Please at all cost avoid this transportation service! I work for a business that require people to frequently use Madison taxi. They are NEVER on time, very unprofessional, and overall just bad business!! If I could give 0 stars I would

My fiancé and I were in Madison visiting Epics campus this past weekend. We had taken an Uber to the campus, but Epic recommended that we call Madison Taxi and gave us their contact information for the return trip. When we were ready to leave, we called and finally connected with the operator after about 5 minutes. They told me it would be about a 20 minute wait, which is understandable because of the distance between Verona and Madison. We were not particularly in a rush and the operator was friendly. I received a confirmation text and a follow-up call from the driver roughly 20 minutes later confirming my location. He said that he was close, but after about 40 minutes from the time of that call (now an hour from the initial call) we still hadnt seen the driver. I decided to call back and apparently the driver had picked up someone else and left. He assured us that he wasnt far away and would be turning around to get us. 30 minutes later, we still hadnt heard from the driver. An hour and a half from the initial call, we decided to finally just get an Uber. I tried to call and cancel but never connected with the operator, and they never attempted to call me. It took about 20 minutes for our Uber to arrive and we never saw the taxi. This occurred between 2-4PM on a Friday, so I can understand being busy, but why was I never called and made aware of the situation? I felt that this was unprofessional and there was a clear lack of communication. If you want to get anywhere on time, I would recommend just getting an Uber/Lyft so you can track your driver and not spend hours waiting.

Date Of Service: 9/18/2021 approx. 11:00AM - THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM! DO NOT USE THEM!!! We utilized this taxi company while in town for an event. They quoted 15 minutes for arrival at my hotel but instead took them longer than 45 minutes to arrive. Upon arrival, the driver had to shove miscellaneous items around in the van (belongings, food wrappers, etc) to make room for myself and my aging mother. We drove for a LOT longer than it would have taken to drop us off at the event, so my mother finally asked if the driver knew where she was going & she ended up turning around and taking completely different roads. Our hotel to event was a 15-minute drive, and we spent almost an hour in the van driving around miscellaneous side-streets that was NOT anywhere near the directions that Google Maps advised. The seats of this van are incredibly dirty, the windshield is spider-webbed, and the driver just admitted that she STOPPED AT A GARAGE SALE on her way to come pick us up. My mother looked very uncomfortable during the entire ride, like she couldnt believe that a taxi service had a vehicle as gross as this vehicle was. These are some of the reasons why Uber/Lyft are so incredibly popular nowadays; taxi companies are just not a good option for a ride anymore. I promise you...we wont use this taxi company again. Well be calling an Uber/Lyft to get back to our hotel after this event...this taxi company cost us over $30, but Uber would be $21.UPDATE ON 9/28/2021 - Company responded to our review with commentary stating that we were inaccurate, that we had not used their company, and provided us with a manager phone number. We called the number in question, and it was for Roto Rooter. We then looked up the company and spoke with a representative who ensured us that it wasnt their company we had used. We had gotten this companys business card from our Hotel Front Desk (Madison West Country Inn and Suites), so we are CERTAIN it was this company. According to the rep we spoke to tonight (9/28), SH!T HAPPENS and a manager will call us tomorrow; no apologies were given. To be continued...THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM! DO NOT USE THEM!

Will never use Madison Taxi again! We called to reserve a cab for an airport pickup because our flight was getting in after midnight. We gave them our flight information and Madison taxi assured us that our driver would be there and we would receive text notifications when they were on their way and when they arrived to the airport. About 20 minutes after we arrived at the airport, we received a text saying they were on their way. We waited around for another 45 minutes before deciding to call for an update on where our driver was. Right away, they knew who we were and knew of our reservation, but informed us that our driver knowingly picked up another passenger instead. They did not inform us of this, nor did they send another driver to pick us up. It was now after 1am. Luckily there was another cab pulling up from a different company that was able to get us home. We will NEVER book or use or recommend Madison Taxi again.

Booked a cab for an Airport drop over 2 days in advance through their website. Got a confirmation. Then, 30 minutes before the pickup they told me they couldn’t do the pickup! They said it was “impossible”. I was trying to support local business and gain some peace of mind about a trip- but what I got was absolutely unprofessional behavior, and a stressful morning. Last time I’m ever calling them. Do not recommend.

Friendly and easy to talk to! Kurt is my driver and I love seeing him every Sunday. I ride through MTM and I requested them. Thank u for your service, it means a lot! I love and miss Antwanette but its all good!

After what i seen, I will never call this place for a ride. Watched the driver of a van pass in a turn lane, cut off another car, and take off at a high rate of speed on the beltline. Not the thing to do in a rollin billboard......Thanks owner for the reply and our phone conversation you say we had, that never took place.I dont know how passing a dump truck in a left turn lane that was going the speed limit is a unique situation as you put it, but ok. Dont even know how you asked the driver why they did it, because you never inquired if I had a plate number or anything.Hard to address something without the all the info, but I guess if your just trying to make your review list look like it was addressed............

I ordered a cab 2 hours in advance, that came 30 minutes late leading to 3 of my appointments to be cancelled, their service is amazing, but the waiting time is the most important thing on calls

Are used to work at Madison Taxi and I’ll give it five stars because I know the people that drive there and especially the dispatchers they try their hardest to make sure everybody gives where they’re going the shortest way possible and on time. Also the cost is actually lower than some of the others.

Nearly had a crash with one of your vans. The taxi driver disregarded a giant traffic arrow you could see for over half a mile. Then decided to fly by 20+ cars who paid attention to the merge arrow. Then at the last second he came within inches of my car. Complete disregard for so many people, but hooray for his passenger(s)…

When I made my reservation, I thought it strange that nobody confirmed or asked me for a phone number. Sure enough, when they were not on time I called and they had no record of my reservation to the airport.

I told the dispatcher I had a large package which became easily accommodating. Professional!2nd. I called to request a ride, and my drop-off location was a park and ride, because my vehicle was there. When I initially called, the dispatcher asked me what time my bus was, which is not an unusual question for cabs dropping off at an airport or bus station so they can make sure you arrive on time, but when I responded I wasn’t catching a bus and simply needed the next available cab, she seemed to have a problem with this. She asked me if I wasn’t getting on a bus there what business did I have going to the park and ride, which I maybe wouldn’t have found so unusual if it weren’t for her tone, and I told her again, I wasn’t catching a bus, I just needed to be picked up at the address I gave first, dropped off at the address I gave second, and I had the money to pay for my ride. She kept arguing with me, “well what do you need to go to the park and ride for?” which I felt was very unprofessional and intrusive, and I said I didn’t feel that was any of her business, could she please just send the cab. She continued to argue the matter so I told her thank you and called another taxi service. I found the whole experience very bizarre, rude, and intrusive, and will never call this company again.

This morning I took a taxi from my house to the hospital. I told the taxi driver to smile and have a nice day. The taxi driver told me, dont tell me what to do! He was not being funny or playing around. He really meant it! He then proceeded to drive like a maniac all the way to the hospital!! Rude, dangerous and unprofessional !

I had called at a pretty late time but still received excellent service. My driver, Donald, was very kinda and funny and even did Donald Duck impressions for me and my friend. He honestly was so sweet and probably one of the most pleasant taxi rides I’ve ever had.

Most people will only take the time to write a review only to complain; or if they are more than impressed! However, even though the driver that picked me up to take me to my dr. appt. was tardy, his driving skills are excellent!Furthermore, that driver that picked me up, is an ABSOLUTELY STELLAR DRIVER!!!!!!! Not only was he very conversational, he was incredibly smooth, and not too much, just the right amount of talent!!! It was much more like being in a limo. I almost forgot I was in taxi, being that he was so cool, its high quality in the style of driving provided by the one and only Mr. Brian S. Here is everything I found extremely unpleasant about my trip:1. Waited 45 minutes to be picked up. Uber wait was 5 minutes and there was limited traffic in the area. When I called after waiting 20 minutes to check on our pickup I was greeted with rudeness.2. Drivers navigation skills were abysmal. Took an extended route and drove with zero confidence.3. Driver was rude to us.4. Expensive. Luckily I had a voucher.

Extremely RUDE dispatch. I called to see what time I would be picked up for an appointment and was told a time that was way too early. When I explained this to the very rude woman she told me that if they were late I could not yell at her. I also requested that a certain driver not be sent and also got a very rude response. I would NEVER take Madison taxi if I was not forced to because of my insurance.

Love Madison Taxi for their service and genuine care toward the disabled. If not for MadTaxi, I wouldnt get out at all. Their drivers are kind, considerate, and patient with people like me, who just dont move as fast as we used to and need a little help.

Driver was rude and abrasive. Accused me of wanting to run off without paying my fair when I informed him my wallet was in my bag in the trunk. I do not recommend this cab company.

I requested a taxi that arrived 1 hour later. I missed my appointment because of that. During that hour, every time I called I was told it will be there in 5-10 min so I kept waiting. If I was given the correct ETA I would have switched my trip to a ride-sharing company and tracked where the driver is. 1 star for lack of punctuality and wrong updates.

Terrible customer service. Driver chastised me for not having cash because he didnt know how to use the credit card machine..... And they wonder why we prefer Lyft?

Worst service I’ve ever dealt with I’m waiting on a ride now set up through a program my children and I attend they are nearly an hour late for pick up. Last week they were 50 minutes late to get us then 1 1/2 late to bring us back.

Driver saved my life today. After discovering the badgers no bag policy I began walking 12 students backpacks back to the parking garage 2 miles away. After trekking .5 miles back I called Madison taxi and was picked up less than 5 minutes later. Driver was wonderful. Drove me back to the parking garage, convinced the garage cashier to let us in and out for free and got me back to the stadium in about 15 minutes. Needless to say she saved my day and got to watch the badgers decimate Maryland.

I live in a small Town in Wisconsin which doesnt not have a cab company. Madison Taxi comes 2+ hours away and they have gone above and beyond to always ensure that I make it to all of my appointments on time! They have always been courteous and helpful....... I was in Madison west the taxi was late several times. Even yesterday I ordered a taxi to Starbucks. After 30 min I called to ask about it. It says there no one in your region Ill try to arrange its gonna take 20 min. After 20 min the shop closed and I had to leave. So as I went out I received the taxi is on its way. So I cancelled the cab and took a 20 minutes walk since it stopped raining.

Travelled home from airport after a long trip. Driver very friendly and did a great job driving in snowy and slippery conditions. The next day I realized my coin purse with all ID and credit cards was missing, probably dropped in cab. Very helpful dispatch staff found it in their safe with everything, including cash, intact. Appreciate the exemplary customer service from driver and dispatch staff!

Never show up on time for pick for my kids to be to school on time .. I have changed the time several times to an earlier pick up, and they still show up 30 min to 45 min late. Everyday.

Rude dispatch, rude drivers, doesnt follow special directions, dropped kid off at wrong place without any adult present. In response to your reply, I tried speaking w 3 different people at your office. Each of them yelled at me, told me it was my problem, talked over me not even allowing me to explain policy or offer solutions. I was told I was not being helpful because I was doing my job. I was hung up on by all three people I spoke with in your office. I am advising all clients not to use you for anything. Your cab company should not be allowed to participate in transporting children to/from school.

The hotel booked a ride for me with these people. The driver was kind of a d**k. I asked him if he knew any restaurants in the city and he told me to Google it.This is part of the reason people hate taxi services and they will be completely replaced with ride sharing apps soon enough.

The driver was rude and barely said a word to me. Instead of saying hi when I got in, she radioed dispatch to see if she could go home after she dropped me off. She also answered a personal call on her cell phone while driving. The cab was a beat up and dirty mini van that stank. Cab #108, around 1600 on 5/13/19.

The cabs are spacious and offer the anticipated olfactory bonus of semi-public transportation. Dont expect an Einstein to answer the phone, schedule your service, or drive you safely, or have any record of such. Sucks if you need to take a cab, unless youre drunk... then its smart, no matter how mentally incapable the service. I cab when my alternative is jail.

Was at the airport in my own company car picking up a student of mine, the driver of #73 (older white man) walked out in front of me to get into his own car. I was going about 5mph and he gave me an immediate look of disgust, started saying “wow!!!” very loud over and over. Then when he drove past, he slowed down to drive extremely slow and say it again. I haven’t even ever used this service and this gentlemen was enough for me to be creeped out. Definitely inappropriate and unnecessary. Do not recommend and won’t recommend to anyone in the future.

Negative stars if I could. I called for a client gave them the phone number of the business. The client apparently called another cab that got there first and did not take this one. I now have a very rude voicemail telling me how terrible of a person I am for not calling them back when I couldnt have known. NEVER USE THEM.

I gave up on Madison Taxi four years ago after almost missing a ride to catch Van Galder bus to O’Hare. The previous evening, I booked a cab to pick me up an hour before the bus was scheduled to leave which was more than enough time - it’s a 10-15 minute ride. I had to yell for ‘help’ for someone in my apt. Complex to drive me there and offered to pay them.That was the THIRD such occurence over about 5 or 6 years.I see from recent reviews that Madison Taxi has NOT improved their reliability.

I was just cut off by one of these clowns and proceeded to watch the driver cut off somebody else all within 10 seconds. Use Uber.

I didn’t use this service. However, I drove behind its van today and almost got into an accident thanks to the reckless driver. The van suddenly cut in front of me without using the turn signal. I was in the very right lane and almost drove into a pole because of the driver. And there was a customer in the van as well so I can’t imagine being what it must’ve been like to be in the passenger seat. I’d NEVER risk my life and use this service even if it meant that I’d have to walk in the polar vortex.License plate#: 378 YGK happened @approx 1:15pm on John Nolen Drive. The van went on Rimrock Road and turned left onto Moorland Rd.(I may not remember the numbers correctly but I’m sure of the letters of the license plate.)

Loaded their new app and used it over the weekend. Worked great! Easier to use than uber, honestly, and my ride came super fast, I wasnt even quite ready lol. Friendly driver too. Will def use again

Last taxi ride, the vechicle smelled really bad. I dont think it was the companys fault but the driver.

We interact with this company through Madison schools. The cab is almost always late. They just do not seem well coordinated. Weve also heard their radio interactions, which are often rude and sometimes disparaging of riders. Would not use this company for personal travel.

Left a bag in the taxi and the customer service agent and driver went above and beyond to be sure it was located and returned.

I got into an accident with one of their drivers. One of their drivers hit me and I am still waiting for my vechile to be fixed. The communication throughout the entire process is poor between them and their insurance carrier. Dont ever get involved in an accident with them youll regret it.

This is the worst cab service to ever have in Madison, and to carry the city name on mobile transportation. The Staff is nasty and sound like Druggies and The manager Ginger is just as snobby. Please be aware of this cab company because they lost my daughter from her elementary school for an hr and a half. I really am unsatisfied with their services, It was the worst I ever had.

Very rarely show up at times requested, even when called the day before. When I have called to find out if the cab is coming have been yelled at about expecting them to show up on time. Still drivers were usually nice so I kept calling them. Today was the last straw when I tried to set up a time for pickup and was trying to tell them I had an appointment and wanted reassurance they would show up when requested. I would say I was being just as rude back but the woman barely gave me a chance to speak. Operator yelled at me so much that I just hung up and called another taxi service for the first time in 10 years. So I guess thanks rude operator for giving me the push to try something new.

I am basing this review on the supervisor, not the drivers. Attempting to set up cab rides for a minor was frustrating and she was extremely rude and defensive. I hope to never have to use this company again. Take my advice and look elsewhere for a ride.

Deliberately kept driving by us at the airport after we called. Drove by several times before stopping apparently looking for a split fare. Driver didnt load our bags and was generally abrasive and rude.

1 Hour to dispatch a cab! Had to call back to get an ETA only to find out my cab could figure out the address. 75 minutes later, I watched my cab turn the wrong way down the street where I stood and then drive away. Yep, total NO SHOW!! For a cab company, thats a total FAIL!!!

Scheduled a cab the day before for the next morning to go to the airport. Cab never showed up. Theres really no excuse.

Called ahead for 2 taxis for myself and another traveler needing to go in a different direction. They only sent one and didn’t have another available. Then they piled five additional people in the car and drive me around Madison for 45 minutes before taking me to my destination to deliver all this people. The other traveler was stranded waiting for a different cab company. And then they charged me full fare. I’m really still expected to pay for this? I am a business traveler and I will never use this company again and will recommend the same to everyone I know. Worst customer service I’ve experienced in a long time.

Most of the cabs smell bad but the drivers sometimes smell much worse. You can come across certain drivers who have clearly urinated or defecated on themselves and are still picking up customers. You can get bed bugs from the vehicles and some of the drivers take advantage of people who dont know the city very well, by driving the wrong way on purpose to make the meter run the price way way up. Children are treated poorly by drivers when they ride without parents, and the vehicles are very dangerous in general as broken parts are either replaced with cheap garbage parts or never replaced at all. Id be very careful deciding to ride in these cabs at all. There are a handful of very respectful caring drivers who have clean cabs and theyre good to their passengers and help keep the price as low as possible and they drive safe and treat the children like their own but unless you ask for them by name its unlikely to get them as your driver. If you do ride with this company Id suggest you at least refuse to ride with Eileen as she is one of the most belligerent, dangerous drivers at the company. She also is the biggest liar and fraud at the company and she will take the longest most incredible route to ensure that the bill for the ride is way more than it would have been.

Its been 2 years and the service hasnt changed. Mean operators and terrible service. My advice would be to avoid this place. Use Uber.
