An excellent tree service company! Steve and his team removed some trees and wood chipped some large brush piles. I was very impressed with their work, the timeliness, and value. They worked quickly, were communicative about the job, and the area was left in a tidy condition. I also noticed that Steve frequently checked on his team members to make sure they were pacing themselves and staying hydrated- which I appreciated seeing. Before and after photos attached.

Wow! If I could only give 10 stars! I am so impressed with the professionalism of this company! I had been trying to get quotes for weeks from other companies and no one even responded. I was looking on the NextDoor app and saw a recommendation from a neighbor. When I contacted SK they responded immediately. They came out the next day - on a Friday night - and took care of a dead tree that was bordering 2 other properties. I was so afraid that tree was going to fall and do some major damage to other properties. I am so impressed and happy and relieved. The price was great too. I highly recommend!

Steve is the owner and a great guy. He came out and gave us a quote which was very reasonable!!! He told us a time he would be here and was VERY PROMPT! He didnt disappoint with cleanup either. We decided to keep our wood from the tree he cut down. Steve and the guys did a great job stacking the wood nice a neat and cleaned up all of the brush and branches afterwards. Steve and his employees just finished trimming several of our trees in our backyard. Steve was professional, reliable and very easy to work with. He kept in communication with us to make sure all the trees were to our satisfaction. They removed all our outside valuables so they didnt get damaged and even replaced them when they were done! Steve and team did the work that was promised and then added more without charging us! All the branches and debris were chipped and taken away. The clean up was awesome as well. We had a nasty dead tree hanging over our childrens play area. We thought about doing it ourselves but SK Tree Service was recommended by a friend. Called up SK Tree Service, Steve was very responsive and professional. He did not push for more than what we wanted, which was to just have the tree cut down. He gave us a quote and proof of insurance before the work was to be completed. They did a great job getting the tree down without harming the play area and trees nearby. Very good local business. Highly recommend SK Tree Service!

Excellent service! They took on a big job for us, and we were very impressed. The crew was extremely disciplined and efficient and explained everything to us clearly and thoroughly (from assessment to strategy to follow up information). Their work was absolutely meticulous - the areas where they worked look pristine afterwards, with not single branch, bit of shavings, or even an errant leaf left behind. Pricing was more than fair. Very efficient and reasonable prices, and able to work around any schedule, is willing to provide estimates at off times and very prompt on times. The 4 man crew worked together very well and in the extreme heat was very attentive to each other. Clean up was very detailed oriented during adverse weather conditions. Will highly recommend these guys with being close to down town lansing. Made sure driveway was cleaned when they left in case needed to pull vehicles in.

We used SK for some tree trimming this past spring. They were the only tree service we called that actually answered the phone!They came out and gave us a quote which was very reasonable and Steve was also very informative as to what I needed to do to be ready for the trees to be trimmed, call BwL to lower lines etc. We would definitely recommend, super nice guys, came over and got the job done sharpish and well, good clean up, and very efficient! It was a great experience getting assistance from them. Called this morning after lightning struck and knocked a branch down into my driveway blocking me in. I recieved a quick fast estimate and help right away. Tried calling other places but none answered or just took messages and said they will get back to me. At this time I havent heard back from others yet and the tree branch is already removed.

Steven and his crew cut a tree down in the neighbors yard yard and destroyed my driveway papers and left huge tracks in my yard.His response when I asked for it to be fixed was sue me. They also left trash in the yard and did at low quality cleanup afterwards.Highly not recommended

Called a handful of places and SK Tree Service was the only one to answer right away. Steven was able to meet within two hours of my initial call and give me a fair estimate on the job. He was also very informative, friendly, and professional. They were able to squeeze me in the next day and laid out a plan for the fallen branch on top of the other trees on my property.The day of the job, SK Tree was able to complete the task quickly and with less damage to the other trees than I was initially told (the way the branch fell, additional damage would be expected). They also gave me a pretty good estimate on removing the 50+ foot dead tree the branch fell from.Excellent, prompt, and professional work. Would definitely call them again for future work.UPDATE: After some crazy wind that came later this year, removal of the original tree from earlier became a larger priority. Just for kicks, I did manage to get a different quote from a different company, but it was considerably more expensive than what SK Tree Service gave. I called Steve back and asked him to take a look again and he stuck with his original quote. Once again, their service was well beyond satisfactory. The plan they came up with to remove the tree, the professionalism they displayed in their craft, and the execution were all top-notch. The tree went down perfectly with little to no damage to the surrounding area AND they were able to do it in such a short amount of time. Cant recommend them enough; they do amazing work!

Great experience, came out same day of my call to give estimate, and was able to do the job sooner then anticipated. Our beloved Mulberry tree was split with the storm on Friday. We contacted Steve on Saturday and he was over within two hours!! Steve and guys came out and removed a 50-foot Tree in my side yard and a 25-foot tree that was growing behind my garage back on September 21st, 2020. Steve and his crew did an amazing job with my tree removal. An unexpected limb broke over the night and took out part of my fence and the power line to my detached garage. Within an hour SK Tree Service was out and started working to get the limb off my electric wires. They had to leave but kept me informed of their return eta every step of the way. The returned back later that day to remove and chip the remaining limb. They did such a wonderful job cleaning up and it was very affordable. It looks like nothing ever happened! We live in a neighborhood with a lot of large trees in East Lansing and Steve was recommended to us by our realtor, to help with a large walnut tree that had a downed branch caused by a lightning strike earlier. Steve responded to our request for a bid hours later and came out the same day. His bid was on budget and his recommendations were to preserve the tree and just take out any other branches that might be a problem in the future. We hired him for the walnut tree and some other branches that were overhanging our house.Steve and his crew were very professional. He always called before arriving and introduced us to his colleagues. He mentioned that he might yell at his colleagues (barking orders ) because of the noise of the machines, but explained that it was for safety purposes. With all the noise of the machines, the yelling was completely understandable. Once they were done, they did a great job cleaning up after themselves.On a personal note, Steve was a pleasure to work with. He is very transparent about his business and process. Before providing us with a bid, he asked if we wanted to keep some the fire wood (we said no), and mentioned that since we didnt want to keep the wood, hed be able to sell it (he also sells firewood), and that was one reason for why he charged as much as he did. Hes definitely cares a lot for the environment and doesnt like to take out tree unless needed. He is all about ethical behavior, empathy, and even recommends talking to your trees!I would highly recommend Steve for any tree services.

Steve did an excellent job removing a dead and dangerous tree from my yard at a reasonable price. Due to the semi small nature of the job I was having a hard time even getting an estimate from other tree services but Steve was prompt and came with a reasonable rate. This tree had a tricky drop zone with power lines, fences and other trees and he dropped it without damaging anything!! Also, once the job was done I didnt see one stick out in the yard from a tree that exploded into a million pieces when it hit the ground! Steve definitely takes pride in his work and takes care of his customers.

Steve was very prompt in coming out and giving us an estimate for the removal of our downed tree. Once the weather cleared, he was also prompt in scheduling the tree removal. He did a great job on that at a fair price and was flexible enough that when my wife asked if he could also remove a brush pile and grind it up, he also did that at a fair price.
