Called him to see if I could get a custom dual exhaust from front to back, says he can’t do it because the car came with only one catalytic converter. Told him if he couldn’t just add 2 catalytic converters on the new exhaust and said no. This old man not serious about his business and work he’s a joke.

Called Friday morning after someone attempted to take off with my Catalytic converter the gentleman was very nice and did a free inspection told me what was missing and changed it for a decent price he worked fast and communication was great didn’t try to sell me stuff I didn’t need.

Fast install, great service, good price. Only thing is that these guys dont wear masks 😷.

I didnt actually have anything done but Phil spent 10 minutes (free inspection) looking at my brakes just to make sure everything was okay (they had been squealing). Probably the best and certainly the quickest fastest car maintenance stop of my life. They also gave a recommendation for a good general mechanic (Georges on Columbia). Thanks Phil!

Dont believe the good reviews. When the old guy saw that my car was beat up (and he wasnt going to get a lot of money off of me), he refused to even talk to me. I dont want any part of it was all he would say. Incredibly rude service.

I called early on a Monday to setup service for Wednesday on my 2010 Saab 9-3. One model of my car comes with a dual exit exhaust, while my cars model comes with single exit. I bought the mufflers for the dual exit and setup the appointment to convert my single exit to the dual exit upper model version of my car.I specifically asked the person on the phone if they would be willing to install it, and clarified that it would require a good bit of modification, maybe even a custom pipe and just using the mufflers I brought. My car has a 2.5in midpipe that connects to the rear muffler, but the dual exit has a 2.25in midpipe. He said that was fine and that they can do custom work.On Wednesday, about an hour after dropping my car off, I got a call saying the exhaust wont fit my car and to come pick it up. I asked why they didnt do the custom work we talked about to make it fit. He said It wont fit, come and get your car. I asked why it did not fit, and he snapped at me and said something along the lines of How many times do I need to repeat myself? We are not touching it. Rather than answer my questions, he snapped and refused to do the custom work his partner said could be done. I wasted my time and was treated very poorly.I recommend picking a different place for your custom work. Even Meineke would explain why they cant/wont do the work without snapping at a customer.

I would recommend going here there fast and prices are affordable !

This place is great, first time here, came for what I thought was an exhaust leak they told me it wasn’t and I got a pipe put on my 03 Forester, didn’t try to sell me anything more, I appreciate an honest business and would highly recommend.

Jiffy Lube on 32nd & Sandy let me know I was in need of new brakes. I took it to Barker and they gave me a candid friendly inspection...They sent me on my way. I had 50% brake pads left... Stick to oil Jiffy Lube! C’mon man! Good looking out Barker!

Went here to get a second opinion after a Les Schwab location tried to use scare tactics on me, telling me that my front brakes needed to be replaced immediately. These guys confirmed that the front brakes did not need to be replaced and gave me a real estimate of the remaining brake life. Several months later, they replaced the front brakes quickly and for a fair price.

I took my car in because the muffler of my vehicle had completely cracked off of the rest of the exhaust system in my rusty old Midwestern Corolla. The repair was done immediately in less than half an hour, even though I came in at the end of the work day. The work seems good and was done for a very reasonable price. I will return for any muffler, brake, or exhaust work.

Great prices and honest mechanics. While I was waiting on a muffler repair, I witnessed them contact a customer who came in requesting a new catalytic converter be installed because his dealership recommended it. They told him his catalytic converter was perfectly fine, that whoever recommended that repair was trying to perform repairs that werent needed, and most shocking of all they said there would be no charge even though they did an inspection on it.It is hard to find honest mechanics. These guys are honest and wont rip you off.

Absolutely great experience. My little 1995 Honda Civic didnt pass DEQ because I had a leak in the exhaust system. I found Barkers recommended on Google and all the reviews were good so I decided to give it a try. And Im so glad I did. They were able to do the repair and I was in and out in about 30 minutes. And Im already scheduled to return for another service I need on a CV axle. I will definitely recommend them to my friends.

If you want to go some where with HONEST mechanics this is the place. My muffler had rusted off, and I had gotten four quotes from other shops. All of which were in the 300 to 400 dollar range. I gave them a call and over the phone they told me $180 but when I got there they took a look at it and said, Nah, we can do this for 120. Ive never experienced a shop lowering its quote. They fixed me up with a shiny new muffler and had me out within the hour. If theres anything they cant help with, they can point ya in the right direction. Not to mention they are walking distance from Alberta. So you can grab a beer and some grub while you wait. Im only taking my cars there now.

Honest and super fair. I went in to have my brakes checked expecting a ton of work based on another shops comments only to find that I was only low on fluid and nothing else needed replacing. Hard to find shops that dont try to sell you on parts/labor you dont need. While I was in there I also asked that they look at my exhaust pipe which had come loose and was hanging low – they hung it up properly and welded it on the spot for a super fair price. I took my car in because of the tailpipe having been knocked loose. I took my car in to Barker Brake & Muffle, and in less than 1 hour, the had rehung the tailpipe, weld a crack in the exhaust and got me on my way again for a charge of only $30. Ive added them to my address book for any future brake & muffle work I may need!

Cant say enough about how awesome my experience here was.long story short...My girlfriend had been quoted $1,500 to replace her catalytic converter and muffler so her 2003 subaru would pass emissions. Took it here and they welded on a new pipe for $120 and it passed emissions two days later! Quick, helpful and very affordable, highly recommended

Atrocious customer service

Jerry and team are very knowledgeable and straight forward. I found them through Google, and was pleased with the service they performed. They have saved my ears from rubbing calipers were Les Schwab and many other shops told me they could not figure out the problem/to just keep driving it. Well... when you care about your car and it sounds like a bird is following you everywhere you want to find out whats going on. Thanks guys for the excellent service!

Went in to diagnose my brake light warning. Took him 15 minutes to inspect it and provide me an estimate for two new front rotors. I made an appiintment fir the next day. Only took 40 minutes! Very honest and easy to do business with.

When our brakes started grinding, the first place I called was the Mieneke a block away. Without even seeing our car, they quoted us $1400 to resplace the brakes. Next I called Barkers. The man who answered the phone quoted me $320 and asked us to come in later that afternoon for a free inspection. A few minutes after arriving, theyd realized we needed to replace one rotor and told us they could have it done first thing the next morning. We got a call around nine AM letting us know the car was ready. $400 later, no more squeaky, grinding brakes, and well recommend Barkers to everyone we can.

I dont normally write reviews, let alone one for a muffler place. However, this is a great place, with good work, and quick service. I went in with a rusty, old, broken exhaust that was barely hanging on. They tested and salvaged my catalytic convertor, and used the newer muffler Id bolted on awhile back when my old one rusted out. They then welded everything back together. Much nicer than the shops that just bolt exhausts together. Plus they guaranteed all the welds, and just told me to stop on in if I had any issues. Saved me some $$!

I had a full day planned a mo time for the clunk and deep growl that my car was exhibiting. Phil was upfront that I didnt need a new muffler and exhaust pipe. Apparently, a flange joint broke. 25 minutes and $60 later, I was happily on my way.

Management provided a false quote over the phone. You can only get so far with selective dishonesty. Note: typically I change out my own brake pads and turn (machine) my rotors, but live in a complex where working on your own vehicle happend to be prohibited. Not sure why the manager played Dr. Jekel-Mr. Hyde from over the phone to in person, but it only vilifies your business reputation when you alter information based on customer perception. Judging by the other reviews and the professionalism of the other Brake shop down the street youre going to need all the positive reviews you can get...better to quit while youre ahead.

Classic Bait and switch I called and asked how much to put a Cat back muffler on and was quoted $100.00 a hours worth of labor.So he said come on in... So i hop in the car and get there in 20mins and they acted like i never talked to the guy and the quote went up.and he did nt even lift the car to look.Well ok then Peace out

Had a broken muffler pipe on my EuroVan, these guys hooked me up fast and honest. When checking my mufflers, other places would of tried to replace them from some surface rust, these guys custom made a new pipe and welded it in and fixed a few other things underneath all for $99 and 45 minutes! WOW! I will be back, thanks Barker Muffler! :-)
