Don worked with me on determining as to which front wheel bearing was bad. Initial diagnosis of the problem did not fully ascertain which side was bad. I drove it for an additional 3 weeks and both he and I agreed it was the front right. Then when the service was performed, due to a rusty assembly, the traction control/antilock sensor broke when the removed it. Hi Tech covered the cost of the broken part. Now, that doesnt happen at most repair shops.

We had an intermittent problem with our Highlander starting, which was a hard thing to catch. HiTech mechanics periodically started the vehicle over a 4 day period to catch the problem. I was charged only $65 for this troubleshooting phase. I then dropped off the car to have the fuel pump replaced along with some other maintenance tasks. They gave me a loaner car at no charge and by the end of the next day was able to pick up our vehicle. It has been about a month now and the intermittent problem is gone.

I trust themI have been taking vehicles to Craig and Don for as long as they’ve been in business here. They know what they’re doing, give me honest answers and reliable, quality service. I’ve always been happy with their work and advice. I once took a used car I was about to purchase to them and they told me not to buy it and why. They don’t take advantage; they are a company and people of integrity as well as competence. I give my highest recommendation. My only complaint: they’re going to need to expand eventually because they are THAT good.

INTEGRITY says it all. Im travelling through Lakewood, CO and a check engine light had come on. I went to another local repair shop who told me I could leave the car, theyd try to get to it today, and diagnostic fees are $109-$169 to read the code, plus repair costs. Since Im traveling I asked if they could recommend another shop. No surprise, they couldnt.I then went to Hi-Tech Import Auto. They went right out to the car and read the code. No code. It was a reminder to change my oil (blush). No charge to read the codes. I am dropping my daughter off at college and am so glad I have found an honest repair facility in case she needs one while shes here.Thank God there are still honest, ethical businesses who are customer-oriented. I have been using Hi Tech for 15 years. I took my 2000 Tundra there when George and Mary owned the shop and I now take my 2010 Tundra there while Craig is the owner. My wife has taken her 2002 Lexus RX300 there since we have owned it. It is rare to find a shop of this caliber. Craig replaced the transmission in the RX300 about a year ago. My wife has had trouble with the transmission since they replaced it. It was a rebuilt from a California company. Craig stood behind the transmission. He recently pulled the rebuilt transmission out and rebuilt it again. All at no cost. I will never take my cars to anyone but Hi Tech and Craig. I put myself through college as a young man as a mechanic on exotic sports cars. I WILL NEVER TAKE MY CARS TO ANYONE OTHER THAN HI TECH! All the employees are very high quality individuals.

I want to let everyone know that this place is not owned by the same people anymore. My significant other and his family went here for years and loved the old owners- the shop was reliable and honest.However, it switched hands but kept the same name. The new owner is not as honest. I came in with a very basic issue- my door didnt open from the inside (but it did open from the outside!). A colleagues husband used to do my car repairs (but they moved out of state) but I called him to check. The new owner tried to tell me that I needed to replace the entire door latch ($450). However, that seemed fishy- I was told by my friend that if this was the case the outside door handle wouldnt work either. I took it to another mechanic (Ralphs Foothills Service) and they fixed it for under $100!The mechanic I spoke to at Hi-Tech also tried to nail me for a lot of add ons (for instance, putting some cheap windshield wash in my car). When I told them that I hadnt asked for it, he got frustrated and said they would just pour it out!Overall, Hi-Tech quoted me with $856 in necessary work. When I took it to Ralphs, they checked everything Hi-Tech quoted and took care of the issues they saw for only $286.46!I want everyone to know this so that you dont get scammed.

I made an appointment to get my 2006 Toyota Tacoma inspected (vibrations from stops). They accurately identified the problem, among others, and offered a very fair price in order to resolve the issues. I also gave them a short notice deadline for my truck to be returned. Good Service! I was driving to work on a Friday morning. Called Craig and he told me to bring my car in that afternoon to see what codes my car was throwing. Brought my car in at 3:30 pm on a Friday and it was fixed by the time they closed at 6pm. Craig and Don really took good care of me and my aging car!

I have been coming to Hi-Tech Import Automotive for over 15 years, even back when George and Mary owned the store. I was concerned when the shop was sold to new owners, but Craig and his crew are absolutely fantastic. They are extremely knowledgeable and skilled, as well as totally honest, and very personable. They are able to explain the problems they identify with your car, and what needs to be done to remedy the problem; and they never perform or suggest work be performed when it is unnecessary. I find them to be fair in what they charge for labor, and unlike some shops, they do not overprice parts. I trust these guys 100% and I cannot say that about any other automotive shop. I want to recommend this shop to everyone because I know I can do that with full confidence that everyone I refer would be happy. However, if I recommend this shop to everyone, Ill never be able to get my car in!

I have been going to Hi-Tech Import Automotive for at least six years. I originally found the business on Car Talks website. I have not ever been disappointed. While the business has changed ownership and the new owner was a mechanic at under the former management, the integrity, honesty and excellent work has not changed. I still take my cars to Hi Tech for all of my mechanic needs. Others whom Ive recommended this shop have been grateful. In fact, just today, I had an issue come up with my Tacoma pickup truck and it was taken care of the same day. Why go to anyone else?

I had a timing belt and water pump replaced by previous owners. The pump went bad while still under warranty. Even though they didnt have to, the new owner honored the parts warranty and did not charge labor to replace the defective water pump. Thats integrity, honesty, and great customer service.They have also done other maintenance work for me and have done a great job. These guys care about your car as much as you do!

For years Ive avoided establishing contact with an automotive shop, putting off MUCH needed repairs for my 2005 Scion XA. As a younger woman, Ive always felt extreme angst and fear that I would be belittled, ripped off, and potentially jeopardize my car in a chain or dealership. My car is my baby (“Herbert”- as all beloved cars need names…) and I rely on it for my job due to heavy commuting. I chose Hi-Tech based on the reviews (all of them 5 stars), and I have to say that my experience exceeded anything I could have expected. Ive been needing to find a mechanic just to comb over my car and make sure everythings running well. These guys got me in really quickly, looked it over in 45 minutes, checked on a few things I had questions on, and had me on my way in just over an hour. They werent pushy in recommendations, just let me know the price and told me to call them if I wanted to set it up. Don was patient with my questions and talked me through the things they said should be done at some point, and seemed to be a nice, honest guy. If their prices are comparable to other mechanics, you can bet these guys will be my new go-to! The only downside is how crowded their parking lot is... It was tricky getting out of there.

They took the time to thoroughly explain their diagnostics and recommendations, and I appreciated that they let me know which repairs needed immediate attention versus ones that could wait. The prices were fair and repairs were made in a timely fashion.

I had a number of issues with my historic i.e. high mileage Toyota Camry. They outlined clearly what needed to be done immediately and what the priorites were for what needed to be dealt with next. They also went the extra mile to identify the major source of an oil leak which wasnt immediately obvious.I have the distinct impression that they have the customers best interests at heart. I visited the guys at HIgh Tech Automotive, for the first time, on Wednesday, June 24, 2015. I had been to a local car dealer and was given some bogus information. Craig and the guys diagnosed the problem within a few minutes and I was on my way. They also suggested maintenance that would be of benefit as well, and I scheduled an appointmnet. These people know their business and they take pride in their operation. Customer Service and Satisfaction seem to be at the top of their list of priorities.I thought Customer Service was an outdated concept??? Go figure! See these guys and theyll take good care of you.

Craig found/fixed the problem which was caused by other dealer.He fixed it, and made them pay for it. He took the time to explainwhat went wrong and what had to be fixed. Great staff, too.

The best mechanics you will every find.

Overall, I had a really positive experience with HTIA. Brought my 4Runner up there after it just stopped running one day. I had spent over $200 fixing things that *werent* the problem, with no results, so I eventually had to suck it up and take it to the shop. I found these guys online, they were close to my house, and specialized in Toyota. I had my truck towed and dropped off at HTIA in the late afternoon. I described what the truck was doing, and these guys immediately diagnosed it as a timing problem. I was skeptical, as I had just replaced the timing belt and water pump the year before, but figured Id let the experts dive in and find out for sure. They called me back the next day and confirmed that their diagnosis was correct: my water pump had a faulty pin that had fallen out, jumped my timing belt by 5 teeth, and generally just trashed my whole timing system. I needed a new timing belt, water pump, tensioner pulley, and idler pulley (I visually inspected these parts after they were pulled and they were, in fact, destroyed and needing replacing). They gave me a quote that was a little higher than I was expecting, and included some repairs that werent really the pressing issue; however, I spoke with Don and he was able to sub out some parts for a bit cheaper, and even worked with me on the supplies and labor price a bit. One of the mechanics, Craig, even spotted some after-market parts in my truck that werent functioning properly and subbed them out for me out of his own personal parts stash, free of charge, which I thought was really above and beyond. As a Southern transplant, Ive learned that everything in Denver is expensive, but these guys did a lot to help soften the blow, and in the end I got out for less than I would have at a lot of other shops in the area, and with no shortage in quality. My truck is running great. If I need a mechanic in the future, Ill call these guys first.
