I’m from Tennessee and made the trip just to work with him. I had a scheduled vacation trip planed. For my bucket list to do, was to buy a vehicle from the west coast and drive home. Robert made a point to find my dream car. We talked every week. He was very attentive of my wants. He found the right car for me. It was a 2019 red CR-V. The staff was wonderful, masked and friendly. Gary checked me in quickly and the service took less time than expected. The waiting area was clean, welcoming and enough room for us to socially distance. I was able to use the WiFi and got some work done while I waited. They even texted me when my car was ready.

I have been a loyal customer to Ron Tonkin Honda for many years. I have a 2010 Honda Insight and have always trusted Ron Tonkin Honda for any and all service needs. Frankly, I was concerned to take it anywhere else since at the time I got my car, Hybrids were not as common. I always thought that by coming to Ron Tonkin Honda I would get the best service and they would know how to properly handle my car. However, over the last couple of years it has become apparent that the customer service aspect has severely declined. Although they have always been nice and professional when I am physically at the location, the experiences over the phone and with ongoing issues have been quite disappointing. I am left feeling that if I wasn’t making a request that generated a monetary gain for them, they didn’t have the time to help.Here are a couple of my worst experiences:When Honda had the airbag recall I was asked to provide a copy of the service record when the airbags were replaced in order to file a claim on the class action suit. Since I was not the original owner of the vehicle there was an issue with the information coming over electronically so I had to get a hard copy and mail in. I called multiple times asking if they would email me or mail me a copy. After months of waiting I finally went in and they printed one for me.Over the last year I have started having an issue with my car starting and the only modification that I have ever done was installing a remote start system, so I thought that might be the issue. I left my vehicle with Ron Tonkin Honda for a few days so they could diagnose the issue. When I picked up I was told there wasn’t a drain but that the battery was old and just needed a new one. I happily paid to get a new battery and didn’t have an issue for a couple months. Then the same issue started all over again, so I brought it back and was told I had a faulty battery and it was still under warranty so they replaced free of charge. Again I happily left and didn’t have an issue for a couple of months. Then one morning, same thing, car wouldn’t start so at that point I think it is something more and decided I needed to take to another shop to look at since nothing was getting resolved with Ron Tonkin Honda prior. The new shop tells me there is a drain from the stock alarm system, coupled with yet another issue of a faulty battery. When I called Ron Tonkin Honda to ask about the warranty on my battery a person in service took my information and said they would look into the record and call me right back. Five hours pass and I end up calling back and asked someone else in service about the warranty. They then asked what the issue was, as though they couldn’t see all the prior record notes on this ongoing issue. Then he asked us why they would replace another battery if it had already been replaced under warranty. I was appalled. No explanation as to the timeframe of the warranty, no questions as to how they could help, just utter disgust by the fact that we would ask about something that has been an ongoing issue. Again, it really felt like since there was not an opportunity to make money, they didn’t want to help.I will not be returning to Ron Tonkin Honda for any service in the future. I am very disappointed by how they treat long time customers.

I was needing a new dependable vehicle at the height of covid closures. A car was brought to my house for test driving! My old car was taken by Robert Baker (salesman) to the dealership for evaluation and trade in. All forms were filled out at my house. Within 4 hours my 2017 Honda CRV was mine! We started on a long road trip when—oh, no— the check engine light came on. Fortunately we were not far out of town, so could return to the RT dealership. Although we didnt have an appointment, they were able to check out the car and give us an estimate the same day. Junior assisted us so we knew exactly what was wrong and when the car could be fixed. They found more potential problems and final bill was even less than the original estimate. Paying the bill was even less painful because of the friendly office staff. It was worth every penny to delay the trip and have a road worthy vehicle. Thanks to the warning light and to good service!

They fit me for a service appointment and completed the work while I waited which only took two hours.Nice selection of fresh food in an innovative vending machine.Everyone, but the two receptionists were wearing masks, which I appreciate.I wish the dealership was more friendly to the disabled as there was no way to signal Service I was there, no automatic doors, and tight spaces to navigate between Service Desks and Waiting Area, so difficult for walkers and wheelchairs.

I recently went into Ron Tonkin Honda to ask for an appraisal to sell my car. I’ve been a customer at this location for well over 5 years to get my Honda serviced etc. I’ve never received anything short of excellent service when giving them my (money) business. This changed completely when coming to sell my car. The customer service was still above and beyond but i’m not sure if the extremely low offer came from their bad judgment or (to be completely honest) my appearance/ lack of car knowledge. I did my research for my car and had other offers pending but was more then willing to give this company my business. They never asked what I wanted for it or what the Kelly Blue Book value was. They offered me $2000 less then what the place they literally BUY cars from did. They were shocked that I knew the value of my car and had better offers. This was just my experience but it was incredibly demeaning and I felt like they really were trying to make more money off of me. They have officially lost a customer. I will not be re-buying from them and will no longer be servicing my future car with them. Do your research, be prepared to shop around for offers, and do not sell your used car to them is the lesson here.

DONT WAIST YOUR TIME WITH THIS DEALERSHIP! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! Already spoke to Customer Relations Manager Carol, so dont bother! 2 trips within a 24 hour time frame to dealership to look at a specific car and made arrangements with the salesman and our professional mechanic to test car and car could not pass a diagnostic test. Not to be confused with their 182 point test. Made a 3rd apt next day as we were told they were suppose to fix and was told in a text from salesman that the car was sold! They didnt have the common courtesy to call us! Spent our time and money and was never told the car could be sold from under us. We thought if weve committed to this car and have another appointment for it to pay for another diagnostic test then it should be honored. Very poor customer service. We were told by Customer No Service Manager that cars are in high demand so basically were out of luckily. An appointment and word of salesman to hold car is worth nothing anymore with this company! Just shows its not about the customer, its about making the almighty dollar with this company! Will never buy a car from them again!

David Cho was our salesman this afternoon and he was a fantastic guy to work with! He paid excellent attention to what we were looking for and he was happy to help with suggestions. While they were out of stock on the vehicle we originally came in to view, we were able to see older models of the same type for comparison. In the end the first vehicle he showed us ended up being the one for us. Trust this guys judgment - hes great at his job and will get you into the right car!

Let me start by saying I purchased my car here in 2019, brand new. The sales experience was fine, but service since then has been terrible.Dont bother setting an appointment, youll end up waiting for hours regardless. They dont manage their time well and their record keeping system is awful. I spent 2 weeks going back and forth between the dealership and my side of town. My car was having trouble starting, and its still under warranty. I took it into Honda for a diagnostic test.The first appt, started at 10a, and they told me they had NO RECORD of my scheduled appointment...so I had to wait 2.5 hours. They came back and told me the battery failed, so they gave me a brand new one. I took the car home, and the next day it wouldnt start again. So I had to wait a few days for another appointment to be available. I show up for my second appointment and they tell me I need to leave the car there all day, so they can run more tests.I receive no updates on my car, and end up calling them at 4:30p. They inform me that they need to keep the car overnight, because the car started just fine for them.I call the next day, no answer. I call later that day again, no answer. So I finally get a ride over there, to see whats going on. They told me the car just needed software updates and it should start just fine.Guess what. Next day, the car didnt start. When I call them back, to schedule a THIRD appt. for a diagnostic check, the service advisor told me they didnt have any appointments until next week. and that I would need to pay $150+ for a diagnostic test. He also told me there are no notes in my account that show all the tests the previously ran. He gave me attitude and talked down to me, as if I dont understand how a push to start works, implying that I was the problem and not the car.So I took my car to the Beaverton Honda. Guess what. WITHIN THE HOUR THEY HAD DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM. Turns out the push to start had a recall on it, and they needed to replace it. Apparently all they did was look it up, and found the recall. They were shocked when I explained my experience at Ron Tonkin Honda.I will never return to Ron Tonkin Honda. Theyre rude, incompetent, and poorly managed. Go to the Beaverton Honda dealership instead!!!
