Brought my car in and let them know the P codes and what I wanted them to quote me on to fix it. They quoted me over $2200 for the repair which was estimated at $900 to $1200 everywhere I looked online. I have since been able to find another shop that is doing it for less than $1000. I was also charged $148 for “labor” which entailed them hooking up their scan tool and telling me what codes I had when I had already told them when I came in the first time. Would never consider using them again.

I took my vehicle in for an issue it was having and they found that what was wrong was not as bad as what I thought. They also do a complementary inspection and send you a video to watch as they walk around the vehicle and show you what us wrong and why. So for me they found a few issues that I did not even know about which in the long run is saving me more money. They are polite, professional and knowledgeable. I will definitely be using them again.

Car was making scraping noises after I replaced the front suspension myself. My wife was furious and made me take it to the Kia dealer to mop up any mistakes. They had it 4 days and all they could tell me is that the bearings I installed were bad and that the new struts I put in might have a bad bearing. After days of them being too busy, we picked up the vehicle and Brets diagnosed the issues with some rusty parking brake and a bent rotor dust plate and had us running in a matter of hours. My wife is thrilled and so am I that I didn’t do anything to harm her car! These guys are honest and professional and that is hard to come by these days.

Highly recommend Mark and his team. I had my sons car in during his leave for he said was 1) trouble shifting (transmission), 2) electrical (blinkers and hazard lights were out and wouldnt work), 3) a bumper replacement due to damage (where he lives back east they said to repair it would take over a week so I told my son about my previous experiences at Bretts and if anybody could help out with the bumper and car repair it would be them). They checked the transmission and that wasnt the problem so we didnt need a new one that we thought), they were able to replace the bumper and thus fixed the electrical so he finally had blinkers and hazards), checked and rotated the tires.Mark kept me up to date on what they were doing and what they found might be needed. Not to mention they sent a video of them going over the car so I was able to see what they saw as they explained what they found. Pretty cool! The car was done the next day and works like new.Check them out!

Video of the 27 point inspection they perform was great and much appreciated as it validated a repair that was needed. Dealt with Dave and he was great and understanding of where the most bang for my buck should go in order to fix something that I wasn’t sure about initially. That work was done as per his timeline and very satisfied to date.

I have been using Brets for auto repairs since I started driving. They have always been very professional and thorough with their work. They are not the cheapest, but they are the most honest repair shop. When they say something needs to be fixed, you can trust they are telling the truth.

From the second I walked in the door I felt comfortable leaving my vehicle in their hands.I worked with Mark who kept me very informed about updates on my vehicle and costs related to the work being done.My 2014 Ram 1500 went in for an awful exhaust sound and some transmission concerns. Dave, the mechanic, did a fantastic inspection and in the complimentary video was very detailed about what he was seeing and what he suggested. Considering my truck was almost at 100k miles, they also performed the 100k mile tune-up.Outside the 100k mike tune up I had a bad exhaust manifold and Bret’s performed top-notch service and even put OE equipment on to replace the warped manifolds, that includes drilling out 4 bolts that were broken. The adaptive transmission had several shifting codes that were affecting the performance of how I drive, and sure enough bret’s helped me to find an inexpensive option to help her shift smoother.- all this work done in a day and a half. That to me is incredible.Did I mention the 36 month 36,000k mile warranty? Had me on the road confident in my truck again in no time. I can’t thank Bret’s enough for providing awesome service quickly and professionally. I’ll be using Bret’s for years to come.

Worst experience ever I won’t never gonna take my car here again

Arrived at the appointment time and received fast and complete service. They check the whole vehicle for an oil change including the battery & fluid levels and tested it and found battery needed to be replaced so I avoided a no start condition that could come at a bad time,I trust Bret’s with my car repairs.

I was referred to Brets by Certified Transmission when I thought my transmission was going out. It was something much more. I dont live in Olathe and had never used Brets before. They were friendly, professional and able to work with me right away. They diagnosed the problems and provided an accurate cost. Once the part was in, they quickly fixed my car and had me back on the road. Thanks for your help!

Spent a ton of money there on my Taco, they said do this work and shouldn’t have any more issues, having more and more issues since. Seems like every few months have to work on it. Figure with the money they took from me it wouldn’t have any problems. They did warranty what they worked on but found more things to fix to get money should have been brought up when I paid over 5k last time. But hey they have to eat too.

Had been taking my car here for a couple years to get oil changes done on it, and recommended them to a friend who needed the same service. They had previously tried to get me to pay them to change my air and cabin filters at $35/each, and I warned her they would likely try the same with her. Not only did they attempt this, they quoted her $70 per filter, and when she wisely declined, they jammed the cabin air filter back in haphazardly. We changed the filters later in about 3 minutes, paying $14 per filter. I will never be returning here, as the Christian values they tout clearly dont apply when it comes to squeezing a little extra out of people they think they can deceive. I would highly recommend you find another local mechanic.

Dropped the fuel tank and changed the exhaust manifold gasket they were awesome Mark kept me updated and was very professional i will recommend them to everyone.

I had a sudden need for diagnosis of a failing tire. Bret’s staff got me in right away and quickly provided information that I had an unrepairable tire. They provided a temp patch that would get me home that night safely, and when I returned the following day, they quickly balanced and mounted the new tire they had ordered for overnight delivery due to its unique characteristics. The service people I dealt with in the office as well as in the shop were very pleasant, professional and helpful. The pricing of the service was as estimated initially. Bottom line, an excellent experience for me. I recommend this service location without hesitancy.

I have used Bret’s Autoworks since 2012 when I needed a CV joint replaced on a 96’ Camry. They have been my trustworthy go to for prepurchace used vehicle inspections and for all work that needs done, from break pads to major motor work. Fair prices, Quick turn around, 100% trustworthy! They are not shy to tell you when a car is bad or if you should have a service done that needs it. Many great employees who take pride in their work!!

I called Matt and he was able to get my car in that day for an oil change. I waited there while they changed the oil. Very clean place and Christian music was playing over the speakers. Very nice wait. Matt was very pleasant. I’ll be bringing my car back for maintenance to Brett’s Autoworks!

Said it would be over $400 to change a $70 starter.way overpriced and wouldnt recommend to anybody. shouldnt ever cost that much for labor on such a simple fix

Went to Firestone to have my 1971 Ranchero aligned. They showed me I need to replace the power steering control valve. Took my car to Bretts and asked them to replace it. They were very friendly and remembered me from a year ago. They updated me on my cars progress and sent a video on the problems they found. They wondered why I needed to replace it because it wasnt that bad. They explained that it needs to be checked with the engine running. The real issue was the idler arm. Should have gone here first.

I had a wonderful experience at Brets Autoworks. My battery light kept coming on and it was my alternator. I had it replaced, no more issues. The staff was great. Atmosphere was positive, they play Christian Music in the office. Love it!!!

I have had a lot of work done to my truck in the past. They have always taken care of me and at unbelievably fair prices. My truck is 11 years old and has intermittent issues theyve spent days trying to diagnose but couldnt at the time because it just wouldnt do it for them. They wouldnt charge me for it either. They have always taken care of me and they will take care of you the same.And whoever fixed my mirror, thank you!!

Always use the coupons in the value packs that come in the mail, even if they are expired! WONDERFUL service, great customer relations, have been using them for years.... always honest... never have to worry about a thing, they take care of it all! :)Only gave 1star BC the system says that means good. They are higher priced than most. You do get great service, though. Even w/ a coupon, they are higher. Example: oil change only w/ coupon = $29.95. They will not match competitors. Other place oil change w/ tire rotation = $15.00. Ive gone to these guys for years. They wanted $360 for a driver side manual mirror; $155 for a battery. I got the mirror for $35 and battery w/ 3yr warranty and installation at Adv. Auto 1 block away. Sad to stop using them, but cant afford to throw my $ away anymore. :(

I was in Olathe visiting my sons. While I was there the water pump went out on my pickup. Bret’s Autoworks was able to fix it that day for a reasonable cost and got me on my way. I would highly recommend them.

Never taking my car back to this place. Well overpriced. I heard a bunch of good things and then was disappointed when I went in. They tried telling my dad they told me how much it was upfront but both my friend and I didn’t hear anything of a price. I didn’t even get anything done to it and I had to pay 273.00. absolutely ridiculous. wanted to charge me 450 for a window replacement when I was told by other places it would be 1/3 of that price.
