Great staff and care. Front desk staff are always super helpful and polite and my dentist does a great job communicating what needs to be done. I hadn’t been to the dentist in a long time and was anxious and I felt right at ease here

Horrible place, it stinks . the guy taking x-ray was talking to himself, very mean. He did not know what he was doing. When taking x-ray he puts the machine that suppose to go behind the teeth down to my throat that i almost threw up like 5 times. I had previous experiences somewhere else that where way more better and professional. The materiel used is very old that you could see rust on them. The doctor walks in and doesnt say a word, looks in his computer and after a while all he could talk about were numbers, numbers , money , money thats all that matter for them. If you are planning on going there good luck .

Great place to get your dental care done. They have a very nice staff, nice payment options and a top notch dentist. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for great dental care this is a great place to go. I’ve been going there for over 5 years now.

I received both a text and email the week before 10/6 to confirm my dental cleaning apt. When I got to the office on 10/6 it was closed even tho on google it said it was open til 5pm on Tuesdays and I had both a text and email confirming my apt for 4:20 on 10/6. I kept calling the office to see what was going on I left 3 messages, never heard back. The next day I call the office and the girl answering the phone tells me “we don’t have a dentist or dental hygienist on Tuesday’s” I said “well how did you book me for an apt on a Tuesday then!!” She said “oh must of been before they quit” I said “ok well why wasn’t I notified and why was I sent a text and email to confirm my apt for 10/6” she said “oh we have no control over that it’s automated.”I said “why wasn’t I called by phone then by someone in your office” she said “we did call all our patients” I said “clearly not me or I would have never wasted my time and money by leaving work to go to a dentist that’s closed.” She then tells me “you can schedule a teeth cleaning for sometime in December if you like well def have a dentist then” This dental office is seriously so unprofessional and a joke. Also my voicemails save for years and NO ONE from this office ever left me a voicemail before the appointment explaining things.

It was a pleasure walking in and being immediately greeted by the receptionist Eddie, with a huge smile on his face. I was promptly attended to, given set expectations on a wait time and once I was taken to the back of the office, I was explained what would be happening during the appointment. It was honestly a great experience overall.

While the office appearance was neat, it was unsanitary. There was debris on the floor, the staff kept trying to get me to wear a pair of sun glasses that had clearly been shared between patients without even being cleaned. The person taking x-rays kept having to consult what I assumed was an instruction manual to take the x-rays and they ignored the fact the protective cover kept sliding down. While evaluating me they did not explain what they were doing and they were not gentle and were pressing the pic deep into my gum. The chairs in the waiting room were worn and there was painters tape still hanging above the entrance.

Definitely a pleasure to be a patient here at gentle dental. The service is great and the employees are super friendly. I would recommend this place to any and everyone.

Dr. Shin and staff are polite and professional. The office is bight and clean, the exam rooms are organized and they work together as a team. The staff assures that you are comfortable every step of the way. Most importantly they are very patient and will answer any questions and will make professional recommendations if need be. Dr. Shin is very gentle and this was my time ever having a pleasurable dental visit.The receptionist greets each patient with a smile whether they are checking in or checking out. They genuinely ask how was your visit and how do you feel before walking out the door. Even when the phones are ringing and faxes are coming in etc they are calm and displays a positive attitude. Not once ever rushing who they are servicing at that particular moment.

From the outside of the building and poor signage (typical in Philly), the kinda seedy-looking entrance, vestibule, waiting room, and rest room, it is not a very inviting space. These areas are run down, disorganized, even a bit dirty, and make me question my choice of dentist.But the dental exam areas seem top notch. Very modern and clean equipment, with up-to-date digital/electronic technology.The staff are wonderful. I am fearful of having dental work. However, I’m at the point where my physical health may be impacted by my dental health. I force myself to make and keep appointments, and try my best to calm my apprehension and anxiety. I have no qualms telling the staff about my use of calming apps with music. They are very understanding and work with me every step of the way.

My first visit there They was really nice Gentle and friendly helpful they made sure I was comfortable in the chair he wasn’t rough I usually don’t like going to dentist for the first time in long time I wud be more then happy to go back and I’m gonna make them my new dentist office and will also recommend my Adult children there ..I got out of there fast everything went smoothly There was no long waiting around to be seen ...

Great Service.Have been to new dentist for getting a new crown and it was down before agreed on date.Doctor was very knowledgeable and thorough with her treatment.I was gracefully accommodated for temporary crown for second time when I lost it due to my negligence.Will highly recommend and would definitely go back for my all teeth needs.

They are super caring and concerned for my pain. Explained everything that was going to happen and explained what was going on. They worked with me and were patient with me. I really felt cared about and well taken care of. They are very professional and everything was done in a super timely manner! Wonderful service!!!

Not real dentist. They tell you whats wrong and charge u for it. You will need to still go to a real dentist for your work. Just skip this place and go to a real dentist who can actually do work on your mouth. If u need a good lecture with no results then I would try this place out

I visited Gentle Dental to discuss my dental issues, as a possible new patient. Dr. Shin discussed possible options, a root canal, and I was to notify him of my decision after seeing a periodontist, the next week. However, before that appointment, my realized my jaw was swollen and I called Gentle Dental, made an appointment to extract the infected tooth as soon as the swelling went down. He prescribed antibiotics for me, the swelling went down in 3 days, and I went in for the extraction. I was in and out of the office in 30 minutes, no pain, some instructions to follow, and I went on with my day. Two thumbs up, and another great dental experience. I found this to be a professional and caring office. Thank you to Dr. Shin and his great staff.

I dont know what these other reviews are referring too because gentle dental on oregon ave is the best dentist Ive been to in all 29 years of my life. For starters, I have terrible teeth so clearly Im not a big fan of the dentist but everyone at gentle dental is so nice and they make your visit practically painless. They dont hit you with any surprises and keep you informed of whats going on the entire visit. The staff are all very friendly from start to end. The only possible negative thing I can think of is the waiting time, even with an appointment but when your going somewhere affordable with a high quality team of professionals, you should expect it to be busy. I would absolutely recommend this office.

This place is horrible. The dentist is moderately nice, but the other people working there -- especially the receptionists, are so extremely mean. They treat you with zero respect. I would highly advise staying away from this office -- if only based on the reactions youll get at the front desk. Its just worth it.

Please avoid. the administration is poor to the infinite degree. I kept on calling them for 2 weeks, voicemail full, no one answers. at last when I received the X rays they were unreadable. the nurse doing the X rays lacked empathy. the doctor was okay but not enough to make me write a positive review

Usually hate going to the dentist. My old dentist use to tell me to fight through the pain and other things when I had to get procedures done so I ended up gaining a distrust in dentist but my dentist is the complete opposite. He waited for me to relax myself when it was time to get the needle or stopped the procedure if I felt pain or panic. I have an unexpected wonderful experience here.

Dr. Singh is great. Very nice and gentle with me during my procedures. The whole staff is very nice.

The dental assistant DeQuan Henshew was the most compassionate, gentle & caring person. My whole body was shaking and he made me breath and just made me feel okay and held my hand like a baby. I would go back and I’m scared to death just knowing he would be there to comfort me. Thanks DeQuan I really appreciated your kindness.

CON: Making an appointment is a nightmare. Can never get receptionist on phone and have to keep calling. When I made appointments, they also lost track of my appointment and then scheduled me for the wrong procedure. As they were prepping me for a root canal, I had to tell them that was not why I was there. Being scheduled for the wrong reason happened 2x.Thus, the front office staff is useless and seem bottom of the barrel as far as administrative help goes. Not friendly, they dont seem knowledgable, and both a little distracted with thier own life or scatterbrained. Like their going through motions but dont hear or see you.Also, bad is one of the hygentists or dental assistants. She was out to lunch so the dentist had to clean my teeth. The one dental assistant with dreads seems a lot more with it than the other people working there and just more friendly.Another con is... other patients in the waiting room are a little rough looking. Im just being honest if you want to know exactly what the office is like.The Pros: DR. SHIN wonderful to the point I cant imagine him staying there much longer. I never saw other dentists, but Id recommend him for sure.Prices are also adorable. After shopping around, the rates are pretty discounted.TVs are in each exam room so while youre waiting you can watch or listen.Office is newly renovated and fairly clean which is a plus.Overall, management should encourage staff to be present, more friendly and warm to patients.

Had a consultation with dentist on 7/5 to have work done. An approval letter was supposed to be sent out that day and the office was supposed to contact me in two weeks for an appointment to start my work. Two weeks went by and I didnt hear from them so I called them. I was told that they havent heard from my insurance company so I called my insurance company. They never received anything from the dentist office. I called dentist office back and they claimed that they sent it and was probably overlooked by my insurance company. Lie number 1. They said they will submit again by email which they were not supposed to do. Lie number 2. They said call back in a week. I called back again in a week and was told my insurance company denied my work. So I call my insurance company again to find out why.. I was told that the forms sent by the office the second time was incomeplete!!! Again called dentist office and was lied to for a third time saying that my insurance company does not cover what I needed done. My insurance most definitely does cover what I need done. The insurance representative assured me of this. Lieing incompetent staff.

The worst experience ever! If you want to risk having problems with your credit then by all means go there. Our insurance has dealt with them multiple times (blue cross blue shield) stating we do not owe money, yet they keep giving us and them the round and round. Not to mention if you try to go or call during business hours they are probably not there. Very sketchy. We went last October and have been dealing with them since! Horrible and horrible service there. Dentist is rude and mean. The only nice and good person there is the dental assistant. Funniest thing is just got a message from them today that stating that our scheduled appointment that we scheduled back in October for this Friday will not work because they have no one there on Friday. I just laughed. Of course we wont be going back any ways but it just shows how incompetent they are. The cleaning was ok, but not great as well. Dont go if you dont want months of headaches, poor service, and poor business conduct.

They was very rude at the front desk and treated me like I interrupted their lunch break. Came in for a emergency and they ask me what medical I had which was personal choice and they turned me away.

Ive been going to Gental Dental for some time now, i feel comfortable and i trust the oral hygiene tips that I recieve. The staff Is friendly knowledgeable and passionate about the levep of care they provide. Great Dental team and very convenient location

It was grest!! The receptionist signed me up for Care Ctedit and i was able to get root canal. I was n pain whem i got there & i was pain free when i left. Thanks i will return!!

I wish I had the ability to give non existent stars. This place has traumatized me greatly. I already didnt like the dentist before but now its another level of fear. I have discovered through this place that has a name that I would say is false advertising. There is nothing gentle about the dental service provided here. Novocaine is something that doesnt work on me. I felt every pick and drill they did on me. They dont offer to put you to sleep at all and no alternative but to suck it up and get through procedures.I had about 8 shots and still felt everything. I was in pain during and after. Missed work. I had a tech literally take my breath away by her not paying attention to suction tool placement and had it in middle of my throat. I took tool away from her and did suction myself and informed them I wanted her out of my room. I reported her to the office manager. Most recently a few fillings that were still kind of new fell out. Went in to get them fixed. Something went wrong and I ended up in pain worse than my car accident. Missed 3 days of work, couldnt eat and barely drink. I felt like I was dying sitting in the er not once but twice. Earaches, nausea, eye pain and jaw pain. On top of that I was experiencing migraines really bad.I found it very hard to deal with the amount of pain. The hospital informed me I somehow developed an infection and put me on antibiotics for 10 days. Meanwhile I dragged myself to work in severe pain because I dont have the luxury of being sick and not working. I have never in my life had to have 2 pain shots, nausea meds and vicodin let alone an infection from dental work being done. I lost wages and felt like was going to be my life. Poor dental work can result in heart issues and worse death. This office offers no after hours on call service. They have option listed in phone menu but its not actually active. This is how o ended up at er twice. If you have anything happen on a weekend youre just sol. Even if its not the weekend youre sol with this place.I found out the dentist caused nerve damage to a tooth thats giving me problems still and its been 2 weeks. I cant eat on left side of mouth or have anything cold. I visited a new office that informed me with the dentist damaging nerve I now require a root canal. Im happy I found a new dentist. This one was busy trying to send me to a sister office to get a kick back from me paying them $140 just to SEE IF I NEED A ROOT CANAL. Yes see as in examine and not even give the procedure. I dont know how Gentle Dental is still in business but they need to change their name. They dont return phone calls or follow up with patients. The emojis I want to use might get censored but Im sure you can guess what they are.

About ten years ago a very friendly atmosphere when they were on passyunk ave and moved to broad and oregon the same staff and dentist were there but the same staff all have left now they have all new staff and been changing staff there for the last 8 years and its a louzy place they are all unfriendly and the dentist dont make you comfortable she kept saying negative things to me i wanted to punch her but couldnt go there instead i got smart with her louzy louzy louzy place wouldnt take my bird there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I could give this less than 1 star I would. This place is horrible. The dentist was beyond rude and unprofessional. He yelled at my daughter who was having dental work on him because she relayed to me something he said to her that was wildly inappropriate but then refused to speak to me when confronted with it. They refused to refund me when they screwed up with my insurance and over charged me for services.

I have nice people that work in office no problems now thats my dentist office the past dentist should not never been their she broke my tooth be in pain for months now the office is yaking of it
