My insurance company recommended them to help repair after a fire. They came the first day on time, set up a dehumidifier, and never came back. I called six times and left multiple messages over a week and a half. Dont waste your time.

We had a washer leak in our laundry room and Ethan from Belfor was the man for the job. Ethan was professional, well mannered, efficient and very knowledgeable. He took immediate action to mitigate the moisture and seal off the area. Fans were strategically placed and he cut out the damaged insulation. Talking with him afterwards really helped me feel better and rest assured that the problem was solved. Outstanding work and customer service from Ethan - thank you very much!

I have to give these guys some credit. My expectation was something simple, and I realize that the expectations of the inexperienced may sometimes not be quite in sync with what actually happens. The ceiling drywall was a little sloppy, although I wasnt sure if I was being picky or not. But, what I learned was if youre not happy with the work done, these guys will fix it.The place looks just as good if not better than before my water damage.

Let me first start out by saying the only reason that Im giving this two stars is because my project manager was nice, professional, and always on time. Every company that bid and took the jobs for my restoration project either did a poor job, was disrespectful, or both. I really like the idea of coming to one company and they take care of all the project planning for me but this was ridiculous the amount of hoops I had to jump through, the time off work I had to take, and all for it to barely get done the day before we moved into the home. Family swears by this service but the contractors that had any hand in my restoration project were terrible.

Belfor came in to clean and disinfect our hallways and common areas after a few COVID-19 cases, which they completed. The problem was that our bill ended up being over DOUBLE what the high end of our quote was! Some fluctuation in a quote is reasonable, but not the price gouging we were given.

On July 9, 2020 we had the combination of a clogged toilet along with a flapper stuck open, resulting in water damage. After contacting our insurance company, USAA, they referred Belfor for water mitigation and repairing our house. The water mitigation team was awesome. They came out quickly and started the drying process. Later they came and finished ripping up the damaged product. The only negative thing I can say about them was that they left the pipe uncovered after removing the toilet, so it’s caused some unpleasant smells....Next, came the adjuster’s inspection. He was also awesome. He did miss a few things on the initial estimate, but fixed it after I brought it up. He also explained that they could always submit supplemental budgets for anything that went over. During this process he stated that we could take over whatever parts we wanted, but it wasn’t ideal for them. Understandable, less work for them also means less money. He also explained the headache it could cause the accounting team, but still mentioned it was our right.Once the estimate was approved by USAA, we were contacted by a project manager who came out to take a look. Initially, he was awesome too. It took a few weeks to get the ball rolling, but we were finally put in contact with someone for drywall and flooring. Never heard from the drywaller again after he came out to look. When the flooring guy, who the PM said was awesome and cut good deals, came out he didn’t provide us much for options. We settled on something from the options he gave, but weren’t impressed. We messaged him after with a type of flooring we had found elsewhere and he said he could get it if that’s what we wanted. Eight days later, we hadn’t heard back on the flooring estimate, so we reached out to the PM at Belfor. He told me he would contact the flooring guy and see what was going on. Later that evening we received an estimate stating that the total cost for flooring was about $9,000 and insurance was covering about $6,200 (we were planning on replacing other flooring at the same time) and didn’t even include the flooring we wanted. The issue was that the original estimate showed a flooring cost of around $11,500. While I understand these are estimates and some things get overestimated and others get underestimated, the fact remains that they were originally stating my flooring would cost $11,500 to repair and yet they were only releasing $6,200 to the flooring company. I was quite upset and called the adjuster since my PM was on vacation. He explained you can’t take it line by line, blah blah blah, but said he would find out what was going on.In the meantime we messaged the PM and told him we weren’t going to go with their flooring guy and I wanted to make sure that was clear before things got ordered. He responded with “I’m going with him”. Obviously this made us quite upset, so we contacted USAA who put a stop payment on the check. We told Belfor we were going to handle the flooring and USAA requested a new estimate minus the flooring, then they would release that amount directly to us. Belfor called and said that it was our right to do that, but wasn’t worth their time unless they do the majority of the work. They explained that if we decided we wanted to take the flooring, they would walk from the job.On Sep 16, they told us that they were cutting a check to refund our $2,000 deductible. On Sep 29, I called them because we hadn’t received it, but the guy was out of the office. John called me back the morning of the 30th and said the check should have been issued and sent last week, but it was missed. He further explained that they only cut the checks every 2 weeks, so it would get sent out next week. I called him back in the afternoon and asked if there was some remedy to get the check sooner. After multiple conversations, he said he talked to the GM and there was nothing they could do. I would not recommend them to anyone and will be contacting USAA to request they remove them from their preferred contractors list.

BEWARE! If I could give this company a zero, I would! Our homeowners insurance hired Belford to replace our flooring and tile in our bathroom after a leak. The job took months and after they were done, my wife noticed grout falling off the bottom of the tiles. The came back and inspected and said it was normal? We also noticed the transition of the flooring was off. They also told my wife this was normal because it is transitioning to pressboard. My wife was not happy, so we recently hired a contractor to replace the pressboard and we found the horrible work Belford did! See image. Our insurance is reopening the claim and I am sure Belford will be contacted!

A water heater hose rupturing on Memorial Day evening prompted my use of Belfor via USAA. Adam M is the project manager assigned to my repair and honestly, with the exception I mention below, everyone from Belfor has made me feel confident in their service. The mitigation team project manager, Devon (sp? misplaced her card) was very compassionate and all over ensuring her team was set. Berta led the team that had the task of clearing out my dirty/messing, wet garage - she was incredibly thorough, kind and informative, as were the two men in red shirts. Around 6pm when they were finishing up, it was noted the pod container did not include padlocks. The two men in the red shirts (uniform), actually went to Home Depot and returned with a padlock for the pod that is currently residing in the street after putting in a long day of hard work.I was a bit concerned overhearing one of the mitigation men, that I am guessing is newer or in training as he wasnt wearing a uniform like the others, ask a question of a more senior person something that alluded or led me to believe the item in question he thought was cool and was checking about logging it as damaged (old school, portable, wifi HP printer).

We had a shower leak in our bathroom that we called into our home insurance. They set us up with Belfor to come do a estimate. The guy who came out Jason was very nice. Took lots of pictures and measurements for insurance. This was on a Friday. He told us Monday he would send the estimate to us and insurance. By Tuesday hadnt heard anything so text him. No response. By Wednesday I called and emailed, still no response. On Thursday evening finally our insurance got the estimate and had to forward to us. We never got any response from the company in anyway. The estimate was missing information and had things on there we were told they wouldnt do. Our insurance asked for a new estimate taking off the plumbing part and adding things that were missed. It has been 3 weeks now and still no response to the customer or Insurance. We are now looking for a better more reliable contractor company. For being such a large company they have zero customer service and reliability. Would not recommend

John Latshaw was amazing to work with! His years of experience really showed. He cared for our family after we had a leak from our dishwasher. It was unexpected and really turned our world upside down. John’s compassion, guidance, and professionalism eased our way. Belfor is REALLY lucky to have him on their team!

Water damaged situation. They are extremely rude to me and others in the apartment building where this happened. Knocking on doors at midnight to bring in loud fans. And besides their attitude of not caring about peoples homes being invaded with demolitions going on - and loud men outside your door... they dont communicate, they dont ask permission. I was out for 2 days for drying my closet. I came home to my whole home demolitioned. My furniture and art piled into the middle of the room. Art destroyed. And the supervisor threatening me to cooperate or else I would liable for the water damage. These people are truly awful!

Im posting on behalf of my friends/ family. They had a fire back in September 21st 2018. There was a lot of damage. This company was right there well there house was still on fire burning down. Hounding my elder dad. Who is devastated as he watch his entire life burn. They said they would have the house completely done by April 24th 2019. I have seen what little they have done. There is no way it will be done by April 24th. Originally they said they would take down the house down to the frame spray they frake to get rid of whatever fire smell might be on it. What I have seen so far is far from taking the house down to the frame. They did rebuild the gargeg in witch that is were the fire began. But as for the rest of the house. They have put in new windows they did take out the cabinet s in the kitchen and tore down the sheet rock and replaced it only in the kitchen and the livingroom. But havent even touched the 2 bedroom or the bathroom. They also said they would be replacing the siding on the entire house. But they havent even touched the outside. So anyways here we are April 20th 2019. My family have been living in a hotel for 6 months now living very uncomfortably and ready to go home. But I have been there several times throughout the week and nobody would be there I was there one time and about 12:30 in the afternoon it looked to me like they were packing up for the day and finishing up which none of the workers even said a word to me or the homeowner. Did even acknowledge we were there. Very rude and unprofessional. Looks to me like youre not going to be done by April 24th. Its been a very sad situation for my elderly father who is 78 years old has had such a traumatic experience with this whole situation and dealing with them I just been hell to say the least.

Belfor is a horrible company. The people are nice, but the sub contractors have no clue on how to construct. We had 35 or so errors that they had to come back and fix and fix and fix. 2 months after we moved back in they were still coming back to fix stuff. On under cover boss they mentioned that the project manager gets bonuses for saving the company money (so the quality is crap and the contractors they use are under par and willing to things cheap). I would suggest finding a local fire and water damage restoration company with good ratings on google or Angies List.

Warning.. use with caution!! Read below if you need restoration for your home. I should take others reviews before hiring them. Before you regret like I did, you may consider following points1. They work for Insurrance and only take instruction from them and not the home owner. In my case where I had Cat3 water flood the floor. Belfor in my initial assessments said to remove all porous material like sub flooring but later declined as it did not detect moisture and claim to wash my subfloor with plant base anti-micro agent - big words for enzyme spry you get from pet store. They bend for insurance at risk of home owner.2. Belfor does no have valid IICRC (highest industry) certificate as of 2/9/2019. In fact they claim to have highest certified. As a home owner who had a just a water Belfor repeat claim that they have special chemical and highly trained... check out there certified and not fool by their big claims as they can not back it up.3. Shoddy workmanship. 1. Improperly place dehumidifier hose as waist water was re-enter in my subfloor in the bath. 2. Damage to my window screens when they had to install exhaust fans and punch hole to the wall of my wall way when they remove the door back stop. Collect wrong sample to some of my floor hence insurance has less claims. Missed numerous item removed in report to insurance which also reduce my insurance claim.Base on lack of quality, credential and integrity - putting their interest with insurance company over safety and interest of the home owner, you need to do your diligent before hiring them. They do all the talk and you will stuck with a huge battle with them and insurance to do what is right.

Our company was based out of Eugene. We had extensive water damage to our home. I will never recommend this company to anyone for anything. The process took over 4 months. We were told originally 5 weeks. Everything that they repaired we had to have it redone. We hired a designer to help and were could not use any of her suggestions. They could not find our tile, the color choices were lost, (not once but twice). They did not measure anything correctly and even the custom cabinets needed to be cut down. The General Contractor did not show up, the staff did not show up until we got angry. The excuse was they were slammed. Nothing we did with this group went well or easily. I could go on and on. Please do not use this firm, even if your insurance company recommends it.

**UPDATED 2018My final update-- Im sorry to say its not a happy ending. Even though I had a report from an independent flooring company stating the floors were not installed properly (no excess moisture found), and Belfor had previously agreed to refinish the cupping floors, Belfor is now saying they wont touch it now that the tenants moved out. There was some additional moisture that worsened the floors in two of the bedrooms which partially isnt there fault, but I still expected them to refinish the floors in the rest of the house. The floors had cupping after 6 months, but I assumed it was normal, so I didnt end up reporting it until it got worse over the next 2 years, when I did report it, and the saga began. I have spoken with two other flooring professionals and they said the long slat hardwood floors should NEVER be installed directly on a concrete slab. I wasnt advised of this, which I would expect a restoration company would have known and passed on to me to choose a different flooring. In addition, the new person (some regional manager) I was dealing with at Belfor was RUDE and his tone aggressive. My recommendation would be to AVOID Beflor. At the least Belfor should have paid a portion to have my floors re-done.x-posed to Yelp.**ORIGINAL POSTI had hired Belfor (out of Eugene) to restore my house from water damage in 2010. Their original work was pretty good; I only had to had them correct a few things. However, about 6 months in, the new wood floors started to cup and warm pretty well. It got bad enough, about 6 months later I notified them of this and asked them to remedy. Someone came over and at least took a look, but their stance was that the concrete was not properly dried out yet before the new stuff was installed, and the gist was that it was not their problem.Later I found that it was up to them to take moisture readings before laying the floor, but it past the window to file a complaint with the contractors board.Needless to say, I am very disappointed that they did not stand behind their work. This will probably cost me at least $10,000 to replace the whole house.Very disappointed. I would not recommend them.-Cary Garvin
