the demise of Westy’s breaks. We were hoping to see El Capitan and take the lower Valley loop but given the break issue decided to limp into Sacramento. A search of VW Vanagon shops produced three that had excellent reviews. None of the shops were open on weekends so we cruised by each one in hopes a visual would cast a light on which one to choose. The number of Westys in Stephan’s Auto Haus lot was the selling point.Stephan’s crew got us right in with the great help provided by Jeremiah we were on our way in two days. Jeremiah cut us a deal on some parts and provided us with a loaner. Jeremiah was unable to get the proper calipers before we left but said if we were good with the way the breaks were functioning he was willing to get the correct parts and have them ready when we made our way back in a couple of days. We brought the ’91 back had the calipers installed and had some minor idle adjustments made and we were sent on our merry way.The service we received was top of the line done by very qualified techs. The bill was expensive but keep in mind, people that are good at what they do deserve to be paid for the quality of work performed. These guys know their business and are worth every bit they charge.
