They even pointed out that I had a completely different issue than another shop had told me. They showed me the issue as well rather than just send me a repair list based on a quick lack luster in and out inspection from the other shop. This in turn will save me on repairs I don’t need for the ones I really do. Best oil change service ever and I’ve been driving since I was 16!

Had a very, very good experience here. Called and made an appt for oil change a day in advance--they accommodated. I ended up being available earlier on the scheduled day, and they took my car in earlier. Service was great--quick, easy, painless. It seems they did a full check of my vehicle too free of charge. They found a burnt out headlight and replaced it quickly and economically. Total price of oil change + headlight seemed very reasonable--cheaper than I thought it would be. Id recommend this place to others for sure.

Dave and his team made a routine oil change a life saving event. Not having much experience with auto maintenance, my tires were over inflated which the technician immediately remedied. Also, caught a driving light out on front side. In a VW this is hard to access but, they were determined to change it for me. Dave made me feel comfortable and safe. The owner Dave was really personable and I respect that he does the book keeping so he knows what’s going on with his business! First of all I cannot find a synthetic oil change thats cheaper than Daves! The facility is very clean and new. They get the service done quickly, what more could you ask for.

They have a full synthetic oil change special for $29.95 that is seemingly always going. Last couple of times I was there, I got that, and my tires rotated for a little over $50. And it took a little over an hour to have done. Everyone who works there is friendly and knowledgeable about what is going on with your vehicle. And when your vehicle is done, they text you a link to an online form that shows you what service you may need done in the future, and it even includes pictures! All in all, highly recommended!

I admit, I know very little about car care, what I do know is find a mechanic I can trust, one that stands behind their work. Ive taken my car to Daves a number of times, and his team has done an excellent job every time. I really appreciate the peace of mind Daves Auto Service provides me. I highly recommend them.

Zero stars should be an option. From my experience they charge a lot for just an inspection, and quoted me way more than the service costs elsewhere. I went to another mechanic and got my EPC replaced for $800 less than the quote I received from Dave’s. The front desk woman at Dave’s also told me I was overdue for an oil change after my inspection. It sounded too soon to get one, but I told them to go ahead with it as they are the professionals and I wanted to trust their judgement. I then checked my records and found I didn’t need an oil change for a few thousand miles. I called back asking them to cancel the oil change since my records indicated I didn’t need one. They still charged me almost half the cost of one due to “all the trouble“ they went through of getting the supplies ready for it. The woman at the front desk claimed my sticker on my windshield said I needed one. When my car was returned to me the oil change mileage sticker was no where to be found. Save your time and money and go elsewhere. I will never come back.

I have a lemon car (always breaks, something doesn’t work, overall a sour car!) it wasn’t always a lemon car, but it’s been awhile since I’ve had fun driving my car and feeling like it was reliable. And being a girl can be nerve wracking going into an auto shop when you feel pressured to buy things you don’t know if you actually need. Ive had Daves do work for me in the past and they do a good job. Recently took my car in and they quoted me $3000 for an AC compressor replacement. Got a quote from Wilde Honda Dealer to do the same work for $2000 and another local auto shop quoted me $1200. Never thought an auto shop that Ive done business with for years would give me a higher quote than a dealership.

I have been at Daves twice in the last week spending over $1100. The people are very polite and helpful. The car was repaired properly and timely. The second trip I waited for the car and this is what bothers me. I had window molding replaced and I guess the book says it is in excess of a two hour job. The molding was done in about fifty minutes , which I appreciated. I guess I am bothered by the excess of two hours labor rate. I questioned them on this and was told the book said over two hours and that is what they charge regardless of how long it takes. Had I dropped the car off I would never have known how long it actually took. i understand that they are probably legally correct but morally it just didnt sit well with me. I am not one to argue bills and pay what I am charged. Just something not right about this.

Great experience at a great price. I will need new tires soon but am moving to a warmer climate and Dave was very helpful. Replaced tires on my 86 MB-500SL and work done was acceptable. I was not happy on your stance on not backing the fuel pumps that you replaced for me a few years back for $1500. This car has not been driven much because of my health. Fuel pumps do not go bad after 600 miles regardless of warranty. good-bye

I called and asked if they could change the headlight in my VWBug. They said to come right down to their garage and I went there directly. It took them 15 minutes to change out the headlight and only charged me $22.00. An excellent example of an honest and reasonably price place to take your car to have repairs. Ive been taking my cars to Daves Auto for years. They are always plain about what needs to be done and helpful when I have to choose what to fix on my car.

I Brought my van in to have them look at the brakes. I was given a quote of $1,000 to replace one caliper and 1 rotor. First the quote was nuts if you know anything about brakes. I brought it to another shop and I was informed there was nothing wrong with my brakes other then someone shoved the metal guard into the rotor. Not saying they did it but is a little off.

They take it slowly wonderful care of my car every time Im there. Prices are fair, service is great, the work is high quality, and theyre always willing to work with me on a timing and other things. The fact that they have shop dogs is just icing on the cake. Be sure to meet them while youre there!

Previously I would have recommended this place. However they replaced the gentleman who previously worked the customer service counter with a lady who proudly claimed she is the only person guest are allowed to speak with. Huge red flag when you told you cant speak to a mechanic but her entire attitude sucked. She also informed me the cost to run a diagnostic be test for check engine light would cost 129.00 based of my last work done there I wasnt charged for it. The change in management and customers service makes this repair shop a no go. I strongly advise others to go else where.

I have gone in for oil changes in the past without much problem. On Monday, I took my car in to have the brakes looked at. I called my friend in MN who works on cars up there (has his own shop-25 years experience) to ask what an appropriate price cost would be for the repairs that this auto shop claimed my car needed. Daves quoted me over $1400 for the repairs to be done while the cost of the parts were not even $600. They tried to add extra items onto the bill such as reconditioning capillaries which is not even a real thing. I received a loaner car with rust and did not start smoothly and the car was not in good condition. The manager, Billie Jo talked with my mechanic in MN an could not even explain to him what reconditioning capillaries was because they wanted to add onto my bill. They said its expensive because its a lexus. They just wanted to rip me off and I had someone who was able to tell me what an actual price should me. Billie Jo claimed it was unsafe and dangerous to drive my car and I was able to make it to Minneapolis just fine and had my brakes fully repaired for $560. I will NOT be returning here.

Good communication, bills well itemized, and theyll walk you through any problems to help you understand whats going on. Noone wants to hear bad news about their car, but this is an honest shop, so dont shoot the messenger, my experience has been theyll treat you right. Tried quite a few shops in the area over the years and Daves is the best Ive found so far.

Ive had several interactions with Daves Auto and all have been pleasant and positive. Dave and his team not only have the experience, but are trustworthy and transparent about cost and best next steps. I highly recommend!The very first: a few years ago, I had my car towed there after hours, so I left a message. Dave looked at my car the next day and said he had seen problems like that before with the particular make/model; it wasnt worth fixing. He graciously did not charge me nor did he charge me for the couple days it was there before my dad could pick it up.The most recent: I rolled my fairly new car in, not knowing what was wrong (the gears switched funny and I couldnt go over 35 mph). Since I was a walk-in, Dave honestly said he wasnt sure when hed be able to get to it, to which I said was fine. At the end of the day, he called to let me know mice chewed through my wiring harness and kindly walked me through what to do for checking if my insurance covered it, and what the process would look like if they did. Fortunately, they did, and although I was without a car for a week, Dave took the time to set my expectations, make recommendations, and answer my questions.

I ended up being at the shop a little longer than planned, but the receptionist Billy Jo was amazing! She fully explained what was going on and was very accommodating! And the shop dogs were a plus too :)

Great, fast service! Took my car in for an engine light and inspection for an upcoming road trip. David was very friendly and knowledgeable about the maintenance work needed. Got my car back in time for my road trip and it runs like new. Very pleased!

30% higher for half the work of other reputable shops. Additionally, there was $150 of unauthorized and miscellaneous charges on top of an outrageous hour labor charge for a relatively simple task. Needless to say I will not recommend nor will I be going back there again! This is unfortunate as the work that was authorized and done was done adequately.

Always gets me in quick....always gives me options on what IS important to get fixed and how soon...gave me rides to work or a loaner..I recommend them of course! Family members go there too. I would say price comparable to any other good quality shop.

Insanely over priced with incompetent mechanics. Charged 130 for a diagnosis that couldn’t find anything wrong with the vehicle. An additional 700 after they broke cables while “tuning up” the vehicle. Charged additional labor and parts for their mistake. They didn’t change filters, reset the computer or even undo the battery. Save your money and go to a mechanic that will actually provide services for your payment.Look at the other reviews before you go to Dave’s. All the positive ones are clearly completed by someone who works there and continually posts pictures of their clean waiting area to try and offset the negative reviews. This place shouldn’t even be a 2 star.

UW Madison student and Army Reserve Soldier taken to the cleaners at Dave’s Auto Service“I can’t stand people who hide behind the flag.” were the last words Dave of Dave’s Auto Service had for me when I mentioned I was a retired U.S. Army Combat Veteran of two wars with 30 years of service.I was trying clarify how my son’s initial two estimates for battery and brakes of about $1300 quadrupled to $5424.79 for a 15 year old Volvo Wagon with a rusting rear quarter panel. This is substantially more then the car is worth.At no time was my son properly informed or sent an estimate about any additional costs. Dave claimed a colleague had discussed it over the phone but could not provide me a recording of this.Dave’s business proudly states - “We treat customers like friends & family,” and “WE PURSUE VALUE - makes sense for your long-term vehicle plans, & fits your current finances.”Really? What college student would invest that kind of money in a 15 year old car?We had been discussing looking for a newer used car.When I asked if such a large investment wasn’t unusual Dave answered, “people invest this kind of money in old cars all the time?” In my 57 years and dozens of cars, I have never had such a large bill unless it was an accident and insurance covered it.So it stands - my son a fourth generation UW undergraduate student and Army Reserve Soldier was indeed taken to the cleaners at Dave’s Auto Service.Buyer beware and Happy Veterans Day.

Once more into the breach....Again, the service and professional courtesy was superb. Requested a brake check prior to a trip through the San Juan mts of southern Colorado (probably the steepest roads in the state) since my van weighs about 10,000 lbs. Dave and Paul have been working with me for about a year and a half, completely renewing the vehicle after nearly two decades of neglect and poor maintenance by dealers and others of dubious competence.Result of the checks (over 90 items - many with images and measurements) has been an essentially clean bill of health with the exception of a chip in the windshield. As a side benefit, while checking the brakes, Paul has adjusted them to a level of effectiveness beyond what they had when new. Gotta love it. And - wait for it - the entire checklist of tests and adjustments (not the usual Does it have four wheels? Check.) was less than $50.

They are Really nice and keep you updated with everything... And they let you borrow one of their cars if you need to be somewhere else if its going take a while to fix your car.. Or even offer you rides..so this place is really cool..

Just took my car to the shop to do a tire change, i get off work and go to pick up my car and i get the keys go to the car and find out thats its dead now so i go in and let them know and they come give me a jump telling me someone mustve left the lights on so i drive it home and park the car the next day which is today i get up and have to jump my car and as i drive to work everything shuts down on me and i got jumped and now my battery cant hold a charge either. luckily i could get the car somewhere close and safe but this is just terrible. My car has no check engine lights on or anything nothing was wrong with it.

I was gouged beyond reason!!! I brought my van in for a brake repair...expensive, however, I just needed it done. Then brought it back for a hesitation in the gas pedal...6000$ dollars later I still needed a new vehicle. Oddly, the owner offered to “take the van off my hands” this place is criminal!I’m a solo mother and needed a car! Be warned, this place is crooked!

Dave and his team did a fantastic job. I called the night before to get my truck in for repair. Dave told me to bring it in tomorrow and he would fix it. I dropped it off and Dave had it fixed before close that day. Communication was clear, price quoted was the price I paid. I would highly recommend this service center!

I cant recommend Daves Auto Body enough. All the places Ive been to in the past has charged me ridiculous amounts of money for a routine inspection. Daves Auto Body was professional, knowledgeable and courteous. They didnt charge me a dime and were forthcoming and honest about the state of my car. They also didnt push me into adding on extra services like many other shops have. I am definitely coming back for my future car needs, and I highly recommend you do too.Also, I would recommend booking your appointment before you need it, as they were completely booked for a week before my appointment.

Dont expect reliable communication from this place especially if you are on a time crunch. I Had a wheel bearing issue while trying to get home driving across country and they took the car in and I am paying extra big bucks to have parts overnighted in so I can get back on the road. Been stuck in a hotel for two nights waiting and I called them this morning and they said they would have me on the road as soon as the parts got here this morning and that Paul had the car apart and everything ready to go to just new parts on and od be set to go. Checked out of the hotel and made reservations for my next stop and when I got here they said he was putting the parts on now and would have me on the road shortly. Waiting still and when I asked to see what the ETA was to get done, the only dufuss here said everyone went to lunch for an hour. They knew I have to make it to a destination to get to my next stop and gave NO warning or update. Another person is waiting and needs to get to work done and have to get back to work and this place knew it and when he noticed something he came in and I went back and looked with him to see that the WHOLE SHOP shut down with people waiting and went to lunch. WTF??? They told this guy to come down at 11! FOR WHAT? Im seeing my car on the ground and looks like they havent even started on it. Liars when they said they were working on it. Dont expect truth and DO expect to pay through the nose! Finally when they came back from lunch...crickets. I asked and they wouldnt just go ask the mechanic for an ETA or update. I finally went around to the garage bay and asked him myself to try and get an idea when I can get back on the road. When I asked the useless girl at the desk, she said they cant bother the mechanics blah blah blah. More lies because they dont want to just make the customer happy. My bill is only a mere $2000 and Im sure they will be more than happy to take my money without giving reasonable service communication.

Daves is the best. I had a transmission issue last year and paid to have it fixed. Dave gave me a free warranty on the work and about 2 months later, had the same problem. He fixed the issue without any hassle, and not only that, did it while I was away on vacation. By the time I returned, my truck was fixed and ready to pick up. Friendly honest, quality service at great prices. Daves is the place to go.

I am real happy with the service I got from them. He was honest with me from the beginning, and finished 2 days before he said the repair would be done. He told me he would have it done on Wednesday and he had it finished on Monday. He also gave me some really good advice about future repairs that I will be needing on my car and the timing on that so I can manage my budget.

Apart from his more than fair pricing (he even added one of his coupons, which I had no idea existed), he gave us a loaner car while he VERY (one day) quickly finished some work (timing belt and 60k tuning) . This is a professional and very courteous service facility. I have never had a problem with any thing. Having been an ASE Master Certified Mechanic which can no longer work on vehicles, this is the only place I trust. Not even where I worked before. I get the service I ask for, and do the things I need to be done. I am told what could, should be done for maintenance which vehicle needs. Never has been a high pressure sales. This is the place to trust for service.

Ive been a customer of Daves for years, but will never go back after this absolute nightmare. *Avoid him at all costs - youve been warned*. I take my car in to have some repairs done to the wheel bearings and tie rods, get an oil change, and check a problem with the power steering. I paid just short of $1,700 and opted not to get the power steering fixed because my car is getting older and Ill just deal with that until I replace it. Well, months go by and I start to have some misfirings which causes the car to jerk a bit when driving. I took it in to Dave and thats when the nightmare began. The spark plugs and an engine coil and a number of other things under the hood supposedly need to be replaced. How did they miss all of these problems on their first inspection? I said I would take it somewhere else to get the repairs done. He ACTUALLY said fine, I dont want you as a customer anyways, I wouldnt fix it for you anyways because when I find an issue you dont want to pay to do the work (referring to not having him fix the power steering) - who would outright treat their long-term customer like that?? On top of that, after only inspecting it and not doing any work, the car was a disaster driving it off their lot yet again, SIGNIFICANTLY worse for having only been in his possession for 2 days and no work being done to the car... Im currently collecting evidence of his sabotage with the help of another mechanic and will pursue legal action if I can.

Cars waterpump ceased up & was an hour away from home. Called Daves & Jeff, service manager, arranged towing & said for us to stay at place we were at so we could be more comfortable while repair was done. Then they came & picked us up to retrieve our car! They were awesome! Service is above & beyond in what is expected in todays world!! Thank you!!

I have finally found an honest mechanic. No inflated prices, everything done on time. I will never go anywhere else!!

I appreciated being able to wait in a clean spacious waiting room while my oil was changed in a very timely fashion. Ill be back to this friendly place!

Horrible services. I brought my custom built car in for repair since it would not start. They quoted me roughly $2.5k. Thats with a new harness and troubleshooting. Then later came a new ECU rebuild and Coil Packs. When I finally came to pick up my car (3 months later), the car ran like crap and the car had a hard time starting. I shelled out $4k into this repair. I was willing to pay that much if my car at least ran properly they way it did before it stopped starting. But they messed it up. The car runs like crap and does not even start up properly. The owner said it needs tuning because it is running too rich. Well, how do you even tune a car that doesnt run properly. I said I was going to do a charge back for the payments and he is now holding onto my car and wants cash. The thing is that my payments have already posted and he has my money. I called the cops and the said it was a civil matter and couldnt do much. I would stay away from this place at all cost. Now I am stuck with no car, down $4k, and have to find a lawyer to file a suit against them to get my car back. Beware people!!!

Dave is a great guy, and Ive only had great service from him and his team. He is reasonably priced, and has never tried to get me to fix anything that didnt need fixing. I trust him!

Highly recommend them! I called early on a Monday morning and they fit me in immediately and even gave me a ride back to work after I dropped my car off. They gave me an estimate within a few hours and work was done the same day.

Weve used Daves auto repair for the past year or so and we have found him to be a trustworthy mechanic (so hard to find these days!). He does very good work, hes very stright forward and he doesnt hide anything. On top of that, hes really friendly, very timely and a hard worker.

This was my first time at Dave Auto Service. My mom gave me a coupon many months ago and told me to go as she had a great experience going prior. My brother actually found Daves first and liked the service they did and referred them to my parents. I called and made a same day appt that worked for me. Unfortunately I was late because the address on my iPhone was wrong, so I called Dave to get the new address and helped him clear up the wrong addresses on 2 different internet spots. I got a much needed oil change. My head lights were also both out and I had a light I meant to replace and never did, so they used it and only charged me for one light. I was very happy with the customer service and the work on my car and thought it was affordable. Daves is our new family auto mechanic. 3 happy customers in our family means for lots of future business and referrals from us! :)
