Just had a great exchange with C.M. who was representing the United States Mission. I almost turned this guy away, but I decided to give him a listen. He showed me all the city and state permits to go door-to-door collecting donations and I was shocked. I cant tell you the last time I gave someone money that came to my door. Everything is such a racket nowadays. THIS IS TOTALLY LEGIT. He even provided me with a donation receipt. If you encounter people from this organization, PLEASE DONT TURN THEM AWAY BEFORE YOU HEAR WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY. Better yet, donate if you can.

I used to be there and would not be off the streets if not for their help and training. There are two people to a room, excellent food and we had daily routine that included door to door solicitation to raise funds. We developed a habit of handling responsibility and working everyday. Being there enabled me to get my ID, social security card and clothing to be presentable for job interviews

I think US MIssions needs to find a better way to get money besides solicitation at the door. I live in inner NE and you cannot believe the number of people knocking on my door asking for donations. Legitimate or not, fund your house a different way!

I answered the doorbell to 2 guys soliciting. I rejected them without listening to the spiel. I also mentioned that i do United Way, and does any of that trickle down. The one guy said, No... it doesnt. And turned away, a pained look on his face. His shorter cohort started to say something, and the taller one told him to forget it and off they moved. That look on his face, though, and his politeness, made me go look it up. It was legit, and a guy on the phone (Andy) said they were legit for US Mission. So I went online and donated a hundred bucks. Not a lot, I know, but I really felt bad for them. They must get a TON of rejections. Ive done cold-call in sales, and it is not easy. I commend them for their manners at my door.

T ( thats his name) came by my house and I was outside. I was more then a little trepidatious, but after talking to him I think he was an honest hard working guy. Slavery or not, nobody ever looks after you better then yourself. Its a legit organization. I am sorry homeless people make you feel uncomfortable, but I am glad to help the homeless, especially when they make the effort , like T was making. I am glad Im not homeless and Thankful I have the means to help others who are not as fortunate. Our current government isnt going to help.

Had one of these guys come to my door even tho theres a pandemic going on ur still sending these guys to go door to door .nothing matters but the money I guess

This crooked place should be shut down i work near here ive herd the horror stories n its a scam find homeless make them go door to door u keep 75 percent most the time n give the homeless guy 25 percent. Stuff as many homless as u can in one room n get free food from food service places
