My debit card was stolen and I am still waiting on one in the mail. My payment obviously didn’t go through. I let them know why and they charged me a $20 late fee over something I have no control over. Looking for somewhere else to do swim lessons. My son did flag football through here as well. The coach hardly showed up to any games because he had to work. The parents were relied on to take over his spot when gone. Practice was also a COMPLETE joke. I paid for him to just stand around one day a week outside and run down a field with no purpose every weekend. I would not recommend the sports at all.

I went in to sign two children up for the YMCA. The lady at the front counter rushed me through the process and instead set me up on a family membership. When I emailed them about the mistake, I was told there was no individual plan. Kelly Martinez is who I was emailing. I had to send him a screen shot of the individual plan that is posted online. He responded by telling me I can cancel the membership but theyre keeping my money. I was glad to cancel because I dont believe in giving my hard earned money to a business who doesnt practice good customer service.

I was pretty impressed with this ymca. Despite it being a smaller facility, and the gym equipment not being placed in the best places to make use of the limited space, it offers unique amenities i have never seen before. They offer a library and a golf tee area. They also have a rock wall. However, they require a certified staff member to keep watch of climbers. My wife and I are belay and auto belay certified through the ymca but still were not able to climb without a staff member there. The staff that helped us with this issue (sherry, stephanie, and dan) was very polite and apologetic and explained they were not comfortable with us climbing without the staff member there which is completely understandable. They did allow us to do bouldering though. The only reason this ymca did not receive a higher rating was on the rock wall, the line for bouldering was extremely high. When we mentioned it to dan and sherry, they seemed not know the steps in order to fix it and i am worried it will not be addressed. With it being so high, it could seriously hurt someone if they fell from that height.

If there was a way to leave negative stars, I would. I experienced horrible customer service and they refused a refund, even when I called to cancel. Apparently, random people call and give all your info to cancel your account, which means if your life is crazy, and you forget to turn in a piece of paper than they will continue to bill you no matter what. I paid for over six months that we were unable to attend and when I called too cancel they continued to bill me and said it was policy. They are a bunch of con artist. Dont join, just go to the PAC.

I would like to say the staff at ymca was helpful and kind, but I want to say a special thanks to Jamie Handcock and her intern. My twin 7 yr old boys and I came from salt lake city to Pueblo to visit some family everything that could go wrong could until I met Jamie. From being stuck in a snow storm to on my way up to getting to Pueblo and having my car break down and having to pretty much replacing my transmission. Jamie took the time to listen and exhaust every option to help. She went above and beyond by getting us a room for the few days I was stuck here because all my finances went to fixing my car had no money for shelter or food. I just want to say thanks Jamie they really need more people like you.

This place is a joke! I have a membership through my job but I cant add my kids on it and they are not allowed in because they are not doing guest passes I guess. The membership is 32 each kid. What a joke we only go here a fee times a month because my kids are 6 and 10. Its like because they are losing money with the covid they are trying to force people to get expensive memberships the dont need. I will definitely not be going back here and I hope this place closes down! Joke

So disappointed in the way billing was handled during the pandemic as well. Sports payments as well, no refunds, no one calls back. Shocker. Really frustrated with the management and how they’ve handled billing DURING the pandemic. I was charged 4 times and they will not offer me a refund. He said an email was sent out to “pause memberships”, I never got an email. The membership manager said it was due to them already using most funds, not my problem you guys are irresponsible with members money during a global pandemic. I’ve been in contact with them, was supposed to get a refund the first few weeks into August.. it is not the end of October and have yet to see any money be refunded.

Overpriced and horrible hours for the cost. Court availability severely restricted by youth sports, so when you consider the price you pay for actual potential gym time, its ridiculously expensive. Whether I was an employer patron really dont have too many good things to say except for when I started working out there had a pretty good start and middle part and some good management but once that changed just about everything went down with it and I felt like I was discouraged from having a life outside of work and just over all the atmosphere didnt feel welcoming and I also feared talking to my supervisors and over all just not a good experience the only positives was being a swim instructor in teaching kids and important life skill and interacting with some of the nice people Ive interacted with and the friends I made other than that though only the 1st 2 parts of my employment were good the ending has ruined it all

In my experience, Management was very unprofessional when I attended before the pandemic began. On top of it all, when they temporarily closed down they wouldnt cancel our payments. Kept charging us then claimed they sent an email stating we could have cancelled but they didnt send it. It took us 5 months to get all our money back. The emails they sent my husband stated they couldnt do refunds and they help volunteer in the community, like they are supposed to keep the money they took without providing services. Charging a family During a Pandemic is inhumane.

Very confused reading the reviews. This facility is much nicer than most I have been to. The staff is young. They have a kids pool (yes kids, so cant expect perfect water), child care, full gym with very nice machines and free weights, basketball court and even a rock climbing wall. At some point, you wonder if people expect too much for free... We pay about 10 bucks a month per person for our family. Works great for our needs. If you want a perfect facility, perfect staff, perfect everything, expect to pay more. As of 1/1/18, the membership is also national. There is no better deal that I can find. Id rather less than stellar staff over an increase in fees. If someone knows something better, please post!

I have been going to the “y” for many years now with my children, and very happy with it! I have special needs children and I know I can trust the girls in the child watch with them. My older son has been enjoying the swimming, rock climbing, game room, and the library. He has also enjoyed the other monthly activities offered like, “watch a movie in the pool” and the “egg hunt in the pool”. He has gotten to experience the Camp Jackson for the last two years thanks to the scholarship! I enjoy the gym (with many different options), the steam room, and being able to work on college homework. All the staff are friendly and personally know us. We signed up for the Y after attending the Corporate Cup and were impressed with all the amenities. They even have a huge pirate ship and 2 giant slides in the pool area.We use their weights/cardio room 3x a week, and I appreciate that they provide cleaning solution and clean towels to clean the machines before/after use. The employees there have always treated us courteously, but we dont interact with them much other than to sign in and ask a couple questions here and there. The womens locker room is always clean and stocked, and the bathroom stalls are decent sized. They also provide lockers for your personal items, but you have to provide the lock.Overall a good gym at a decent price (60 for a couples couples membership)

Their Facilities are excellent. Clean changing rooms and showers for when you use their pools. Great gym too. However, customer service was atrocious. We had trouble with our account because we were charged a few days before pay day (We set our automatic charge for our pay day) and were charged a late fee for our membership. We went in to see the manager, and she proceeded to treat us like we were lowly degenerate squatters who couldnt pay a tab. We could, we did, and we later had even more issues with the same manager. She was horribly rude and didnt care for our complaints. You could tell she wasnt interested in maintaining us as guests as she had a major attitude towards us, specifically my girlfriend, a lowly medical assistant that apparently looks like she cant pay. Needless to say, it was frustrating. We cancelled our account, the manager was happy, we moved on. I wouldnt recommend.

Pool is oddly shaped with more concrete medians than water. Theres more concrete in the pool than water. The water is all very shallow. No room to swim a lap. Average length got me about six strokes before I ran into concrete ( maybe 40 feet long). This is not an adult pool. However they have a nice gym and large workout area. Showers are ridiculous. Warm water for 30 seconds with no adjustments. You punch a button that dispenses water and bring your own soap. Pricey at $10. Not much to offer for a real swimmer but ok for geriatrics and disabled folks which were abundant. Not going back.

I signed my little one up for swim lessons and wanted him to have some time to adjust to the pool before the lessons actually started so we took him to open swim. We checked online to make sure that the Pirate ship was open. It was. Before we paid for our day passes, we asked the front desk and they too, confirmed it was open. As soon as we changed into our swim suits, a lifeguard approached us saying that it had been closed to chemical imbalances. The adult pool was extremely cold, and the therapy pool was only open for 30 minutes! What a waste of money. When we asked for a refund, they told us they didnt do cash returns and gave us an extra family pass. Three days later, my child came down with Hand, Foot, Mouth disease, which the pediatrician thinks he got from the pool. I have been fighting on the phone for weeks now to get them to refund the swim lessons hes never gone to. It took 4 phone calls, three different managers and Im STILL waiting for the refund. Well never go again. Weve never had problems like this at the Pueblo Athletic Club.

I really feel like the swimming pool has really gone downhill. My son used to take swim lessons there and he enrolled in several sessions and didnt learn anything new after the first lesson. He enrolled when he was in the mommy and me class. Then we started going there for the open swim times. There would about 3 families that would come together. We really enjoyed it because the therapy was just enough for our young kids to go in and really learn to swim. Then we went to the pool this year and they have changed to the therapy not being open for kids to go in. This is really frustrating to me. My son does ok with swimming but when there are tons of older kids in the pirate ship pool it is very hard for him to swim around. The bigger kids kind of trample him over. Then the daycare kids were there and for me as a parent it is very scary that there are only 2 life guards on duty. On top of low supervision, they arent very proactive. They kind of just stare around. I understand as a parent I am responsible for watching my younger kids in the pool but it would be nice to have an option where younger than 5 kids are only allowed to be in with adult supervision. It is very disheartening that here in Pueblo we dont have many places for families to go and now the YMCA isnt an option either. I had thought about getting a membership but now I am not going to because there are no options for swimming with my son. Just so upsetting to me.

This is specific to swim lessons. As a parent you want to sign your child up for swim lessons to learn until they dont have anything to learn anymore. They switched the sign up process for swim lessons where you cannot sign them up for a specific group (stages 1,2,3 etc) Instead at first day you are reviewed by instructors and then put in groups depending upon your skill level. My son passed level 5 in session 2 and then we switch pools for session 3 and for all of this last session he was put in a group of kids who were way below his level. So instead of providing more instructors to help him and another child who was also more advanced, she just had him swim laps for 2 weeks over and over for a full 45 minutes. He should have graduated this session and be done but there are still some deep water skills I feel he hasnt mastered but WE WILL NOT PAY TO COME BACK. I would rather buy a 50.00 annual swim pass and bring him to do laps by myself than pay 56.00 dollars for a 8 day session where he didnt learn a darn thing! Will not ever use again or recommend to anyone. Also, the director of this swim program, Monica Parnell was in the end not helpful at all with the way this system is they have set up.

I have been trying to avoid doing this but after today I had to. So I was planning on working out after work at 3, I arrive at 315 and I am told they close at 4 due to summer hours? Ive never heard of that, nor is there any indication on the website or Google. The gym isnt kept up, someone should clean more often. The equipment is mediocre and also isnt kept up with. Staff is friendly but not always knowledgeable. I was actually told a guest pass and a day pass were the same, theyre not. One pass is free and the other you have to pay. Step it up!

Not the worst, but certainly not good.Pool is terribly overcrowded and very shallow. Not enough room, or depth, for swimming laps.24 hours would also be nice since my job requires shift work. The gym equipment is decent, however, it is not very clean.Despite most members lightly wiping down the equipment after each use, I often see sweat puddles below me on the cardio equipment and see pubic (and other forms) of body hair on the floor when using the mats. Ive also seen spots of blood and that is scary. The gym becomes dysfunctionally overcrowded at certain times and the overall layout of the building seems that there is a lot of unused space.I pay $62 / month (which is high) and am displeased with my overall experience, for that price. The benefit to me here is that it is within walking distance from my home as to where other local gyms are typically inaccessible due to time restraints.

Im surprised at how many negative reviews the Y has received. I just moved here from West Virginia, the Y facilities there was basically a tin building with the equipment, workout area and child care jammed packed in a very small space. I was amazed out how spacious the Y is in Pueblo. Its clean, the equipment is modern (you can even watch your children in Child Watch through the monitors), they offer much more than the average gym such as a library, cafe, and multiple swim pools and dressing rooms to fit the needs of their customers.I also enjoy the book club and journal club. I believe the YMCA serves its mission and purpose. If you are looking for fault you will definitely find it, but everyone has a bad day, some employees my be misinformed but I wouldnt rate it low based on what one employee may have done to offend you.The people Ive met are friendly, my child is well taken care of in Child Watch and I believe it is well worth the money you spend on a membership.

The basketball floor was recently refinished and is top notch. The pool is cleaned everyday (Ive been here for 4 weeks and observe it everyday at the same time) but still has white residue from the chemicals on the floor which they can not get off- I am on it everyday in barefoot and have never got any fungus, etc. . . but its still a good idea to where sandals in the bathrooms-which between cleanings gets dirty(nothing out of the ordinary, just from the dirty, careless public). Fitness center has all necessary equipment but becomes busy after work (starts around 5.30pm and slacks off around 7.30pm), on the weekends (before everyone goes out), and especially early in the week. Overall, this is one of the nicer Ys that I have attended, it does get busy (use common sense to avoid times when everyone can be there), generally the staff is friendly and helpful, they are somewhat strict about money and memberships but its not a charity. Oh yeah, the chemicals in the pool are rather strong- if possible I recommend showering after use. I give it 4 stars for plethora of things to do and the nice staff, but Ive been to nicer YMCAs and reserve the 5 star ratings for those facilities. Enjoy.
