Absolutely fantastic experience!! I needed my headlight bulb replaced and was quoted over $200 at a nearby mechanic where as Hansen’s quoted me for less than half that price. Hansen’s is fair, honest, and does good quality work, not to mention that the people who work here are very friendly! I will be recommending Hansen’s to anyone who is in need of a good mechanic!!

I first went here in December of 2020 when my engine broke down and needed replacing, along with a few other things that went wrong. They were quick, affordable (as affordable as you can be with replacing an engine), and did excellent quality work! My car runs beautifully and now I go here for any auto service I need. As a young woman, I was also taught to be wary of car shops trying to make me spend more than I need to, but this has never been an issue with them. Very grateful for Hansens Auto!

Recently I bought a 13yr old truck with worn steering and suspension parts that didnt seem that bad. John personally showed me what parts and how they were bad. Hansons repaired my front end in a timely matter at a fair price. It rides nice, real nice. I should have talked to John before I bought truck, I would have paid less for it.A week later my truck stalled with a dead battery 1 mile from johns shop. I brought my 1999 Subaru 2.5RS in for an alignment after having done a great deal of suspension work. John is the man! He communicated with me on any quirks he saw, got everything within factory specifications and the vehicle steers and corners like a dream. The prices are extremely reasonable for the service you receive. This is NOT a toe-and-go operation. They are thorough, honest, and highly experienced. Take your vehicles here for alignments.John even said, Bring the vehicle in after about 3,000 miles. Well see how things settle. Granted there will be an additional charge, but the suggestion, and also the offer to install rear camber bolts to get things even more in line was greatly appreciated.Awesome work, Hansens. You will have my continued business.

I have been going to Hansens for about 8 years. I can not say enough great things about them. They do a wonderful job of keeping my car running well. In addition to doing great mechanical work, they are incredibly kind, friendly, and honest! They never do work that does not have to be done, but always make me aware of things that need to be watched.Once I had to take my vehicle to the dealer for a part recall. The dealer told me that I needed $2,000 in work done. I called Hansens to talk about it. They talked me through diagnosing things like checking the fluid color, etc. and then told me that they did not think I needed the expensive repairs the dealer wanted to make. When I took my car in for an oil change, they checked what the dealer said needed to be done and I think it ended up costing me about $100 to fix one thing.I previously had a very old car that they expertly took care of, but at the same time would always tell me if something was worth doing or not.I rarely speak directly with the mechanics, but whenever I do, they are sweet, polite and patient.Since I often wait in the office for my car to be worked on, I get to see how they are kind, friendly and fair with everyone who walks through the door.I never thought I would say this about an auto repair office, but I feel a lot of love and appreciation for all of them. Thanks to John, Susie and the rest of the team for running such a wonderful auto repair service center.

Everyone was friendly, accommodating, professional, transparent and honest. I spent quite a bit of time in the shop over the course of a few days and every interaction I saw between Hansens staff members and customers exemplified professionalism and friendliness. Its clear that Hansens has developed many genuine, longstanding relationships with its customers, which is quite rare to find these days. Went with a pretty bad puncture in truck tire. Managed to patch/repair, switched over spare to main rim and use repaired tire as spare. Were very honest about it - it may hold and it may not, but keep an eye on the repaired spare, try it and see. Anywhere else would have been 2 new tires, no question about it. Saved me a bundle of cash and the service was excellent. Highly recommended - this place was a great find. Rare to find such an honest down to earth auto repair shop. I will certainly use them again.

Very friendly and helpful, but the most expensive oil change I’ve had done. Though nice that they changed a bulb, they didn’t ask.EDIT (upgraded stars): We had another occasion to use Hansens and they were very helpful and responsive to our needs. We have one car and needed some quick service to keep our family in transportation.

Ive been taking my cars to Hansens for several years now, and have been impressed with the service and the conscientiousness of the staff. I have always been fairly treated and my car has been fixed when promised. The ride to work is an extra perk, too, that just makes it easier to schedule repairs.

Hansens auto has always been excellent to deal with. Theyve been honest with me on issues and cost, and have always finished the work on time. Their per hour labor cost is also very low when compared to dealerships and other shops. Id recommend them to anyone.

Hansens has kept our cars going for years. They are professional, honest and the nicest people you would ever want to deal with. Our Pathfinder had over 250,000 miles on it and it would never have lasted that long without their care. When we had to replace it last month, it was at their urging. They are so honest that they told us that it was not worth keeping on the road, even though they knew that if we bought a new car - we would have to have it serviced at the dealership. Thank God we have another used car that will be serviced by them because we enjoy their company. I would never hesitate to recommend them to friends.

Ive been taking my cars to Hansens since needing an engine rebuilt about 10 years ago, and I cant possibly say enough about the expertise, professionalism, kindness and generosity of the folks at Hansens Auto. Theyve taken such good care of me that I would never consider going to another mechanic. For everything from oil changes to major engine work, they have not only done the best for my car, but also for me.Theyve carefully explained the work, and have been so patient with my lack of understanding of cars. Theyve often been able to tell me what to do and save an expensive repair or tow, and theyve averted many larger problems for me by helping me to look ahead and take care of things before they need major work. Every time I or my daughter has needed to buy a car theyve helped us generously with advice.These folks know cars inside and out and theyre also some of the kindest and most honorable business people you will ever be lucky enough to meet!

GREAT Experience. Service was fantastic. I am a student at UW Madison and had new brakes installed back home before returning to school. I started having problems with my brand new brakes Thursday night here in Madison. Friday morning I called HANSENS Auto at 7:30AM, and they worked me into their schedule. In a matter of hours they documented everything the repair shop back home did wrong, took pictures of the damage, and fixed my car so I could head home for the weekend! Ive been working with Hansens for years and have had several different vehicles worked on. Currently having some work done to my work vehicle. John has always treated us very fair and the quality of work is outstanding. I have recommended Hansens to family, friends and customers.

I have been coming to Hansens Auto for a couple of years now. I know I can always get an honest answer about what is going on with my car and a fair price to fix it.

I sent my car to them for repair a couple of times, they got the jobs done. But the price is on the high end. Diagnosis alone costs $89 where I can get it free from other places. I know most places charge a fee to do it but in my opinion, it should be part of the labor cost not a separate fee.

Ive been going here for at least a decade, and I recommend them whenever I can. Theyre honest, fair, and thorough, and theyve never steered me wrong. Everyone I send to Hansens has had the same experience.

I showed up today with no appointment on a busy Monday. They determined I had a broken power steering belt, and would get me in as soon as possible. I walked the few blocks home, and my phone rang one hour later. I thought...this cant be good news.....BUT, the car was ready and fixed at a very fair (way less than a Acura dealer) price. This is not a first time occurrence....they are always on top of the situation, and I have nothing but good things to say about Hansens.

Took it in due to car shaking. After that got fixed they said that my brakes needed to be changed, which I figured. But they wanted to charge $800 to change all four. I ended up buying the parts my self ($200 retail) then took my car to another mechanic who said that the front two brakes only needed to be changed and only charged me $60. So I ended up returning the parts for my rear brakes

Im not sure how many stars to give Hansens Auto.What do you think about a shop that charges $141 dollars for parts and labor for work that costs $24.95 in parts (retail) and were installed in 5 minutes by a novice, no tools necessary?
