They went above and beyond the issue and sealed up any other possible causes of concern while being knowledgeable of situation, friendly, and professional.

I have had a great experience with Nexus. Their maintenance work has been top-notch, they are very responsive and the house was spacious and affordable. Our security deposit was initially wrongly charged for a couple of items, but they cleared it up after they got our email. I will highly recommend Nexus to anyone.

This is a review for Fran and Fran only! She did a great job on my place in Squirrel Hill. Great maintenance services--once they get to you.Nexus as a company....eh....I didnt have AC for first month and many maintenance issues were delayed heavily due to a labor shortage. They did not respond to an email regarding rent reduction or reimbursement.For being a more luxury lot in Squirrel Hill South (not cheap), youd expect better. The dumpster area is normally pretty nasty -- I dont think they recycle.

So far Ive had nothing but great experiences with Nexus. My real estate agent Arabelle was more than helpful and very responsive. Id been looking for apartments for about a month before she came along and after that, everything was nice and quick and easy. The apartment was gorgeous and all my issues so far have been taken care of!

Moved to Shady Dr in June without even inspecting property - trusting photos and description posted. Guess what...false advertisement. We walked into dirty unit with clogged toilet and paint stain all over the place. Windows screens were not installed and they left it there for us to do it. I would be able to get over it if they showed at list some of professionalism and responsiveness. Apartment got flooded due to leak on the roof on 06/14/2021 and guess what - I still live with open, moldy, crumbly ceiling in my kitchen. The latest, got notification for parking in wrong spot and actually paying extra for garage.

Arabelle was my real estate agent in my process and my second apartment w Nexus. She was very helpful and informative throughout the process from viewing to signing the lease, getting my keys, and even making some necessary changes to the lease. I worked with Arabelle throughout the initial process and she was easily one of the best customer service experiences Ive had. Very friendly, fast to respond, and very patient and knowledgeable when we ran into issues along the way.

Not the cleanest place I have lived, but I was able to take care of the cockroaches and mice myself. Likewise I had to seal the AC unit they put in a cutout in the wall, since they did not seal it upon installation. There was a ton of paint on the floor as well, I was able to clean that off without much difficulty. I only had to interact with management once while returning keys lost by another tenant, and they were strangely condescending, saying something along the lines of Just mail them in, as an adult you should be able to do that. Other than that, they tried to make me pay for the condition of their appliances (which were pretty old and should probably have been replaced already).On the positive side, maintenance is reliable and the location is comfortably close to CMU and UPitt. If you decide to live there take a video of the condition when you move in and again when you move out, you may have to fight to get your deposit back.

My roommates and I moved in a week ago after agreeing to postpone the start date of our lease by 2 weeks under the pretense that this would allow management time to replace the carpets and deep clean the apartment. When we arrived neither of these things had been done and the apartment had not been touched. They had not even cleared out old items from the previous tenants like empty boxes and old brita filters that had been left in the cabinets. The longer we have stayed here the more problems we have found, most notably, a very leaky ceiling in one of the bedrooms that has made it unsuitable for our one roommate to stay in. It has caused mildew and mold to accumulate. We have called numerous numerous times, but have only been able to speak with someone once. That conversation is the only reason we were able to get cleaners to come in and clean the bathrooms and kitchen. Other than that we have left at least 3 voice messages, 2 maintenance requests, and at least 2 emails inquiring about the leak, the carpet, and the dishwasher that is also leaking and unusable because of it. We have not heard back in over a week from anyone except for one of the maintenance men who worked on our roof. The man who tried to patch our roof was kind enough to give us his number and communicated with us when the property manager would not. Other than him however, we have heard nothing from anyone about the status of our unit and its priority in being attended to. The roof patch did not work and we are still waiting for someone to return to the apartment to try to fix the leak again, not to mention patching and painting the interior and replacing the now very moldy carpet. We are incredibly upset with the management and the unprofessionalism we have so far experienced. It is absurd that an established real estate and rental company should not be able to respond to tenants who are paying thousands. We are still expecting roof and dishwasher fixed and carpets replaced because that is what was agreed upon. We feel disrespected and taken advantage of by this company at the moment and hope they will amend this somehow, but expectations are low.

I have rented from Nexus for almost 5 years & I’m quite happy with my experience. I haven’t had many maintenance issues but when I have they’re always handled quickly & efficiently. The maintenance man I’ve dealt with most often is named Vinnie. He’s not only professional but also personable. He’s very knowledgeable. I feel that he values the tenants safety & privacy. He’s always respectful of my property also. Knowing that I can trust Vinnie in my apartment gives me peace of mind.

I recently moved into a Nexus property, and the experience thus far has been a nightmare. Upon move-in, the apartment was filthy. We had to stop the moving process to clean the floors, counters, etc. This is especially disappointing as Nexus lists extravagant move-out fees if the tenant does not perform thorough cleaning. In addition, there were multiple items in the apartment either not functioning or not finished. The worst being the central air unit. During the hottest stretch of the year thus far, we had to wait over a week to get someone out to replace it. There was no offer of providing us a window or portable unit to hold us out in the meantime.The apartment sat vacant for over a month, so Nexus should have caught all of this before move in. A simple quality check would have brought all these issues to light. Once the lease was signed and Nexus was collecting payments, it was apparent no care was put in having the place move-in ready. Moving forward, I would avoid renting from Nexus.

There have been multiple issues requiring maintenance since I have moved in such as the hot water heater needing replacement. However the serviceman, Corey has been professional and efficient.

I lived here for two years now. The staff have helped me so many times. They were never once impatient with my requests. Kori Sergent helped me out so much at my most difficult times. The other staffs are also very helpful. My maintenance requests were always attended to very quickly. I truly appreciate all of you!

Vinny is a great maintenance technician and I really appreciate his knowledge and communication. He made sure leaks were fixed, patched our walls and fixed our lights at our apartment on Mt. Lebanon Boulevard. It is always inconvenient when something is inevitably in need of repair, but Vinny makes it as pleasant of an experience as possible.

I live in the Lehigh Avenue building in Shadyside. My stove was off for 2 weeks!! And I put in a maintenance request that never got answered, but Vinny, my building manager, happened to show up for an emergency plumbing issue in the building, and I asked him about it. He got it working in minutes and I am overjoyed now that I can cook again. No matter how angry I mightve been at the maintenance work order not getting filled, he definitely made it better.

Harry, in charge of maintenance, is amazing! Very helpful and responsive. He goes above and beyond for Nexus and its tenants. Although some of the properties are on the older side, people like Harry make them a great place to live in.

Our water heater died on a Friday morning and I thought for sure it would be Monday by the time someone would even look at it. Vinny U. had the old tank out and a new tank in by dinner. Great guy, great service.

Outside of the building is disgusting with garbage everywhere. No one pays attention to the noise and mNagement does nothing about it. If you are looking for quiet clean environment look elsewhere

I just moved into my apartment about a month ago and have had a few normal issues come up. Every single time something has come up it was addressed within 12 hours. This most recent time Vinny U. went above and beyond to get my problem fixed and helped feel more secure in my new place! So happy to have had his help!

Horrible company. We took Nexus to court because they charged us almost $400 for a plumbing clog we didnt cause yet charged us saying it is. When we were in court, they had no proof because the plumbing company wouldnt hand over documents. Whatever - we won in court but they tried to tell the judge that they were trying to resolve it out of court, which was a lie. It was only after they got the court papers when they tried to actually work something out. Stay away from them. Youve been warned.

Hired by either them or avas handyman all same company for a property owned by dorchester and polo pittsburg llc same address coincidently as both avas handyman and nexus realestate. They dont pay make it hard ti pursue leins. Dont do work for them

Harry is a bright spot in this company. Hes one of the most hardworking of the maintenance division. He would work from day to evening back when my basement had flooding issues. Than dude needs a RAISE!

This company does not reply to any complaints. Ive been trying to get them to turn down the heat for weeks, and they refuse. We have no control over the temperature, so they turn it up all the way to get money out of their tenants. Its currently mid seventies outside, and hotter inside. Took a month to get our mailbox keys, only for them to have given us the wrong address, so we had to change addresses AGAIN. Very dissatisfied with the business. Will avoid renting in the future.

We had a plumbing leak at our 233Ridgewood Ave apartment that was in the ceiling and bulkhead in our kitchen.Vinny U located and repaired the leak very quickly and did all the patching and painting to complete the entire project very professionally and courteously.We were notified before hand when he was planning on doing the work.Vinny was prompt with his stated time and worked very quickly and professionally, generating little mess, and cleaning what there was very thoroughly.The finished product looks great.Thanks Vinny!

Have lived at a Nexus Real Estate property for 4 years. Our water shut off in our kitchen and bathroom and Nexus has yet to do anything about it. It has been 3 days. We have left multiple maintenance requests and voicemails to no avail. If having water or other essentials of living is a necessity, avoid Nexus like the plague.

My Mervin Ave apartment bath tub needed some general maintenance and Vinny U did a great job and was very respectful and professional.

Nexus Real Estate has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. It’s impossible to get on the phone with an actual person - you’re always sent to voicemail. I have left multiple voicemails that have been unanswered and my problem has not been resolved (going on four days). I would recommend AGAINST using Nexus for any renter.

I have been a tenant with Nexus Real Estate for 2.5 years and have enjoyed my experience with them. I was recently experiencing an issue with a leak from upstairs coming into my apartment. After filing a request, Harry was able to assist me and find the cause of the issue. He communicated well and was determined to find a solution to the problem that other technicians werent able to do. I have always been happy with the experience with Nexus!

We had a heating issue in our unit at Shady Ave and Nexus was really prompt in responding to our complaint! We got a space heater in less than a day. Jim ended up being the guy to come take a look at it, and he spent several hours at our apartment working on it, and getting the issue fixed. Very happy with the response from Jim and Nexus about this issue!

Apartment had some minor issues and a wasps nest but Corey from Nexus Real Estate fixed up the place entirely and in short time.

I would give 5 stars to our recent maintenance men Harry and Anthony (I think that was his name but Im not sure). Harry helped us fix a simple electrical issue very fast and Anthony helped us replace our front door that was beaten down from weather, as well as replace some blinds. Both men were very courteous. Deducting one star only because last year we had a leaky roof and subsequent squirrel/raccoon move-in that caused quite a disturbance for many months. Overall Nexus has been a good rental company.

When I filed a maintenance request they sent a very helpful employee named Corey pretty shortly after. He explained what parts he was fixing, and told me how long it would take to get it done. Corey was respectful and diligent and is a good reflection on the standard Nexus holds for their maintenance employees.

I leased with Nexus for one year, at 1401 Mervin Avenue in Dormont. My experience was neither all good, nor all bad. I will share both sides of the coin.Positives:1) Kara Price, who showed me the apartment and discussed lease terms with me, was very nice and down to earth. She always took time to discuss and clarify any questions that I had.2) The online system used to make rent payments and gas bill payments allowed for prompt and efficient transfers to make said payments. It was nice not to have to snail mail physical checks every month.3) Making maintenance requests and keeping track of them via the online portal was a good feature too.4) Typically, maintenance requests that I put in during my stay were addressed within 24 hours, sometimes within only a few hours.Negatives:1) Parking is severely limited in the parking lot. You always had to cross your fingers and hope a spot was available, to preclude having to park on the street.2) Toward the end of my lease, right around the time I was moving out, I discovered a massive cockroach infestation. There is a hole in the floor behind the refrigerator, which appears to be the primary gateway for them to enter. This was absolutely disgusting, and unfortunately, I ended up carrying this problem over to my new apartment, which required months to get rid of. Suffice it to say, I was not happy about this.3) After vacating the premises and getting back my security deposit back, a large chunk was taken out because of the roach problem, even though it was not my fault.My guess is that it is a “dice roll” with these people. You may be fortunate to have a place with all systems running smoothly, but it seems like there are some “holes” in the system in terms of the powers that be taking responsibility and treating tenants fairly.

From having pigeons living/dying in our apartment for the first few months to the roof falling in at one point; renting from NEXUS was a disaster. However, my biggest problem was that one of the bedrooms didnt have heat all winter. Called maintenance several times to fix it and it never got any better (got down to the 50s consistently in that room). When I called to complain they basically told me to toughen up because it wasnt even a cold winter so far. After I called repeatedly they told me just to get a space heater because thats what the last tenants did; so if they knew this was a problem for previous tenants, why didnt they fix it/tell us before? In summary, they are an awful real estate company that does not care about you

This a review for the maintenance staff, specifically Vinny U. I just moved into my Oakwood Ave Apartment 15229 and Vinny responded quickly and called before he came. He recognized the problem right away and replaced some parts. The toilet was filling up so slowly so he put on a new fill valve. Done in about 10 minutes. Couldnt ask for more!

Hi I stay at 2116 Columbia Ave apt 3 and I was having trouble with my tub draining so they sent one guy name Anthony was great responding and tried to make a effort to unclog my tub but no luck so they sent another guy on the job Cory he found out where the promblem was coming from quickly which it was the kitchen sink that was having the real issue which clogged the tub up Cory was great as always he was my Maintaince guy when I moved in almost 4years ago he was a pro when it came down to fixing the promblem and even cleaned up his mess b4 he left thanks Cory you are my hero now I can take a nice hot shower your the bestMelissa on Columbia Ave

I stayed here for a year and it was the worst experience. The office never answers the phone, I have been having to pay extra for things. The neighbors are nosey and wont mind their business. No one knows how to park and had my vehicles dinged multiple times. People their dont know how to clean up after their pets. Everything was just thrown together inside. My lease is up and they are still charging me.

Recently had a leak from my laundry tub as well as the outside faucet for my hose. Steve was able to get it fixed for me right away. Steve and Vinnie also just painted my back porch and it looks great! Always know when they are handling any repairs, that its going to get done right!

They responded to my maintenance request promptly and efficiently. Shortly after the outside temperature dropped, I noticed that my heater wasnt working. Less than a day after putting in my request for maintenance, Vinnie was here and repaired the issue.

As new tenants at 127 S 17th Vinny came in to do some maintenance and did a wonderful job while carrying himself very professionally. He went out of his way to help us and let us know a few tips as first time home owners. Very happy with the service!

I moved in to an apartment that was supposed to be ready. It’s been almost 2 months and I still don’t have an oven to use. I was told they would hire a carpet cleaner before moving in. Never happened. The toilet was disgusting and had a foul smell that I had to clean. Door knobs and other things, I had to tighten myself. The fridge was falling apart. A simple walk through from management would have solved all of these issues. I didn’t move into a new apartment to clean someone else’s filth. It’s only fair when you pay full rent to move into an apartment that the apartment is fully cleaned and fully functional... so I requested money off. I sent an email stating the problems and asking for a credit but I still haven’t gotten an answer when I sent this in June... very unprofessional

I put in a work service request for a leaking toilet, and Corey came through and fixed it quickly. He explained what was going on, and what he needed to do to fix it.Damage was from wear and tear over the last five years living here. Great response time and great service.

I went 2 weeks without hot water with this company. They would not replace our water heater after daily calls that we did not have hot water. Also more than half of our security deposit was taken for ‘scratched floorboards and floors’.

Free street parking, utilities included, laundry on site, nice little yard. Walked to Duquesne every day. Great location 👍 would recommend to friends and family
