I have been working with JoEllen and staff for the last couple of years. I was in a bad accident last year and she was so kind and really put me at ease. Todd did an amazing job of following up with me to make sure everything was going as it should and assured me they were there for any questions or concerns. I have had JoEllen James for almost 10 years. She has been with me through my younger years and not so experience driving skills to my older years when others are the not so experienced. She treats you like a friend and family. She makes buying a house, getting into an accident, getting a new car, etc the easiest thing to get through. She is always on your side always ready and willing. I left state farm ONCE when I got married and went to my husbands and I counted the days until we switched back. I had been a State Farm customer for some 20+ years, getting my first policy from State Farm Terry Schick in Flagstaff AZ, he was excellent. Terry retired and my policy was given to Agent Steve Switala. Left numerous message for him to call as I live in Phx and he is in Flagstaff. He never bothered, in 5 plus years that he was the agent for my policy, could never catch in the office nor would he return a phone call even after leaving numerous messages. Horrible service. So I had the policy transferred to Jo Ellen James, whos office was close to my home and research for customer feedback. Never heard from her, so went to her office, an assistant was there and said Jo Ellen she was out of town, which I understand. Asked the assistant if I could make changes to my policy, she said not Jo Ellen the agent had to make changes. I asked the assistant to have Jo Ellen call me, I had to ask the assistant three times to have Agent Jo Ellen call me , she begrudgingly took my phone number. Not surprisingly no call ever came from the Agent Jo Ellen. I then called the office again, she still not in, left another message......waited for call it never came again. I called a 3rd time, assistant said Agent Jo Ellen is in.... but very busy, she will need to call me back...WOW. Finally she calls back, I relay my service concerns with her regarding my policy........Jo Ellen was very impersonal, gave me the impression she was way to busy to deal with my policy. I became so frustrated with her lack of service that I finally asked her to end my policy after paying on it for 20+ years. From my personal experience.... the Customer Service is awful from both the Company State Farm and from the agents I have mentioned above. Maybe its a company culture or that the State Farm is operating in the dark ages. From my experience....If you call the State Farm Company phone number, they send you to deal with the agents. If the Agents dont call you back, the company is non-responsive and its up to their Agents. I now have a new insurance company, funny thing is you can do everything I was requesting the State Farm agents to adjust on my policy, you can do it yourself with the new insurance company with an app from my cell phone in seconds. Im glad Im no longer a State Farm customer.
