Members of of family rent car trailers from this location from time to time and it is always a really easy, pleasant experience. Equipment is in good order, fees are reasonable, and if they somehow dont have what we want when/where we want it, they go out of their way to find us what we need and tell us which location. Most recent rental was a car trailer that requires just two wheels to go up the easy ramp and be secured. Cost was about $50 for a 24 hr rental in July 2021. The trailer worked great.They also have other rental items, boxes, packing tape, etc. Good location and easy in/out from parking lot, too.

Very nice. I was assisted by the owner when I was purchasing some boxes. If you dont use them all and return the unused ones with a receipt, they will refund you the balance for the returned ones. Only one way in and out of the place so be mindful of that

From my experience today, this place was definitely skimming average service. Overall it was slow, & the help received was pretty minimal. After some time the needed help was finally received. Waited about 30 minutes to get what was needed and had some trouble getting everything together. It was definitely satisfactory but not time efficient at all. If you need to get your things quick and you’re in a hurry, this isn’t the U-Haul center to come to.

Cheryl was fantastic! Gave advice to make our move easier when towing a car cross country. She helped us hook up, etc. Not sure if we could have done it without her help. Truck was nice and clean. No issues despite it not loving the hills we drove through, lol. Glad we drove to this location instead of just choosing a uhaul close to Seattle.

Signs all over that state, buy as many boxes as youd like, returning guaranteed!I attempted to bring back a 20 pack of medium boxes, to exchange for large and a TV box!.They have a policy of return only with a receipt, when they print Uhaul on the side. Scam for sure!! Home Depot has the same boxes. Dont spend your money here on boxes.... guaranteed!!Manager is the most important person in the place! Not the customer!

Renting a Uhual was super fast and easy. The store and truck were clean, everyone was abiding by COVID protocol. The only reason for 4 stars is because the clerk used her phone to scan my ID, which made me nervous. When I asked about it, she showed me that she was on the Uhual site and explained that her computer was down. Thats information itd be helpful to know before taking a photo of someones drivers license.

We made a reservation several months in advance for a 26 ft truck for 20 day rental. We arrived on the pick up day to be told that (a) Corporate Traffic said that they were not allowed to rent a 26 ft for anything more than a couple of days, (b) that they would give us a 15 ft instead (would not work for our cargo) (c) they did not even have a 26 ft on the lot that morning and (d) they would give us a $50 credit on our next rental to compensate us for their unwillingness/inability to fulfill our reservation (the U-Haul Guarantee).We walked out the door to see a 26 ft truck sitting there. My wife walked back in to tell the lady that there was a 26 ft truck available. As soon as my wife stepped inside, the woman (Cheryl) yelled at her (in front of 2 other customers), What are you doing back here?! I told you that I dont have a 26 ft! My wife then informed her that they actually had one in plain view. She then said, That is reserved for tomorrow! You cant have it!In the interests of finding a compromise, we offered to rent it for the day (even though our reservation should have taken precedence!). She refused to rent it to us. Her statement was I wont rent it to you -- even for a day! When we asked why, she said Because I know you wont return it!So now we had been lied to (there was a truck!) and accused of either lying or planned truck theft! Wonderful Customer Service! It only got worse from there!The lady then told us that we would have to call Corporate Traffic ourselves to work something out. She refused to have us call from the store, and told us that she had done her part. We went home, called Corporate Traffic and reached a helpful young man who told us that Yes, they had a 26 ft showing available, and we should go back to the same location to rent it for 20 days as planned.We turned around and drove back to the store -- only to find that she had already rented the truck out to a walk-in! When I complained further, she called someone (Corporate Traffic ??) and put me on the phone with somebody who told me the same story -- no truck, 15 ft available, $50 guarantee. I asked her name and said, because this WILL be elevated. At this point the lady on the phone said, Since you said that, I can no longer talk to you due to liability reasons! and hung up on me!We went home, called Corporate Traffic and related to our contact there what had just happened. HE took the initiative to try and fix our problems. He pulled in the Corporate Traffic Manager who had a solution within 5 minutes. He sent us to a competing location in South Seattle and gave us a time when our truck would be available. We lost 6 hours and the help of our set-up crew, but we had a nicer 26 ft truck for our original rental period of 20 days (But Cheryl had said Corporate Traffic refused to let her do that!).The moral of this story is that the problems do not seem to be at U-Haul in general (folks in South Seattle were excellent!), but Renton Highlands location is horrible. It was the worst customer service experience of my life! We walked out feeling thoroughly ABUSED! I was appalled to realize that the lady at the desk was the General Manager! With her total lack of concern for customers and complete lack of customer service skills, this location is doomed to failure. Go anywhere else you can!BTW, we were repeat customers of 6 years renting 26 ft trucks for this same event with no problems. We will never use this location again!!!!

That had to be the worst customer service experience Ive ever had! I had to correct her numerous times on the information she kept entering in the screen. She kept trying to sell me a tow dolly no matter how many times I told her I needed a flatbed trailer. And to top it all off, when I was about halfway done being helped she told me it was her time for her break. She logged out of her computer, and walked away. Left me stand there wondering what the hell was going on.

Staff was really curt, heard all about the fight they had that morning with an employee. Got a truck and a car hauling trailer from them, but a tire on the trailer was bulging and blew a couple hours down the road. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK TIRES, staff wont.

If you need to rent a truck its always best to make a reservation in advance. Even if its last minute, the guys here will hustle to get you something that will satisfy your equipment needs. Quick rental and return process gets you in and out fast.

If I could give zero stars I would! I set an appointment to get a hitch done and I was given a date for it to be installed few days after the day it was already supposed to be done they tell me it will be 2 more weeks!

Was nervous coming here due to the 1star reviews however i didnt want to sit in traffic to go elsewhere either, so I took the chance I was promptly greeted by a nice normal man, and got my propane refilled and was out of there in no time. Seemed competent enough to handle other tasks but all I needed was propane :p I think he mentioned a staff change too.

Overcharged on a rental. Was promised a refund. Refunded amount was 70% less than the amount of overcharge. Complained to U-Haul corporate. The routed the complaint back to the manager of the store that overcharged me in the first place. Jeeeez.My conclusions- store staff is incompetent or dishonest- U-haul corporate is cluelss.- U-haul is a dinosaur of a company and deserves to perish.

Zero zero zero stars.I reserved a truck over three months ago for my cross country move. When we arrived to pick up the truck, they didn’t have it. The staff blamed this on the previous customer for not bringing the truck back when they were supposed to.The truck was scheduled to be back seventeen hours before we were to pick it up, and nobody called us to give us a heads up. There was no contingency plan.The woman at the counter called around to other stores and kept rudely saying, “we have a VERY upset customer who wants a truck right now.” The truck we reserved three months ago. Of course I’m upset. We weren’t given any advance notice. We needed to move out of our house.She then sent us to a Uhaul near the Renton airport, telling us there was a truck available there. We checked the address with her several times. When we arrived at the other location, they said they never even talked to the Highlands location and they didn’t have a truck available.We ended up finding a Penske truck at the last moment. I recommend you learn from my mistake and order a Penske from the get-go.

This location recently scammed me on mileage and over charged me. Upon my return of the vehicle they had a line of returns going out into the road so they pulled all the trucks forward in a hurry and said they didnt have time to check us out and will email us the receipt. Well, turns out they didnt have my email so I never got a receipt until I saw they over charged my credit card. After calling and speaking to the manager they apparently doubled the mileage I drove and overcharged me, clearly hoping I wouldnt notice. Now 2 weeks later theres no way to prove the mileage I drove (Ive triple checked my route on google maps) and they werent willing to correct this wrong. These people are not to be trusted, always take a picture of your mileage and always be there when they check it in!! Ill never make that mistake again, nor the mistake of using this location. These people are crooks.

Had to take a load of stuff to Spokane. The associate helped me fix my bad plug for the lights. ( A loose ground). He also tightened my trailer hitch ball. The service was astounding and it was a successful trip. Thanks UHaul.

Just dont. This place is so unorganized and unprofessional. I arrived early for a 9:30 am hitch install appointment and NO ONE was there to do it. An employee came by to fix his time punches (not on the clock) told me hes been there 2 months and hes the only one that can do the wiring. The guy that they said would do my install at 11:30am does not know how to do that. There was no phone call to inform me of their scheduling error so this wasted 2 hours of my time. I took the part I needed to another UHaul and have them currently installing the hitch. While I was waiting for credit to my account I witnessed a couple being overcharged for mileage. My advice if you are so desperate to go here is to screen shot mileage on any rental and to also take pictures of anything you rent. These employees are untrustworthy.

DO NOT GET A HITCH HERE - Terrible experienceTAKE PHOTOS OF YOUR CAR BEFORE GOINGAlright so I ordered a hitch from their website and schedule for 8am on a week day. The next day they call me and say I need to reschedule because no one works at that time. Fine. The person on the phone said the less experienced installer will be available during the only time I can come in. Being annoyed at that I accepted the time.The next day I get a message from the manager saying no one can make it.I call back and they tried to change my appointment time. I got the hint that the person just didnt want to wake up at a normal person time to install the hitch. I said no I want it at the original time and they just agreed.Finally. The install day comes. The store looks pretty mangey. I hand my key over to the person installing the hitch. She did not have my sign any papers at all. Another weird sign. I was estimated 1 or 2 hours.I leave and wait 2 hours and havent heard anything. I call for a update 2 hours in and they said they JUST started on it and it will be another 2 hours.I finally get the call saying they are done about 4 hours after dropping it off. I show up and inspect my car ans what do you know. They completely scraped my back bumper. I go inside about to turn the place upside down. Now this is a 2016 car, practically new. I got it the week before. I know every scratch on it. It takes a special kind of person to drag a rear bumper around the garage floor to scrape it.The worker pretends like nothing happened. Long story short I tell the manager. She has to call her boss on speakerphone speaking VERY loudly asking what to do. The boss said to have ME pay for repairs and come back with the receipt and they will pay me back.Uh. No.They THEN have me sign the papers she was supposed to give me before hand and explained how the hitch install worked.Eventually I got a claim with Uhauls insurance RepWest. I was assigned a agent there and he gave me a call that I missed. I called back and left him a message providing the time im available (all morning on work days). They proceed to only call me OUTSIDE of those ours. Very bad experience. 2 weeks of phone tag later I call and demand the agents manager. This was my BOI. Actually the first person I spoke to that knew what they were doing. It shouldnt have to take a insurance manager to get the ball rolling on a claim but thats what it took.The insurance covered $900 in damages.I waited until my car got fixed before writing this review.TLDR, location cant install a hitch and provided a terrible customer experience. Avoid at all costs. Im surprised my hitch hasnt fallen off yet.

Be very very cautious of using this location marked our fuel at half a tank and it was almost half way to half a tank from quarter tank came out acted like it was where they marked it made a correction on my form but not in computer. then charged me 26 dollars fuel charge. 3 people before all same issue. i have pictures of gas on flat ground when picked up and returned after hours. truck was dirty very dirty and manager made comment about the customer before us renting a truck whats he gonna do eat off the floor. super professional. thank god i can just dispute anything charged with my bank card. let me know if they did this to u also im contaciting people helpers also.

Called and did everything online. Made sure they did not need me there and that my son could pick up truck. I was told yes but not by the person at the location. They were too busy to answer their phone. Did not have anybody to check in the people who had pre-registered and they blame the CUSTOMER because they have a horrible call center. UNDERSTAFFED!!! Customer service non existent. I will never go there again and waste two hours of my day to have them blame me for their lack of service. NEVER AGAIN!!! I wouldnt even give a 1 but i had to.

Terrible customer service. The so called manager was rude and condescending about a minor charge dispute which was my mistake but could have been handled in much better fashion. Not sure how someone with zero people skills and customer service can get promoted to a manger position.

Our company frequently needs to rent vans during our busy Christmas season, and we began renting from this store in 2014. While checking the rental out can be a bit slow, we are always treated courteously, and the vehicles are clean and in good running order. We will continue to rent from them as needed during the year.

The service was slow and wasted $65.18 to rent a truck for 45 minutes. Oh, but wait, double that because I was double charged and have a pending charge for $65.19 from the same U-Haul store. Have been working on trying to get it fixed for the past 2 hours, but the manager is at a chiropractic appointment and customer service apparently cant look up my account and refund me the money. Good thing I just got out of surgery to have to deal with this crap!

They have a most everything youll need for moving. The service is slow and lacking on the customer service side of the job. The staff work hard but seem to overwhelmed (under staffed) on the weekend, to do basic parts of the job like, check vehicles out completely/properly , i.e do the pre-inspection with the customer before releasing the vehicle, and asking if there are any questions about the equipmemt. The equipment that I used, and the other equipment I saw on the lot were in a state of disrepair.

I made an online appointment for a hitch install, get there and there was another car that came in at 1230, they took 4 hrs to install the other customers hitch, I told them I be Vaca after it was installed, I get there to pick it up and the hitch isnt even installed right. Never have anything installed here, very unprofessional

The manager at this location is terribly unprofessional. She complained to me about a previous customer who was late returning their rental truck. She was also extremely rude over the phone and seems to think everyone who walks in the door is a thief.I had to rent an auto transport and my vehicle began overheating on the journey, so I figured I would give the customer service center a call to see what could be done.They told me to drop it at the Kirkland location and that I would not be charged anything extra.Several days later they try charging me for over $200 citing some bullet point in the contract.They need to stand by what their representative told me and not charge anything extra. If I had known I would get charged extra I would’ve figured out a way to get the trailer back to Renton.
