Finding My Dream Job During A Worldwide PandemicI saw the most perfect job position posted on Indeed by 80Twenty that aligned with everything I wanted with my career. I applied immediately, and checked for the next few days, if my application had been viewed. Knowing how competitive Los Angeles is, not to mention how much more it is now during a pandemic, I searched for the job posting on LinkedIn, hoping I could and a direct message to the assigned recruiter. At the time the job wasnt posted and there were multiple recruiters that worked with 80Twenty. I went through each profile, seeing if maybe they were separated by industry but I couldnt really tell.So I finally sent a LinkedIn direct message to the CEO of 80Twenty, Annika Brytnse. I sat with anticipation, over-analyzing if I had overstepped, if she would even respond, etc. Ive worked with some amazing recruiters before, but often its difficult to get one to respond back due to the overwhelming response of candidates they usually get. To my surprise, she replied back quickly, providing me an email introduction to Larissa Gerlach, Head of Recruitment Services.My experience with Larissa was absolutely amazing. I was able to speak candidly with her, and she communicated with me at every step. She even took additional time out of her day, to let me practice a Go-To-Market presentation, I had created on my own, hoping it would help give me an edge.
