Brought my 2014 WRX here after it threw a code for low compression. Turned out the dealer sold me a lemon with 3 pistons cracked. Rick, Jared, and Forrest helped me replace the engine, upgrade the turbo, and fix body damage, for a fantastic price. They helped me learn a lot and built a fantastic vehicle in the process. Dont go anywhere else for Subaru work!

Brought car in for multiple things - finish up adding fluids, bleed brakes and clutch, exhaust made from headers to existing exhaust, and a tune. Was told that it would only take a few days. The whole thing ended up taking over a month. Had to call to find out if things were needed or not. My car key was lost, sent home with someone else. The tune was not completed properly, car would not idle. Another shop fixed the tune in a matter of a hour and the previous tune was causing the car to run very rich. Was told wheel bearing was the cause of noise but it was actually the caliper hitting the back of the wheels which were damaged from it. Exhaust was very well done as well as fuel lines.

I imported a 1990 Skyline GT-R from a Japan that showed up with grossly neglected maintenance and a laundry list of issues needing addressed. Rick and his team had the knowledge and experience to handle the maintenance work plus they installed a Link ECU and were able to tune it in house on their four wheel dyno. They are now the only place Ill take my Skyline.I just wish I had found his shop sooner.

These guys are great!!! Nothing but the best work and good customer service. I took my STi there for some check engine codes that kept coming up because my other mechanic couldnt figure it out in the 7 times I had brought it back to him with the light back on. So I decided to take my car to Superior Soobie and Im glad I did. They fixed it that day and explained the problem to me. When another weird code came up a few days later they sent me a reflash via email to fix the problem free of charge. Get your Soobie work done here. You wont regret a thing!!!!

I originally called soobie bcuz of a friend. She told me that they are a good group of guys. So I did. This was to get a quote on dyno tuning my chevy avalanche. I did a cam and some other stuff. Since then Ive been in contact with them and also their link engine management systems rep. Long story short they are great and I have big plans to feature them on my YouTube channel still in its creative stages. Id definitely recommend them not only for subaru stuff but tuning.. dyno.. and all that side of what they offer. Rick will talk your ear off giving you a very broad spectrum of information. You get him going and hell gladly tell you what he knows. That is a big asset. Jason tuned my truck and he did a really good job. My truck sounds and runs amazing. Ill be doing a turbo kit amd they will be the ones who tune that for me as well. 5 stars guys!!

Thank you so much to Rick and his Subaru genius mechanics for doing such a stellar job replacing my cars head gaskets, pcv valve, piston rings and fixing the noisy valve lash. Much appreciation also to Rick for always patiently explaining and showing me why my car needed the repairs. I couldnt wait to borrow a friends rescuedoodle and get back my favorite place - the mountains. Ive avoided harder drives for a long time because of all the on-going issues with my car as I just didnt trust it. The drive to Mt. St. Helens yesterday was fantastically gorgeous. In the five years Ive owned this car, she has never driven better and her gas mileage was great too - better than before. Ill be making an appointment soon to get the break in oil changed and that mysteriously disappearing catalytic converter cover replaced too...Im so glad I stumbled across SSI!

Did not fix the issue after spending $820. The problem still exists! Did not fix anything that I asked for! Instead replaced parts that dod not need replacement just to tell me that I need to spend another $1000 to fix what I originally brought it in for! Don’t waste your money and time with this place.

Rick and his crew are the best! Ive been going to them for over a year and a half now. They are super knowledgeable on all things subie,. I had them install the lift kit on my 04 Forester with new shocks/struts and that work was so perfect, that any problems or issues that come up with my subie I dont hesitate to call them- thats why I immediately called them for axle and CV boot fixes and dashlight changes. They got my car in the shop, communicated through the whole process and got me all set up and I was then on my way. Be sure to give their shop dog Blitz lots of love while you are in there.

Let me start by saying that I drive up from Rogue River to have these guys work on my STI. Thats how good they are. From pricing to friendliness, this place is a cut above the rest, period. Have questions about your soobie? These guys are happy to geek out about anything you want to know. And the tuner, Jarred, has been tuning Subarus since before accessports were a thing. Ask him about it. To make a short story even shorter, if you want to modify or repair your Subaru this is the place to go.

Rick and his team are second to none!I had a cracked exhaust manifold on my 2011 outback (unbeknownst to me) and they were able to diagnose the issue on the spot when Lithia couldnt get me in for a few days. In addition to that they were able to replace the part in just a few hours.All in all the most friendly team youll encounter. Super fast and professional. Rick even showed me the old cracked manifold - neat!I will be returning for future service and highly recommend checking them out if youre in need of advice, diagnosing or repair.

Came in with a Snapped timing belt and all sorts of engine destruction and these guys came out and did the most amazing job on my 2016 STi! Complete motor build with a new motor and all the fun go fast parts you can think of and these guys did the most superb job and it came out better than expected. So check this out. They gave me a great quote to do the timing belt and oil pump seal on my Acura. They finished it right on time and when I showed up to pay, they charged me LESS than my quote because they get it done faster and didnt need to replace a few things. I would have never known the difference. Talk about integrity! Also great group of guys that tolerated me walking around the shop asking questions and bugging them!

I thought I already posted a review, but Im happy to post another one since Google is asking me to. Rick and his guys did a stellar job replacing my headgaskets, piston rings, and pcv valve. My beloved Subie runs better than ever. I wish I had ditched my other long-time mechanic sooner.

Rick and the other technicians offer quality results and dont break my bank! When I called Rick with interest in a lift kit for my Subaru Impreza, he was patient, and took his time as we figured the exact dimensions and specifications for fitment! Being this is my ONLY car, I wasnt able to go into this build blindly and wanted to drive it in and out in 1 day!! Rick was happy to order all the parts for me, and to help with the inconvenience of being without a car, provided a loaner car to use! I dropped it off at 9am when they opened and picked it up just before they closed at 6pm. I AM so happy with the outcome and how much more fun Im able to have on off road adventures! Had a grinding squeaking noise that started today on my 15 Forester and couldnt diagnose the problem myself. Reliable, trustworthy guys who know their stuff! They even went as far as to explain their process in a way I could understand. In my experience, the job ended up taking longer than they estimated but they didnt raise the cost, they charged me what I was quoted which is respectable and the reason why I always recommend this shop.

Alrighty. This shop. I am AMAZED every time I talk to Rick, and agast at how exceptional the team is here. We have only had a few things done here but they have saved us a couple thousand dollars and a bunch of time already. If I can help it, Ill never get work done anywhere else!

My experience at Superior Soobie was unbelievable. Rick really cared about my 02 WRX. He gave me a lot of advice, was very friendly, even topped off my power steering fluid and changed worn out vaccum lines just because he noticed. I am without a doubt going to SSI for all my future modifications and tuning.

Theres something to be said that this was the highest recommended shop in portland for Subarus that I ran into. I was very impressed with this shop. Not people who will jerk you around or over quote you. Great quality work and fair prices for their specialty. I HIGHLY recommend you go here for your auto needs.

WORST experience. They left my car in worse shape than it was in before dropping it off. SSI didnt install my struts correctly. They also left air in my front brakes. I almost got into an accident after leaving their shop. After taking it to another shop today they confirmed the struts and breaks were not properly installed. I called them trying to get a refund and they have now refused. There is nothing superior about this shop.

The guys there took amazing care of me and my car. Highly recommend this place for your Subaru needs!

Superior soobie and import.... man..... what an outstanding shop. I had my car break down from engine failure over two years ago and recently had them swap a new ( used ) engine in. It was a 2005 legacy gt being swapped into my 2014 wrx and boy I couldn’t be happier. The car has ran flawlessly since I got it from them and I couldn’t be happier. Rick who owns the shop is one of the most stand up respectable and honest people I’ve ever met, and that’s a rare thing in the auto industry. He helped me through every step of figuring out what needed to be done and what was the best way to go about stuff within budget. If it was showing up unexpectedly or emailing him several hours past close, he was always there to help. I would highly recommend this shop and honestly the only thing that I would say negative is they ran past estimated time a little but hey, they took the time to make sure everything is perfect and I can deal with that (:

Great guys to work with when dynoin cars

Superior Soobie does excellent high quality work. Its the only place I take my vehicles. Friendly knowledgable staff and decent prices (although car repair has gotten crazy-expensive everywhere nowadays).

I had my outback towed to superior soobie they recommended a tow person which never responded to my text so I called another tow then they got my outback running but did minimum work which I could have done air in the brake system and they didnt change my cam sensor I had to do myself which melted the catalytic converter which I have to fix myself and I changed the cam sensor and noticed that the timing cover didnt have all the bolts in the cover then found a piece of it cracked

I was traveling in my RV and towing my Subaru which had developed a bad exhaust leak from the up pipe. This was on a Thursday and I was leaving on Saturday. I asked if they could get it in on Friday, to which they said yes. While it was in, I asked for some other things to be looked at. The power steering was binding at low RPM, a recurring CEL kept coming on, it needed an oil change, and a poorly fitting gasket needed replacing. They ran into problems with the up pipe and were not able to get it done during normal business hours, so they stayed late to get it completed. They also found a few other minor things that needed repair. Although they replaced the power steering fluid and included an additive, the next morning the power steering was still binding and I was disappointed and figured I needed a new pump soon. However, after two or three days, the additive must have cleaned out some gunk and now it feels like new, even in very cold weather. The recurring CEL light is also gone. These guys know their Subarus!

These guys are knowledgeable and trustworthy. Would strongly recommend them to anyone who owns a Subaru!

I took my 2001 Subaru Legacy GT Wagon to them for a timing belt. I didnt have the confidence in the last owner saying he had it done. Also found my cars temperature was skyrocketing but I didnt notice any head gasket problems i.e. milky coolant/coolant loss etc. They did great, replaced all components in the timing belt as well as a few other things. They called and took their time to explain any and all recommendations. I authorized more work that was needed(I knew it was needed prior) they found the source of my sky rocketing temps.....a bad sensor a previous mechanic replaced. I appreciate their honesty, integrity and excellent work! I am definitely giving them my business in the future!! Keep up the great work!

Amazingly knowledgeable staff, they got me in diagnosed the problem, fixed it and got me back on my way, all for a fraction of the price the dealership would have charged.

So I would go to SSI for oil changes. The last time I called and was quoted a higher price for the same oil change. I asked why it was so much more. I was told it was due to tariffs. What? SSI charged $130 for the oil change. Called Surgline and they do the oil change for $89 using the exact same oil. Then I found out they stripped my oil drain plug and didnt tell me. I get that mistakes happen, but its a serious problem not to tell the customer about it. I am disappointed in their lack of care for the customer. Sad

I took my 2005 Legacy GT to have the spark plugs done and I cannot express how impressed and happy I was with my experience here. They invited me into the shop to see the underside of my car and showed me some things to watch out for and suggested services that could be done by ACTUALLY showing me where there was a failure. The car ended up needing a much more extensive repair which we are currently having done. Big thanks to Rick and SSI for all the advice and help. Highly recommend to everyone I can.UPDATE: Received my car after a ringland failure was found and repaired by Rick and his team. Rick had kept me updated with every development along the way. I cannot express how impressed I am with the service I received and how helpful these guys were. I even got the car back and it was spotless inside! It didnt smell like oil or car parts nor did it have junk on the steering wheel or even on the floor. BOTTOM LINE If you have a Subaru, take it here.

I have always driven by the place because I lived in the area, so when I had an issue with my Evo I decided to call them. Rick not only helped facilitate my car being towed to his location, he spotted me for the charges. Which isnt the only thing he spotted me for aswell. Through some connections he was able to find me some really nice internals and a block for my Evo 8 at a really good price. I didnt have enough at the time, so he spotted me again. Every question I asked is answered to an exceptional level. There were many things the previous build shop didnt do that was supposed to be done the first build. Rick took his time to research every aspect of the build he was doing to make sure I dont have the same failure as last time. The overall experience so far has exceeded my expectations.

Not nice guy! My 16 yo daughter was stranded with her Subaru right by their location and walked up and asked for help. The guy said they were full and couldnt help her. Really? I hope their young daughters get stranded somewhere and meet the same fate!
