Town place fitness is the kind of fitness experience everybody should want. Usually when you join a gym, you go in, you use the machines, you’re isolated, and you just go about your business. While that’s still an option if you want it, Town Place Fitness brings more value to the community experience.My trainer is an amazing trainer and has cultivated an atmosphere that makes you want to come together as a community and get fit, hold each other accountable, and push yourself to be better. They pushes you to be in great shape mentally and physically, but she also pushes you to be a better person. Other trainers bring their different styles to the table and you get the ability to learn from so many different people. There are always smiles; there is always love; there is always a joy resonating in Town Place Fitnesd and I would recommend it to anybody, of any age, of any background.

Don’t review too much but this place deserved one. Fantastic upgrades all the way around the gym and they continue to make improvements. Luc was very welcoming, and the front desk staff is always super friendly. The cleaning staff also does a great job ensuring machines are clean and disinfectants are available.

I love this gym. They were very accommodating during covid-19 with deep cleans and rooftop classes. Some guests were inevitably obnoxious and staff couldve been more aggressive with mask policy.They also have some cool machines i havent seen elsewhere like the hamstring stretch machine and the hip reflexor stretching machine. I like how management asks guests what they want, like before they ordered protein snacks.

I really loved this gym when I was a member. Clean, new equipment, helpful staff.However, when the covid shutdown happened I contacted them multiple times and asked for my membership to be put on hold until I could safely get back to the gym and they ignored me and kept charging me membership for several months.They never even cancelled my account, I just got a new debit card.I loved this gym but I dont plan on going back.

I wish I could give them 0 start. I am totally disappointed by their customer services. I went to their gym to freeze my membership account because my company office closed due to the COVID-19. I signed the paperwork and they told me I am all set. However, starting from July, they charged me again. I called them to figure out the issue, but they just said the previous manager has left and they didnt see any signed paperwork in their file. Instead, they asked me for the signed paperwork to approve myself, but I never got a copy of that. I emailed their new manager Ron to investigate the issue. He only asked me to pay and refused to freeze my membership account. I have never seen a business who would treat their customers this unfairly. This is an extremely awful experience for me. They only care about money. But they dont understand good customer service is the core of their business.Guys, please dont waste your money on them!!!!!!!!

After new renovations I love this gym now.

Equipment is state of the art. Just need more mirrors and ventilation. Otherwise I really enjoyed it.

Best gym around. Visiting pittsburgh for the week and this gym provided for all my needs. Can’t wait to return during summer to play basketball on the rooftop. The equipment is super nice and the staff are nice. Ryan smith and Natalie were first class with assistance on signing up and tours. I will be back!

Been a member of this gym for four years and have seen it transform from a place I felt comfortable going to for the price it offered, but then it became “Town Place Fitness” and now I’m charged double and was never notified? I can’t cancel over the phone, the renovations mean less space, and from the start my sister was given a greater discount for her membership than me, who is also a student in university. I don’t recommend coming here if you’re in need of a gym, I’d go as far as saying you’re better off traveling far than wasting your money here. Real disappointment from a place that’s supposed to motivate you.

WOW. I cant fathom how wonderful this gym is, the best Ive seen so far. I came in to ask about a week pass, and the front desk staff was so friendly personable and full of smiles. I never experienced such great customer service before. Way to go

I cannot say enough good things about the owner, Tyler. He is the most helpful person and was so willing to make the process so easy for me to join. He is kind and willing to go to extra mile to make sure that you have a good experience with your membership. The classes at the gym are very really effective and easily accessable because of the many times available.

Ive only been a member since November but Tyler and his staff have been nothing but super helpful. They have been going through awesome upgrades with renovations and new equipment. I have been recruiting my friends to join lol. Lots of space to workout and you never have to wait for a machine.

Thankful for a gym (people) who are investing so much into the downtown PGH community 🤙**I joined this gym when it was part of the Golds Gym franchise. Town Fitness has been a major improvement in both customer service and the gyms aesthetics. I actually enjoy my work outs more because it doesnt feel like a dated, crusty downtown gym. There are quite a few diverse spaces for different workouts which is important to me because of height for jump roping..etc. Improvements like painting the walls and new equipment here and there are continuously being made. Cool to be a part of a growing gym.

Terrible costumer service, membership fees and payments are backwards they do not handle their own memberships and payments. They charged me 2 annual fees in the same year, 2020, the worse year to have this kind of screw up. It was way better as Golds Gym honestly. Im going back to Planet Fitness!!!!

This is a terribly run and managed gym. Since taking over from the previous owners of Golds Gym they have been mischarging my account. When trying to contact them and solve this issue, the manager was no where to be found and made no attempt to try and handle this situation.DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM. They will scam you out of your money and do not care about their members or the community.

My husband and I have taken 6 boxing classes so far, 3 introductory classes and 3 intermediate. We are new to boxing and enjoyed it so much that we immediately went to buy our own boxing gloves after our 1st class. Great way to relieve stress, and the intermediate classes will give you a solid workout. Would highly recommend to people thinking about getting into boxing, 1st class is free.

Called to cancel my membership and was told to come in person. Once I came in I was told since it’s not 30 days in advance I will still be charge the following month. I can understand a couple business days but not 30. You guys should tell people that! Extremely disappointed so I will never go back to that gym, I feel scammed. It’s bad enough I’ve been paying for months I wasn’t going. Horrible smh

Town Place Fitness is a great work out center with big equipment for us big and tall men. The GYM staff care, but I have a gay stalker in town as an Asexual-Celibate, who took away my freedom to feel safe why in the gym. I cant wait to return at a later time to use the equipment to stay fit.

Theyre in the process of renovating it. Everything theyve renovated so far looks great, and theyre getting all new equipment which is cool too. Update: Removing stars due to billing issue they refused to fix.

One of the best gyms I have been to. A bit crowded at times but the only thing they need is a pool or hot tub.

Big gym with lots of amenities, but not very clean. It always smells dirty walking in and then the bathrooms are worse. If it was cleaner I would give it a 5/5.*edit*I dropped this down to 1 star because of my poor experience with the personal training department. My trainer was impersonal and did not talk to me during our training (super uncomfortable). I also felt he was never prepared for our sessions. He would ask me what I wanted to do that day (isnt that his job?) and then would scramble thinking of things for me to do as I was standing there. Canceling was a nightmare. There is a huge disconnect between the training manager and corporate. Through the gym, it was a very unclear process and I was givem inaccurate information. Speaking to corporate was a much better process and they actually tried to help me (which they did). I would not recommend this gym. There are cleaner gyms with better staff in the area. Choose one of them. This place was the biggest waste of my money.

Why is there always dust in the womens locker room? Ive seen it months ago and its still there, in between the walls and the lockers... Why does it still have to be cleaned? Also, can you PLEASE clean your bathrooms, or its not possible?? 2 times out of 4/week I cant use your bathroom because its so dirty. Hygiene in a gym should have a high-level priority!

Gym is very small n always packed. Gym trainers don’t clean the equipments after using it. Always have a terrible experience when some trainers or gym employees use it. Trainers/employees please follow gym rules and clean the equipments after using it.

Its better then golds gym when they were here. At least a 4 starIm not talking about the poor billing policies, strictly the gym itself is a 4/5Trust me I dont agree with a 60$ annual fee either. But town place has successfully gotten rid of all the competition in Downtown Pittsburgh. They are the only gym left.

Made multiple attempts to cancel membership they continued to bill me and report me to collections. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

I’ve been a member since this gym was part of the GOLD’S franchise; when the gym became TPF the service increased as well as the facilities.The gym is currently being remodeled, the 2nd floor (mostly cardio equipment) is completed and is fantastic! Now the 1st floor (mainly squat racks, free weights, and machines) is in progress, however the new equipment is arriving and is creating so much excitement!!I am very happy with the new management and upgrades! I cannot say enough good things about TPF - - not to mention the general manager Tyler is a GEM!

I canceled my membership 2 months ago and they’re still charging me! I went into the gym and talked to a manager that clearly is a lazy guy he told me he would cancel it and yet here I am 2 months later getting charged for a gym I haven’t been to in 2 months! I highly recommend finding a new gym!

Worst gym ever. Don’t even think to visit. I had a free 7 days to try they cut it from the second day. And did not let me enter the gym.Michigan’s are so old I heard it used to be used for other gym and they did not renew it. It doesn’t deserve even one star

Excellent gym, a bit pricey - but considering that it is Downtown and facilities, equipment, and staff are awesome - you can make a case for the membership cost.

Ive been a member here before the name change and still a member here. Enjoys everything about this gym.

Ive moved far from Pittsburgh downtown and not able to go there for months. When I called them for cancellation told me that I need to be there physically. When I went there told me that I need to be there during business hours. Then I managed taking day off from my work and go there for cancellation. But even though I cancelled my membership, they charged me again..! So think twice before becoming a member of this gym.

Be warned that the full payment terms will not be disclosed. At least they werent for me. Im moving and had to cancel my membership. I was charged an annual fee on top of my monthly fee 90 days after I initially signed up.

After a bad experience trying to cancel my membership with the front desk person, the GM helped me out and got the membership cancelled easily without having to come in and got a couple months refunded on my card.

The management is horrible... equipment is low quality and doesn’t work and the entire upstairs equipment is busted and I didn’t get a good pump in at all and nia was very unprofessional and is lazy and doesn’t care about the gym

Started going to this gym in Jan 2020. Signed up with a personal trainer. The trainer got irritated easily n was very condescending. The pandemic hit and the gym closed. I still tried to work with my trainer with zoom sessions but my number n email changed. The gym not trainer neither tried to contact me through those troubling times though my home address. A year later Im getting charged a 1000 dollars from a collection agency
