Awhile ago, you could drive up and energetic folks would hop to serve and take care of pulling out all your unwanted household chemicals. It only sort of stunk because of their silly hours. Today, I drove up to the building and was surprised nobody was in line. I was there during the posted hours and as I drove up, I saw ‘appointments only’ sign. Surely this city service couldn’t limit the removal of household chemicals from the environment to an appointment only basis? So I go up and the guy with the clipboard asks for my name. They DO need an appointment! JFC! So he says the next appointment is in 30 minutes (1100), so I pull around to call and by the time they answer, the next appointment is 1115. So I’m here waiting… good thing they raised my property taxes! It honestly feels like some Soviet planners came up with this. Oh, and if you want to check out the free paints-each customer is limited to 10 minutes and no reentry is allowed, the lady buzzed me in and wearily reminded me of the rules. And I think she called me “comrade”! At any rate, it’s the dmv of household chemicals.

Very professional and very fast service. I called and made an appointment on a Saturday and they got me right in. Boom, no more unwanted paint sitting around. So wonderful! Thank you so much for your much needed service and support.

What a wonderful service for Douglas and Sarpy county residents looking to responsibly dispose of environmentally harmful products. If you work around their 3-day schedule, you’ll find excellent folk happy to rid you of your unwanted materials, all while taking care of our home planet. Can’t thank these guys enough.

If you live in Douglas or Sarpy county, this is a great resource to dispose of unwanted or no longer needed household chemicals, cleaners, paints, motor oil, etc. You dont even have to get out of your vehicle. The staff has always been professional and courteous when Ive dropped off items. Just check their hours before you go because they arent open every day. You dont need an appointment during the week, but you will need an appointment for Saturday visits. You can call or check their website for hours and accepted items. Thank you Under the Sink!

Really awesome. Just took 60 seconds for three guys to come out and take 4 big buckets of oil. I can fry more chicken now.

Pull in. Drop off. Super simple! They even go through it and let you know if you can dispose of it properly at your residence.

If youre not from Douglas or Sarpy County, they straight up deny you service. You would think with common sense and decency they would at least charge your a small fee. Taking in chemicals and helping the environment at least. Nope, no service provided. All because you had nothing to do with the decision making of building this place by your representatives of your county. Pretty selfish in public service really.

Im sure everything has been affected but COVID, but this is frustrating. Their website said they had reopened. I called and left a message to schedule a drop off. No return call was received. Now the last 3 weeks, when I call, it rings once and then goes to a busy signal.If they are still closed, they need to update the website and give us realistic expectation of when they will reopen.This is a great facility that weve used before. Current customer service is not good.

The labels arent always right but saved a lot of money

Ive used Under the Sink before COVID and had great experiences--pull right up, open trunk, staff removes fluids, and then drive off--no appointment necessary. Now, post-COVID, they require appointments but after 3 voicemails they didnt respond. Upon trying again, they replied were fully booked out for 12+ weeks and to try again later. This is unacceptable! No other places are taking certain fluids like antifreeze!

Ive been trying to make an appointment for a week. I get a full mailbox or a busy signal. I dont think theyre actual open again. Has anyone else had any luck making an appointment recently?

Pull up with a few cans of paint. Sign at gate says by appt only so I call many times over 10 minutes...nothing but busy signal. Pull up past the gate and the guy (not doing anything) tells me to keep calling and appointments are a few weeks out due to contact tracing??? How hard it is to take a few cans of paint? Its literally the purpose of the operation.

This place is awesome - really easy to drop off your old paint. You dont even get out of your car, they come out to you!Also nice place to pick up a new recycle bin if you need one.

How is this a city service? We have an ongoing remodel of our own home and they wouldnt take our old school florescent bulbs. Apparently we had too many (old house old lights). I guess in the trash they go. Thanks for not providing said environmental services.Also to be noted the manager has a bad attitude. Very rude.Lets save the earth.... or not. Way to go Omaha.

Three weeks to get an appointment is ridiculous. It uses to be no appointment needed.

Didnt know we needed appointments so we called when we got there because there was no one there in line and asked if we could drop off two cans of paint and they sad no. Two or three people standing there looking at us with nothing to do
