Love this place. So many other places have a poor English song selection. Not Max-- tons of songs. They also use an app (healsonic) that makes finding and choosing songs a lot easier and more convenient than other places (no Korean menus to navigate lol). Their equipment is a little old, but to me its all about the music selection, which this place excels at.

This place have the easiest way to pick and select your music. There’s an app we download and literally you can pick which language to pick and also by song or artist. ALSOOOOO BETO from this place is the best guy ever. Literally a GOAT, nice service and didn’t kick us out 37 min after they close. We didn’t even know! Super chill, we are definitely coming back.

Max Karaoke Studio has been my go to karaoke lounge because of their affordable prices and convenience. Parking in LA is always difficult, but if you sing your heart out here, they will validate your ticket for 3 hours!I admit they aren’t the most high end Karaoke lounge out there, and the rooms are very basic. But with prices under $10 a person (tax not included) with no drink minimum, I think it’s a great location for those looking to have a fun night out with a couple, or a lot of friends. They have the regular rooms that are more affordable but also a bit more grungy, with beat up cushions. Or the VIP Rooms, which come with a strobe light and nicer furniture. They don’t have the option to link your phone to the internet and stream YouTube videos, but you can download the healsonic app to connect to their system and get an idea of what songs they have available. You can even set up your playlist ahead of time so that you can get right to singing!Nice to see that they survived the rona!

This place is incredibly sketchy. The staff was super rude and unwelcoming. Ive never felt so bullied as a customer in my life. We were basically the only guests in the building and they tried to charge us $30 extra for going 3 minutes over our time and for bringing in outside beverages. Our group had come in with some trash to throw away from a bar we had just left - and the host didnt say anything to us before we went in about that being an issue. In fact, he quoted us what our price would be saying verbatim $45 for an hour plus tax which would make it $53 when youre done. Then he tried to make us pay $80, which were successfully able to argue back down to $53, but he yelled at us and tried to make us feel like we were in the wrong.Afterwards this same staff member said that he messed up the credit card payment and needed me to send him the money personally because he was too afraid to tell his boss. He called me for three days straight and on the 4th of July! Incredibly unprofessional and sketchy AF. It seems like the management is toxic which creates a hostile environment for both customers & employees. 10/10 would NOT recommend.

Okay look, I really want to put 5 stars after my first go, but the mic was a bit busted and the room was BEAT (holes in the ceiling, yall?) Very fun! We enjoyed happy hour. It was great to find a place to take my teenager with me. It was an affordable evening of fun. Customer service was great. Song selection was fantastic and the system/Healsonic was easy to use and familiar since our favorite karaoke joint back home uses it too. Next time were visiting LA area, well be back.

The place is a little dirty and rundown, but spacious and has a good selection of songs. The trick is to download the healsonic app and use that to queue music. Otherwise you have to search through books that may not have the latest hits. I could find every song I wanted, both English and Japanese, and queuing was super easy. Located conveniently by some great restaurants too.

This place is great for a hangout with a couple of friends. What I liked:• The karaoke studio is conveniently located in a mall where there is an array of Japanese restaurants, dessert places, shops and a supermarket.• One of the best karaoke places in LA in terms of price as prices are surprinsingly cheap compared to others.• They update their song lists regularly (yay!) And they have songs of different languages from english, chinese, japanese, cantonese, etc.• Sound quality is great. What could be improved:• Video quality of the TVs and the karaoke videos could be better.• Ambience could be improved as some couches were torn, the interior of the place is plain, etc.Overall, this is an ideal and great place for a fun time with friends if youre looking for a relatively cheap karaoke place.

If you are looking for a private room Karaoke joint with awesome music selection, Max is the only real option. The setting is serviceable. They arent trying to attract any group of people other than the kind that enjoy to belt out some tunes. Byob is an option at a minimal cost.If you plan on dropping by on a weekend, be sure to call ahead to reserve a spot. It gets busy so reserve more time than you think you will want, because wont be able to add time at the end as they will probably already have a booking following your time slot. Great Spanish music selection, extensive and constantly updated English music selection and of course plenty of Japanese tunes .

Employee working there lost our reservation, then claimed that the person who took down our reservation over the phone ahead of time was the manager. As a result he then explained that this created a poor communication within their business. I still give them 2 stars because they didnt overcharge us after seating even though we didnt stay for the time we had originally scheduled. However, it was a very frustrating ordeal. Had they never lost our reservation it would have been a fun night especially since they allow you to bring in your own drinks, with proof of ID of course.

I give it four stars because it feels like your going into a dark alley, and then paying the guy a fee to sing your heart out (not to mention the newest and greatest selection) , and smuggling your food in a brown bag inside (byof). Restroom is definitely sketchy, one for men n women. Parking is validated up front. Their selections of songs are so up to date but they dont have background videos just lyrics which makes me think its oddly weird. Overall, a great place to get the karaoke itch out of you.

I wish I could give this company less stars. They are thieves. We were a group of 9, we were there for only 2 hours, they were incredibly rude the entire time and then charged us $412. The guy was super sketchy when it came to check out time and never gave me a receipt. I only realized this when I checked my bank statement. Absolutely ridiculous. Our bill should have been less than half of that. Absolute garbage. DO NOT GO HERE.

Very good middle of the road karaoke bar. People are friendly, rooms are clean and music is up to date. Came here for my friends bday. They charged us 160 dollars for 12 people. The cashier, a Latino male, made it seem like he was doing us a favor by not charging us because supposedly we had brought it in alcohol. A friend of mine left early and gave him 50 dollars since she brought 4 people. She had told the cashier guy to deduct it from my total charge. The cashier never deducted the 50 dollars. My friend came back after we called her, keep in my mind that she was already at the parking lot about to leave. She was furious that this unprofessional cashier at the front desk denied the 50 dollars she gave him. All he could say was “ what 50 dollars?”, with bad attitude toward us. The original bill was only supposed to be about 100-110. Essentially the man stole 100 dollars from us. I’m pretty sure he scammed us by making it seem like we weren’t aware of what he was doing. DO NOT COME HERE! They’ll just overcharge you for any little thing and then make it seem they’re doing you a favor by not charging you the “full amount”. I’m almost certain they kept the extra money and declared it as Tips amongst themselves ( their coworkers).

This was my first time at Karaoke ever in Los Angeles and it was great. Was there for a friends birthday and everyone had a good time. They dont serve beer or liquor but do sell sodas and ice. A little expensive and they have a minimum you need to spend to use a credit card, which I think is illegal. They should just charge a fee. I had to spend $10 to buy $2.50 worth of ice.

Max is our go-to karaoke joint. Always call to make a rez just in case.PARKING: Plaza lot - free with validation. You can also get additional validated hours from the supermarket on the first floor.SERVICE: The guys up front are super casual and clearly do not care what you are doing inside the room. You pay an extra fee to BYOB which is great for those who are a bit mic shy - thankfully I am not one of those people. Song selection is decent, but the technology is still punch in numbers to queue up- no iPads here.MISC:-Check out their happy hour option if you can get here early afternoon!-BYOB: Supermarket in the plaza has a good selection if you forgot to pick some up.-Fills up fast on weekend nights. Definitely make a reservation.

I really wanted to give this place a higher score but the acoustics are a little lacking-- hard to hear yourself if volume isnt just right. Too easy to hear your neighbors; I could hear everybody from the restroom and... wasnt always a good sound haha. Plus the fact that they dont serve drinks or food is a little off-putting too. Prices for happy-hour are great though! Song lists are pretty current but felt like the music (If you know the song) didnt sync up perfectly with the lyrics. Felt a little fast, but that couldve been us singing too slow lol.

Karaoke boxes dont need to be super swank - its more a place to be with your friends and once you cut loose, no ones thinking about the room. I guess thats my way of say Max isnt very nice, the wear and tear is becoming more apparent over time, but Ive never really faulted a k-box for not being that nice.Song selection is super, $1/pp food/drink fee is very reasonable, but the cost was a little high for a small group, especially on a weeknight with no one else there. Went to this place at 1/7/16. Okay, I went here with my friends to CELEBRATE an early birthday. The attendant or rude man at the front desk, was asking for IDs (State IDs) which none of us had because we were younger than 18. Slowly started to give attitude, when we didnt have a credit or debit card either. Because we were all planning to pay with CASH. He then took us to the last room, where I might add wasnt the greatest room in the world. The walls were ripped (in some parts), the couch looked dirty, the number pad for the Karaoke machine was old, and the ceilings had uneven coloring due to a hole patched up (looking like a sore thumb in a sea of blue). I was in a horrible mood, because this rude attendant wasnt very polite or professional to the group of 5 I was in. Yes, we had money. We had shopped at Daiso, The marketplace, and went to the Aracade in the same galleria that the Karaoke place was. The selection of songs were not the greatest. The song selection is quite outdated and the new songs are only quite a few. Why I chose this Karaoke place, was because of its vast song selections. My friend and I were very excited to sing Kpop songs which they HAD on their website. And, while look through the 3 books of songs, sadly there was none. Half way through our 2 hours in that small room, my friend decided to go ask if there was a way to play Kpop songs. He responded by saying theres another machine for that, and left it at that. When 2 hours came, he knocked on our window signaling for us to leave. When we went out, we saw a group of 3 who were probably in their 20s paying with CASH. And he smiled brightly at them giving them the attention and kindness he didnt show us. When we came, he told us our total was $55. We paid him the cash and looked at me in the eye and said, Can you get the mics from the room. After that I was glad to get out of there and head to the Village Plaza, to eat at Kula Sushi (I recommend that place, kind staff) and shop at Anime Jungle. SO LESSON OF THE DAY, Highschoolers and young adults. Do NOT go to this place to have fun, because with rude staff members like him, I wont be surprised if you threw a mic at his face. Anyways, i HIGHLY do not recommend. (Quite, knowledgeable when it comes to Little Tokyo, because Ive been there many times to eat and shop. Never in my many times of going have I met an rude and grumpy staff member like him.
