Randall is the man! A common trend I’ve noticed with barbers is to just do what the customer mentions. Personally, I value the opinions of the professionals more than my own. Randall pointed out how something was done previously (at a different shop) that maybe wasn’t conducive to the look I was after. I confirmed it and he told me what we were going to do to fix it. Dude knows his stuff and will help you get the desired results!

Ive been coming here for years. Randalls always done great work. I can honestly say that the guys at Straight Edge have made me feel less like a customer and more like family.

If you’re living within a 30 minute drive of downtown Lincoln, and are’t getting your hair (or beard) cleaned up at The Straight Edge, you’re making a huge mistake.Over 6 years ago, as a freshman at UNL from MN, a new friend recommended going to see Zach to get cleaned up. I would’ve never guessed the impact that recommendation would’ve had on my life.My first cut was when when it was a one man shop, and I’ve been fortunate enough to see it grow over the years. First, it was Randall, then Caleb joined shortly after. When adding two new employees, I was worried it would ruin the “feel” of the place, but the additions only made the best barber shop in Lincoln that much better. From BS-ing about the Huskers, fantasy football, poker games, and everything between, the “one-man shop” turned from a business to a family.A few years ago, I made the mistake of visiting a hair salon instead of the Straight Edge for about 4 months. While the salon did a great job, it did not compete with the atmosphere or the familiarity of seeing Zach at the shop. When calling to make an appointment for the first time in months, I was embarrassed, worried that Zach would hold a grudge for leaving him. However, walking in and being greeted like an old friend who just enjoyed a glass or two of bourbon while watching the Huskers beat Miami in OT (‘14) the night before made me realize that I was back “home.”I haven’t mentioned this to him directly, but Zach will be invited to my future wedding. The man knows more about me than my own family. He’s always there to provide a perfect haircut with nothing more than “give me the the usual” and is more than happy to lend an ear during the best of times, and the worst of times.It’s no secret that we all go through the ups and downs of life, yet Zach, Randall, and Caleb are at the shop, ready to welcome you with a positive attitude Tuesday through Saturday. If you just got a raise, aced a test, had a great date, became a father, etc. they’ll be there for you to celebrate. If you lost a family member, went through a breakup, were laid-off, flunked a quiz, etc. they’ll be there to listen and provide sound advice.Honestly, I don’t know how they do it, but I couldn’t be more thankful for the 3-4 week routine appointments as I believe it’s what keeps me somewhat “sane.” Zach is my unofficial therapist, and as I’m in the process of moving away from the Lincoln area, he and the Straight Edge shop may be my hardest goodbye.If possible, I’d give this place a 10/5. I will recall myself growing as a man here, I will recall myself grieving here, I will remember and miss this place more than just about anywhere in the city.Do yourself a favor and book an appointment at the Straight Edge. It may change your life far more than you’d ever realize.

These guys all do an excellent job - I tried a few different shops when I moved to town and Zach was the first one to really get my haircut right and work with me when I want to change my style a bit. Theyre always booked so make sure to call ahead. These days theyre also working hard to keep the shop clean and their clients safe from COVID-19.

Any one of these guys will do an awesome job. Youll get a great cut, great conversations, and be able to listen to some fantastic music, all at an affordable price. Theres a reason these guys are always booked solid, and its because they are hands down the best barber shop in town (probably the state as well)

Caleb gave the best haircut and beard shape/trim Ive ever had. When I got home my wife was even like I really like how they did your hair and beard, the layers are great. If she approves, I approve! They are a little pricey and only take cash and are always booked but it was worth it. You get what you pay for. If you get in and like their work, I recommend to schedule the next appointment while youre there.

Randall gives great haircuts and has good politics. Zach and Caleb are awesome as well, I just dont talk to them as much because Randalls chair has been exiled to a corner. Prices are very reasonable so theres lots of room to tip well.

I have been going to Zach now for a few years to have my beard trimmed. The shop is always clean and comfortable. He is great about squeezing me in and working around my schedule. Although the shop is always busy, I have never had a long wait time. Zach is also a great person to talk to and seems to remember even small details of conversations we have had in the past. I can only speak to his beard trimming ability personally, but he is second to none. I can not recommend him enough.

These guys care about their customers. They worked through an emergency to make sure my hair was cut for my wedding the next day! Thats how you get a customer for life.

My barber there is Caleb but all of the guys there are fun to talk to and Ive always gotten a good cut or trim on my hair and beard.

These guys give a good haircut, but they are a bit pricey. Ive been in Lincoln for 3 years and every year they have raised their prices. When I first went there they charged $17, the next year $19, and now $21. Im wondering if their prices will continue to increase every year! There are other barbers in town who give just as good of haircut for less money. Check out 360 Fades, Captains Chair, and Clipper Barber Shop.

I moved to Lincoln from out of state last year and was looking for some barbers to replace my previous barber. I dont doubt that these guys are good people but I asked for scissor over comb on the sides instead of electric clippers and got a weird look from both; one explained that electric clippers give a better fade; however, for my hair type my previous barber had been cutting my hair with scissors only for a long time. Nonetheless, I agreed that the barber could use electric clippers. Anyways, the cut wasnt what I expected or wanted. The shop is always booked way in advance so plan accordingly and they dont accept card (cash only). Long story short: I scheduled an early morning appointment weeks in advance at like 0700 on a work day and arrived on time, even before they were open, and asked for a haircut which was responded with this way is typically better (paraphrasing) and lastly was told they dont accept card (had to go across the street to pay an ATM fee of $3.00 since it wasnt my bank) and return with money in hand. If youre accustomed to this then by all means for anyone else I travel to Omaha now for a haircut and straight edge shave. Gentlemen first, or is it customer first?! Cheers...

Ive been traveling an hour each way to get my haircut here for years. I had been getting my haircut by Gene (the original owner) since I was a child and when I heard of his passing I had trepidation of who would take over his successful legacy.All reservations were out the window when I met Zach. Not only was he kind and affable, but he listened to my grooming expectations and exceeded them wildly.The same home-like atmosphere that makes a good barber shop great is abundant at Straight Edge and you would be doing yourself a favor to stop in.

Straight Edge is everything you would want in a barber shop, extremely friendly easy to talk to guys who also to a fantastic job cutting your hair. You might have to schedule your appointment about a week in advance because they are always extremely busy, my guess is because they give the best haircut in town.

They deserve way more than 5 stars, these guys are great company, give a sharp and precise haircut, and I also wouldn’t let anyone else touch my beard.

Poor service over the phone. I was told there was not an open slot to cut anyones hair for at least another week.They must not need any new customers, or new business.They should be rated the busiest barber shop in the country.Not an accommodating business.

Ive been getting my hair cut from these guys for about 6 months now. Their ability to cut hair impresses me everytime I show up. Tell them what youd like done, theyll do a better job than what you had pictured in your head.Not to mention the atmosphere is very relaxed. Sometimes I forget I showed up to get my haircut. By far the best barbers in lincoln, ne. Youd be a fool to get your haircut anywhere else.
