My car started making strange sounds when backing up and steering. They said it just needed more steering fluid. Took care of that in a timely fashion and only charged me about $6. This mechanic shop has always been honest, up front, straight forward, and charges fairly. I had been going to them for 14 years for all of my regular maintenance and repairs before I moved to HI recently - not being able to take my car there any more is one of the saddest things for me honestly. They have always been so kind and honest and taken such great care of my car all these years! And my old car is still running great because of it! Thank you so much again Roys Auto! You give mechanics a good name! God bless!
First off, I was 30 minutes late to my appointment and they still managed to fit me in. I dealt with Roy and he was personable and spent some time explaining the nuances of my recently purchased Volvo S60. I told him to fix whatever needed to be fixed so he could have charged me whatever and I wouldnt have been the wiser. I even told him that the battery needed to be changed but he explained that it just needed to be programmed. My car was ready in under an hour and all the issues that I had presented were all resolved (except for needing a software update which they are unable to do). The bill was several hundred dollars less than I had anticipated and that was directly due to Roys honesty.Overall I was EXTREMELY satisfied with my experience at Roys Auto. I dont know about their knowledge of other types of vehicles but I would DEFINITELY recommend them to anyone needing service on their Volvo.
Roy & his staff were very friendly and easy to talk with! They did my alignment in a timely manner and said there was nothing else wrong with it, since a shop down the street try to scam me out of money stating there was an issue. I can say I highly recommend Roy’s and will be going to them in the future. Thank you!!
100% recommend! I’ve been going to Roy’s for years and I definitely credit him and his staff for keeping my old car going for over 200,000 miles. Everyone here is highly professional and their work is honest and trustworthy. If there ever is a problem (which has been rare in my experience) it is handled professionally and fairly. I live in Salt Lake, but still make the effort to get down here because it is definitely worth it to me. I think Roy is not only a skilled mechanic, but provides excellent care to the people and cars that come through. I will always be grateful for Roy and his team!
We have been taking our cars to Roy’s for a couple of years now and have come to trust them as our mechanic. They always do too quality work and are honest with the work done and the associated cost. I would recommend Roy’s to family and friends without hesitation.
They are professional, honest and know their stuff. I have been using them for a while now and would definitely recommend them. Great business
I have been taking my cars to Roy since 2009. He is honest and kind and a one of a kind mechanic. I recommend him to all my family and friends.
Roys auto is the best service i have been to in awhile. They are honest, and also very fair prices.
I have used Roys for all my volvo repairs. Always done in a timely manner. Does a good job. Price is always fair and they are good about letting me know what the price will be prior to the repair. I have been taking my car there for about 13 years.
Weve taken our Volvo to Roys for about 5 years after being referred to him by a friend. I trust Roy and his team. Well soon buy our 3rd Volvo and knowing that we have Roy for any repair needs makes easier to buy a Volvo. His shop is about a 30 minute drive for me, but its worth it.
Roy is fantastic with his alignment work. I brought my 1972 Plymouth Duster here for a custom alignment. I was referred here by another shop that couldn’t do alignments on older vehicles. Would recommend these guys to anyone.
These guys are awesome! We have a 17 year old Volvo that needs a lot of work and I have been very pleased with the work they did. They are honest and Roy definitely stands behind his work. Im going to keep using these guys.
I won’t use any other shop besides Roy’s Auto, Roy cares about each and every car that passes through the garage doors and goes out of his way to make sure things are done correct, and that the customers are taken care of. Alongside all that, he stands behind his work, and will do what it takes to rectify any mistakes, after all, we’re all human.
This shop came highly recommend so I tried them. Have been taking my family cars there since. They are knowledgeable and honest about their prices and the work they do for us.
The guys ay Roys are always amazing and fast! As a dealer, time us always of the essence, so they take care of me quickly and at a good price. The work is top notch. I will always continue to use them!
Roy took me in as a walk-in for a front end alignment on my 4x4. My vehicle requires shims which makes it more technical than other models. The alignment is perfect! I have never driven a vehicle that has so perfect alignment. Roy knows what he is doing and his crew is very experienced. He takes great pride in quality of work as a small business owner. I wouldnt go any where else. The quality of work and technical expertise at Roys is second to none and their customer service is perfect! Thanks Roy!
Roy is great to work with! If you own a Volvo in Utah county- take it there!
Very honest and quality work. If my sweet grandmother asked me where she could take her car for service this would be the place because I trust them. Great job.
My Volvo Cross Country was stolen and returned. Prior to the theft I had had a new transmission installed as well as 7k in other repairs done. Once a car is stolen somehow it is violated. Parting the car out to recover what I could was my best option and Roys Auto Service stepped in and became a huge part in helping me recover what I could. Its no coincidence that Utah County Volvo enthusiasts trust Roy with their cars. This shops combined experience, knowledge and dependability surpass that of the dealer. Their integrity and honesty sets this shop apart from the others. This review is long overdue but well deserved! Many Thanks Roy!
I suppose Im like all other Volvo users of Utah County—eventually we all find our way to Roy and his team.I have two Volvos: an old 1997 850T wagon and a newer 2006 S40. I found Roy a few years ago when the battery in my 850T wagon died. I gave it a jump, the car ran, and then died again. I repeated this a few times before realizing that it was having a battery issue (I know, Im not very quick) so I took it in to a local mechanic whom Ive gone to for a while but who is not a specialized Volvo person. My local mechanic kept the car for week. He determined there was an electrical short somewhere in the car but he couldnt locate the source of the battery problem, and so he eventually recommended I take the car to the Volvo dealer in Salt Lake. Was I annoyed? Yes. I made an appointment, drove to Salt Lake City to give it to the experts. The experts at the dealership also held on to the car for a week before calling me up to inform me that they too couldnt find the electrical short. All they gave me was: Sorry, probably best to get rid of the car. I was extremely frustrated at this point, I mean—these were the dealers mechanics!Around this time, a friend recommended Roy. I made an appointment and took it in. Roy found the electrical short in under half an hour! Does he know his way around a Volvo? Yes. Do I always take my Volvo to him? For anything bigger than an oil change—yes! If I lived closer to his shop, Id take it to him for the oil change every time too.Roy and his staff are lifesavers and I trust them fully! So grateful to have found him.If you have a Volvo and live in Utah County, Roys Auto is your best option! If you live in SLC and have a Volvo, Id think twice about taking it to the dealer. Your best bet is probably taking it to Roy in Orem.
My wifes car wouldnt start and the problem was quickly diagnosed as a faulty fuel pump which was quickly replaced and we soon had the little beast back on the road again.
Roy and his team are definitely top notch. They are very knowledgeable especially with older Volvos like mine. They were able to bring a 1971 Volvo which was not running to a good running state. I give them the highest recommendation.
Roys always does a great job fixing my car! They are priced very well and do a great job in a reasonable timeframe! Every time Ive needed a repair they have had it done by the end of the day! They also are very sweet and help me when I have questions. I also love them because they and its hard to find places that work on volvos without charging a bunch for volvo specific materials. Honest work at a great price!!!!
Great service, great people.
I have my 2019 tundra at this shop today for a alignment/thrust angle check and adjustment with tire rotation. This shop was highly suggested by other tundra owners with lifts and aftermarket steering components. writing this review before i personally see for myself how detailed and thorough this shop is due to from what i have heard from other people i know. i know my truck is in the right hands to get the job done with all the good reviews and recommendations i have viewed/heard.
Worth the drive from Salt Lake City! They know their Volvos and are timely!
I was told my alternator was bad at a auto supply store. Roys ...looked at it and said it was good. They went through my car and helped me with maintenance!!
They are a very professional shop the work that I had done there was the upmost best I would rate this place is the best place to go to have work done on your vehicle in Utah County!! I’ve owned my own business now retired I have someone I can trust and know that the any work I need done on my vehicle will be done professionally correct and on time! Roy is a honest, fantastic mechanic, friendly and excellent with customer relations and communication! His service writer Kayden is so professional, knowledgeable, friendly and excellent keeping you informed on your vehicle! On time fair value and excellent work! Highly highly recommend them😊👍!
We have taken both of our vehicles to Roys several times and are always pleased with their work!
Very satisfied with the time frame he got it down for I was passing through n broke down n everyone else in town said well cant help you were out 7 days already n that told to me 5 different repair shops
Roy always takes special care when servicing my 1969 Volvo. His work is exceptional
Roy keeps my 2012 Volvo S60 in excellent running condition. He is sensitive to cost and very fair, having saved me considerable expense several times in my two and a half years of his service. He communicates well regarding issues, cost, and repair time involved. His technical knowledge of my Volvo is very impressive. Recently, I heard a noise from the engine sounding like a loose belt, so I drove immediately to Roys. Roy pulled the oil stick and the noise went away. He then explained what the repair would involve and how my quick response had saved me $1000 in possible additional damage to the engine. My confidence in Roy and my appreciation of his honesty and friendship continue to grow. I am fortunate to have him. I am enjoying my Volvo.
Friendly folks and professional shop. :)
Roy did a full checkup and evaluation of my Volvo S60 initially, and then at maintenance intervals.. He repaired my steering wheel when metal inserts cut my hands.. He restored the side mirror when it was knocked off.. He recently replaced my left-front headlight. My S60 is reliable and fun to drive, and Roy is keeping it in good operating condition. He is very knowledgeable, efficient, flexible, and helpful. I am fortunate to have found him.
Roy is easy to work with and helpfully explained any issues with the car, why they would be important, and the timing/urgency for getting them fixed. I made an appointment and he easily stuck to the estimated time he gave me for service so I could get back to work on time. I am also super impressed with the email reminders about when next service is needed; SO nice to have. Thank you Roy!
Bought new tires here, the service a price was excellent! The service was fast, I didnt have to wait forever. I also loved the waiting room with a very nice salt water aquarium, and the restrooms were spotless. Very nice experience.
This is one of the worst auto service businesses I have delt with. They were contracted by Lindon Auto Collision to fix some electrical issues with my truck. They fixed one problem but caused three others. Once I found out they had messed up my electrical, I brought my truck directly to them and they denied all accountability. While fixing an issue with my cluster, they disconnected the wipers and blinkers. They opened up my dash and “looked” and they removed my wiper arms to “decide” the issue. I refused to pay them more money to fix the “new” problems, so they buttoned everything up. When they put the wiper arms back on, they put them backwards and slammed the hood down on the blades and arms bending them and chipping my brand new paint job. I called them about the issue they created and they refused to fix anything. Luckily, Lindon Auto was cool enough to fix the paint but I had to buy brand new arms and wipers, and I had to hire a professional electrician who proved to me that Roy’s electrician was too rough and disconnected several wires. What a sham and shame!! Stay away from Roy’s!
Quality work
The only shop I trust with my Volvos. They have always been very fairly priced and have done excellent work. They have even been very accommodating when I needed a big repair done before leaving town. They were honest with me and recommended a repair rather than a replacement, even though it would have made them more money. They have a small business feel, are very friendly and honest but yet have extensive knowledge. So glad they are in Utah Valley!
Received very personable service with a smile! Could sense the very high integrity level right from when I walked in to when I left the shop. The attention to detail and knowledge was impressive.
So I am not usually one to trust reviews very much, because I always worry that they are just paid people or family members of the company that own them, especially when there are all 5 stars. Well, Im for sure not paid, and I only just met Roy this last week when I brought my car in, but now I get why they have 5 stars. This place is great! My Volvo had some issues that I needed fixed and they were happy to get me in as soon as possible. They fixed it up very quickly and I really feel like it was some quality service. I found out that Roy used to work for the Volvo dealer as a mechanic and so he really knows his stuff, and he has a lot of certificates from Volvo validating his skill. The price was 100% reasonable, and they went over the top to get things fixed. The best part about this place though, is how awesome these guys that work here are. Roy is super nice and a real down to earth guy, I completely trusted him, and his mechanic that I met also was a really cool nice guy. I loved the way I was treated. It was not unique to me, multiple customers came in and spoke with them in the time I was there, and they were very friendly to them too. They are great and I recommend them go everyone! I guess they dont only work on volvos, so you can take in the rest of your vehicles too. Anyways, I am glad I finally found my go to mechanic instead of always jumping around from garage to garage. Roys got a new customer for life.
Roy and his crew do a fantastic job at maintaining and repairing my vehicles. I have been taking my cars to Roy’s Auto for 10 years now and have always been amazed at their stellar service. Roy’s Auto delivers great service at reasonable prices.
I highly recommend Roy’s Auto. I’ve been coming to them for years, and Roy and Cody always do an amazing job. They are honest, upfront, and have very competitive pricing. I have recommended them to several family members who all have had great experiences with them, too.
Got my C70 perfectly fixed! Roy knows Volvo really well!
Very helpful and fit me in very quickly. Roy and his staff are very knowledgeable about Volvos. And the diagnosis fee was $100 less than the dealer. Plus I got a free 30 point inspection with lots of helpful information.
Great place to get your car serviced!!! Very friendly and knowledgeable. The best part is they used quality parts and fix it right - the first time. Even the Safety and Emissions place that I went to commented on how great the work was that Roys did on my Trailblazer. Thank you Roy!!!
Consistently excellent customer service, consistently excellent work.If you have a Saab, take it to Roys. He does exponentially better work than the saab shop I used to go to! My car is better maintained and my wallet is fuller.
From VA visiting for few days. Needed an alignment and googled the service. They do deserve the five stars review. Great work and wonderful people.
Ive been to Roys a few times. I trust him as a personal mechanic. He takes great care of his customers. The staff is also very kind. Also has cool fish in the fish tank. Thanks for everything
Roy is the Volvo Expert! Quick, dependable, and honest! Hes done all of the maintenance on our Volvos both at the dealer and now at has his own shop. He knows European cars inside and out, especially Volvos, which means he can quickly diagnose whatever needs attention and in most cases before it becomes a major headache and expense. We have saved thousands of dollars using his expert services to keep our Volvos in peak running condition and avoid costly headaches and repeat trips for repairs. If you have a Volvo problem and you want it fixed, Roy is the guy your looking for!!! If you have a Volvo in great condition and you want to keep it meticulously maintained, Roy is the guy your looking for!!! They are the best!
Roy is exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful with cars. I was looking to buy a used car from a nearby dealer, and he helped me to make a wise pick. Thanks Roy!
Very pleased with the service I received at Roys. I am a first time customer and was very pleased with their service, timeliness, and professionalism. They were very helpful in getting exactly what I wanted (though it took some effort) and were good in working with my insurance company. If I should need help again I will certainly give my business to then.
Used Roy to perform a pre-purchase inspection of an Audi A6. Roy did a great job. He was thorough and identified all the positives and negatives of the used car. Thanks Roy!
We just got our 2006 Volvo S40 T5 FWD (105,600 miles) back from Roy. I have taken my Volvo to the dealership in SLC a number of times and although they are nice I have never felt as comfortable working with them as I did with Roy. He diagnosed my problem, had a quote on the cost and how long it would take him to do the work very quickly. The best part was it cost what he said it would cost, and he was done when he said he was done!! Roy and his staff were great to work with. We even ran a little late picking it up and the front office girl stayed late just because she knew we need the car tonight.
In the past few months I have been to Roys Auto a couple of times - the service is second to none. Knowledgeable, fair, and quick turn around time. I will continue to have my cars serviced there and would recommend them to anyone.
Nice guy. Terrible parking in a clustered area. The work didnt take long to fix and I wasnt upsold on several issues. The work for now seems to be fine. When it comes to convenience and customer service is where i give a lower review. I never got called at the completion of the diagnostic work and then i never got called when the actual work was finished. I just showed up when i assumed it was almost finised. Luckily i showed up before the closed otherwise i probably would have left my car overnight again with no idea that the work was finished. They really need to call when the work is complete. Also I got a brand new radiator just to go home to find out they didnt add enough coolant to a new radiator. Almost as if they wanted to ruin it from the start to sell another brand new radiator. 3 out of 5 stars generously
I went to Roys after over a month of troubleshooting my 2005 Volvo V50s stalling problem. Roy troubleshot the problem, identified it was covered under Volvo extended warranty and applied a quick-fix to keep the car running to the dealership. He could have easily not told me about the warranty, charged me the $500 for the part plus labor but instead let me take the car to have it covered under Volvo! I was more than happy to pay him for his time and had him do some additional maintenance. He saved me hundreds of dollars and was very pleasant to work with.I have been burned with bad mechanics in the past and stay away as much as possible. My dealings with Roy have re-assured me that up-front, honest and skilled mechanics still exist. I would recommend Roy to anyone that needs a trusted, specialized mechanic for your Volvo.
Volvos are not cheap to maintain, so having a shop like Roys Auto to take your car to is worth its weight in gold! No upselling, just straight talk about what is needed. My cars are my babys and I trust Roy to get it done and take excellent care while doing it! A+
Each time Ive brought my car in to Roys has been a great experience. He is a knowledgeable mechanic and trustwothy. And though I know nothing about cars, he is patient with my lay explanations of what is going on with my Volvo. Ill keep coming back.
Roy’s shop is amazing I took my truck in there because it had gotten stolen had some mechanical damage Roy was not only able to fix my truck but his attention to detail is wonderful my truck runs Like new! Thank you so much for your time and Melannie his receptionist is so friendly and professional I would recommend Roys to anyone!
Volvo expertise you can rely onOn our cross country drive in our 2007 XC90 we noticed the a/c fan wasnt pumping out cold air as we were driving south from Idaho to Provo UT. We wanted to take our car to a reputable Volvo shop & our nephew recommended Roys Auto Service. We were there @ 8:00 am on Monday morning. Roy told us he would give it priority as we were on our way to Arizona & needed the A/C to be functioning @ 100%. Within 3 hrs we received a phone call telling us the car was ready to go. He said the blower motor might be beginning to fail but he was reluctant to replace it since all tests showed everything was functioning. He saved us over $1500.00 and charged a nominal fee for evaluating the car. We continued on our way through the desert and made it to our destination with no issues. My husband & I both remarked that we wish we lived closer to Roys Auto Service. Were positive we could have saved thousands of dollars over the years. He is honest, reputable and considerate of his customers.Vehicle: Volvo XC90Service Date: 07/11/2016Review Created: 07/21/2016 08:55 PM
Walked in for the first time and worked with a man named Ray, I have never met such a rude human being in my life. Extremely unprofessional to work with! if you don’t want to have a bad day, just simply stay away. I don’t understand how the owner of this business could of hired such a rude person when all I did was walk in to pay for my alignment. Zero customer service. (Verbally aggressive)
Roy and his staff always makes you feel right at home with their friendly attitude.
Old school dishonest. Told me I needed all new rotors and pads. I couldn’t afford it so I ordered the parts and went to do it myself. When I pulled the old off the old I was shocked to see there was tons of pad and rotor left. All I really needed was front pads. I’ve included a pic of the old pads that they said were “almost metal on metal”
Honest, reliable and incredibly knowledgeable! Greatest techs and shop around.
Went in looking to get my front springs compressed so I could reassemble the front suspension. He tried for about 10 minutes then simply told me he couldnt do it. Still charged me $50 for nothing
Roy got me in the same day I called, quick and friendly service, job well done!!
It was a Friday morning, and my check engine light had come on the night before. We were leaving on a road trip on Saturday. I called Roy, and told him the situation. He was swamped that day, but fit me in anyway, and fixed the problem and got us on the road!I have gone to Roys Volvo for about 10 years, and have always received great service!
Roys was recommended to me by a friend that also has Volvos. Roys was able to diagnose my problem and get it fixed right away. Should have went to them first because it took a week from another mechanics shop and the problem was unable to be fixed. I recommend Roys to anyone.
Business to business. Great customer service and auto service . Highly recommend
I dont really leave reviews often, but it is the least I can do for Roy and his crew of awesome mechanics. They have earned my respect and kept it over the years, which is something of a rarity in todays world of fly-by-night businesses.Ive used Roys for everything on my Volvo S40 since I bought it used in 2008. Before finding his shop (by using Google) I did not know Roy or any of his staff in any way. But since then, I consider him my go to mechanic that I consider a friend. His pricing has always been much better than the dealer and the service has always been excellent.Ive had Roy or one of his staff help with things ranging from minor repairs all the way up to helping get my car rebuilt after it was totaled in an accident and most airbags deployed. Roy really knows his stuff, and Ive always trusted his opinion on whether a repair was needed or not. In contrast, the few times I had to go to the dealer (in Utah and Washington state) I felt like I was being hustled and overpaying for the service. Roy doesnt try to nickel and dime, and even on busy days when I show up out of nowhere with no warning and ask if they could pull the codes off my car really quickly, they always make the time to help. Try doing that at the dealership and youll be laughed at and told their next appointment is 2 weeks away.Roy is great with vehicles that arent Volvo, too. My wifes craptastic manual Hyundai Elantra had some issues shifting and even after replacing the Clutch and Flywheel it had some more issues, so Roy offered to do the transmission replacement for a better price than anyone else could have even dreamed of offering, with a highly discounted rate on the labor. If you want to be treated as an equal -even though his expertise is lightyears ahead of mine and most likely yours- then give this shop a chance to earn your business. Youll be glad you did. And your wallet will like you more, too.
I have been taking my 04XC70 to Roys Auto in Orem ever since he opened his own shop after having worked at the Volvo Dealer in SLC as a Master Tech.Roy and Cody have been taken care of all my repairs and services that my Volvo has needed, with integrity, honesty and knowledge to keep it running in perfect condition so I can safely us it as a daily driver and occasional vacation tripsI have full confidance that my Volvo is in good hands. Glad to find honest and skilled Volvo techs, and may I add very friendly once you get to know them. They come highly recommended, have referred some friends and so far they are still my friendPS. they do work on all makes, not just Volvosthey do like treats once in a while, just a plug.
Very fast and fixed my problem instantly, they were all very positive and fun to work with. I am going to be coming back for all my car issues.
Each visit quick, pleasant, professional. Ill keep coming!
I have trusted Roys auto with my repair needs for almost a decade now.
