Stephouse was good, but now WiLine (or WhyNotLie), is a ONE STAR company all the way. Ive been without internet service for 3 weeks. Have spoken to 14 people, made 36 calls, and no help, even after escalating. No one there cares at all. Been told I need to spend money to replace and provide my own router, then they will do me the honor of authorizing it for their internet connection. For this I pay over $50 a month. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH THEM.

DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE! If I had any other choice, I would go with them. If your internet goes out you could be without for days or weeks. When the main antenna went down it was 2 to 3 days before they were able to get the internet connection back up. Recently, I have had issues with getting Stephouse/Wiline to send a tech out to my house to fix our internet issues for over a week and still counting. I put in a ticket saying our internet has been intermittent. They responded within a few hours saying it was fixed when it was not. I called back and told them the issue was not fixed. I was told that a tech would be coming out to fix the issue. I asked for an ETA and they would not give me one. Two days later I called again asking when a tech was coming out. I was given the same excuse that the tech was in the area and would be there and that he would call. The most recent I was told the tech would be there in 2 hours and 2 hours later he has not shown up.

This internet company is by far the worst internet out there next to centurylink. There is a reason people pay way too much for comcast. They are reliable and if something goes wrong they actually fix the problem. Not make promises to fix it and never send someone to address the problem. I would actually give this company no stars but i had to give it 1 in order to leave a review. Their internet speeds are not accurate, if you pay for internet expect the internet to run a third of the speed you pay for. Thumbs down, do not use this company!

I’ve been trying to get Stephouse to set up internet service for my home for months. I’ve contacted them no fewer than 7 times without getting an installation appointment.1. Emailed them through their site. No response.2. Emailed them again a month later and I got a phone call back from someone who told me he can only do business service (I inquired about service for my business as well) and he would have someone call me about home service— no one ever called.3. Weeks later I called them and was connected to some kind of answering service call center who could only take a message and could not give me any information or schedule an installation which makes me suspect they outsource their inbound calls and possibly all of their sales. No one ever called back.4. I emailed them a month or so later and they finally responded with a form message of “congratulations! Your address is eligible!” After which they requested that I email a DIFFERENT email address to arrange for installation. I was assured a response within 48 hours.5. I emailed the second address to get service and after more than a week, there was still no response.6. I emailed again and stressed that I had contacted them multiple times over the course of several months without any significant response. I stressed that this would be the last attempt at scheduling an installation with them so I expected some kind of useful message back. I then get a response saying basically “No nah uh! You only emailed once. Here is a copy of the email.” That is neither an accurate statement nor is it anything close to approaching professional customer service.7. I responded back yet again pointing out that they wasted a contact opportunity (with someone who obviously wants to give them money) just to tell me I’m wrong, without even offering a solution to getting me internet service. If my neighbors didn’t have this company as their provider I would wonder if they are even a legitimate business.

Cancelled my service in the first week of July 2019 due to regular outages. I was told that I just needed to return the modem. After I did that I thought I was done but they kept billing me. I talked to another stephouse representative and they were nice and apologized and said that they would take care of it. Somehow I am still being sent bills for the service that I havent used in 4 months. They are completely disorganized.Edit: I have repeatedly called and left voicemails to their billing department as well as sent emails. No response. I have however received another bill. I submitted a complaint with the better business bureau.

Unfortunately they did not provide service in my area, but they unequivocally provided the best customer service Ive ever had with an Internet company. Although the gentleman knew he could not get my business, he ran us through all of other options and even explained how the current and projected technology works. I cant say much for their internet speed or pricing, but the customer service should be the new industry standard.

We are limited on providers in our rural area. Moved from TDS to Stephouse and had such great service for quite a while. Ever since the company shifted ownership, service has tanked. We pay for 20Mbps service. Sometimes that’s what we get. More often, we get around 1.5 Mbps download speed, especially nights and weekends. We call and call and call, open tickets and nothing is ever done. Sadly, we will be cancelling as soon as we can figure out another provider... maybe LTE internet with our cell company. I will not recommend Stephouse any more.

After our Comca$t bill climbed to over $200/mo, it was time to make a change. Stephouse Networks gigabit service recent arrived in my area and, so far, its great! 900+ Mbps on wired speed tests and 700+ Mbps on their wireless router. The installer, Wayne, was a pleasure. He even noticed our metal gate would close hard and applied padding to it. Truly above and beyond!

I would put zero stars if i could. I cancelled my service (well, trying- I can’t get in touch with anyone or get a call back) and went back to Comcast today. Regular outages and unstable internet, but I put up with with it for over 2 years as I didn’t want to go back to Comcast. However, my internet has been down for almost 3 days. One call with someone over 24 hours ago, who said they’d need to call me back. Never did, and I’ve called back and left messages several times with no return.I’m up and running with Comcast as of 15 minutes ago, and it actually cost less than Stephouse. Do not go with them despite how much you dislike Comcast. They don’t have a portal for managing payments, so I am worried they’ll continue to autobill me.

I have their 100/20 service. Solid 60-75 download all the time. 20 up is more like 10 up, but thats no issues most of the time. Happy that my second ISP didnt have to be crapcast. Being month to month, there is no commitment. I would recommend trying Stephouse Networks out. They also have top notch tech support. Dont know what the others are complaining about. Be sure to consider the source and circumstances of any issues before complaining. Lots of ID-10-T errors out there.

While the service never quite lived up to its promises the service used to be tolerable (averaging 10 meg on a 25 meg connection) until the company changed hands around the first of the year. The company has oversold the service for the site that services my location and now my 5 meg Century link connection which I kept as a backup and for my phone puts theirs to shame on a daily basis. The speed is all over the map from one moment to the next you will check it once and it will be 25 meg, you will check it 30 seconds later and it will be 2 meg the packet loss (lost data) is running as much as 3% (Centurtylink is .1%) and it will not maintain a remote desktop connection for any length of time and often I get booted out while working 5 or more times in 10 minutes, thank god I kept my other Centurylink connection going!!After weeks of making lame excuses and not resolving the issue it slipped that they have been aware the issue is on their end for some time and are dragging their feet to correct it because it is going to cost them money, well too bad you should not have sold what you could not provide.I cannot get anyone there to give me a straight answer as to when or if the problem will be resolved. As I require two services so that I can keep my voip phones on its own separate connection for reliable voice quality I will likely reactivate my 2nd Centurylink connection and tell Stephouse to take a hike.3 weeks later and the only service I am getting is lip service ... taking another star away!

Im not really sure how to rate this so Ill start with 5 stars for the service of internet. From there I take a star for both spotty service and constant cut out of service.Im not sure why it cuts out all the time but it does current speed test has me at less the 1mb its .52 and 0 know the upload. I take another star because when I have to call on the weekend I can get NO help at all, they have an answering service but they she can never get anything done and always no matter how nice I am she seems to be having a bad day. Then I just have to hold off until Monday to get anything done. Unfortunately I have to take 1 more star for the spotty service that when I do get a hold of someone its an issue somewhere else and there working on it and my stuff will work later. No time line.I love having internet from someone other then comcast but the lack of support or service on the weekends is a little draining. Considering my internet mostly goes on on the weekends.I do infact recommend this place for internet as comcast is no better more expensive and worse coustomer service. Dont even get me started on quest now known as something else Frontier I think but its still quest. When I talk with the non weekend people and the young man in the service department there so very nice. Friendly coustomer service over all and they are very helpful when they can be. I just wish they could do the same on weekends. The constant lag in speed and they do not offer a gig in my neighborhood. So unfortunately I am having to find a different internet company.

Uneven service. Like company, but they are not customer considerate. After we upgraded service to higher speed for $65 pm, never felt they actually met their speed promise. When we clicked it on speed test, was often running 1.2 Mgps vs the 15 contracted for. Then the upgrated service and changed point to point equipment without prior or even current notice. The disc on our roof didnt sync up with the new equipment.Decided to change to Frontier for $39 per mothe and speed test is 23 Mgms...whooping difference in speed for $25 LESS per month.Sad. Was a loyal customer, until they disregarded their trust to secure reliable service, or when the knew they would have upgrade speed and connection problems for an extended time, have the respect for the customer who relies on connectivity...to notify them of that fact. From this point on, cannot recommend them. In fact, recommend avoiding them.

This is how internet service providers should treat their customer base. Admittedly, the only reason I contacted Stephouse was because of our (somewhat) remote location in Ridgefield and the unavailability of high(er) speed internet. That said, I’d recommend Stephouse to anyone in the Portland area – not just rural folks. The experience I had with the technician at my home, the follow up afterwards, and phone interactions while scheduling was unlike (far exceeded!) any service you’ll ever receive at CenturyLink or Comcast. I’ve always talked to a human – and that’s huge. No contracts and clear monthly fees. Can’t recommend their service highly enough.

Unfortunately, this is one of the FEW ISPs that reach the foothills of Woodland, WA, but it is horrible regardless. Everything in the other review by Johnfr is correct. There is always service drops, the times that they are open are absurd and when you do contact them, they are absolutely useless and act dumbfounded that they have a problem. They will always say that the problem is on your end and then after about a month of calling them, they figure out that something was wrong on their end the whole time. The service always gets worse once they are closed and it is horrid on the weekends, when they are closed.

When you are looking for internet service in the Portland these are the guys to call. Their business rates are better and no long term contracts that cost an arm and a leg in termination fees like Comcast does in order to get out of it. Not that you would want to since the service itself is above par. Also they dont bait you with a great deal like Centurylink... and then jack up the price to twice as much as their written quote as soon as the the ink is dry on your contract.

The site survey and installation went well. The techs did a great job installing the microwave dish -- a very thorough, professional, and congenial job!I look forward to activating our service with Stephouse sometime during the month of April. :)Update: we went live with our Stephouse service on 5/1 and it has been great! Excellent speed and bandwidth, meeting all our broadband needs. Besides, its super cool to look up at the dish, with its blue LEDs, and know that this wireless direct technology powers our internet. :)Also, I needed a port forwarding rule added to the Ubiquiti PowerBeam 5AC 500 settings, so a quick call and discussion with a tech had the request handled immediately. Superb customer service. What a relief to be done with Comcast!!!

Edit: Issue as outlined below has since been fixed and review adjusted accordingly: although the time for fix is still annoyingly lengthly (1.5+ month since report, 3.5+ months since issues started) it /is/ better than what Comcast would have been-------They are the buildings ISP for the apartment I am living in...usually have been pretty good with decent support for the past two years but have been increasingly frustrated with them recently.Since Thanksgiving internet would randomly drop, supposedly because one of their routers keeps restarting randomly, the issue has gotten worse though to the point where the internet is completely unusable during certain points in the day with a restart every few minutes. My roommate got in contact with them early January and they confirmed they were aware of the issue, but it still hasnt been fixed after 3+ months (although granted they were only made aware of the issue by my roommate a month ago, you would think their monitoring tools would catch that though...) and now we are stuck paying for two internet services (we have to pay for Stephouse anyways as it is building wide + Comcast because Stephouse wont work for anything that requires a constant internet connection for more than 5 minutes), which is kindof dumb because were essentially giving free money away to pay for a service that just doesnt work anymore, at least until the HoA decides to switch ISPs as I cant imagine many other people are happy with 20-50% downtime either

I switched from Comcast to Stephouse about 6 months ago and could not be happier. My internet is ripping fast both up and down and the only issue Ive ever had was my fault. One call to customer service and they walked me through the solution and had me up and running again in just a few minutes. The same fix with Comcast would have had me pulling my hair out on hold for an hour. If you are looking for a fast and affordable alternative to Comcast and Centurylink call Stephouse.
