I would recommend Brakes PLUS to my family and friends.I felt they were honest and provide service at a fair price. I have some automotive knowledge so when I take in my car for service I have an idea of what to expect. While waiting for my jeep to be repaired I witnessed customers coming in and out. I was shocked at how many people were told there car concerns were not an issue and did not need repair. They also did not charge them to look at their car.It was refreshing to see an honest auto repair shop not trying to over sell or make up problems just to get business. They went out of their way to provide excellent customer service and offered assistance above and beyond what they had to.I would recommend the Brakes PLUS near Desert Ridge to family and friends anytime.

These guys are the absolute best! Been coming here for years for all maintenance and repairs. Dont even live close anymore but I make the drive just for the excellent service. Went to brakes plus because someone stole my catalytic converter. The guys were really nice and were quick to diagnose the problem with my car. They kept me up to date on progress of their work and stayed true to their word when it would be completed. Overall a solid experience from Tony and Zach.

Had a blown tire with two broken lug nuts. Discount sent me here before they could mount a new tire. Zach took care of it in short order. 15 minutes to get to it and find out what needed to be done. Took awhile to get the parts but he kept me updated and within 4 hours and that’s having to get parts from downtown, my car was rolling again. Love love love these guys.

They have great customer service but they severely overcharged me to replace the broken wheel for my ac controller, it cost $300. I know they overcharged because a few months later the ac button on the controller got pushed too far in and I went to a different shop, they installed a new wheel and button for just over $100 total. Idk about other services but I recommend looking at prices of other places to compare.

I was informed by my dealership that I needed a front end alignment. When I took it to this Brakes +, Russ informed me that my front end alignment was fine. I truly appreciate their ethics and honesty! Will return here in future for assisstance!

Was quoted for work that wasnt needed, just so they can make more money. SA tried to state issues I knew were bogus. I only needed 2 minor things that cost me a couple hundred bucks. They were quoting me over twice that...plus, none of it was the real issue. Meaning- even more money out of my pocket. I want honesty and integrity. Not scamming. Deplorable service throughout. If I could give negative stars, Id give them -5. Dont go here unless you like spending money you dont need to.

I have had great experiences with Brakes Plus in Colorado so decided to use they during my recent visit to Phoenix. I made an appointment and they completed a synthetic oil change and tire rotation in less than 45 minutes, all at an extremely fair price. The team at this location were even better than what I experience in Colorado, so they totally exceeded expectations. They have earned my complete trust and loyalty.

Very honest business who cares. I thought when I tried to find Brake Masters I have made an appointment to Brakes Plus. Im so glad I made that mistake. They looked at my brakes and adjusted them told me my brakes are in good shape. Honestly I loved that and my wallet love it too. Now I was told by their competitors that I would need a transmission fluid change but Zach and Rogers team told me they inspect my fluid all is good no need for a flush. This is now my place for car repairs and advice. Very clean and friendly place and Im very impressed with their customers service or 5 star service.

The first time I went to Brakes Plus was because my brakes had this terrible squeaking noise that the Infiniti dealership could not figure out. I took it there 2 different times and paid over $300 for nothing.I dropped my car off at Brakes Plus and within the hour they called to tell me what the problem was. I worked with Russ, who was absolutely amazing! I picked up my car and have not had an issue since!I decided since they did such a great job with my brakes, I might as well have them do my regular maintenance as well. I made an appointment online, took it there while I waited in the lobby. They were friendly, quick and efficient. Zach and team are awesome. If you’re looking for a small town mechanic you can trust in a big city, this is the place. They saved me money on parts, labor, and services which my dealership said had to be completed. Plus, my dealership missed a leak in plain sight which was critical to a service they even recommended. In short, these guys are professional, courteous, and explain everything which made me feel like part of the family. I’ll be back!

Had my wife stop in for a tire pressure check. She asked if thats something they could do and they questioned her why when it is a simple yes or no question. When she informed them she just wanted them checked since there was a slight vibration in the steering wheel, she was met with more questions instead of just having the tire pressures checked as requested. If you think youre too busy to do a basic free check, just say that.She mentioned that the check engine light and subsequent stability/Trac lights were on due to a catalytic converter code that has already been diagnosed by 2 other shops. They decided to go the scare tactic route to try and get her to fix it at brakes plus saying that there was absolutely no way it was just the catalytic converter and that she shouldnt drive the car and it should be fixed and not on the road, which is absolutely incorrect and if they knew anything about the way Toyota DTC systems work for catalytic converter codes specifically, they would know it sets 4 different lights when the P0420 code sets.Thank you for showing your true colors, Brakes Plus, now everyone can know you lie and scare customers, especially females, into getting repairs done that they likely dont need done instead of just fulfilling the simple request that the customer came in for. I thought shops didnt operate like that anymore, boy was I wrong. Its no surprise you are the only shop in the area thats not packed with work right now.

Weve had at least 4 repairs done at this Brakes Plus location. My wife was very happy with them and suggested I try them when my truck began having a problem. Very kind, professional and proactive people. They didnt gouge me. In fact Id say they were extremely generous with what they asked me to pay. They showed me what was wrong and made sure I understood it. They also were very willing to listen to what I had to say about my vehicle. They completely understand how to treat customers needing repairs. Cant say enough good about my experience. Thanks Gentleman.

Russ Stanfield and John Grizzard were the best; they trouble shot my issues and stayed on it until the problem was resolved. They provided expert technical work and were a pleasure to deal with the stress of unknown repairs and excalting cost scenarios. They were fair and true to their estimates. I really appreciated these guys, their shop felt more like a small independent busienss with personal care and human touch, than a corporate in and out big box.

Using my back up email to leave a second review in about 30 days time. Zach, Mike, Keith and the entire team went above and beyond. I have two more services needing competed out side of a complete system flush and when the time is right and it will be done here! Made an appt online a couple of weeks ago but when I arrived John told me the online appts dont matter. After reading the information about Brakes Plus I thought I would be able to just get it checked and leave according to the website, but John said that they dont know anything when referring to the website. Said I would have to leave the vehicle with him all day and when they can get to it, they would. I get being busy but it was super inconvenient.So thought I would give them another shot a couple of weeks later.. Called early in the am and spoke with Russ who was seemingly nice on the phone and said sure bring it right now and well take a look at it this morning. I actually arrived less than ten min later only again to be told by John that this was not true and that I would have to leave it all day again.. I told him I spoke to Russ and then he came back and said that is not what Russ told me.. lol Pretty sure I know what i was told.. I asked to speak with Russ and told him how disappointed I was with the service, and the fact John told me that I was told something different, as if I were making it up. (Pretty sure I remember what I was told less than ten minutes ago) Russ at that point said he could take a look and it would take about 40 to 50 min which is seemingly reasonable, but i was frustrated and leery at that point.. Too bad I did not receive the same service as many people have posted on this site..

Russ and the team were awesome. I went to brakes plus last Saturday and I hate going to auto shops. Right when I walked in everyone was so friendly and joking around. I set up an appointment online and spoke with Tony this morning to confirm my appointment.Tony and the team took the time to inspect my car for wear and took care to not break my lug nuts, but did identify some were stuck. They completed the service quickly and kept me updated of the status. Tony had great customer service by explaining all the assessment to me and answering all of my questions. He also went above and beyond by quoting future repairs that I will likely need for the suspension system.

My car needed a large repair. I brought my car in without any notice and they pulled it right into the garage and had it fixed in under 24 hours. They also threw a small discount my way which helped me a lot. Great customer service, great overall experience.

I have been taking my car to Brakes Plus on Tatum (north of Bell Rd) for service since they helped me with a dead battery and found I needed to replace the alternator.They have always been courteous and provided me with options, if repairs could be done in steps, to help reduce costs. They have earned my trust!

If i could give minus star i would. Today upon visiting in this location for service, guy name Russ was extremely rude. Speaking really loud in front of other customers really humiliating, so unprofessional. “You are asking me to tell you whats going on with your car without even checking on the car.” He replied, when i asked why some lights were on on my dashboard. He could simply reply, “we need to check on them first to let you know whats wrong with the car”. Then, he said he needs to keep the car for the day, and when i was trying to confirm it, he said, “Don’t you see that we are busy right now, look around here.” And the other worker name Zach also laughing. So condescending and once again extremely rude. I just simply left and very embarrased. So obvious they need to get more training on customer service, and how to be a nice human being period. Feeling so bad for the owner, he/she probably lost a lot of customer due to this kind of behavior. I rarely give bad reviews, but this time i felt really had to.

Well....Tony, Russ, and John have made a customer for life!I first went to Brakes Plus about 3 weeks ago to get my brakes done. I knew they were in bad shape and was expecting to spend the usual amount on getting the pads and rotors replaced/fixed.I suspected I also had some other, pretty major work that needed to be completed and boy was I right! Tony contacted me within a couple of hours after dropping my car off with a laundry list of things that needed to be done; all were vital to the safety of my vehicle.I told him to go ahead and take care of everything and he let me know the work would be completed THAT DAY! Sure enough, a few hours later I got the call that my car was ready. They offered me special financing (it was a LOT of work) for an extended period and I was so grateful for that!My car ran like a dream and I was able to stop on a dime if needed.That being said - fast forward three weeks to last Friday when I walked out of work to a dead battery. I work in Mesa and the shop is about 25 miles from where I was. I got a jump and got going, heading to Brakes Plus (since they do EVERYTHING) to get a new battery installed.Imagine my surprise when I am on the phone with them and my car starts freaking out on the freeway. As I am explaining what is going on (lights and sounds and revving and whatnot) John just calmly stated that it was probably the alternator and to have the car towed up to them. It was after hours so the tow truck driver just used the key drop box that is available.Well, that is exactly what it was and once they had the car they replaced the alternator and battery and serpentine belt, easy peasy. No fuss, no muss.There was an issue with my AC hose that I was supposed to be contacted about but never was - they were super slammed and just forgot. No problem, it happens. When I contacted Tony about it he said to just bring my car in and theyll take care of if and recharge my AC.Know what they did?? THE RIGHT THING!! There were no excuses issued, only an acknowledgement of something that was overlooked, an apology, and then it was fixed.They have been upfront and honest with the work that needs to be done, the cost, and the time frame in which they can get the work completed. I have not felt this confident about an auto shop in a very long time. I am recommending this location to everyone - even if they have to drive a little to get there.Thank you so much for all of your help and understanding, it gives me peace of mind knowing my car is in good hands.Keep it up guys, youre awesome!

This place provides a manufacturers experience with a small town feel and private owner care. Their estimate was accurate with no additional fees or finds and honored a coupon that was not presented before paying out. I will use them again and again.

Everyone here is always so warm and welcoming to me anytime I walk in or call. They always drop what they are doing to help me as quick as possible! I can always count on them. Took my suv in for a brake inspection for some squeaking. Decided to get my pads replaced with a rotor resurface. Told them I’d be back in 2 days. Dropped off car at 0800 and asked if it was possible to get it back at noon. They worked with me and I picked it up before noon. Russ and Zac are awesome! also found a coupon for a little discount. Bought a high mileage used car that needed some work, and Tony and store manager Russ helped me out. They were super friendly and took time to walk me around my car and show me what they saw and explain in “plain English” so I understood. Felt the price was fair for the amount of work performed. I just got back from taking my Wifes car in for an oil change. They also inspected the vehicle and found a couple maintenance issues that needed attention. I loved that they actually brought me out to look at and see the issues with my own eyes so that I knew exactly what they were talking about and new they werent giving me the runaround. I will be back soon to have them change the oil on my own car.

Had a very pleasant experience at brakes plus! Got there early on a Saturday right before the holiday and was immediately greeted by John who went right to helping me! He was courteous and upbeat and being that I’m in no way a morning person I found him to be refreshing to deal with so early ha ha. I called Brakes Plus, the person who I spoke to explained that I could head in and they would inspect my brakes ( which I just got done at another place 5 days prior ) When I walked in I was greeted by John, he took care of me and stated he will let me know what they find once their done doing the inspection. John pulled me into the bay where they had my vehicle and showed me exactly what was wrong and where the other brake place screwed up. I appreciate the time and effort that he put in. As well as the mechanic who was working on my vehicle!! I live in mesa and I WILL MAKE THE DRIVE HERE FOR ANYTHING THAT IS NEEDED. I highly recommend them!!!!!!! Everyone should use this shop. They do not just do brakes. Dean is the manager and diagnosed my car for free. Found out that the problem was related to a recall and helped me get a brand new engine for free from the dealership. He did all of this out of the kindness of his heart and made no money off of me. This is the second time I have gone there and in would never go anywhere else again. It is hard to find genuine, honesty like this anymore. Oh and, they are always friendly and in a good mood. Had brake issues another shop could not figure out, These guys did figure it out, my brakes are awesome. A second vehicle needed struts, coolant hoses and a belt, these guys knocked the work out in the same day for a fair price. I highly recommend them!

Great location!As soon as I walked in they informed me of the wait time, which is to be expected on weekends, but I was fine with it and they got me queued up. When I was almost done they told me what else was wrong with my car and gave me an estimate on what needed to be done and even explained to me what needed to be urgently repaired. I definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for an honest and quick auto repair!

My experience with brakes plus and more specifically the GM, Russ was disappointing. I just needed my front pads and rotors changed as I was leaving for California the next day. He first quoted me $200 per axle and he ended up calling us letting me know that it was going to be double the quote we agreed upon - $400. He asked me to stop by (somewhat of an inconvenience), and showed me that the rotors were scored, which I knew and simply just wanted my pads and rotors changed for the trip to California. Because he could not turn the rotors the price doubled? I ended up doing the work myself in 1.5 hours which was an inconvenience and saved myself $250. Typical shop taking advantage of customers. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Ive been here twice now, once for new brakes and most recently for swapping in a new alternator. Ive received excellent, fast service each time. They thoroughly explain what needs fixed, what is optional, and their prices are reasonable. I will be going back next time I need service. Thank you!

Ive gone to Brakes Plus on Tatum & a few times now. Its been easy to get an appointment and they are courteous, knowledgeable and quick. I feel they have fair prices and are honest. But my headlights went out???

John at the front desk is great! I show up early in the morning and they have coffee ready and are very kind. They do excellent work! Sometimes it takes a bit but I know its because they are checking it all out! Great team!

John was excellent from the moment I called. He was very thorough and gave me 4 different options for my brake service ranging from economy to premium choices! He was informative, he WAS NOT pushy, he allowed me to take time and review my options before committing. Overall a excellent experience and I would recommend John Grizzard and Brakes Plus to anyone.

If you need your car or truck serviced these guys are solid, which is rare in this business. They are fair in their pricing, use quality parts and do good work. I have been bringing my cars here for over 10 years and always get a fair shake. I highly recommend them. Russ runs a nice shop. Everyone is very service oriented.

Great service!! I went into Firestone off of cactus and Tatum and they quoted me over $1k for routers and tires on a fairly new car. It seemed odd so I picked my car up and immediately called brake plus on tatum and bell. They were able to get me right in and gave me an honest quote (half of what the other place said). They have great customer service and I really appreciate the honest quote. We will only be using them going forward for both of our cars.
