After purchasing a home that had previously been a rental, I called A to Z to have our gas fireplace serviced. Gideon called to let me know he had finished the job before ours early and was wondering if he could come before the scheduled time. I missed the call, called him back but he already had called another customer and was on the way to their house. No biggie! He showed up promptly after that job. Gideon was very knowledgeable and thorough. We had someone else come in a do some electrical work before the fireplace service and come to find out (from yet another person we had to have come in to fix their work) they did not connect something correctly. Gideon made sure to connect the fireplace to a different source to ensure it was working properly. We were very pleased with his troubleshooting and refusal to leave a job incomplete. I had my fireplace chimney inspected and cleaned today. I just bought the house 2 months ago. Josh arrived on time, did a very thorough inspection from inside and examined the chimney from the roof. I watched him clean the chimney - very thorough. He then inspected the entire chimney using a video camera. When he finished he documented his findings and recommendations. This company was recommended by my realtor and Im very happy to recommend the company to anyone with a fireplace.

We lucked out when we called A to Z. We needed covers for the gas fireplace chimney roof vents on our recently purchased home. Josh inspected my fireplace and chimney. He thoroughly explained all the issues and took photo images to help me understand. He explained the difference between the safety issues and the non safety issues. He was courteous to wear shoe coverings and protective fabric over the carpeting. Josh is very intelligent and courteous. He also took the time to put my mini schnauzer at ease while he was working. He provided a very legible written estimate for the work that needs to be completed and left the worksite free of debris and a little nicer shape than when he arrived. I would call on A to Z again.

We recently scheduled an appointment to obtain an estimate to repair our chimney. Tim Artyushevskiy was the rep assigned to the job. We found him to be very articulate, friendly, polite, knowledgeable, conscientious and confidant. He did a thorough job of inspecting the chimney and was careful to keep the surrounding area clean. We got our estimate before he left and also ordered a screen door with a better product that is more durable and will not get broken around the handle like the one we now have.

He constantly checked out with us if one of his procedures was OK with us. He asked questions. He covered the area around the free standing stove with tarps to protect our floor. We have lived here for 28 years and have never had this done. He had to move items out of the way in order to inspect and clean the vent from the outside.I have no idea what he could have done in order to do a better job. He was the best! I am writing to update my previously posted review. Following my prior posting, I received a call from the owner indicating poor communication from the receptionist noting that they certainly had more to offer to help solve my leaky fireplace issue. Both the owner and the tech came to my house today, reinspected the roof and flashing around the chimney as well as their prior work, crawled into the attic next to the fireplace to look for water damage and ultimately proceeded to do a water test ultimately finding a leak coming through the decorative rock on the outside of the fireplace. After a prolonged time, I finally have an answer as to the cause of the leak! I am going to update my review to 4 stars (short of 5 only because of the initial problems outlined below). I will say that the owner was very professional, spoke to me multiple times by phone as I was at work and, as promised, found the issue. I would recommend this business and recommend if you are having issues to speak with the owner as he is committed to getting it right.We have a leak in our fireplace and every time it rains, we have water dripping on top of the firebox. Our initial impression was good with Gideon exploring the issue and determining what he thought caused the problem (a faulty cap). He sought a replacement cap but reported that he was unable to find one to match the original size so he advised that they fabricate a rain shield for the cap. Well, this rainy season came and the leak continued and upon visual inspection, the rain shield blew off because it wasn’t attached with screws the first time. I called and Gideon came out and reattached the shield but this obviously wasn’t the problem as the leak persisted for the rainy season. By this time, I had spent over $600 without any resolution. I called last week hoping they would help look further into the issue but the reply I got from the receptionist was that Gideon didn’t feel there was any more they could offer. I was told they would check with the owner and get back to me but it has now been over a week and no return call. They have an entire section on their website claiming they spend more time fixing leaky chimneys than anything else but apparently if the issue involves doing anything more than the bare minimum, they aren’t interested. Save your money and time and find someone else.

Our chimney had been leaking for 2 winters before we found A to Z. Others had patched the cap with no success. A to Z did outstanding work. Josh is very personable and shows photos of everything he finds wrong with the chimney. Best of all, right after the repairs we got a winter storm and for the first time in 2 years, no leaks at all!We also had them clean our dryer vent -- the laundry room is noticeably cooler and the clothes are drying 25% more quickly!HIghly recommended! We will use them for our pellet stove cleaning from now on

Aaron from A to Z Chimney Services was great. We had A to Z come out to clean and inspect the gas insert in our fireplace. We knew it was dirty and needed to be cleaned but we had no idea how dirty it was until Aaron came out and inspected and cleaned it. Now it looks like we could actually reach out and touch the fire. After having our chimney cleaned last year we were still experiencing lots of smoke entering our house at night. We are particularly sensitive to the smoke since our son has lung disease (cystic fibrosis). We were recommended A to Z Chimney Services and I am so glad we had Aaron out today to look at our system. He was very personable and reliable (high fives to the kiddos, arrived in the window they promised). Aaron looked over our chimney from inside, outside and top to bottom (and even our other gas insert/chimney). After a 45 min review he sat down at our dining table to explain what was going on in detail. Our system is working just fine but he took the time to draw and explain why we are getting smoke in our house and how/what we can do to help mitigate the smoke (apparently it has a lot to do with our house design/HVAC/drafts/pressures). I look forward to putting these tricks into practice and hope we can keep using our fireplace. He also gave us information on how to better maintain our system and some other considerations we need to address. Overall I am very satisfied with our experience and knowledge weve gained. Once there he took time to prepare the fire place area with tarps and completed the repairs on time. After moving into our recently purchased home, our gas fireplace called it quits (typical right?). A few years ago, A to Z Chimney Service serviced and repaired my gas fireplace. I was satisfied with the service and called on them again recently because my 17-year-old gas fireplace broke down from another failed part. The technician, Gideon inspected the fireplace and the roof because he saw water stains and rust. He idenified and replaced the faulty, old part so the fireplace is operational again. To address and prevent further water damage, Gideon also identified that a chase pan needed to replace the chimneys decorative shroud. He removed the large chimney shroud and installed the chase pan on the roof today during a hard downpour. Despite todays rain, the timing was good because more heavy rain is expected over the next 10 days. It took a couple of trips to install the parts because they had to be ordered but Im happy and impressed with how technically knowledgable, efficient in troubleshooting, professional, and courteous Gideon is. We have lived in our home in Sun City Lincoln Hills for 11 years and this is our 12th winter using our natural gas fireplace. This year when we turned it on it started smelling bad. Turns out gas fireplaces and chimneys do need to be cleaned. I did a Google and found A to Z chimney sweep. The owner Aaron Zambrana was my technical advisor today and what an education I got. He made my gas fireplace working the best it ever has plus got a blower fan working I didnt even know I had. Next up my clothes dryer and it had never been cleaned out from the roof vent down to the dryer itself. If you have a gas fireplace and or a clothes dryer you need to get this done at least once every three years. Use A to Z and tell them Uncle Mike told you to call.
