I visited A1 to get a pre purchase inspection and the service was amazing! I am not from rocky mount and was unsure of where to go and who could fit me in last minute, but within 10 minutes of stopping in I was able to get my vehicle looked at. Bashar, the owner, allowed me to walk outside and pointed out a few things I should know about. He was very honest, friendly, and professional. I was even able to get some money knocked off my vehicle for some things he caught! I would definitely recommend this place for your car needs. They are very friendly and affordable!

My car wouldnt start in rm so i towed it here to get a diagnostic. And the owner could never tell me what was wrong with my car said give him a few days. He started trying parts on my car without my permission and ran up a bill. The shop Is surrounded with cars that the owner has conned and cheated the people of rocky mount nc out of.

The mechanics here are hardworking and they have good character, but Im concerned about their competency. I took my new Camaro in due to an air-fuel ratio imbalance and they charged me a few hundred bucks to do a variety of different things -- plugged minor vacuum leaks, changed MAF sensor, changed air temp sensor, and did an overall diagnostic to check for misfires and other related things. None of this fixed my issue, so they recommended taking the vehicle to a high performance shop to get a new Dyno tune done. Thankfully, I took the advice of taking it to a different shop, but I certainly didnt need to pay $700+ for a retune. Mayhem in Raleigh managed to link the code to something as simple as an O2 sensor that wasnt functioning. Replaced the sensor, code disappeared, and Im good to go. They also discovered a BAD oil pan (leaked out an entire quart of oil since I had A1 change it for me while I was there), bad spark plugs, and a bad ACDelco belt tensioner that was causing the belt to be so loose you could pull it off with your hands. No one at A1 discovered (or at least decided to tell me) any of this, and I paid for parts and labor that I didnt need. Not to mention, when I asked if they could change my supercharger oil, I was told that my supercharger took oil from the engine and didnt need any special oil... There is literally a cap on top of the supercharger that specifically says its for supercharger oil. Mayhem in Raleigh told me that it DOES have its own very fine oil, and that it would need to be changed. Overall, I think A1 is great for oil changes and rudimentary things, but this would not appear to be a good place for advanced diagnostics.

Bashar was very polite but to the point, which I appreciated. He put my car back up on the lift to show me all the work that needs to be done. He also told me what needed to be fixed right away, and what could wait. I havent had a chance to go back and have him actually work on the car, but as soon as I can, I am. His quotes were very affordable. Though I havent had the work done, I would definitely recommend his services.

I went to this shop to fix my Cars handle. Bashar who is owner of the shop is a very genuine guy. Instead of directly changing the handle he fixed it with his experience in a very affordable price. I recommend this shop for any Car work.

My wifes truck was having problems one Friday at 2pm on her way into Rocky Mount. I was worried no shop would be able to work on it with such short and late notice. The owner Bashar told me to bring it to the shop. Bashar made sure the truck was operatable for her to make it back home. They were very welcoming and kind. To top the cake, Bashar texted the next couple of days to see if everything was still OK. I would recommend them to anyone with car problems.

Friendly staff, clean waiting area, great service and spot on diagnosis of my cars problem (no codes or check engine lights were showing). Services were completed in a reasonable amount of time. Fair pricing (offered pricing choices that included off market parts and dealer parts to accommodate budget), work was guaranteed. We use A1 Brightside for everything from annual emission checks to major repairs for all our cars. Highly recommend.

Weve used them twice in the last month, once for my brakes which had totally gone out and once for a replacement of a control arm on my husbands car. Each time we received professional service at a good price and excellent turnaround time. We were so impressed by how when we showed up at their shop with no brakes (and no money), they actually gave us a ride home rather than have us risk driving home with faulty brakes. Both times we were quoted prices from other shops that were HUNDREDS more than what A1 charged! My husband and I were very pleased and will DEFINITELY be back!

I am very satisfied with the service I received at A1 Brightside Auto. My water pump blew in my car. A1 Auto towed my car to their shop, fixed it, and I was driving the next day. Very fast service, reasonable prices, and friendly staff that explains everything to you. I couldnt ask for better service! A 1 Brightside provided great service on my vehicle. The repair was completed without issues. They talked me through the reason why my car wouldn’t start and kept me in the loop with what needed to be repaired.

Ive been having brake issues for the longest and the owner in his employees fixed my problem with no issue and at a reasonable price! Got stuck on the highway at 3 in the morning, yes 3 AM and A1 Brightside got my car towed and replwc d my alternator. Got my car back the next day. Reliable and quick service. These guys are THE BEST!

I have a 1994 Firebird. My oil pan screwhole had been stripped and was going to cost over $700 to replace the while pan. A1 said they would retap the hole and put a whole new screw in. Work was done swift and has held up for a couple mo this now with not problems or leaks. Manager is super nice and easy to talk to. Would definitely Italy recommend.

Great service!I was in town visiting my mom Saturday when my car needed an unforseen repair. I looked up who was near and found A1 Brightside Auto. They listened and told me to come on over. They were waiting when I got there and took my car right in. Very friendly and professional. They had my problem fixed and I was back on the road in no time! Great shop. On a road trip from Philadelphia we ran into some car trouble on a Saturday afternoon about 2.5 hrs from our destination south. I had a 1 and 4 year old stranded in 90 weather. Googled closest shop that was opened and it was A1. Spoke with the owner Bashar who was very knowledgeable and professional and he quickly arranged a tow to his shop. I was concerned how long the work might take and Bashar said they’ll get it done today even if they have to stay a little late. The crew quickly got the car in the garage and got to work. A couple hours later- past their closing- they got everything wrapped up and car running great. A1s crew was polite and personable the whole time. I admit, I expected a little gouging on the bill at the end, but no, cost was reasonable! I consider myself lucky to have found A1 Brightside that day. Thanks again, gentleman !

Terrible experience. .paid just about $2100 and car is still not running properly. Those good reviews must have been from the owners family.. this place is a scam. If you pay to get your car fix it should be fix properly and not break down 2 weeks later.

I would highly advise anyone thinking about letting these people work on your vehicle to look elsewhere. They made a job that should have took a couple of hours last a whole week. The only reason I allowed my car to be worked on there was because I was told the job would be done fairly quickly and was quoted a decent price. When I went to pick up my car my price was significantly higher and they failed to perform an oil change I had requested.I watched the owner back into a piece of equipment trying to get my vehicle out of his congested and poorly organized shop and when I noticed the damage in the area he denied any responsibility and blamed the tow truck driver.There is no doubt in my mind that most of the positive reviews are fabricated. Every time I visited the shop the other coustmmers seemed to be just as aggravated by the poor service and management as I was.

Excellent! Memorial weekend, I was driving from Florida to Virginia when my Jeep Liberty went crazy. Dashboard was all lit up so I pulled over in the shoulder and turned the engine off and the Jeep just wouldnt start again. I called my insurance company for a tow and while I was waiting I discovered RepairPal. Using it I discovered A 1 Brightside Auto. I was very concerned about the possibilities of a major repair bill. Much to my surprise, Bashar, the owner, answered the phone the next day. I explained the problem and he promised to have it evaluated. To keep this short, he had me back in my Jeep the next weekend and for an incredibly affordable price. Not only did he take great care of me then, but he called me a week later to make sure everything was working. WOW! That is so old school REAL Americana customer service. I TRUST this guy and his shop. I wish he was local so I can use him all the time. Bashar is a gentleman, an excellent mechanic, an honorable businessman, and a customer first man.

I have never had such a positive and wonderful experience at a mechanic shop, I wish we lived closer so I would be able to have them as my go to. My husband and I were making a trip to Daytona from Pennsylvania for business and our car broke down. They were so prompt and compassionate and understanding. As things were being done we were spoken to with respect and explained what was going on every step of the way. If you like having to take people to court, then this is the place for you!!! If I could give negative stars I would. I usually dont post reviews, but people need to know that they shouldnt take their vehicle here. Especially if they depend on their vehicle. We took my husbands truck there Saturday to have new breaks put on and an oil change. Keep this in mind, WE DROVE IT THERE! Told us it would cost $700 to have done what we asked. On Monday they tell my husband that the back end was messed up (We couldnt even pick the truck up and take it somewhere else, not in the shape we dropped it off in!) They told us it was messed up when we brought it in! We think they messed it up when they took it off the lift. We ended up having to pay $1,600.00 to even be able to drive my husbands truck away from that shop! NOW IT PULLS TO THE RIGHT WHEN YOUR DRIVING IT, AND HAVE TO PUT BRAKE TO THE FLOOR TO STOP!!!! The only thing they did right was put the oil back in the truck!Be seeing them in court!

Zero star i would click on if i can. I giv this horrible place a ONE star only.I sure will leave a 2nd comment,other one is at tripp auto in rocky mount page,and i am glad i found them. A-1- Brightside Automotive, sucks. Just how i feel and i am sharing it for others to take heed to and be careful.- DO NOT GO THERE. Horrible. The guy charge me (bashar) almost (in total)$200.00. I will break it down for you. He charge me about 95-100.00 JUST TO LOOK AT IT on the diagnostic machine(or supposedly)just to look at it, 95.00 smh TRIPP AUTOMOTIVE only charge 40-50 bucks.Then A-1 shady business charge me about $80 for labor, and did not even know why the damn car did not start, smh he kept changing reasonsas to why it would not start.He also tried to circumvent his statement from 1st and 2nd discussion on the phone, about the car, by then,later,jackinup price. Who does that?He didnt even tell me with a straight answer or our familia members, what really was the matter with the car. SHADY he was. Do not trust A-1 Brightside Automotive,or record each word if youre able to so youre able to have if ever warranted proof of what was said. This guy again did nothing,did not know anything about the car,and later i took it to a place on same street, and the other auto place fix it,knew within less than 15 to 30 min., what the issue was.Fixed it up and i was on the road with the familia, within 3 hours from time the other spot knew what to do as a REAL mechanic professional shop would know. Be careful going to A1. Be very careful.adios.

The owner is a con artists who pays inexperienced techs less than minimum wage. He searches the internet for repair procedures and prints the images for his techs to use. Customers are overcharged and repairs for damages caused by the techs are sometimes included in the price. Use this shop at your own risk.
