Essentially the premises of this program is good. I’ve been clean for over a year thanks to program. However there’s things that need to change. Staff gossips way more than participants. They make you feel like you need to turn on each other to hold each other accountable. Nothing is “confidential” because staff runs back and tells another participant what was said about them in order to bring “light” to the situation. This place for a Christian place isn’t so christian.

This place is an amazing program. I graduated from here October 2020. I was able to have my dhs case close while here as well as gain great life skills. I cant begin to Express how amazing this place is. The staff are miracle workers. Wonderful daycare program. We also have awesome structure in our daily schedule. Not mention the rooms we stay in are great.

I contacted Shepherds Door back in September of 2019 about seeking help for a struggling family member. Called the intake number 3 times, left 3 voicemails for Alicia over a period of days. No response. I even went over to Shepherds Door to speak with someone and was given the same intake number I had already been trying to reach. If youve ever had a loved one in dire need of help with addiction, you know how crucial every moment is once theyve decided to take the path to recovery. My family was made to feel helpless by the complete lack of communication from Alicia and her team. Please remember this organization will gladly accept your donations, but is hesitant when it comes to accepting women in need. Alicia finally returned my calls - the morning I dropped my family member off at a facility that truly cared about her recovery.I sincerely beg you not to make the mistake I made of reaching out to Shepherds Door for help. Please, please contact another facility for your loved one, and I wish them the best in recovery.

First Id like to say Ive never experienced this program and my rating is a general medium because I had to leave a rating to leave a comment and I respect the assistance they do offer, but also disagree with a few things they do not! That being said, I am just curious why it is all these programs only offer women and children a place to grow together but single fathers also needing help for themselves and their children are not welcome together any where?? I am just saying its upsetting that it is ok for religious groups to run sexist programs to help women, already more likely to take custody in most custody cases despite all circumstance, extra assistance with CSD letting them off with anything if theyre trying. But all single fathers must go it alone and make it work, and if they cant make it alone they are dead beat dads not worth the donations and time to help regain themselves with their children any way.
