I agree with Casey K. I interviewed for a job in the accounting department of Volunteers of America a few weeks ago with Sarah the accounting manager and John their staff accountant. They were condescending to me the entire time. When I asked why the position was open at this time I was told a long, elaborate story and in the end they basically said that they weren’t hiring the temp that was currently in the position because she missed the application deadline. This sounded like a lie to me and I think there was a lot more to it than what they admitted to. They also made it sound like I would be called for a second interview, which I wasn’t and I still haven’t heard from them and it’s been at least two weeks since my interview. I have no interest in working for them so I’m glad I haven’t heard from them.

I had high hopes for VofA until I interviewed for a job. I had an interview, which I thought went great, and I was also told by one of the interviewers that she was almost positive that I would get a 2nd interview. But when I didnt hear from anyone I started to wonder so I tried reaching out to Human Resources and even left a message, but didnt hear back until 2 weeks later after making a big deal about how they went about things. If you didnt agree with how an interview went and or wanted to go with someone else for the job all you had to do was send an email thanking them for the interview, but you decided to go with someone else that was more qualified. Instead, you send me an email stating that the program for the position you applied for has been cancelled?? That didnt make any sense to me because after the email I noticed that the position was continually being posted on other job sites. Thats just plain unprofessional! Another thing you might want to work on is that when someone calls you or emails you the professional rule is to respond within 24 hours, not over 2 weeks later when youre being called out for what you guys have done.
