Since the building was sold a couple years ago, theres been 4 managers, two were fired (one for illegally pushing asbestos work without permits and safety protocols). The city shut down construction for over a year because of the illegal work. Construction has finally resumed, so be aware youll have to put up with a lot of noise and hassle.There was an apartment fire two days ago, in one of the newly renovated units, a week after someone moved in.The latest manager refuses to hear complaints from the tenants and is dismissive, rude, and argumentative.She is often not in the office, or there long past normal business hours. (Which is weird to me).Notices of work are sporadic, or not at all.Theres a lot of chaos, and not much avenue to do anything about it.I strongly suggest anyone wanting to move here do their homework and calculate the benefits with the drawbacks.What I do like is the neighborhood and neighbors, jacuzzi and pool. Its a fun area to live in.

This management company attempted to increase the rent on an apartment my family applied for - AFTER having already approved our application - by $700 a month! We went back and forth with them for weeks, the whole while they insisted we had simply misunderstood their offer. As if I wasnt taking screenshots of the entire process from the start.

I love this apartment building! I have lived here for over a year now. The staff have been super helpful and accommodating with anything we need, especially Bobby & Lonnie. They also keep us informed on what is going on in the building. Highly recommend living here.

Tamarind Terrace is great! Location, amenities, cleanliness, and appliances are all great. What makes this place amazing is the staff! Emmanuel is far and away the best building manager Ive ever had. He responds to emails quickly, is very knowledgeable, knows every resident, and genuinely cares of the apartment living experience. When my dog walker never showed up one day, Emmanuel offered to walk my dog himself! Lonnie, who does the maintenance for the building is great too. Hes quick to fix things and always keeps treats in his pocket for my pup!

What a great place to live! Not to mention the Hollywood history as Kenneth Bianchi, one of the hillside stranglers, killed a chick in a vacant apartment in here in 1978! How cool is that?

Tamarind Terrace apts is a hidden gem. Moved here 3 years ago and still counting my blessings. Walking distance to a spread of great restaurants and bars (right behind Birds and UCB). Accessible to all major freeways and a management team that cares about developing long lasting tenants. Secured parking, a pool and pet friendly. Hard to beat! our apt won’t be up for grabs anytime soon :) however, excited about all the updates being applied to all the units. Thumbs up!!

Hunting down the perfect apartment is not an easy task and I have lived at Tamarind Terrace since the 1980s. Our building has had many owners come and go and have not really left a long lasting impression on me, but I must say that the new management, Avenue 5 and most importantly the new manager Emanuel have elevated this place I have called home for many many years and I must give credit where it is overdue. I do not typically write reviews, but wanted to shine light in the right places with this incredible team of people that most recently took over this often overlooked gem in Frankilin Village. If you wanting a place to call home and wanting a team that truly cares for their tenants best interest, than swing by this complex. They genuinely care for the tenants and are doing some great things to make it better and I am excited to be witness to all these much needed upgrades coming. Thank you.
