New Salem $ store employees are the best. I purchased some soda along with other items but the staff is always so engaging that I forgot the sodas. I went back to the store a the moment the young man saw me he came from behind the counter with the soda and said I tried to stop you but you were too fast. The Mgr there is also awesome and doesnt hesitate to get on a register to take care of the customers.

I was able to get in, find what I wanted in a short time and get out. Just what I like in a store. The cashier was both pleasant and professional and was a pleasure to deal with.

This store has stepped up some of its home decor. Good prices. Not all Dollar Generals are the same. This one has gotten better. The others in town has none of this stuff.

An employee at this location has tested positive for the virus. They didn’t notify the workers and they didn’t notify the public. A lot of people are still unaware. Do not go here!

I only go here to get munchies...and cleaning supplies. Hey, at least I clean!

If you know when to look you can find the same items that you would normally see in the major stores but at a much lower price.

Great service! I shop there alot. Everyone is very nice and respectful. Not sure of the bad experience the lady is speaking of, but Ive never had an issue from Ms. Jones, so there must have been more to the story, in order for the police to be called.

I absolutely am find of the staff here. They are friendly and helpful, they will come away from what they are doing without asking.The merchandise on the other hand is overpriced. Clothes and shoes tear, items break, refunds are hard. When I go there is generally for necessities now.

This is my neighborhood dollar general, I have been shopping here for over 3 years (since we purchased our home) I had a horrible experience today with the manager SHAREE JONES she threatened to call the police on me! I am so upset! I am a RN at the VA a Two time Navy and Army vet and a couponer she told me that she would not accept my coupons I simply quoted their coupon policy then she threatened me with calling the police. No crime committed! I feel violated and unwelcomed at this dollar general, as a manager SHAREE JONES must understand that we are not criminals but simply part of a community shopping at our local dollar general.Individuals put in management positions should be able to handle these situations without threatening tax paying citizens, it it werent for us your store wouldnt be open and you maam wouldnt have a job!
