Over 30 years ago, SVDP, helped house, feed, and clothe me. I was humbled.I excelled in life and now I am extra grateful because I have a place to refer my 30 year old daughter to in her time of need!Im so grateful to God for the trials that now allow me to exercise them as wisdom!
They truly are a wonderful organization. They care so much about helping people. They give so much. And have many different avenues for community outreach. Very friendly and professional staff. Was so grateful and thankful they were there when i couldnt work. They helped me with my pge bill and delivered food boxes to my home. Im truly grateful to them for evrrything.
Amazing people and kind hearted staff members, that are easy to talk to and very helpful. I feel truly blessed and very grateful to St. Vincent DePaul members for helping with my past due electric bill. During times like this with the whole Covid19 stuff happening. Its hard to find any help from the resources that are provided online and thats due to everyone else is needing help as well in a mass amount. So for me to be able to get through on the phone to them and for then to get back to me as well as had my electric bill paid off in less then half is truly amazing. This is why I feel blessed from their help 👍🙏
Needed it one time to make rent. Paid half with other half coming from me. Worked well with landlord. Many thanks and blessings.
This is such a wonderful place. The staff are so friendly and it looks like the Census is reaching out to help with jobs. The process to get help requires an appointment. Some are same day, others the next. The staff works diligently to help you with your problem. This was recommended through 211. What a wonderful charity that tries to help everyone.
Helped me when I needed my rent paid. All the stuff is pretty friendly except for the chunky guy who always wears the black hat hes pretty rude. Thats why I give it 4 stars because theyve helped me but not five because of that guy
I volunteer for this organization and this is my 8th year. These people are all fantastic and have amazing hearts. I am lucky to be around this staff!
A good place to go shopping
BRANT goes over and above has gone out of his way to help us when we so desperately needed guidance. BOB and his daughter were so comforting and made us feel supported in the down times. THANK YOU EVERYONE.
St Vincent de Paul is one of the better community service organizations in the greater Portland area I would recommend it to anyone in need of assistance with food rent for any other utilities that are unable to be paid.
They gave me $250 towards my power bill when I could not make it. And the process was extremely painless. They are VERY helpful and non-judgemental.
I had what I thought was a good experience just to find out I was given the run around. told to call numbers and told id be helped but every number i called said they dont help they just redirect calls and after speaking to 8 people i got to the point where I was told to talk to St. Vincent. so thanks for absolutely nothing.
Amazing! Thanks to the Portland Team for all the care and support you have given me this year. The professional, yet personal care I have received is outstanding. From the moment I check in to the moment I leave no other clinic has helped me more.Thank You so much!Brandee D
Great place.
Great pepole help those that are in need...someone should buy them lunch good souls hatd at work...Thank you awesome humanitarians...there luv sent!
They are very helpful and if they cant help u they will send u some were who can help they are very nice they really do try and they really do care. They also try to do there best at trying to make sure everyone that asks for help have good holidays.
We needed assistance and found the people who work there very kind warm and compassionateThey helped more than we had even asked for.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Helps people in desperate situations with so many things (where services in the Portland metro area is so greatly limited as it is).
Very very nice helpful people who dont make you feel bad. They helped me in my time of need when no one else would. Thank you.
Such a blessing as they have helped with food, rent, clothes and pge bill
Definitely a place for helping those in need. They are friendly, helpful and help anyone who needs it. Only problem is that it takes a very long time to be helped; even if youre only getting food.
Ive had to use their services twice over a 4 year period and they have always been super helpful and non judgemental.
Always friendly staff and helpful even if they dont have funds they try to get u help other places
Good
Helpful people who actually seem to care about helping others.
Super nice people!❤️
Their Christmas food box consisted of 4 boxes of spaghetti, 1 jar pasta sauce, 4 cans chili, 4 cans beef ravioli, cans of corn and green beans, pears, a loaf of bread, 2 boxes generic hamburger helper, 2 boxes potatoes, 1 bag of oranges. Nothing even romotely Christmas. The people who delivered were rude, not even a Merry Christmas. It was the worst ever.
The kindest most helpful people. Definitely a great charity
They help so many people every day without treating us like a number. Kind and compassionate staff and a decent selection. understanding about diet needs and even had some food for the pup. Only downside is this street is so crowded with people camping as well as drugs. Kept the last star though because its right by a community house and fred meyer. they dont do anything besides food boxes ive been told.
Eficiente when they come to resources and helping people. Make family feel comfortable and each situation is cordiality.
Could make the process a bit more user friendly
Its a nlessed place because helps all people But the personal workers is not friendly sometimes maybe are stressed 😳
These people are great! Kind and they helped me and my roommate with our power bill!
A great neighborhood resource, with kind, friendly staff. Thanks to their services Ive been able to bring home some food when I couldnt afford to buy groceries.Aside from food boxes, SVDP offers rent and utility assistance, as well as additional services for the community.
The people that work here are wonderful, I am very grateful for this organization . They have helped me with my rent , and utility bills when i couldnt afford to pay them . Also with food ! Love St Vincent Depaul
Nice staff and volunteers, ready to try to help with your needs, has a food pantry, call them for info as 211 does not have up to date info on St. Vincent De Paul.
I went it for assistance for my water bill and was treated awful. The manager of emergency services.(Craig ?) humiliated me in the lobby, discussed my personal information in the lobby including my first and last name , my street name. The other people in the lobby were so embarrassed for me. I am a professional person seeking help I can only imagine how they treat homeless people or others that have disabilities. The manager needs more training or needs to find a new job. This place is awful! Use only as a last resort its a waste of time . They act like its their money and their food . Sad . I complained to the Executuve Director for the entire organization but Im sure he didnt believe me its 100% true I left there feeling awful about myself. P.s. The guy at front counter is awesome but if thats his boss it must make his job miserable.By the way Im a hotel manager and have 40 employees I would never send one of my staff members there. Were just going through a hard time in my family and thought I might get support. Never again!!!
Ive been to St. Vincent a handful of times for food. Theyve been kind and always helped. Im surprised how any civilized person can go there seeking something for nothing and have the nerve to complain about it. Please learn to be grateful.
Nice people did a great job at their food pantry. Very generous and understanding about coming in on the bus.
Great people help out with a lot of things food PGE and rent theyre awesome
Gave GOOD food without question. What this person is saying about no food without a money order is nonsense. Sik7
Everyone here is so nice and kind. No judgement from the folks that run the place
This is an excellent group of very caring people who assist those in need with food and other necessities. If they dont have something, theyll give the clients information about other agencies that can help.
Sincerely try to help in emergency situations.
Very friendly staff great place for families experiencing hard times
Wonderful place. Very caring people.
Each and every time I have been stuck in a bad situation with rent, electric or food I have gone to St Vincent De Paul for help. Each and EVERY TIME they have found a way to help me with anything I needed. Absolutely love their staff!
Waiting is longer than what people all expect, very happy to help in any way they can
Very helpful when your in need of food , rent or even utilitys paid.
Awesome!
Nicex thanksgiving box i appreciate that....for i would of been homeless on the strrrets
Great job!
I want to thank these wonderful workers that are on the mission fields battling hunger. Without help from them I was looking at 7 days of fear, having no food stamps until the 7th.I am a bit agoraphobic, yet I do have reasoning and common sense and trekked on down to a church for a food box. They are no longer in that ministry, so the new friend I met was so intuned withthe Lord, she yielded to His voice upon hearing Him remind her.of this great ministry, and only a few hours later 2 wonderful sisters arrived with 4 boxes of supplies!!!!! What a gift!!!! Also, the sister did call beforehand to ask what I needed.Thank you, Jesus for Your people who listen to Your Voice.Cheryl Cady
Receptions was nice and very informative.

Long wait. Friendly and helpful people.
Smell like pee in the waiting room and to many Russian. Didnt get the help I needed.
Great people who are willing to help anybody.
Heart warming people. Thank you.
Rude, heartless and uncaring. Wont even give you a food box if you dont show them you have a a money order. Not a bank account or even too poor for food. Do not go to them.
St. Vincent de Paul is no longer located at 3601 Southeast 27th Avenue. They moved to 5120 Southeast Milwaukie Ave. Portland OR, 97202 several years ago.
They need help to help other in need had to wate for someone at the center they were book up for yesterday

Extremely kind & professional!

Great help if you need it
I needed help and they were right on with aid and referrals.....
Greatest charity out there
Amazing place, very quick and helpful
The agency moved to another location without informing the public. The new building is too out of the way, with the services not worth the travel time.
I was calling to see if I was eligible, and the lady I was speaking with was very rude.
Filthy place, but they WILL help with a bill once a year
No open bathrooms anymore
True example of community services and support 🙏🏾
Thank God for this place. They have helped me when I needed help.
