My wife and I just moved to the area and found a great community at CrossFit Lincoln. We moved here from out of state and have both been members of CrossFit boxes (gyms) since 2012. We have seen lots of different CrossFit communities through the years. The coaching, flow, and programing are well thought out and put together. Class size is great. And we have felt welcomed by the members since day #1. If you are looking for a positive community, solid instruction, and well structured classes in your fitness journey, this is the place to be.

This is a truly amazing gym!! The community is what makes this place so great, people are kind and encouraging. And the programing is first rate, it will totally kick you butt!People who say there is political discrimination here clearly havent actually had memberships at the gym. It is a very safe and accepting place, regardless of your political beliefs.

Great group of staff members, super accommodating and receptive to me dropping in during their Friday night lights group open workout. I even left my mighty Jayhawk bottle there in enemy territory, after I talked a little smack and it wasn’t vandalized! If I’m ever back in town it will continue to be my drop-in spot.

Highly recommend CFL! I was lucky to be a member during a four month long clinical and they were nothing but welcoming during my time there! I loved how everyone was so encouraging no matter their skill level and the coaches took the time to help develop each person in the class. CrossFit Lincoln is the definition of what a CrossFit gym should be.

CrossFit Lincoln is THE gym to go to in Lincoln. The programming is the best Ive ever had (and we receive correspondence from the staff regarding the purpose and benefit of the programming), the environment is unreal, the coaches are knowledgeable, the community is unmatched, and the facility is fantastic and clean. My wife and I love being members here and it is the highlight of our day to come and be involved in a greater community. A large, open space. Absolutely recommend.

My wife and I have dropped into this gym on several occasions over the last 6 years and have always felt so welcome. Beautiful gym, great coaching and programming, and always encouraging. I have been around Phil Kniep for many years and you will not find a more humble and kind human being. I would never consider going anywhere else when I’m in Lincoln. Check them out, you won’t be disappointed!

I never felt welcomed by actual staff at this place and two years ago the owner Phil refused to judge me because I wasn’t a “member of the gym” and told me I had to find my own judge for one workout of the open in which I was just dropping in for and told me I would have to pay the full $100 if I was planning on doing more open workouts there.... not only does he discriminate against your belief system but also apparently your sex. Maybe he is a bit afraid of women? Not sure, but his ego is large enough to run anyone out of that gym.

For being progressive Democrats seems pretty petty to take our country back 60 years because you cant play nice with people with different believes. Should rename the gym to Antifa-Fit. I consider myself democratic, what your gym is doing is disgusting, unprofessional, and bigoted.

Drop in here for sure! CFL is the ideal place to get a WOD in. The coaches, members, and atmosphere is very welcoming and generous. The facility itself is huge, and youll find everything you need. The bad reviews of this establishment seemed to have stemmed from 2 previous members who didnt reflect the same attitude as the rest of the gym. The idea that this place would discriminate based on anything is laughable.

I have only had the chance of going to CrossFit Lincoln a couple of times and I can say they have been memorable. Generally, I am a quiet person, especially in a new gym around people I don’t know. However, at CFL, they made me feel like apart of the family the moment I walked in. Not once did the members/coaches make me feel uncomfortable or like I didn’t belong. Instead, some of the more well known members took me under their wing, showed me around and even partnered with me on the partner workout that day. When everything was said and done, everyone that worked out went around and told each other good job. I cannot thank the CFL community enough for the positive experience that I had and making this quiet person come out of her shell. I can’t wait to go back see everyone again.

Hands down my favorite CrossFit gym! My husband and I have always felt welcome here from our first day when we moved here from Nevada. Coming to CFL actually makes me excited about working out. Exercise never used to be something I enjoyed previously. Now I find myself feeling a little lost on days when I cant make it into the gym! I also lost about 30 pounds doing CFL programming and learning about nutrition. CFL is a community of people who care for each other, and now it is where some of my best friends are.

I wasnt familiar with Crossfit (or working out very much in general) so didnt know what to expect. Nice facility with a decent amount of space, but the true highlight was the down to earth, knowledgeable, approachable coaches. That was over 18 months ago and if you come in now, youre sure to find the same thing (plus I might be there so stop by and say hi!)

I dropped in this last Saturday and was not expecting what I got. Based on certain things that went down there recently, I was expecting a lot of fragile snowflakes and that I couldnt be myself without getting kicked out. Sorry to say I went in with a bad attitude about the gym, but my mind was changed by the reception I received. The coach was very personable but also quite professional once he got into coaching myself and the other clients through a workout. I saw him take extra time here and there with others who werent familiar with the specific exercise we were doing and he seemed to genuinely care about everybody there. After the workout, I asked questions about their beliefs and such, and he was very forthright and clear, while still being quite affable. I am going to try Crossfit back home in Dallas specifically because of my experience at this gym, and I would recommend that others do the same. Didnt think I was a Crossfit fan but now Im not so sure.

I cant support CFL. Discrimination is never acceptable. CFLs hypocrisy is unbelievable and a perfect example of what is seriously wrong in todays world.Believe in your purpose, dont be afraid to stand for what you believe , but if CFL doesnt share the same view..... well, you will be kicked out.In regards to your response......Seriously!? protect our community as if someone was actually threatened or in danger? Anyone that is actually aware of the situation and knows the individual involved, knows that this was never and would never be the case. Your blanket response to all the recent outrage regarding your discriminatory treatment of individuals whos opinions are different than your own is just lazy showing you dont care. I guess the good news is that you dont really need a gym to get fit and if you want one there are plenty around to choose from. Get better at life CFL if appears you have plenty of improving to do.

CrossFit Lincoln is a pretty standard CrossFit box and anyone reading a majority of the comments and reviews on the space will see that there is plenty of drama that comes along with being a member at CFL.Coaching is sub-par at best since some of the more seasoned coaches have moved on and the current staff outside of a few are often not in the same room during the WOD or paying attention to athletes. There is one coach who is great and genuinely cares, the others not so much, despite what some of these positive reviews say.Should you be interested in becoming a better athlete, you can certainly do this at CFL, but it will cost you extra on top of your monthly fee. That’s right, want to get better on gymnastics? CFL can help for an additional fee. How about basic CrossFit movements that should be taught in class? Yep, you guessed it an additional fee and the list of programming that CFL nickels and dimes it’s members goes on.As for the drama being outlined by a number of the one star reviews.... I can say that certain people were asked to leave due to past drama and the lack of communication coming from the gym ownership group. Rather than being upfront with long-standing members the owners chose to let their hate and personal vendettas fester and thus banned a group of people in a very unprofessional manner. As for all the positive reviews, there are positives to the gym but many of the 5 star reviews on this page that have been written in the past few weeks are completely reactionary and done so at the request of the owners who are in damage control mode at this point, so please keep that in mind when reading the positive reviews. If you are planning on joining, be careful not to say anything that someone could take out of context and if you’re unable to get in with the athletes who “exemplify” the blind following that is requested by the owners then you will more than likely find yourself on the outside looking in of this “great community”.

**EDIT**They are trying to do damage control by commenting the same generic comment on every 1 star review, which actually makes them just look pathetic and desperate. The truth is that their response is bull. They kick the people out that they feel are negative to the environment, when really they kick people out because they dont like them and have a personal vendetta against. I was never in an altercation with anyone. I didnt like some people there, but I never made a scene about it. I ignored them, like adults do. The truth is, not everyone is going to get along, and thats ok. Certain people are going to vibe with people and not with others. But you can work cohesively around one another. You cant just kick someone out because they dont hang out and like the people you do. Its childish and cowardly. I worked out by myself most days and got in and out. I was treated negatively by Phil Kniep and his cronies, but of course they can treat people negatively and make me uncomfortable and disrespect me without them being kicked out. I guess there is no standard unless its a double standard. The truth is, Phil Kniep and Aaron Purkeypile admitted they have been trying to push me out for 2-3 years. Thats professional! Maybe try acting like an adult and have a conversation instead of letting your hatred for me fester inside you this long. After all, if you are going to claim to be a Christian, Phil, you should maybe pick up a bible and read about forgiveness and holding grudges. But you are all talk and no walk, youve proven that time and time again.1 star is too generous. I was recently kicked out and given ZERO explanation by the owner Phillip Kniep. He actually kicked me out by texting my husband and couldn’t even handle it professionally. His willingness to meet with my husband and another member, who coincidently got kicked out over their political beliefs and “gossip”, but unwillingness to meet with me clearly shows his sexist beliefs and chauvinistic behavior. If you like being discriminated against or feeling unwelcomed, this is the gym for you. Also, programming is sub-par at best. If you want to get better at oly lifting, gymnastics or cardio, you must pay on top of your monthly membership anywhere from $30-$75 (something most gyms do all inclusively). Oh, and they only clean once a week tops. The gym is filthy and the bathrooms are grotesque.

My wife and I were in town visiting family and decided to drop in. We joined for the Saturday team WOD and loved it!!!
