Great place to get your computer fixed fast and for a decent price.

BYOD very professional, good expertise, and people skills. I brought in my seagate 2 tb hdd when it was chirping and generally unresponsive and they walked my through what the possible problems and outcomes could be. In the end they were able to recover my most important files without damaging the data for further more extensive (and expensive!!) recovery efforts

All my family photos were saved by BYOD from my failed hard drive from 10 years ago. I have been saving years of photos and I finally had a chance to do some archiving work when my hard drive died. I went to three different places in West LA and nobody could do it, or at least do it for a reasonable price... One place wanted to charge me $1500. Anyway I just kept on looking around and while I have to drive all the way closer to downtown LA is was worth the trip. They were so accommodating and they gave me a good deal. It still was not cheap by any stretch of imagination but it was enough for me to make a whole sense of it all. I gave the go signal, and after a week they called in to tell me that all my archives were recovered. I am so thankful to these guys at BYOD and they truly deserve all the accolades that they got! My entire portfolio of photos was stored in my old hard drive from way back when I was majoring in Photography at USC. For some reason it just stopped working one day and clearly I was panicking. There were some beeping sounds when I start to plug it in my computer. I was having an anxiety attack and I started searching for a place that could fix this issue. I probably spent close to three hours until I finally settled for BYOD. After I brought it to them, they gave me some feedback after the following day. I was so happy, when they told me that the photos can be recovered. It took another two days and I didnt mind the cost because those were really important files! These guys are absolutely the best! These guys at BYOD did an unbelievable job in recovering and fixing my hard drive. My Lacie hard drive which i loved because of the cool orange bumper design went bonkers over the holidays and all my pictures from all of my travels were saved there. I just could not let go of them as they were very memorable for me and my family. I looked around and waited until the holiday rush passed and found BYOD which was reasonable close to my house in Larchmont. I talked to the tech person and they walked me through the whole process which included the time and price quote. It took quite a while to be honest but I guess the wait was worth it. I was in great shock when I plugged in my G-Drive external drive and I could not access it from my macbook air! All my outsourced work was saved in that drive because my mac has very limited storage capacity. I was about to have a panic attack! Noel from BYOD was quick to message me back through Yelp messenger and I visited him same day! I stopped by his office with my external hard drive issue and Noel was very clear and prompt about what steps/services we could take to help recover a formatted external hard drive. Noel did a diagnostic test to see what could be recovered, he kept me informed with phone calls and updated me on what steps he was doing to get some read on my hard drive . I was able to come to his office once he got some saved files and he gave me the decision of viewing the saved files and letting me choose if I wish to proceed with full recovery . Email and text updates regarding your Mac problems is provided during the time that your machine is getting fixed. Nobody does this type of work anymore. Very good customer service! They are very knowledgeable and give you several options so you can make an informed decision. I ended up not proceeding with my laptop repair because it was not going to be practical based on their advice but they managed to get all of my data off of the mac that just died on me. Noel is an absolute genius magician when it comes to fixing devices and recovering data. My husband and I have brought multiple phones and laptops to him with various issues and he has not disappointed us once. Furthermore, he’s an incredibly trustworthy person who operates his business with serious integrity- we first discovered BYOD after we’d been turned away by apple’s Genius Bar because they couldn’t replace a laptop battery they didn’t have in stock- had it been in stock the service alone would have cost us 180$. We then found Noel, who charged us 20$, the price of the battery, and nothing else because he said the task/labour was literally as simple as changing the battery in a flashlight. Noel is so brilliant we don’t feel the need to purchase insurance for our phones because BYOD is more reliable and affordable than any insurance plan. Genuinely I have brought multiple cases to Noel that others have deemed hopeless and he always figures out a way.. We don’t even live in LA anymore but I still won’t bring my broken devices anywhere else, and have been saving something to bring to Noel for our next visit! Because yeah I just can’t conceive how I could ever put my devices in better, fairer hands.

Our company had a DROBO hard drive and one day our in house IT guy could not get it work. My boss was livid so as his assistant I had to take the brunt of his anger. Very efficient service from this place! They fixed my iPhone X and recovered all my photos even if I dropped it in the pool during a crazy night out with friends. I thought that my phone would be fried but they fixed it so that I can at least get my photos from it. Luckily I also had insurance so I just sent it back so I got a new phone as a replacement. Those were two years worth of pictures that I never backed up. Lesson learned, move on! But thanks BYOD for teaching me a valuable lesson without the consequences!

I used to bring my work computers to another shop in Vermont but they seem to have waned in terms of their usual customer service. I went there three times last week and they were always closed and open at 11am. So I searched for a new go-to place and found BYOD. They were actually just a block away from my office and it proved to be super convenient! They also gave a great service although the prices were just slightly higher but I didnt mind because the service and professionalism was exceptional! If you want to get a no frills no hassle service for your computer then this is the place to go. They provide the most friendly and attentive service that I have know in Los Angeles. My gaming computer had some issues with the solid state drive and they helped me fix it or get the pictures from it that i really wanted. I went to several places in glendale and silverlake but they could not do it. I had to go all the way to koreatown to find these guys but it was truly worth the drive. they recovered everything and gave me a new hard drive and set me up pretty neatly. awesome work guys!

My iPhone started acting up and I brought it to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store and they just told me to buy a new phone, arghh! I had no choice but the problem was I hadnt backed up my photos for the past two years!! So they recommend this place called BYOD! I gave it a shot and wondered what this place could do that Apple couldnt! After talking to the BYOD tech person, I decided to give it a go! The cost was a little bit high but there would be not payment upfront. After a few days, they called me and said that all my photos had been recovered! How is that possible?!? I didnt dare ask and just paid them outright as long as I got what I needed! I guess they had figured out something that Apple couldnt and they are more than within their right to charge the amount that they feel is reasonable for their efforts! I rarely leave comments, but I felt compelled to give high marks to Noel. My hard drive had crashed and I was freaking out a little bit over losing a few files that I never backed up (yes, yes I know, I should have known better). I called around and inquired about data retrieval, but the prices of these places were astronomical, and the confidence in their ability to help seemed vague and a bit sketchy, respectively. I took a chance after speaking with Noel over the phone, and brought my computer in to BYOD to see what he could do. There were no shady deals, no payment upfront to see if MAYBE the data could be recovered. He does it on a tier system, and the explained prices of each tier were perfectly reasonable, or at the very least they made sense given the various workloads. I specifically appreciated that had he not been able to cultivate my seemingly lost data, there would have been no charge. He was just a straightforward, honest guy. He was communicative throughout the process (only a few days), and in the end recovered all of my data. On a personal level, he’s an intelligent/friendly guy that made me feel like I was in good hands. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone having issues similar to mine.

Amazing service! My macbook pro was completely soaked in diet coke and I had already purchased a new one but I badly needed all my files for a test that I was going to take in a few weeks. I like to support local businesses like BYOD because they provide a more personalized experience compared to the big stores. I had my Lenovo machine fixed and the service here is really something to rave about. They give you updates about your computer and explain the process in detail so you dont think you are getting ripped off. I really dont mind paying extra to get an extra special service.

My PC was infected with a virus, took it in they delivered on time and for a reasonable price. Fixed it perfectly and installed a new anti-virus program. I am super happy with these gentle geeks, they were freagin awesome and very nice to boot!

My two year old boy has been fixated with my iphone for the past few months now. Unfortunately i left it with him one day and he tried to put in my password too many times and the phone now says it is disabled. As I am completely paranoid with any type of saving information into the cloud, i did not have a back up of my photos on my phone. So I went to the apple store and they recommended me to BYOD. Went in with my Dell Vostro 3560 because it wont start. Noel told me it could be the power Jack or the motherboard but he wouldnt charge me if replacing the power Jack didnt work. Well it turned out that the motherboard was fried, too but that I didnt get my laptop up and running since it would be better to get a new one than spend money on this. But what I liked was Noel didnt charge me a single cent for the effort that he put in. All other shops charge a diagnostic fee whether they can fix your system or not! I would go again if needed.

Very convenient to where I live in K town! They are really generous with their time in trying to explain your problem and how it can be prevented. I had a hard drive with all my school stuff and I wasnt able to access it from my mac and they diagnosed for free for me. The way to recover my data took longer than I thought but it was well worth the wait. According to them i had a severe problem so I figured it was not gonna take as fast as I thought. I was ignorant about all the tech stuff about hard drives but they were patient to explain the problem to me. My 12 year old Seagate hard drive went lights out last year and I didnt know that those can be fixed until my cousin told me that there is a place that fixes them. I decided to visit them and they managed to recover and transfer all of my files to another seagate drive that I got from staples. I was soooo happy. I accidentally left my iPhone 5s on top of my car and drove off with it. After a few blocks, I realized what just happened and drove back to the gas station where it happened. Luckily, I managed to find the phone in the sidewalk but with the glass completely shattered. So I thought of getting a new phone. My sister then told me about this place where she got her iPhone fixed on the cheap. So I called them up and got an appointment and they managed to replace the shattered glass for under a hundred bucks. I was thinking of spending another 500-600 for a new phone but this place saved me a fortune.Theyre in a small office space in Korea Town so they go by word of mouth. I hope that someday they get a bigger office because with the service that they provide they can surely help more people with their phone problems if they are more visible to the public. On the other hand, maybe thats why they can charge a reasonable price because they dont have to pay for a huge rent. I took some wedding photos of my cousins wedding last weekend and for some reason the CF card somehow got corrupted while I was transferring some files to my mac. I tried to buy some of those data recovery softwares online but they did not work. All I got was corrupted files. So I looked around and I found BYOD here in Koreatown. Can you believe it? It was two blocks from where I lived. I didnt know they existed even. Anyway I scheduled an appointment and within a day they were able to recover those precious pics from her wedding. HI was recently in a bind when my 2017 macbook pro all of sudden crashed. I accidentally uplugged my Western Digital My Passport from my surface pro laptop while I was transferring files into it. Now I know that its actually not a good thing to do that. After a few days, whenever I plug it back in, the hard drive will not show up and will say something like I need to format it again. I searched around for someone to help me to fix my drive or to recover my documents and I found BYOD from Google. They gave me a reasonable quote compared to a few ones that Ive called around and so I went with them. And I am glad I did. Dropped off my macbook with a broken retina screen and in an hour, i got it back just like new. Prices were very reasonable. What is amazing really is the turnaround time. Apple store said it would take 3-4 business days to get it replaced but BYOD did it in a very short period of time. I snapped my USB flash drive whilst it was connected to my laptop and I had some super important spreadsheets saved on them. I searched around for a place that provided data extraction on usb drives and didnt even know if they actually existed. They do and they also do a pretty damn good job of doing it. Ill be more careful next time. I dont mind paying the fee because the files were extremely valuable to me. Hundreds of hours of work would have been lost. Thank god these guys at BYOD helped me out. We had a school project that was due in two weeks and i had a lot of autocad and in design files in my hard drive when it suddenly stop working in the middle of my work. aargh! i frantically searched for a computer place near USC and i found these guys. They helped me out and recovered all my files in a matter of days. i still had 5 days to finish the project though. i gladly paid them what they asked for and also paid for an expedited fee. i dont mind at all as i would have had to do redo those projects if they didnt do the job. thank God they did. thanks guys.

I took my wifes hard drive to ByoD since had some issues with connecting to our iMac at home. It turns out that the drive has gone bad. The tech guy at ByoD gave a thorough explanation of our options but we initially decided that it was not worth the price. Two months later we found out that we did have some valuable photos of our two kids so we decided to do it anyway. It was totally worth the cost although it was more than what I budgeted for. All our kids photos from their early childhood days were fully restored thanks to ByoD! We are totally satisfied with their service and will recommend them to our friends here in Silverlake! I recently broke my Mac Book pro lcd screen and knew the price was going to be expensive. After shopping around, BYOD had the best price. When the piece for my Mac arrived it was fixed within th next day. Not only is the service fast but he is very trustworthy. Hopefully I dont brake anything else, but if I do Im going here.

Forget about the long line in apple store. Save your money and precious time with BYOD computer services. I was about to put my old iphone in the trash bin and swipe my card for a new phone. But thanks to Noel, he did a miraculous job at cost of a venti coffee. So I came back for my ipad screen replacement, then I told my friends... I think I will keep telling everyone how great the service was.

The rain storm last week proved disastrous for me as there were several power surges in my neighborhood. Unfortunately, my hard drive was connected to my iMac and when the power went off so did my hard drive. As the power went back, I could no longer access my files from 3 years of grad school paperworks. Searched online for a way to save my files and was lucky enough to find BYOD. They were upfront with the cost ( which was the most affordable i could find ) and had a very quick turnaround. Truly saved the day for a struggling USC student! I just got a new macbook air last Christmas and my Yorkie jumped at it and spilled some coffee on the keyboard a week later. So I went to the Apple store and the snotty Tech guys there told me that they will not cover liquid damage. They woudnt even bother to look at it and said that all my files will be deleted if I decided to trade it in for a new one. I really didnt mind about the money buy all my files are important. Stupidly enough, I did not have any back up.Two weeks later I go to my accountant to get my taxes done and told her that all my scanned receipts are in my laptop and its all gone. Luckily, she recommended me to this place where they do some data recovery services. At first, I was kinda hesitant because it was a small office and not your typical computer shop with all the bells and whistles. But my accountant said that she had been using this tech guy for years and she swears by them. If you cannot trust your accountant, who can you trust? So I listened to her and lo and behold, one or maybe two days after I brought it in, Mr. Trusted Tech Guy called me and said that he recovered all of my files and save it all on a new hard drive. Now if I listened to the established Apple store employee / genius bar tech person where would I be now? I wonder how many people they have given the same spiel? Not knowing that it is actually possible to get back all your data for a very decent price ( which of course is not that important if your life depends on it ). Thank god for this place! That is why I am compelled to write about it to let other people know about my experience. To Mr. Trusted Tech Guy at BYOD Computer Services, thank you and may your tribe increase !!!

My macbook pro suddenly had a blinking folder image when i started it up and i was so worried because the finals is just two weeks away. i have all my study material in my laptop and this is my last semester in USC. I really need those documents sooooo badly. Lo and behold i found BYOD Computers in Yelp and they already had more 100+ five stars for data recovery and computer fixes so i decided to give them a go. It was really such a pleasant transaction. no hassle, no bs. They diagnosed the problem and gave an accurate description of the problem and how much and how long it would take. I was really more concerned with the how long but they also gave a very good price for a quick turnaround. I highly recommend BYOD for their data recovery skills and mostly for their super great customer service !! Thank you guys you saved my semester!

Got an ipad mini from my boyfriend last christmas and i really loved it. Binged on netflix movies every night since I got it. Sadly, I dropped it two nights ago as i fell asleep while watching. I searched for a place to fix the shattered glass and found BYOD. Service was fast and price was reasonable. No hassle transaction and the owner was very pleasant and friendly.
