These 193 reels cover our familys history from 1943 thru 1989 and are priceless.Phil and his team at Got Memories were careful with these ancient artifacts of history and were able to restore them to all their colorful glory so that we can enjoy them well into the 21st century and beyond.Got Memories is one of the only firms, that I know of, that digitizes each roll without splicing them onto larger reels. While this may increase the labor on their part, it preserves each 50 foot roll with their corresponding boxes that contain priceless details regarding dates and people contained therein. This, in turn, makes my job easier indexing these films so that I know who, when and what they entail.I highly recommend Phil and the good folks at Gotmemories.com! We were hesitant with the process at first after watching a few YouTube videos from other people that had their cassettes converted from one of the big box stores. Beyond my wildest expectations!I sent off 15 films with no idea what was on them. One film was wider than the others. To my amazement, when I got it back, if was my 77 year old sister learning how to walk in 1943. It was so clear and beautiful. Amazing quality VHS to digital conversion! Phil has a passion for his work and for customer service. If youre trying to decide where to take your precious VHS tapes to have converted to digital, look no further. When you walk into Phils shop you can see first hand all the high end equipment he uses for the conversions. I had full confidence that I found the best place to take my VHS tapes. Phil gives you his cell number and texts you with updates during the process. I’m really glad I trusted the amazing reviews for this place to get my VHS film digitized here. I brought down three tapes with footage from decades ago hoping to get them in digital form by Mother’s Day in 3 weeks and I got them back in about 4/5 days! I also wasn’t able to stop by the store to pick up my tapes so Phil helped me by mailing them to me instead. I cannot believe I finally have my 40 plus years of sound movies on DVD’s. I had taken all my movies to a company in my home area but I was disappointed when they told me they couldn’t record the sound from the movies. So I pulled the sound movies out and searched everywhere on Google for a company that could copy the audio with the video. I found GotMemories and watched their video showing all their recording equipment. I submitted a question online and got an immediate answer. We talked on the phone as well as texted several times and Phil guided me how to send these movies to his company in Arizona. I am in Ohio. I mailed them all to him via UPS on Monday, August 16, 2021. He received them on Friday, August 20. I now have them back today, August 31 and I am very pleased at the sound and the video. Im so happy I found Got Memories! I recently found a box with 17 reels of 8mm movies from 1968-1970. So I found these old 8mm reels which I found in our attic and I thought it would make a great gift to have these transferred onto USB for my parents for Christmas. Phil was able to digitize my old 8mm tapes that no one else could - I tried to digitize on a 8mm tape to digital recorder (Wolverine). Walmart and Costco would not even try to digitize the tapes - the tapes were returned with a note that they couldnt be played. The tapes were smelly (decaying), brittle and the tape was sticking together on the reels. Phil took his time with the tapes and was able to get almost every frame of the 8mm digitized. I submitted a request for a quote, based on what I thought I might have transferred. Phil did a great job converting my very old 8mm Kodachrome reels to digital. These old reels date back to 1955 and were stored away by my parents.My sister just recently made me aware of them. I was in touch with Phil at Got Memories last summer, and got a quote for transferring 5300 ft of my dad’s 8mm 1946-1964 home movies to MP4 video. Because of the large amount of film and the transfer costs, I decided to get a quote from Costco. It was a couple hundred dollars less, so I decided to have them transfer it. WHAT A MISTAKE!I got the videos back from Costco, looked at the first reel MP4, and the video was flickering, colors were poor, whites were overdriving and washing out faces, and focus was poor. All other MP4’s were poor quality also. I immediately took the flash drive back to Costco the next day and got a refund.I was so frustrated and disappointed, I set the movies aside for 3 months before I contacted Phil again. He honored an earlier quote I had gotten from him.The videos I received back from Got Memories are wonderful! The colors are enhanced, and focus is great! This is exactly what I wanted from old 8mm movies!Phil’s customer service is superb. He received my movies, and started working them immediately. If you have old videos you want to preserve on a CD go here! My mom had over 200 Super 8 film rolls from when we were very young and I was afraid to simply hand over these irreplaceable films. Got Memories saved me in a pinch! I was semi nervous to hand over my personal family memories into the ‘unknown’. YIKES! How could I be sure my irreplaceable videos would be cared for? But Got Memories eased all my worries! I dropped off my videos at the store and they were able to convert them just in time for my family reunion. They were very reasonably priced, professional, and included amazing customer service that is really hard to come by these days. This is one of the best kept secrets in town!Our story and our review of this company is probably pretty typical. We have a large family and a favorite family member passed away unexpectedly, and we had the inevitable task of cleaning out a house that nobody was going to use. Naturally, nobody wanted to really keep anything because it was all 30+ year old stuff that we didn’t want or need.We found a box of old film and VHS tapes that seemed to be family videos. Only problem was that none of us had any type of player that could actually watch any of these things.Half of us wanted to throw them away and the other half wanted to figure out a way to watch them. I ended up finding Got Memories and they made us a deal and they transferred everything to DVDs and USB drives. It wasn’t cheap but everybody in our family split the cost and they were so happy that they did.We all agreed that getting those things transferred to modern technology was the best thing we did for our family. There were some amazing and silly memories on there that would’ve been lost forever had we not found Got Memories. Thank you!!!

This is one of the most amazing things we could have done with all of our family movies that were on tapes. VHS, BETA, small camcorder tapes, etc. We had them all - even some of my parents old 8 mm films that have never been watched. Everything was transferred. It brings tears of joy to now be able to watch and share them with other family members. This company did an amazing job and I would highly recommend them. I cannot say enough about the customer service at Got Memories. I took in 19 different old videos on VHS, camcorder tapes etc. I had no idea what was on most of them. They were able to take the mess that I brought them and convert it to 19 movies on a thumb drive. The quality is much better than I expected (as many were quite old) and they were kind enough to demonstrate exactly what I needed to do with the videos to make individual/personal thumb drives for my family as Christmas gifts. I have found more videos and will be making a second trip to Got Memories after the holidays. They are awesome!!!
