Mrs. Jones was a speaker for the Sigma Epsilon chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. entitled Peace of Mind: Breaking the Stigma About Mental Health. She was an absolutely excellent speaker for this event!The purpose of this event was to help individuals understand how vital our mental health is, point out key features of poor mental health, and how to get help. Being that mental health is a matter that’s swept under the rug, the goal was to show that no one is alone in their struggles with mental health. Mrs. Jones administered an icebreaker that measured if attendees are highly sensitive persons and needed to ensure they were managing all emotional and mental health needs accordingly. She also touched basis on mental health disorders, how to look for them, how to prevent them, and also give a real-life situation as to why seeking help is imperative. The information provided is valuable to anyone, but it is twice as valuable for the Black community.So many people loved the event and said that it helped them understand more about their mental health. I couldnt have picked a better professional for the job!
