Hands-down the best. This member experiences fantastic staff interaction, and the facility offers everything you need! We enjoy the pools regularly for both swimming lessons and recreation, and the summer camp counselors are THE BEST! Were grateful to be part of the Cooper Y Family!

I like the Cooper Y because they have a nice gym with state of the art equipment. They also have swimming pools and basketball courts. There is a library and Walmart nearby which is convenient. Its a scenic area with a bike trail and lots of trees and green grass and a baseball field.

Child watch still hasnt resumed normal hours and there arent as many classes offered as there were pre-covid. Maybe short staffed? Child activity schedules like dance and private swim lessons arent always reliable for scheduling, weve had instructors show up late or not at all. What they do have, Im happy with. I just wish there was more like before. The membership still costs as much as it did before. So were paying the same for less.

This location is great. It looks new, its always clean, and it is very open. I like how there is two workout locations so it doesnt ever feel too crowded. The staff is great, very friendly, and helpful. I do wish they would match the heavier dumbbells though. They arent the same size even though they are the same weight if that makes any sense. Also, they only have one 85 lb dumbbell so you cant use two of them for a workout. Otherwise, awesome place to workout.

Fairly well maintained and a large variety of age ranges that visit here. The workout area is pretty nice with lightly outdated, although in good condition machinery. Huge array of treadmills and a great place for anyone to start exercising or try to get back into shape. Would recommend to anyone nearby.

I’m specifically commenting about the lifeguards. I’ve complained before and will again! I’ve seen the lifeguards talking to other guards, staff and friends without paying attention to the kids in the water! This is totally unacceptable! Although as parents we are responsible for our kids’ safety, the lifeguards also have a responsibility! They need to be trained better and understand how important their job is for the safety and well being of the swimmers!

Tried to go for a swim with my 6 year old and was told rudely that the pool was for members only-we are members of a different ymca. When mentioned that we had come many times before to use the pool I was informed that I must of come in the summer and should of called to check—BUT I DID! Call that morning to confirm that it was ok. So thanks staff of the Mcoll ymca for giving a 20 meltdown from my 6 year to me and I will remember that if we choose to donate to the Y again. Is it really a big deal to let a 6 year old go for a swim?

YMCA pools are great. The gyms are there for all ages because of the youth gym and main gym. The ymca has a great game room for kids and WiFi for all. They have summer camps for your kids. YMCA even has a rock climbing wall. The YMCA is fun for all so I recommend going as soon as possible!

The largest YMCA by membership and for good reason! Good facilities for exercise, an outdoor pool and picking up some basketball games. Some nice family events like TurkeyTrot and Silent Auction held throughout the year. The YMCA also has programs for families like Childwatch and Summer camps. true service to the community.

They cut benefits for their staff and lost a lot of great people as a result. Be especially wary of signing up for preschool. They will not keep your kid safe.

Review №46

The Cooper Y is within minutes of our neighborhood and provides many different options that appeal to our family - whether its group fitness classes, swimming lessons, seasonal events (like the Halloween Party, or Santa visits), or personal workouts. Weve been members for years and love how weve gotten to know staff and members alike. The on-site childcare is a bonus as well since its hard to squeeze in a workout when you have a family. Plus their wellness center is now open until 11pm on certain days, which is great!

I must begin by expressing my disgust and distain for the Cooper YMCAS’ aquatics team.First off, I had placed my child in their swimming lessons to build the skills nescessary to be a successful swimmer. My child was in the Level 2 swimming class. I watched as he was instructed on the different covered topics. I can say he was learning but was not ready or skilled enough by the ending of the class to move up to the Level 3 group. I was very satisfied with their recommendation to not pass him.Second, I again signed him up for Level 2 swimming group. Again I watched his understanding of the tasks asked of him during this groups sesson he was showing positive strides in potentially passing. Enough strides that during the half way mark he was given a thumbs up from the instructor that he would pass. I was estatic for him. Yet when it came time to testing a brand new instructor who had not taught his class once was the one doing the final exam and failed him for the second time! Sighting more developement of the skills nessacary to pass.Thirdly, I again signed him up for swimming lessons in group 2. However this time I decided not to watch the lessons.I was again given the thumbs up during the half way point that he would pass because he was completing all of the tasks required of him by one of his instructors. Again testing time came but the instructor who gave me the green light was not the one who tested him. The other instructor failed him for the third time!If I could provide any reasonable advice for anyone looking to have the YMCA at Cooper teach your child to swim I would highly recommend going else where.I have invested a bunch of money into these lessons for my child not to be given all of the instructions needed to pass each lesson let alone the same one three times. Plus placing so many children in each lesson that one instructor could not possiblely teach all of the requirements to all of the children in the class.Save your money! Make sure you are going to get what you are paying for. Do not book through Cooper Y aquatics.

The yoga class with Suzi was annoying and played music you would not expect to hear, it just seemed like downward dog over and over. The employees start backwashing the hot tub at 845 PM, so the water is lukewarm from that time on...and they are unapologetic, saying, We just do what we are told. A hot tub should be hot! Or they should say the hot tub closes at 845PM.

If I could give zero stars I would. To start off : My son and his Cub Scout pack are here for a Lock-In tonight at this location only because the Fallbrook YMCA wasn’t available. Our Leaders were told that we could get into the building at 9:45 (that was even a stretch to get the Director to do that) due to having such a large amount of kids and adults & we only have the pool from 10:00pm - 12:00am; so we needed some time to get everyone’s beds and whatnot set up in the gym & get changed for the pool. Well we were let in at 9:45 only to come into a dark gym with just enough light to kind of see where we were going to put our stuff down 😒😒 An employee then proceeded to come down in the gym and tell us we needed to exit the gym into the commons area because there was a “miscommunication” with the Director who already approved us to come in at 9:45 and that we weren’t even supposed to be in the building yet and we couldn’t be in the gym until the light was on due to safety reasons. Ok, I get that she has to do that, but the miscommunication is unbelievably ridiculous tonight. We were then told that they wouldn’t get any of the ping pong paddles, pool table equipment and nothing else out for the kids to play with which we understood that it would be taken out. All of the employees, with the exception of one really nice girl who directed us to where the like 10 towels were for the pool, looked like it was just a huge inconvenience to be here. Normally the gym is a “quiet” area for the boys and everyone else with a movie playing, and we got told that the lights would not be shut off until the boys are sleeping. What good is that going to do when this is a lock-in and the boys & other kids are going to be up ALL NIGHT??!?!!!? The WiFi was shut off which makes absolutely no sense. Our Pack spent a ridiculous amount of money that our Boys work so hard to raise by selling popcorn (which is the ONLY fundraiser the Council approves the boys to do during the year, so they work their tails off to raise as much money as they can for their activities for the year), for horrible customer service, a lack of anything for the kids to do (we did bring a few games for the kids to do, but usually the facility provides general activities for them to do), rude staff and absolutely horrible miscommunication! We will NOT be coming back again!

Living in Lincoln, I could say this is the tied for the best gym in the city (Other two are horrible). First off, the Staff is really nice especially a couple in particular who made the Membership process easy for me and are friendly every time I walk in. Only problem is the negative thing about the gym, you cant find many staff members around because they are usually fooling around or socializing. The basketball gym doesnt have good size which is bad, and on weekends they cut half of it off for birthday parties. So the size is awful however, out of the other 3 YMCAs in Lincoln, this gym is much nicer and newer. Cant complain much about the Weight Room. Fairly new, could improve but good for the most part. Gets crowded sometimes. Pool is very nice also. Overall its a great YMCA, tied for the best in Lincoln with Fallbrook. Nice Staff, decent equipment. Cant give it a 3 though as it isnt perfect in my opinion.

I walked into this facility and walked out within ten minutes. The upstairs workout area is dark and ultimately depressing, not to mention incredibly cramped. The machines were pretty outdated. You can hear the noise from the basketball court echoing in every area...well actually more like every noise everywhere. Overall, this place felt like a warehouse. Would not reccomend. Considering the Copple Family YMCA is ten minutes away and a much better environment, this YMCA’s setup really needs some revisitation.

At the front desk Amy was very rude and disrespectful to myself and my family. She refused to let us use a single guest pass stating that I cannot use one if I am not over 19. I am 22 years old, as she could see on the screen, and then proceeded to follow us around the gym as we play basketball, and kicked out my 10 year old sister saying she had to sit outside of the gym because she was not old enough. She had also given me a false name when I asked for the boss of the establishment which I had to find on my own through the website. Extremely upset with the blasphemous disrespect at a family establishment.
