I was having issues with my engine not starting. I called and was able to get an appointment that day. They quickly diagnosed the problem and it wasnt the starter like I thought it was, But it was the battery.Knowing what I was coming in with they had already ordered a battery just in case for my car and within 45 minutes of me bringing the car in I was driving away and it starts.The associates that I worked with could not have been more thorough and also wonderful at describing the issues. Im quite pleased.

Clausen Automotive literally saved the day! It was suggested to me to check with Cameron at Clausen Automotive for a self inflicted problem I had with a 2020 Rav4 hybrid and they were incredible. Naturally I started at the Toyota Dealer thinking they had a proprietary grip on the hybrid aspect of the vehicle and the complicated lithium batteries and their operation. All the dealer wanted to do was replace everything and charge an amount that was close to a 1/3 of the cost of the car. Clausen explained the challenges, jumped right on it and fixed the problems in both a timely and very cost effective manner. Candidly, the dealer simply wanted to paint by #s where as Clausen Automotive are true problem solvers and cost effective problem solvers at that! Highly recommend Clausen Automotive.

Clausen’s is the best! Don’t take your Prius anywhere else’s. I just bought a new (used) 2nd generation Prius and brought it it for inspection and oil change. They quickly identified a few items that needed to be addressed and those to keep an eye on for the future. Pricing was more than fair and all the staff was a pleasure to work with. Service completed promptly and alignment on my 2015 Honda Fit seems to be well done a week or so In one of the few able to book and complete my allignment within the tight schedule I had was able to get it fixed and get up north to snowmobile on time

Helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. Full disclosure, I have not used Clausen Automotive (yet). I called to ask questions about our Toyota Prius v Gen 3 that was recently diagnosed by another shop with a head gasket failure. I talked to Cory and asked him details about that repair and he was very knowledgeable about the repair and generous with his time and insight. I wish I would have called Clausen Automotive 2 years ago for a pre-purchase inspection before we bought this car. Based on that call I would not hesitate to try them as our mechanic.

I have gone to a number of auto places and havent been satisfied with servise. I went to clausens once because a different shop and they installed a cv axle which fell out while driving down 51. I was right next to clausen so I pulled in. I havent gone anywhere else since! I have never had any issues here. They also repaired my car after valvoline botched an oil change.

Did a good job very fast only thing is it’s still making a whining noise after changing the power steering line said it’s supposed to go away after the oil runs through but it’s been about 3 days

Too expensive. I gave them two stars because they did give me a loaner car which was nice and the guy on the phone was supper nice. However the things I really cared about-price and getting my car to work were not nice. Over charged went to a near by mechanic on Milwaukee street who will tell you what exactly you need and work with you on price.

I was really impressed with the courteousness, professionalism, and dedication of several staff members when my out-of-town aunt needed emergency repairs. Although she had to keep calling to get updates, when it became clear that the repair could not be made in a day (contrary to the estimate), one of the mechanics offered to stay late to help get the job done. When this became infeasible, she was able to get set up with a free loaner car (Prius) to use for several days, even though it meant her driving it over 75 miles home, then back.The repair worked great, and Ill be sure to recommend Clausen to my family and friends.

We just relocated to Madison from Orlando and our my wifes van had the check engine light come on and a very noticeable knock. I got online trying to figure out who to take it to knowing it was going to be a major repair. Spoke with Cory about the issue and even though it was 3 days before Christmas he said he would get it in to look at and as I figured there was valve damage. They called 2 days after Christmas to say the van was finished and it has run perfectly since. I would highly recommend Clausen Automotive to anyone in need of a repair of just an oil change.

Ive been taking my 03 Suzuki Aerio to Clausen for a little over three years. Their service is always professional and complete. Even though Suzuki no longer markets their cars in the US, they always get the needed parts quickly at reasonable prices. Labor charges are about the same as other independent shops in the area and seem fair to me.I receive a detailed printed work report after service. The shop also provides a generous warranty on their work and parts.Loaners are provided at with the agreement that the customer refills the gas tank to the level at which it was when he get the car. Most are older cars but all run well.Friendly and informed staff willing to explain the work needed and work done.Very satisfied.

Clausen Automotive has kept my aging Prius on the road and in great repair. I cant thank them enough for their kindness, patience and expertise. They have fixed a sensor, repaired the hybrid battery, replaced the serpentine belt and the 12 volt battery, as well as servicing the cooling system, hoses and all. My car is always in mint shape when I reclaim it. Finally, I want to put in a word for all the folks who work at the shop. You wont find better people to help you with your vehicle!

This place overcharged me for simply looking at why my cars engine wouldnt start. I only asked them to check the engine but still left with a $135 bill for only labor. They spent over an hour on what the gentleman at the service desk called complementary checks yet I still had to pay for the hours worth of work. Please dont go to such a trashy auto shop that is so cheap they rip off every customer that walks thru the door.

I love how knowledgeable Clausen’s staff is about hybrid vehicles! They are always friendly and accommodating, helping me keep my Prius operating in top notch condition as I go about my busy schedule! They are always willing to give honest advice about repairs. That helps me make better decisions about when a repair will fit into my budget best!

TOTALLY TRIEDTO SCAM ME. Had them inspect the emergency brake on my truck because its a manual after inspection they said it needed a new lever kit which this type of ebrake doesnt have. They tried to charge me $600+ to adjust the ebrake cable that was all it needed. Among other things they told me were wrong that also turned out to be false. Never going here again

Long story short, dont go.While moving to the Madison area, my car broke down half way from Appleton, WI due to engine malfunction. When we took it to them, instead of running a diagnostic on the vehicle, they assumed that the issue was with the first thing they looked at, which was the catalytic converters. A month after the repair, the car had once again returned to the same broken state that it was in before. So we took it in a second time. They performed the exact same routine, and once again charged $1200. The third time, we took the car in and had all 3 catalytic converters, and they still did not do an engine diagnostic, but charged us $2000 this time. It has now been 2 months since the last repair, and about 200 miles driven and I now have rattling sounds, an intake manifold leak, and once again my catalytic converters are clogging up my engine.These people are totally unprofessional. Do not risk your time or your money.

Figured out my problem on my saturn in like 2 hours and let me know what was going on and did it pretty quickly very friendly staff

Rip Off. Charged me $80.00 more for after market parts than the Nissan Dealer would have for OEM parts to replace wheel bearing on my 2004 Nissan, they also conjured up a whole long list ($1500.) of things to fix that Nissan said werent necessary, will never of back and will spread this news among friends and social media where ever I can. My recommendation, stay away from Clausen.

They call themselves the hybrid shop. Sure, theyll work on your hybrid. Theyll also cut off and remove part of your vehicle without asking, strip your oil filter retainer making it impossible to every remove the filter in the future and destroy your dashboard to replace a filter that drops in behind the glove box.I very strongly urge you to avoid these clowns!

All I did was call but they answered my questions

My ebrake was failing, I had my car roll away from its parking spot. So I took it here to get it diagnosed. They claimed my rear calipers were shot and needed to be replaced, costing about a grand for calipers, pads, etc. The diagnosis made some sense, as if the calipers were shot they couldnt engage and therefore my ebrake would act as if it isnt working. I couldnt however afford a grand for the repair, so took it to my parents to do it ourselves. We get the parts and replace one of the calipers (all the while wondering what was wrong with then in the first place, they didnt look bad), and sure enough, the ebrake itself does not engage the calipers! It will do it about 50% of the time, still trying to figure that out. But basically, they were going to steal me out of a grand for service that wasnt necessary, as we dont see any major issues with the calipers, and it also wouldnt have fixed my problem! So glad I didnt waste my time with them

Also known to them as 96 Ford Exployer 5.0L the team has won my trust. I bought this vehicle in 2001 and maintained it in Littleton CO by the best. Moving to Madison - found the same total dedication to keeping it on the road. Cameron explains specifically what is the situation, is honest if it changes once they get right in there. Gives you the cost up front and it doesnt flucuate. GYR & FRST are within walking distance for me but will go the extra couple miles for Clausen! They have interesting loaners too: one time I got the pimp mobile - New Yorker. Today I am soccer mom with mini van.
