Today wasnt the first time weve utilized Terrys services, but I definitely need to leave a review, this time. We had a clogged toilet, and no amount of plunger-ing was doing the trick. So, I called Terrys late on a Saturday night, and he was at our house before noon on Sunday. He worked quickly and efficiently, and most importantly, got the job done right. The rates were VERY reasonable, too, considering this was a weekend emergency.Highly recommended!!

Weve had several plumbing issues from leaky pipes, to floor drains backing up, and most recently needing to replace the water line from the street to our shut off. They definitely went the extra mile while working at our house. I will never call another plumber as long as Im in the area. Terrys customer service from the initial call until the job is complete is outstanding. Unlike other plumbers I have used in the past, Terry and his crew arrives on time, does great work, and gives you a fair and honest price. I had a main sewer line back up into my garage and laundrey room. I called Terrys on a Sunday and fortunately he was in my neighborhood. He was at my house in approximately 5 minutes, assessed the source of the problem and had it fixed within an hour. Terry explained everything he was doing and why. I would not recommend them at all to anyone. They did the work of hooking up kitchen sink & faucet with replacing old drain with newer pipe. It is relatively simple work. The price is much much higher. I was forced to work with Terrys as most of the other plumbers recommended to me all booked/busy for next two to three weeks.First, they scare the heck of out you with saying that we may need to change the whole pipe from basement and all kind of stuff. This is just to make sure you agree for the higher price they going to quote. What a rip off!Once, get down to work is basically simple stuff that can be done in a hour or two. But, the plumber came just prolonged enough time to justify the higher price!

Installed gas line as well as repairs and remodeling on inside of home. Excellent workmanship whether it is done by Terry, one of his sons, son in law, or other employees!

Rick from Terry’s did a great job installing a new pressure regulating valve and shutoff valve on our aging main waterline. They came out just a few days after my initial call, worked quickly and cleanly, and the final bill was $495 instead of the quoted $685 (more than a 30% savings)! We’ve used Terry’s for decades and have always been big fans of their work. Even Terry himself has come out to the house for jobs occasionally. Great family run company!!

I hired Terrys Plumbing to do a sewer line inspection as part of buying a house. While they were initially responsive, they ended up completely screwing me over. They showed up on time and did the inspection. But they never delivered the report on what they found or an estimate for the repair work. When I called to inquire, they told me they needed to check with the plumber and would get back to me that same day. I never heard from them again. It cost me a little bit for a report they never delivered, but cost much more in my ability to negotiate the house price. At least they also cost themselves a bunch, too: I likely would have hired them to do the repair had they only delivered the report. But instead, they took my small inspection fee and disappeared.

To their credit they came out next day and were very professional. But $90 for a service call plus $80 to be here for 30 minutes ($170 total) when they were unable to even identify true problem. I find the billing a bit excessive when all they did was cut a hole in a ceiling. It might be good they didnt find the leak, I would not want to see what they charge if actual work needed done. I would not use again

We had a real nightmare on our hands, and Ill spare you the details. From the time they took my call until the time the repair was made, the saved our a$$es. We were super happy with the plumber that made the repair, as several things went wrong (unforeseen issues) and he never thought of quitting for the night (which would have left us without water.) Patient and professional. Thanks again.

I highly recommend them. And not just for the bread! We had an old gas line fail under the yard. Called the closest plumber who came out and quoted a fee which I found hard to believe. Called around to some friends and Terrys name came up a few times. Called him and his crew was onsite within a half hour quoting me HALF of what the original estimate was. They started work on a handshake!, finished quickly and did excellent work. I was nice to find somebody that still cared about the work they do and not just maximizing revenue.

Theyre my first choice for plumbing projects. Ive had them over for big laundry room remodels, simple things like pin-hole leaks and sink repair, and estimates. Chris and Joe are particularly great, and the owner Terry is personable and down to earth. Communication from the office is outstanding (I usually work with Kathy).The last time they were here, they noticed a safety problem with the hot water heater that had nothing to do with what they were fixing. Even though it was the end of the day, they went out of their way to open up the flue pipe and troubleshoot it, at no additional cost - just because they cared about safety.All around, just a good, trustworthy local business.

I am doing a major upgrade of the plumbing on my 40 year old house. I called Terrys to get an estimate on the project. When the plumbers arrived they reviewed the project and confirmed the pricing. While doing the work they found a few other problems. They showed me what was wrong and gave me an estimate. I am very happy with the quality of the work and the items they install. I compared the pricing of the work for the project with another plumbing company, and I believe that I was treated very fairly and got a great value from Terrys plumbing. Overall I am very pleased with the project and would recommend Terry plumbing to anyone.

If the way your employees drive (tailgating for a mile in a 25mph zone, erratically pulling around to pass and speed away) is any indication of their work, then pass on this service. Maybe talk to whoever was driving on Perrysville Ave at 3:05pm Saturday August 4th because they really shouldn’t be on the road.

After a bad experience with another big name plumbing company, Terry took the stress out of months of dealing with a reoccurring issue with a clogging drain. Not only did the other company not take care of our drain but they tried to sell us on a bigger job that would cost thousands of dollars. Terry came out himself, quickly, unclogged our drain and never tried to sell us a bigger job. His honesty was a breath of fresh air. Is will not hesitate to call him again in the future for our plumbing needs.Thank you!

Plumber was “unable” to do the requested job the day he came and returned the following day. First day cost 170 bucks to be followed up with an additional 300 the next once he had enough time. Nearly $500 for a dripping shower head.. no wonder there was so much labor time as he went back and forth to his truck a dozen times at the pace of a garden snail.Efficiency wasn’t a priority

Terry talked me out of a service call!I booked Terry to come unclog my sewer the next day, but once I found one of the Big Names to come basically immediately, I called to cancel the appointment with Terry.A few days later, Terry called and left a message, urging me to call him to make sure I knew what I was getting into with that Big Name. After a short-but-not-too-short phone call, I was convinced that I should wait and see rather than immediately booking a humungous sewer replacement. Note that he didnt try to get me to use his company instead, but rather not to do anything unless it became obviously necessary!Terrys personality, humor, and candor won me over, and Ill be sure to use him next time I have a plumbing issue (which is hopefully never, but lets be real). Over the years Ive come to value those service people who tell you when NOT to pay them—anyone can make a mountain out of a molehill, but it takes special strength of character to show the customer no, look, its just a little molehill. Strong mojo, to make a loyal customer without ever charging a dime.

Terrible company. I decided to give them a try even though I was advised repeatedly not to. All of the highly recommended plumbers were weeks out. They never showed up, they never called, and they never called me back. This, along with them overcharging for simple work and adding more things in that did not need done, is exactly why so many people warned me not to use them. End conclusion, they were all right!

If you want to get ripped off...this is the plumber to call. I was charged $395 plus $69 service call charge - $464 to replace 8-10 of copper pipe. The job took 30 minutes or less. The last time I had this problem, a different (reputable) plumber charged me $159 (and no service call charge)to replace 5 of copper pipe. Just saying...talk about taking advantage of the situation. And beware, this plumber doesnt have an hourly rate. They charge per job, which means theyll charge you whatever they feel like charging. Never again.

The service is AMAZING!! I found out my water heater was leaking at 5:00 am and they had someone out to replace it by 9:15 am.... And the had it replaced on an hour and 10 minutes! They were so helpful and responsive and I cannot thank them enough for making it happen so quickly and easily!

The service line for my natural gas had a leak. Terry and his team were quick to respond and repair it with minimal harm to my property. Not only were they quick and neat but Terry did the job for thousands less than their competition. Fair, honest and great work. Will use again for any plumbing needs. Great to work with.

We had a sewer back up, he came right away, he found the problem fixed it right away and didnt try and sell us on other services that we didnt need. He even gave us a loaf of italian bread he just got from the bakery. Terry is an honest, caring man and truly cares about his customers and community.

A different company claimed they could not get past the sewer trap for a sewer line inspection and were charging QUITE a lot of money to replace the trap, etc. just to complete the inspection. Terry came and spent the time to clean out the existing trap in order to complete a full inspection for a fraction of what the other company was going to charge. He was kind, professional, helpful, and informative. I would never use anyone other than Terrys Plumbing!

Had to get a section of sewer line replaced. The break was directly underneath our concrete steps. I really didnt want to tear up the steps for this, and they were able to tunnel underneath. They did a fantastic job preserving the surrounding area, protecting the driveway, cleaning up each day, and finishing the work in a timely manner. They are honest and help you with your situation, versus other plumbers who exploit it for more money. Ive used different plumbers over the years for various things, but Ill be sticking to Terrys Plumbing from now on.

Ill start by saying that they absolutely fixed the problem I called them for but I also dont think it was a problem that any plumber couldnt have solved. The problem was that they quoted me $400-$500 as they said it would take two people about 4 hours to complete the problem. It took them about an hour and a half so I thought to myself well this is going to be on the low end of that range. They charged me $475+$100 because they said they replaced a shutoff valve. But they definitely put the top of my counter where the sink was about an inch further away from the wall... showing an unpainted gap that looks awful.

Ive used Terrys for several years now. They have always been responsive, honest, professional and a great value. Definitely my go-to for any plumbing issues.

I appreciate the prompt response from this company! Within a half hour they were able to clear through my my basement drain pipe. Reasonable! Responsive! Honest! I am in the process of selling my home. The buyers inspection report stated I needed to do so much work with the plumbing and the costs involved were astronomical! After being quoted an an astronomical amount of money to dig up our basement to find out what the problem was, we called Terry.  He responded very quickly, came on time, and suggested that we dig around the hole on the outside of the house. This company is amazing! The drain in my garage was backed up on a Friday night. I called Terry’s and they got back to me early on Saturday morning. I have used several different plumbing companies in the North Hills and once I found Terrys I havent looked back. They are always prompt, professional, and know exactly what they are doing. They have straight-forward pricing, every technician has been friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to spend the time to answer all my questions. I cant say enough good things- finding a legitimately honest and well-priced plumber has been a huge challenge in the Pittsburgh area. Terrys has helped me with a basement sewage backup, a backyard rainwater drain issue, and gas leaks from a hot water heater. If I could give six stars I would, not to mention their receptionist is lovely and will connect you to a plumber before booking an appointment to make sure its an issue that needs a professional.

They were called due to a shower that would not get at all warm. Upon removing two screws one would find a mixing valve. The only possible issue that most anyone could determine is a malfunctioning valve. In order to fix the valve the water needs shut off entirely or the house would flood. The first time around the water was never shut off and the shower was left fixed, however it would not get cooler than scalding hot. They were called back to address the problem they didnt fix the first time around and stated that it would be an additional hundreds of dollars. Actually they stated that there was two problems and they only addressed one, or none, or whatever... plumbers right? Sure. Anyway, it turns out the maker of the shower replaces the valves free of charge with a lifetime warranty and they are incredibly simple to install. I will admit I was somewhat lazy and shouldve done it myself. I would appreciate them to admit their attempted scam. Also, what company uses the customers wash rags to clean up their dirt?

I had an issue with 2 toilets. One seemed as though it might overflow. The other needed the tank mechanism replaced. The first plumber I called told me parts werent available and that 1 toilet would have to be replaced. He told me the other would be a major job that he couldnt schedule for weeks. So I told him to forget it and called Terrys. Terrys plumber fixed one toilet on the spot, and checked the other. He verified nothing was clogged and no additional service was necessary. Terrys also schedule me more quickly than the first guy.

Totally pleased with the service I received today.Holiday weekend and yet when I called the lady said someone would be here within the hour . Not in a million years would I hire this company. I believe it was Terry who tried to strong arm me at our business (leased property) about putting in a gas line. The owner of the property hired Terry but was never sent contracts on time and because of that it was delayed weeks to the point that now Terry cannot do the work as it isn’t vacant anymore. On top of that, he had his guys remove our drop ceiling (after we specifically told them not to) onto fabric product that is now destroyed. Thanks. I’m a business owner too and never would I speak with our customers the way he did towards me. He flat out lied several times insisting our owner was selling the building and they had to start the job immediately (Not true, our owner is not selling 🙄) Save the hassle, call someone else.

I called on a Saturday and someone was at my house within an hour and a few minutes. The plumbing problem I had was fixed in a reasonable amount of time. Great!!!! I called with a sewer problem and the owner shows up within 3 hours and fixes the problem. I wanted to get the pipes re-lined and he said I didnt need to. Very honest and took the time to explain everything!! Ive had at least 6 other plumbers to my house over the years and none of them had the expertise of Terry. Dont go anywhere else, call Terry.

Been waiting on a call back since last Wednesday. Called back and followed up multiple times since and they kept saying someone would call me but never did.

We are in the process of selling out home. Even though the home inspector recommended we get our sewer line fixed, and Terry could have easily completed the job to the tune of $6K, he told both us and the realtors involved that it would be better to take out an insurance policy on the sewer line instead, saving us literally thousands of dollars. He could have kept his opinion to himself and completed the job and we never would have known for the better. But Terry wanted to do what was right by us and offer us his unbiased opinion. We are so grateful that we called Terry!!

Called Terrys Plumbing on a Saturday night due to water leaking in my walls due to my washing machine on my 2nd level. The office staff was very friendly and within 5--10 minutes, Terry called me directly and talked me off the ledge. He was a big help in pinpointing me to do the right things until he could get there the following morning. Everyone was very nice and the service was fantastic. Id definitely recommend them and will use them again in the future if needed!

Had Terry’s plumbing come out once before for a leaky pipe in the basement. No issues great work so we called them back when we had an issue with a pipe needing to be replaced under our utility sink to drain the washer. They tried to take us to the cleaners. Wanted to ripe out everything to do it the “right” way. $1300 quote including a new basin sink that they want $500-$800 for. I told them I would “think about it.” As the truck is leaving I look up utility sinks; $150-$250. Called Matt Mertz and they were in and out for $250 everything works great. Don’t call these people, save your money, and do your research!!!

While i feel Terrys plumbing has very prompt service, and the work done is professional. I feel they are very highly priced. I had a garbage disposal and faucet replaced. I supplied the disposal and they supplied the sink. The bill was 793 dollars. I asked the receptionist to have terry call me back, and he never did.

100% satisfied.I woke up on a very cold day to find that some of my pipes had frozen. I called to a couple providers and Terrys plumbing was actually referred to me by another local plumber. Very disappointed with customer service, never received a call back with an estimate.We called and set up an appointment for someone to come out because we had a leak in a first floor shower into our basement. Plumber came out on time, tested a couple of things, diagnosed it as crack in our shower pan. Said he was unable to give us an estimate to fix it, but Bob would call us with more information. Waited a week, no phone call. I called the office and asked for an update, received an apology, said Bob would call us the next day. Waited another week, called the office, received another apology, assured me Bob would call the next day. Well, that was two weeks ago, and Bob has never called us.So basically thanks for nothing. 3 times we were told this mysterious Bob would call us about our issue, he never has. Very disappointing to waste this much time and be no closer to actually having the leak fixed.

From the time the phone was first answered until the courteous knowledgeable gentleman left with my problem completely fixed (and then some), Terrys plumbing was a joy to work with. They were at my home within 3 hours of my first call and every step of the way things were explained to me and I was given options on what needed to be done and what things were optional at this time. Outstanding! I had a very large plumbinG company tell me I needed to replace my sewer line after doing a blurry sewer camera job. They left a bill for $200 and a quote from 5-12,000$ To dig out the “busted line”. I did not feel comfortable with the high pressure sales job. I wanted a second opinion. Terry came and gave a second opinion. His camera was crystal clear. He cameraworked to the same area and we found it was the p-trap! Sewer line was perfectly fine! The big plumber guy was going to dig up the yard for absolutely no reason! I am still in shock that the biG company wanted to have me pay $89 per month for 5 years to destroy my perfectly fine sewer line.

I had a hot water heater replaced and the price was a fraction of what other companies had quoted me. They even showed up next day when other companies had a 1-week wait. I will (without question) use Terrys plumbing again the next time I need anything plumbing related.

I cant stress enough how glad I am that I called Terrys plumbing. Matt Mertz Quoted me $250/hr for a clogged main. Terrys was only $89 total and came out the very next morning. If you have someone quoting you thousands for an extensive job, I would definitely give these guys a call for a quick second opinion.

I had them out to Fix a leak in the bathroom which I wasn’t sure where it was coming from. Being that I am not a plumber, I called the professional to come help. I was relying on them to diagnose properly and FIX the leak. After looking up and around for a while, the plumber seemed unable to diagnose where the leak was coming from and decided to replace part of the vent pipe (that wasn’t leaking) and proceeded to charge us $300 to do so. Prior tohim replacing the vent pipe, we had mentioned several times that we thought it may be the toilet. After replacing the vent pipe, that didn’t need replaced, the leak was still occurring. Not wanting him to do anything else we declined further service. As he was taking our payment, in which he said “he felt guilty” doing, water was stills dripping from above in the background.Thinking there was some compromise to be had for unnecessary work completed and a leak still occurring, we called the office (not even expecting to get all our money back, just anything to help). They would not accommodate in any way shape or form. I would not use Terry’s Plumbing again.

Had Terrys plumbing come in to add the underground plumbing for an additional bathroom in the basement. The guys that came to do the work were friendly, courteous, and made sure that I understood each step of the process and why they were doing what they were doing. I was also able to have them do as little or as much of the rough in as I chose which is nice since I will be doing all of the other plumbing and just needed the underground work done. I appreciated the consistant follow-up from the office to assure the work was moving forward and that the workers were doing a good job. Site was cleaned and swept. I would reccomend and would use them again.

I just had Rick fix a plumbing issue that has been a horror. I was amazed at his professional and friendly attitude, and the swiftness with which he diagnosed and solved the problem. I will never use any other company for plumbing issues. In addition, the person answering the phone was very kind and got someone to help me on the same day. Thank you Rick and Terrys Plumbing!

I did not have a good experience with Terrys plumbing. I was told there would be a $70 service call to assess what the issue was - low pressure in my shower. The plumber from Terrys came and was very nice but did almost nothing to assess or fix the issue. When the appointment was over I was charged $122 because the $70 was just for him to show up, not for his time while there. Needless to say I still have low water pressure and no resolution in sight. They also pushed the date back a day which wasnt ideal. I feel like I was overcharged and got nothing out of it.

Thanks for great service at even a better price. Lets hope it never clogs again! But if it does you are on speed dial.

Ive had a wonderful experience with Terrys Plumbing. I called them to open up a clogged drain pipe in the basement. Once the guys got there, it was cleared within 45 minutes, and the two guys who showed up were pleasant and on time. They had a special going on, and I was charged $89. While they were there, I had them quote replacing the main line from the house out to the road. I had this quoted twice before the prior summer by Gillece and another company (I think it was Mr. Rooter). The other guys quotes both came in around $12,000. Terrys charged me the fee to send the camera down the line and the time to look at it, about $90 (the line was in terrible shape, tree roots entering every connection of 4-foot terracotta over a 30-foot section).The two guys who first showed up called in what had to be done to the main office, and within 30 minutes of that, Terry himself showed up to inspect the line and give me a firm quote. Terrys quote was $3,900...thats less than 1/3 the other two guys! Within an hour of Terry being there, there were 3 new guys at the house with a small backhoe getting to work on removing the old line. That was Wednesday afternoon, and by Friday mid-day, I had a new main-line and the work was complete, no hassles at all.The best thing about this is that I told the first two guys that showed up how much the other companies quoted to replace that same line. Terrys could have quote me just a few thousand dollars under the other guys quotes, and I would have still gone with Terrys...but he didnt do that; he gave me a fair price even knowing he could have made more money and I would have still been happy. I will definitely be using Terrys for any plumbing jobs in the future!

A few weeks ago my 3 year old decided hed throw river rock down our vent pipe into our sewer drain. Before we noticed hed filled the ten foot deep pipe with 5 feet of rock. We called another company (the best in the business) and were pressured into starting work the next day for $4500, which didnt even include the price of replacing sidewalks and landscaping that would be destroyed in the process. They also suggested we might line the drain for another $10,000. Not wanting to have raw sewage back up in our basement we panicked and scheduled the work for the next day.That night we called Terry, got a return call from a plumber and then from Terry himself within 10 minutes. He told us to cancel the other plumber and that hed come by himself the next morning. He did, talked us through our options, gave us a quote at $2200 and then offered to save us money if I was willing to do labor. He told me I could even borrow tools from his shop and that hed coach me through doing it myself if that were possible. Finally he suggested we call a septic service to see if they could suck out the rocks one by one so we didnt have to dig anything up.The septic service was able to do the work for $280! Terry came back himself and put a camera down the line to make sure everything was clear. He then told me how to replace the vent cap myself, which I did with some elbow grease and $25 worth of parts.Long story short, Terry referred someone else to do our work (costing his company $2200) just to save us money and aggravation. He came out to our house for free twice, offered his services for free, and actually refused payment when I offered it for sending the camera down the line. I will never call another company again. TERRY IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST.

Charged $160.00 to look at a leak and do nothing to fix it. Insisted immediately that we would need to gut and remodel the entire bathroom and refused to perform any stopgap repair at all in spite of the $160.00 charge. When I asked about a temporary measure, I was told there was absolutely nothing that could be done for less than $300 or knocking out a wall. A different plumber figured out a temporary fix in 2 minutes. 2 stars instead of 1 because they accurately analyzed what was wrong with the plumbing and were able to come out immediately, but it was pretty expensive to then have someone spend most of the call trying to sell me a full remodel. Which they would not have been able to fit in for 4 months, so Im not sure where I was expected to shower until then.

They will charge you a $100/hr diagnostic fee even if they do not fix a problem. This was not disclosed to me up front and got a $150 bill to tell me that my pipes were corroded and needed fixed when I refused service.

These guys are a step, or 10 steps, above the rest. They fixed my water heater on a weekend, were onsite within an hour and a half, and finished up incredibly fast. We had a small issue the next day, and they were back onsite in 15 minutes to fix it.I wont call anyone else now.

They are always super friendly and helpful. Their pricing is also reasonable.
